| 1 | High precision topographic data on Lop Nor basin's Lake 'Great Ear' ? and the timing of its becoming a dry salt lake显示文摘High precision elevation measurements using DGPS were carried out along three representative tran- sects for the 'Great Ear' area, a dry salt lake within the Lop Nor basin. Results indicate that the Lop Nor basin is only 5.2 m deep and its lowest point occurs at the center of the 'Great Ear'. In addition, the basin is asymmetric - steeper in the southwest (0.19‰) and gentler in the northeast (0.09‰). Points along the same 'Great Ear' ring were found to have an identical elevation value, but different when from different ones (lower towards the center). The spacing of the 'Great Ear' rings was found to be closely related with the surface steepness. The closer the 'Great Ear' rings are spaced, the steeper the ground surface, and vice versa. These findings support the argument that the 'Great Ear' rings are the former shoreline trails left behind by Lop Nor water during the last few episodes of recession towards its total dry up. A comprehensive analysis of the high precision elevation data, historical accounts, aerial and satellite photographs and imagery, and official topographic maps of the study area suggests that the 'Great Ear' area in the Lop Nor basin was incorrectly mapped as being covered by a great body of water on the 1963 topographic maps. A re-interpretation of the 1958 aerial photographs and newer remote sensing imagery indicated that the 'Great Ear' ring structure was already in place in 1958 and it continued to appear on the subsequent remote sensing data without any major changes. | 2 | Hospital-Based Phenotypic Features and Treatment Outcomes of Chinese Women with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome: The Effect of Body Mass Index and Geographic Distribution显示文摘Genetic,lifestyle,and environmental factors contribute to the etiology of polycystic ovary syndrome(PCOS).Increased body mass index(BMI)exacerbates the reproductive and metabolic parameters and reduces the fecundity of women with PCOS.This is a secondary analysis of a large-sample,multicenter,randomized controlled trial conducted at 21 sites in Chinese mainland.A total of 1000 women diagnosed with PCOS were enrolled in this trial.Of these,998 women with PCOS were included in the analysis.Increased BMI was associated with more severe menstrual irregularities,elevated testosterone level,higher prevalence of metabolic syndrome,and poorer quality of life.The rates of ovulation per woman for the normal,overweight,and obese BMI groups were 83.0%,78.2%,and 63.6%,respectively(P<0.001),and the rates of live birth were 23.6%,18.1%,and 15.3%(P=0.030).Northern PCOS patients showed more severe reproductive,glucose,and lipid profiles;less exercise;and lower total ovulation rates compared with PCOS patients from Southern China(74.8%vs 81.2%,absolute difference 6.4%,95%confidence interval 1.2%–11.5%).The results show the typical phenotypic features of Han women with PCOS in Northern and Southern China.The women living in Northern China showed a higher BMI,more severe glycolipid metabolism profiles,and subsequently worse clinical outcomes by the same interventions than those living in Southern China.The difference in phenotypic features can be explained mostly by differences in BMI and the resulting difference in ovulation. | Jingshu Gao Hongli Ma Yu Wang Xinming Yang Yijuan Cao Bei Zhang Conghui Han Xiaoke Wua | 2021 | Engineering2021,7,2: | 3 |
| 3 | Fabrication and characterization of SmO_(0.7)F_(0.2)FeAs bulk with a transition temperature of 56.5 K显示文摘The superconductivity of iron-based superconductor SmO 0.7 F 0.2 FeAs was investigated. The SmO 0.7 F 0.2 FeAs sample was prepared by the two-step solid-state reaction method. The onset resistivity transition temperature is as high as 56.5 K. X-ray diffraction (XRD) results show that the lattice parameters a and c are 0.39261 and 0.84751 nm, respectively. Furthermore, the global J c was more than 2.3 × 10 5 A/cm 2 at T = 10 K and H = 9 T, which was calculated by the formula of J c = 20ΔM/[a(1-a/(3b))]. | 5 | Effects of edpetiline from Fritillaria on inflammation and oxidative stress induced by LPS stimulation in RAW264.7 macrophages显示文摘The dry bulbs of Fritillaria cirrhosa species can help resolve phlegm,soothe cough,clear heat,and moisten the lung,and the main active components responsible for these effect are its alkaloids.However,it is unclear whether or how edpetiline in Fritillaria can inhibit the excessive inflammatory response and oxidative stress.In this research,we aimed to examine this aspect using lipopolysaccharide(LPS)-stimulated RAW264.7 macrophages as an inflammatory model.The quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction and western blot analysis results showed that edpetiline significantly inhibited the content and mRNA expression levels of proinflammatory cytokines(TNF-αand IL-6)in LPS-induced RAW264.7 cells,significantly increased the mRNA expression of IL-4(anti-inflammatory cytokine),and markedly downregulated the inflammatory mediators inductible nitric oxide synthase(iNOS)and cyclooxygenase-2(COX-2)mRNA and protein expression levels.The oxidative stress induced by LPS was also inhibited by edpetiline,as the level of intracellular reactive oxygen species decreased notably.Edpetiline may exert anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects through inhibiting the phosphorylation of IκB and the nuclear transcription of nuclear transcription factor-κB p65 and decreasing the phosphorylation of p38 and ERK in the mitogen-activated protein kinase signaling pathway,without activating the JNK/mitogen-activated protein kinase signaling pathway.These findings suggest that edpetiline may be a potential therapeutic agent for the prevention or treatment of inflammation-and oxidative stress-related pathophysiological processes and diseases. | Hongli Zhang Xiaoqing Xu Zhenhua Liu Dongxiao Sun-Waterhouse Jinmei Wang Changyang Ma Geoffrey I.N.Waterhouse Wenyi Kang | 2021 | Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2021,53,2: | 2 |

| 10 | Semen Analysis and Fecundity Association Among Women with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome Experiencing Ovulatory Dysfunction Treated by Ovulation Induction显示文摘In this study,normal values of semen analysis were set for a general infertile population of couples among which most women had normal ovulation.The predictive capacity values of sperm quality,including concentration,motile count,progressive motile count,and morphology,are unclear for women with polycystic ovary syndrome(PCOS).A secondary analysis was conducted based on a randomized controlled trial investigating infertility among women with PCOS experiencing ovulatory disorder between 2011 and 2016 in China.A total of 1000 women received ovulation induction(acupuncture and clomiphene).We randomized the women with PCOS in 27 hospitals in China who received one of four interventions(acupuncture plus clomiphene,sham acupuncture plus clomiphene,acupuncture plus placebo,or sham acupuncture plus placebo).Semen analysis was performed for every male partner according to the World Health Organization(WHO)criteria.The outcomes included conception,clinical pregnancy,and live birth.Logistic regression was used to evaluate the predictive value of semen analysis among ovulatory women for conception,clinical pregnancy,and live birth.Among the 1000 couples,the number of couples who attained ovulation,conception,clinical pregnancy,and live birth were 780,320,235,and 205,respectively.Semen volume and motility were applied and used as prediction parameters for conception(area under the curve(AUC)of 0.62(95%confidence interval(CI),0.55–0.69)),clinical pregnancy(AUC of 0.67(95%CI:0.61–0.73)),and live birth(AUC of 0.57(95%CI:0.50–0.64)).No poor calibration was shown for these models in Hosmer–Lemeshow tests.The predictive capacity of semen analysis for treatment outcome in PCOS women with PCOS experiencing with ovulatory dysfunction is limited. | Jingshu Gao Yu Wang Mubai Li Mengyi Zhu Xuekui Liu Hongli Ma Yijuan Cao Lu Li Xinming Yang Xiaoke Wu | 2021 | Engineering2021,7,11: | 1 |

| 17 | LncRNA DACH1 protects against pulmonary fibrosis by binding to SRSF1 to suppress CTNNB1 accumulation显示文摘Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis(IPF)is a progressive disease with unknown etiology and limited therapeutic options.Activation of fibroblasts is a prominent feature of pulmonary fibrosis.Here we report that lncRNA DACH1(dachshund homolog 1)is downregulated in the lungs of IPF patients and in an experimental mouse model of lung fibrosis.LncDACH1 knockout mice develop spontaneous pulmonary fibrosis,whereas overexpression of LncDACH1 attenuated TGF-β1-induced aberrant activation,collagen deposition and differentiation of mouse lung fibroblasts.Similarly,forced expression of LncDACH1 not only prevented bleomycin(BLM)-induced lung fibrosis,but also reversed established lung fibrosis in a BLM model.Mechanistically,LncDACH1 binding to the serine/arginine-rich splicing factor 1(SRSF1)protein decreases its activity and inhibits the accumulation of Ctnnb1.Enhanced expression of SRSF1 blocked the anti-fibrotic effect of LncDACH1 in lung fibroblasts.Furthermore,loss of LncDACH1 promoted proliferation,differentiation,and extracellular matrix(ECM)deposition in mouse lung fibroblasts,whereas such effects were abolished by silencing of Ctnnb1.In addition,a conserved fragment of LncDACH1 alleviated hyperproliferation,ECM deposition and differentiation of MRC-5 cells driven by TGF-β1.Collectively,LncDACH1 inhibits lung fibrosis by interacting with SRSF1 to suppress CTNNB1 accumulation,suggesting that LncDACH1 might be a potential therapeutic target for pulmonary fibrosis. | Jian Sun Tongzhu Jin Zhihui Niu Jiayu Guo Yingying Guo Ruoxuan Yang Qianqian Wang Huiying Gao Yuhan Zhang Tianyu Li Wenxin He Zhixin Li Wenchao Ma Wei Su Liangliang Li Xingxing Fan Hongli Shan Haihai Liang | 2022 | Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2022,12,9: | 1 |

| 19 | In-situ TiC_P/Al Composites Prepared by TE/QP Method显示文摘An in-situ TiCP/Al composite was prepared by a thermal explosion/quick pressure method (TE/QP). The effect of Al content on the reaction temperature as well as the reaction rate has been studied. Phase constituents and the microstructure of the composites and the particle size of the reinforcement were analysed using X-ray diffraction (XRD)and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The results have shown that TiCP/Al composite with 40~70 vol. pct TiC particle reinforcement and high relative density can be directly obtained by TE/QP. TiC is the only reaction product when Al content in Al-Ti-C system is no more than 60 vol. pct, but Al3Ti phase will also form when Al content is more than 60 vol. pct. Increasing Al content prolongs the initial reaction time, reduces the highest reaction temperature and the reaction rate, and decreases the size of TiC particles. In addition, the microstructure of TiCP/Al composite and the structure of interface between TiCP and Al are studied using SEM and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The results show that the in-situ synthesized TiC particle has fcc cubic structure. The orientation between TiC particles and Al matrix can be described as (220)Al∥(022)TiC and [112]Al∥[011]TiC. Results of the mechanical property tests reveal that the ultimate strength (σ) and modulus (E) are 687 MPa and 142 GPa respectively when the Al content is 40 vol. pct.
