Distribution and assessment of heavy metals in the surface sediment of Yellow River, China显示文摘Large amounts of heavy metals discharged by industrial cities that are located along the middle reach of Yellow River, China have detrimental impacts on both the ecological environment and human health. In this study, fourteen surface sediment samples were taken in the middle reach of the Yellow River. Contents of Zn, Pb, Ni, Cu, Cr, Cd, As were measured, and the pollution status was assessed using three widely used pollution assessment methods, including the single factor index method, Nemerow pollution index method and potential ecological risk index. The concentrations of the studied heavy metals followed the order: Zn > Cr > Cu > Ni > Pb > As > Cd. Nearly 50% of sites had Cu and Cr accumulation. The concentration of Cu at the Yiluo River exceeded the secondary standard value of the Environmental quality standard for soils. Comparison of heavy metal concentrations between this study and other selected rivers indicated that Cu and Cr may be the major pollutants in our case. The single factor index indicated that many samples were at high levels of pollution for Cu and Cd; the Nemerow pollution index indicated that the Yihe River, Luohe River, Yiluo River and Huayuankou were polluted. According to the results of potential ecological risk assessment, Cd in the tributaries of Luo River, Yihe River, and Yiluo River showed high risk toward the ecosystem and human health, Cd in Huanyuankou and Cu in Yiluo River showed a middle level of risk and other samples were at a low level of risk. | Nan Yan Wenbin Liu Huiting Xie Lirong Gao Ying Han Mengjing Wang Haifeng Li | 2016 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2016,28,1: | 33
CXCL5/CXCR2 axis in tumor microenvironment as potential diagnostic biomarker and therapeutic target显示文摘The components of the tumor microenvironment(TME)in solid tumors, especially chemokines, are currently attracting much attention from scientists.C-X-C motif chemokine ligand 5(CXCL5)is one of the important chemokines in TME.Over-expression of CXCL5 is closely related to the survival time, recurrence and metasta-sis of cancer patients. In TME,CXCL5 binds to its receptors, such as C-X-C motif chemokine receptor 2(CXCR2),to participate in the recruitment of immune cells and promote angiogenesis, tumor growth, and metastasis. The CXCL5/CXCR2 axis can act as a bridge between tumor cells and host cells in TME.Blocking the trans-mission of CXCL5/CXCR2 signals can increase the sensitivity and effectiveness of immunotherapy and slow down tumor progression.CXCL5 and CXCR2 are also regarded as biomarkers for predicting prognosis and molecular targets for customiz-ing the treatment. In this review,we summarized the current literature regarding the biological functions and clinical significance of CXCL5/CXCR2 axis in TME.The possibility to use CXCL5 and CXCR2 as potential prognostic biomarkers and thera-peutic targets in cancer is also discussed. | Wen Zhang Huishan Wang Mingyang Sun Xueting Deng Xueru Wu Yilan Ma Mengjing Li Said Maisam Shuoa Qiang You Lin Miao | 2020 | Cancer Communications2020,40,2: | 19
Petrology, Geochemistry and Geochronology of Gabbros from the Zhongcang Ophiolitic Mélange, Central Tibet: Implications for an Intra-Oceanic Subduction Zone within the Neo-Tethys Ocean显示文摘In order to investigate the evolution of Shiquanhe-Yongzhu-Jiali ophiolitic mélange belt, the gabbros from new discovered Zhongcang ophiolitic mélange are studied through petrology, whole-rock geochemistry, zircon U-Pb dating and Lu-Hf isotope. The gabbros investigated in this paper contain cumulate gabbro and gabbro dike, and they have undergone greenschist-amphibolite facies metamorphism. The chondrite normalized rare earth element(REE) patterns of most of these rocks show flat types with slightly light REE(LREE) depletion and the N-MORB normalized incompatible elements diagrams indicate depletion in high field strength elements(HFSE)(Nb, Ta) and enrichment in large ion lithophile elements(LILE). These gabbros have island arc and mid-ocean ridge basalt affinities, suggesting that they were originated in an oceanic back arc basin. Whole rock geochemistry and high positive εNd(t) values show that these gabbros were derived from ~30% partial melting of a spinel lherzolite mantle, which was enriched by interaction with slab-derived fluids and melts from sediment. U-Pb analyses of zircons from cumulate gabbro yield a weighted mean age of 114.3±1.4 Ma. Based on our data and previous studies, we propose that an intra-oceanic subduction system and back arc basin operated in the Neo-Tethy Ocean of central Tibet during Middle Jurassic and Early Cretaceous, resembling modern active intra-oceanic subduction systems in the western Pacific. | Mengjing Xu Cai Li Wei Xu Chaoming Xie Peiyuan Hu Ming Wang | 2014 | Journal of Earth Science2014,25,2: | 11
Zircon U-Pb Age,Geochemical Data:Constraints on the Origin and Tectonic Evolution of the Metamafic Rocks from Longmuco-Shuanghu-Lancang Suture Zone,Tibet显示文摘Bulk-rock major and trace elements and zircon U-Pb data are reported for Permian metamafic rocks from Guoganjianan, in the western part of Longmuco-Shuanghu-Lancang suture zone. These results offer new insights into mantle source characteristics and geodynamic setting of Permian ophiolitic fragments. U-Pb isotopic dating using SHRIMP II method reveals that the metamafic rocks were formed at 274.7± 3.9 and 279.8± 3.6 Ma. The metamafic rocks mostly show N-MORB-typed rare earth element patterns and are enrichment in large-ion lithophile elements, indicating that they are probably derived from partial melting of a depleted mantle in a back-arc basin. Our new data, together with recent studied results on Paleozoic ophiolitic fragments suggest the Paleo-Tethys Ocean in Central Qiangtang opened at Cambrian and widened between Ordovician and Devonian. Northward subduction started in the Late Devonian–Early Carboniferous and a back-arc basin developed during Permian. | Yanwang Wu Cai Li Mengjing Xu Chaoming Xie Ming Wang | 2017 | Journal of Earth Science2017,28,3: | 7

Roles of insulin-like growth factor Ⅱ in regulating female reproductive physiology显示文摘The number of growth factors involved in female fertility has been extensively studied, but reluctance to add essential growth factors in culture media has limited progress in optimizing embryonic growth and implantation outcomes, a situation that has ultimately led to reduced pregnancy outcomes. Insulin-like growth factor Ⅱ(IGF-Ⅱ) is the most intricately regulated of all known reproduction-related growth factors characterized to date, and is perhaps the predominant growth factor in human ovarian follicles. This review aims to concisely summarize what is known about the role of IGF-Ⅱ in follicular development, oocyte maturation, embryonic development, implantation success, placentation, fetal growth, and in reducing placental cell apoptosis, as well as present strategies that use growth factors in culture systems to improve the developmental potential of oocytes and embryos in different species. Synthesizing the present knowledge about the physiological roles of IGF-Ⅱ in follicular development, oocyte maturation, and early embryonic development should, on the one hand, deepen our overall understanding of the potential beneficial effects of growth factors in female reproduction and on the other hand support development(optimization) of improved outcomes for assisted reproductive technologies. | Tahir Muhammad Mengjing Li Jianfeng Wang Tao Huang Shigang Zhao Han Zhao Hongbin Liu Zi-Jiang Chen | 2020 | Science China(Life Sciences)2020,63,6: | 4
The Petrology, Geochemistry, and Petrogenesis of E-MORB-type Mafic Rocks from the Guomangco Ophiolitic Mélange, Tibet显示文摘The Guomangco ophiolitic mélange is situated in the middle part of the Shiquanhe–Yongzhu–Jiali ophiolitic mélange belt(SYJMB) and possesses all the subunits of a typical Penrosetype ophiolite pseudostratigraphy. The study of the Guomangco ophiolitic mélange is very important for investigating the tectonic evolution of the SYJMB. The mafic rocks of this ophiolitic mélange mainly include diabases, sillite dikes, and basalts. Geochemical analysis shows that these dikes mostly have E-MORB major and trace element signatures; this is the first time that this has been observed in the SYJMB. The basalts have N-MORB and IAB affinities, and the mineral chemistry of harzburgites shows a composition similar to that of SSZ peridotites, indicating that the Guomangco ophiolitic mélange probably originated in a back-arc basin. The Guomangco back-arc basin opened in the Middle Jurassic, which was caused by southward subduction of the Neo-Tethys Ocean in central Tibet. The main spreading of this back-arc basin occurred during the Late Jurassic, and the basalts were formed during this time. With the development of the back-arc basin, the subducted slab gradually retreated, and new mantle convection occurred in the mantle wedge. The recycling may have caused the metasomatized mantle to undergo a high degree of partial melting and to generate EMORBs in the Early Cretaceous. E-MORB-type dikes probably crystallized from melts produced by about 20%–30% partial melting of a spinel mantle source, which was metasomatized by melts from low-degree partial melting of the subducted slab. | XU Mengjing LI Cai WU Yanwang XIE Chaoming | 2014 | Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2014,88,5: | 3
Polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins and dibenzofurans and polychlorinated biphenyls in surface soil from the Tibetan Plateau显示文摘Concentrations of Polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins and dibenzofurans(PCDD/Fs) and polychlorinated biphenyls(PCBs) in soil samples from Tibetan Plateau were determined. The average concentration of total 2,3,7,8-PCDD/Fs was(2.30 ± 1.02) pg/g, and World Health Organization Toxicity Equivalency(WHO-TEQ) average concentration was(0.013 ± 0.010)pg WHO-TEQ/g. The average concentration of ∑PCBs(7 indicator PCB and 12 dioxin like-PCB congeners) was(16.2 ± 9.25) pg/g, and WHO-TEQ average concentration was 0.043 ±0.049 pg WHO-TEQ/g. Comparing to previous studies in similar environmental conditions,PCDD/Fs and PCBs in this study showed a relatively lower concentration. The altitude dependences of PCDD/Fs and PCBs were also studied. Total organic carbon(TOC) normalized concentrations presented a quadratic relation with the altitudes, and an inflection could be found on the parabola of the total concentrations and some congeners of high concentration. The concentrations decreased with altitudes below about 4500 m above sea level(a.s.l.), while they increased with altitudes above it. These phenomena indicate that cold condensation of PCDD/Fs and PCBs would happen above 4500 m a.s.l, on the Tibetan Plateau. | Zhenyu Tian Haifeng Li Huiting Xie Chen Tang Ying Han Mengjing Wang Wenbin Liu | 2014 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2014,26,10: | 2
Recent advances in hydrogel-based anti-infective coatings显示文摘Bacterial infections associated with biomedical devices and implants have posed a great challenge to global healthcare systems. These infections are mainly caused by bacterial biofilm formed on the surface of biomaterials, protecting the encapsulated bacteria from conventional antibiotic treatment and attack of the immune system. As the bacterial biofilm is difficult to eradicate, bactericidal and antifouling coatings have emerged as promising strategies to prevent biofilm fo rmation and subsequent infections.Hydrogels with three-dimensional crosslinked hydrophilic networks, tunable mechanical property and large drugloading capacity are desirable coating materials, which can kill bacteria and/or prevent bacterial adhesion on the surface, inhibiting biofilm formation.Herein,we review recent developments of hydrogels as anti-infective coatings.Particularly,we highlight two chemical approaches(graft-from and graft-to),which have been used to immobilize hydrogels on surfaces, and present advances in the development of bactericidal(contact-killing and antimicrobial-releasing),antifouling(hydrophilic polymer network)and bifunctional hydrogel coatings with both bactericidal and antifouling activities. In addition, the challe nges of hydrogel coatings for clinical applications are discussed, and future research directions of anti-infective hydrogel coatings are proposed. | Mengjing Fu Yijing Liang Xue Lv Chengnan Li Yi Yan Yang Peiyan Yuan Xin Ding | 2021 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2021,,26: | 1
