| 1 | Measurement and Interpretation of Connectivity of Chinese Cities in World City Network,2010显示文摘This is an empirical paper that measures and interprets the position of Chinese cities in the world city network in 2010. Building on a specification of the world city network as a′interlocking network′in which business services firms play the crucial role in city network formation, information is gathered about the presence of global service firms in cities. This information is converted into data to provide the′service value′of a city for a firm′s provision of corporate services in a 526(cities)×175(firms) matrix. These data are then used as the input to the interlocking network model in order to measure cities′connectivity and its predominant geographical orientation. | 2 | Targeting redox-altered plasticity to reactivate synaptic function: A novel therapeutic strategy for cognitive disorder显示文摘Redox-altered plasticity refers to redox-dependent reversible changes in synaptic plasticity via altering functions of key proteins, such as N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor(NMDAR). Age-related cognitive disorders includes Alzheimer’s disease(AD), vascular dementia(VD), and age-associated memory impairment(AAMI). Based on the critical role of NMDAR-dependent long-term potentiation(LTP) in memory, the increase of reactive oxygen species in cognitive disorders, and the sensitivity of NMDAR to the redox status, converging lines have suggested the redox-altered NMDAR-dependent plasticity might underlie the synaptic dysfunctions associated with cognitive disorders. In this review, we summarize the involvement of redox-altered plasticity in cognitive disorders by presenting the available evidence. According to reports from our laboratory and other groups, this 'redox-altered plasticity' is Hydrogen sulfidemore similar to functional changes rather than organic injuries, and strategies targeting redox-altered plasticity using pharmacological agents might reverse synaptic dysfunctions and memory abnormalities in the early stage of cognitive disorders. | 3 | The Chinese Hα Solar Explorer(CHASE) mission: An overview显示文摘The Chinese Hα Solar Explorer(CHASE), dubbed “Xihe”—Goddess of the Sun, was launched on October 14, 2021 as the first solar space mission of China National Space Administration(CNSA). The CHASE mission is designed to test a newly developed satellite platform and to acquire the spectroscopic observations in the Hα waveband. The Hα Imaging Spectrograph(HIS)is the scientific payload of the CHASE satellite. It consists of two observational modes: raster scanning mode and continuum imaging mode. The raster scanning mode obtains full-Sun or region-of-interest spectral images from 6559.7 to 6565.9 ? and from 6567.8 to 6570.6 ? with 0.024 ? pixel spectral resolution and 1 min temporal resolution. The continuum imaging mode obtains photospheric images in continuum around 6689 ? with the full width at half maximum of 13.4 ?. The CHASE mission will advance our understanding of the dynamics of solar activity in the photosphere and chromosphere. | 6 | Site-Dependent Osseointegration of Biodegradable High-Purity Magnesium for Orthopedic Implants in Femoral Shaft and Femoral Condyle of New Zealand Rabbits显示文摘Magnesium(Mg) has been widely accepted as osteoconductive biomaterial, but osseointegration of Mg device at different implantation sites is still unclear. In the present study, high-purity magnesium(HP Mg)pins were implanted into femoral shaft and condyle of New Zealand rabbits concurrently. 2, 8, 12 and 16 weeks after surgery, rabbit femurs were harvested for micro-computed tomography(micro-CT) scanning and subsequent histological examinations. HP Mg pins were retrieved for scanning electron microscope and energy dispersive spectrum(SEM/EDS) analyses. HP Mg pins at both implantation sites performed stable corrosion with mineral deposition and bone incorporation on surface. However, difference in distribution of contact osteogenesis centers and biological properties of peri-implant bone tissues was detected between femoral shaft and femoral condyle. In femoral condyle, contact osteogenesis centers originated from both periosteum and cancellous bones and the whole HP Mg pin was encapsuled in trabecular bone at 16 weeks.Meanwhile, bone volume to total bone volume(BV/TV) and bone mineral density(BMD) of peri-implant bone tissues were above those of normal bone tissues. In femoral shaft, contact osteogenesis centers were only from periosteum and direct bone contact was confined in cortical bone, while BV/TV and BMD kept lower than normal. Furthermore, new formation of peri-implant bone tissues was more active in femoral condyle than in femoral shaft at 16 weeks. Therefore, although HP Mg performed good biocompatibility and corrosion behavior in vivo, its bioadaption of osseointegration at different implantations sites should be taken into consideration. | 7 | Calibration procedures for the CHASE/HIS science data显示文摘The Hα line is an important optical line in solar observations containing the information from the photosphere to the chromosphere. To study the mechanisms of solar eruptions and the plasma dynamics in the lower atmosphere, the Chinese Hα Solar Explorer(CHASE) was launched into a Sun-synchronous orbit on October 14, 2021. The scientific payload of the CHASE satellite is the Hα Imaging Spectrograph(HIS). The CHASE/HIS acquires, for the first time, seeing-free Hα spectroscopic observations with high spectral and temporal resolutions. It consists of two observational modes. The raster scanning mode provides full-Sun or region-of-interest spectra at Hα(6559.7-6565.9 ?) and Fe I(6567.8-6570.6 ?) wavebands. The continuum imaging mode obtains full-Sun photospheric images at around 6689 ?. In this paper, we present detailed calibration procedures for the CHASE/HIS science data, including the dark-field and flat-field correction, slit image curvature correction, wavelength and intensity calibration, and coordinate transformation. | 9 | Origin of the springtime South China Sea Warm Current in the southwestern Taiwan Strait: Evidence from seawater oxygen isotope显示文摘Oxygen isotope(δ^18O)of seawater is an excellent proxy for tracing the origins of water masses and their mixing processes.Combining with hydrographic observation,hybrid coordinate ocean model(HYCOM)analysis data,and seawater oxygen isotope,we investigated the source of the South China Sea Warm Current(SCSWC)in the southwestern Taiwan Strait and its underlying mechanism.Results show that the Kuroshio subsurface water(KSSW)can intrude the continental slope in the southwestern Taiwan Strait,and thereby climb up the continental slope coupled with upwelling.Theδ^18O-salinity relationship further indicates that in spring,the SCSWC in the southwestern Taiwan Strait originates from the upslope deflection of the slope current formed by the KSSW intrusion into the South China Sea,rather than from the west segment of the SCSWC formed to the east of Hainan Island.In addition,the southward flowing Zhe-Min Coastal Current(ZMCC)can reach as far as the Taiwan Bank(TB)and deflects offshore over the western TB at approximately 23.5°N,to some extent affecting the SCSWC.Moreover,this study reveals that seawaterδ^18O is exquisitely sensitive to the determination of the origin and transport of water masses as compared with traditional potential temperature-salinity plot(θ-S)and HYCOM analysis data.In addition,their coupling can more reliably interpret the mixing processes of shelf water masses. | Dongyu CHEN Ergang LIAN Yeqiang SHU Shouye YANG Yalong LI Chao LI Pengfei LIU Ni SU | 2020 | Science China Earth Sciences2020,63,10: | 2 |

| 11 | Measurement and Analysis of the Comprehensive Development Levels of Large Cities in China:Based on the New Development Concept显示文摘The measurement of a city’s comprehensive development is very important. In view of the new development concept and relevant measurement principles, the authors establish an indicator system that covers six dimensions - innovation, economic development, social harmony, ecofriendliness, openness and connectivity, and infrastructure - to measure the comprehensive development of 69 sample cities, which have more than one million permanent residents in the city proper according to the latest national standards for the classification of cities. The results show that large cities nationwide are seriously polarized in comprehensive development. The sample cities are roughly divided into four echelons. Those in the top echelon are more developed than average cities in the country and there is strong competition among cities in this echelon. In regional terms, cities in the east obviously fare better than those in the west. Separate examinations of the six dimensions show that innovation is the key engine for growth and a main indicator of transformation and upgrading, but it also contributes to the polarization of cities and is where the cities in the second, third and fourth echelons fall short of. In the new era, efforts need to be made to promote transformation and development, not only in cities of the first echelon, but also in those of other echelons, so as to realize balanced and full development. The results show that most of the existing researches pay attention to the impact of housing prices on urban competitiveness through economic growth, industrial structure or production factors. | 19 | Spatial distribution and risk assessments of mercury in topsoils of Central Asia显示文摘Central Asia is one of the largest arid areas on earth,yet little is known about the concentration levels and risks of mercury(Hg)in the soils of this region.In this study,extensive sampling of topsoils(0-10 cm)from representative landscapes was carried out over Central Asia(i.e.,Tajikistan,Uzbekistan,and Kyrgyzstan).The total mercury(THg)concentrations in topsoils varied widely from 1.6 to 908.0 ng/g,with high values observed in samples collected in the capital cities and urban areas.Topsoil THg concentrations among different landscapes showed a decreasing order of urban(79.8±184.0 ng/g)>woodland(27.3±28.9 ng/g)>grassland(20.6±15.9 ng/g)>farmland(18.3±9.5 ng/g)>desert(12.3±8.0 ng/g).High THg concentrations were found in the capital cities/urban clusters,followed by a gradual decrease towards the peripheries.THg concentrations were found to be negatively correlated with the distance from the sampling sites to their nearest cities,indicating that anthropogenic emissions significantly influenced the spatial distribution of topsoil Hg.A significant correlation between THg concentrations and topsoil total organic carbon(TOC)contents was also observed,suggesting that TOC played an essential role in the spatial distribution of topsoil Hg.The assessments of pollution and potential ecological risk suggested that topsoils in highly densely-populated areas were contaminated by Hg and had higher degrees of potential ecological risks.The health risk assessment results showed that the exposure risk of topsoil Hg to children was higher than that to adults.Fortunately,there was no unacceptable human health risk of topsoil Hg.This study clarified the spatial distribution and risks of Hg in the Central Asian topsoils,offering new insight into the risk prevention and control of soil Hg. | Zhengzheng Yang Junming Guo Shiwei Sun Dingming Ni Pengfei Chen Dipesh Rupakheti Huhu Kang Sabur F Abdullaev Salamat Abdyzhapar uulu Shichang Kang | 2023 | Geoscience Frontiers2023,14,4: | 0 |
| 20 | Mutations in epigenetic regulator KMT2C detected by liquid biopsy are associated with worse survival in prostate cancer patients显示文摘Background:KMT2(lysine methyltransferase)family enzymes are epigenetic regulators that activate gene transcription.KMT2C is mainly involved in enhancer-associated H3K4me1,and is also one of the top mutated genes in cancer(6.6%in pan-cancer).Currently,the clinical significance of KMT2C mutations in prostate cancer is understudied.Methods:We included 221 prostate cancer patients diagnosed between 2014 and 2021 in West China Hospital of Sichuan University with cell-free DNA-based liquid biopsy test results in this study.We investigated the association between KMT2C mutations,other mutations,and pathways.Furthermore,we evaluated the prognostic value of KMT2C mutations,measured by overall survival(OS)and castration resistance-free survival(CRFS).Also,we explored the prognostic value of KMT2C mutations in different patient subgroups.Lastly,we investigated the predictive value of KMT2C mutations in individuals receiving conventional combined anti-androgen blockade(CAB)and abiraterone(ABI)as measured by PSA progression-free survival(PSA-PFS).Results:The KMT2C mutation rate in this cohort is 7.24%(16/221).KMT2C-mutated patients showed worse survival than KMT2C-wild type(WT)patients regarding both CRFS and OS(CRFS:mutated:9.9 vs.WT:22.0 months,p=0.015;OS:mutated:71.9 vs.WT 137.4 months,p=0.012).KMT2C mutations were also an independent risk factor in OS[hazard ratio:3.815(1.461,9.96),p=0.006]in multivariate analyses.Additionally,we explored the association of KMT2C mutations with other genes.This showed that KMT2C mutations were associated with Serine/Threonine-Protein Kinase 11(STK11,p=0.004)and Catenin Beta 1(CTNNB1,p=0.008)mutations.In the CAB treatment,KMT2C-mutated patients had a significantly shorter PSA-PFS compared to KMT2C-WT patients.(PSA-PFS:mutated:9.9 vs.WT:17.6 months,p=0.014).Moreover,KMT2C mutations could effectively predict shorter PSA-PFS in 10 out of 23 subgroups and exhibited a strong trend in the remaining subgroups.Conclusions:KMT2C-mutated patients showed worse survival compared to KMT2C-WT patients in terms of both CRFS and OS,and KMT2C mutations were associated with STK11 and CTNNB1 mutations.Furthermore,KMT2C mutations indicated rapid progression during CAB therapy and could serve as a potential biomarker to predict therapeutic response in prostate cancer. | SHA ZHU NANWEI XU JIAYU LIANG FENGNIAN ZHAO ZILIN WANG YUCHAO NI JINDONG DAI JINGE ZHAO XINGMING ZHANG JUNRU CHEN GUANGXI SUN PENGFEI SHEN HAO ZENG | 2023 | Oncology Research2023,31,4: | 0 |
