| 3 | Pore-scale visualization on a depressurization-induced CO2 exsolution显示文摘The pore-scale behavior of the exsolved CO_2 phase during the depressurization process in CO_2 geological storage was investigated.The reservoir pressure decreases when the injection stops or when a leaking event or fluid extraction occurs.The exsolution characteristics of CO_2 affect the migration and fate of CO_2 in the storage site significantly.Here,a micromodel experimental system that can accommodate a large pressure variation provides a physical model with homogeneous porous media to dynamically visualize the nucleation and growth of exsolved CO_2 bubbles.The pressure decreased from 9.85 to 3.95 MPa at different temperatures and depressurization rates,and the behavior of CO_2 bubbles was recorded.At the pore-scale,the nuclei became observable when the CO_2 phase density was significantly reduced,and the pressure corresponding to this observation was slightly lower than that of the severe expansion pressure region.The lower temperature and faster depressurization rate produced more CO_2 nuclei.The exsolved CO_2 bubble preferentially grew into the pore body instead of the throat.The progress of smaller CO_2 bubbles merging into a larger CO_2 bubble was first captured,which validated the existence of the Ostwald ripening mechanism.The dispersed CO_2 phase after exsolution shows similarity with the residually trapped CO_2.This observation is consistent with the low mobility and high residual trapping ratio of exsolved CO_2 measured in the core-scale measurement,which is considered to be a self-sealing mechanism during depressurization process in CO_2 geological storage. | Ruina Xu Rong Li Feng Huang Peixue Jiang | 2017 | Science Bulletin2017,62,11: | 10 |

| 6 | Temporal and spatial variations of stem CO_(2) efflux of three species in subtropical China显示文摘Aims Although stem CO_(2) efflux is critical to ecosystem carbon and energy balance and its feedback to future climate change,little information is available on stem CO_(2) efflux and its responses to temperature,especially in subtropical China.This study aims to(i)evaluate the temporal and spatial variations of stem CO_(2) efflux of three species,including oak(Quercus acutissima Carr.),masson pine(Pinus massoniana Lamb.)and loblolly pine(Pinus taeda Linn.)in subtropical China and(ii)analyze the temperature sensitivity of stem CO_(2) efflux in the three species based on 2-year field measurements.Methods We measured stem CO_(2) efflux and stem temperature(at 3 cm depth)of the three species using the horizontally oriented soil chamber technique from September 2008 to August 2010.We also conducted a 24-h measurement to examine the diurnal variation of stem CO_(2) efflux in three consecutive days in April 2009.Important findings The temporal dynamics of stem CO_(2) efflux followed the change of the stem temperature in a 3-cm depth with a bell-shaped curve in the three species.Stem temperature explained 77–85%of the seasonal variations of stem CO_(2) efflux over the entire study period in the three species.The temperature sensitivity(Q_(10))of stem CO_(2) efflux was obviously different among the three species with higher Q10 value found in oak(2.24)and lower values in the coniferous species(1.76 and 1.63).Our results also showed that the Q10 values of stem CO_(2) efflux in all the three species were lower in the growing season than that in the non-growing season,indicating that the growth and maintenance respiration had different temperature responses.Moreover,we found that the temperature-normalized stem CO_(2) efflux(R_(10))changed greatly between the growing and non-growing seasons in oak and masson pine,but not in loblolly pine.Additionally,we also found that in the non-growing season,the principal factor responsible for the spatial variation of stem CO_(2) efflux among the 15 sampling trees was sapwood volume,whereas in the growing season,stem CO_(2) efflux was closely related to annual dry-matter production in the three subtropical species. | Qingpeng Yang Ming Xu Yonggang Chi Yunpu Zheng Ruichang Shen Peixue Li Huitang Dai | 2012 | Journal of Plant Ecology2012,5,2: | 7 |

| 8 | SHANK2 is a frequently amplified oncogene with evolutionarily conserved roles in regulating Hippo signaling显示文摘Dysfunction of the Hippo pathway enables cells to evade contact inhibition and provides advantages for cancerous overgrowth.However,for a significant portion of human cancer,how Hippo signaling is perturbed remains unknown.To answer this question,we performed a genome-wide screening for genes that affect the Hippo pathway in Drosophila and cross-referenced the hit genes with human cancer genome.In our screen,Prosap was identified as a novel regulator of the Hippo pathway that potently affects tissue growth.Interestingly,a mammalian homolog of Prosap,SHANK2,is the most frequently amplified gene on 11 q13,a major tumor amplicon in human cancer.Gene amplification profile in this 11q13 amplicon clearly indicates selective pressure for SHANK2 amplification.More importantly,across the human cancer genome,SHANK2 is the most frequently amplified gene that is not located within the Myc amplicon.Further studies in multiple human cell lines confirmed that SHANK2 overexpression causes deregulation of Hippo signaling through competitive binding for a LATS1 activator,and as a potential oncogene,SHANK2 promotes cellular transformation and tumor formation in vivo.In cancer cell lines with deregulated Hippo pathway,depletion of SHANK2 restores Hippo signaling and ceases cellular proliferation.Taken together,these results suggest that SHANK2 is an evolutionarily conserved Hippo pathway regulator,commonly amplified in human cancer and potently promotes cancer.Our study for the first time illustrated oncogenic function of SHANK2,one of the most frequently amplified gene in human cancer.Furthermore,given that in normal adult tissues,SHANK2 s expression is largely restricted to the nervous system,SHANK2 may represent an interesting target for anticancer therapy. | Liang Xu Peixue Li Xue Hao Yi Lu Mingxian Liu Wenqian Song Lin Shan Jiao Yu Hongyu Ding Shishuang Chen Ailing Yang Yi Arial Zeng Lei Zhang Hai Jiang | 2021 | Protein & Cell2021,12,3: | 1 |

| 18 | Jurassic integrative stratigraphy,biotas,and paleogeographical evolution of the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau and its surrounding areas显示文摘The Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau experienced a unique geological evolution during the Jurassic,driven by the termination of the Palaeotethys and the reduction of the Neotethys.The Indian Plate separated from the northern margin of Gondwana and drifted northward from the Southern Hemisphere.Given that the timing of strata serves as the basis for reconstructing geological history,the present work aimed to develop a new multiple stratigraphic and chronologic framework for the Jurassic strata of the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau region via a synthesis of the material on lithostratigraphy,palaeontology,iso-radiometric dating,magnetostratigraphy,and other techniques with an emphasis on recent progress and findings.The new framework included the Jurassic System from the four major subdivisions of the plateau:the Baryan Har,Qiangtang,Lhasa-Gandise,and Southern Xizang(Himalaya).Ultimately,a more complete,refined biostratigraphic sequence was proposed,comprising the most common fossils in the plateau and those that are stratigraphically significant for the Jurassic stratigraphy,including ammonites,bivalves,brachiopods,foraminifera,radiolarians,and dinoflagellate cysts for the marine strata,and pollen and spores,and charophytes for the terrestrial sediments.This biostratigraphic framework was correlated with the Jurassic international standard zonation of the Geological Time Scale 2020 via standard or representative species or genera of ammonites.Based on this framework,we constructed a lateral correlation of the Jurassic strata between different basins of the plateau.The palaeontologic correlation in the present work shows that the Lhasa-Gandise Block had a closer relationship with the Qiangtang Block than with the Southern Xizang Himalaya during the Jurassic Period.Meanwhile,the Lhasa-Gandise Block and Qiangtang Block shared similar marine fauna features of the north marginal East Tethys.This contrasts the opinion suggesting that the Yarlung Zangbo Tethys was a small back-arc basin.A combination of stratigraphical,palaeontological,and sedimentological analyses implies that the Bangong Co-Nujiang Tethys may have begun rifting in the Late Triassic,evolving to the birth at the late Early Jurassic with the formation of ocean crust.However,this resulted in failure after it grew into the climax at the end of the Middle Jurassic when the Qiangtang Block began subducting under the Lhasa-Gandise Block.In the Early Cretaceous,the two blocks finally merged. | Jianguo LI Xin RAO Lin MU Xiaohui CUI Xin LI Hui LUO Peixue LIU | 2024 | Science China Earth Sciences2024,67,4: | 0 |
| 19 | Drosophila Homolog of FMRP Maintains Genome Integrity by Interacting with Piwi显示文摘Fragile X syndrome(Fra X), the most common form of inherited mental retardation, is caused by the absence of the evolutionally conserved fragile X mental retardation protein(FMRP). While neuronal functions of FMRP have been intensively studied for the last two decades, its role in non-neuronal cells remains poorly understood. Piwi, a key component of the Piwi-interacting RNA(pi RNA) pathway,plays an essential role in germline development. In the present study, we report that similar to piwi, dfmr1, the Drosophila homolog of human FMR1, is required for transposon suppression in the germlines. Genetic analyses showed that dfmr1 and piwi act synergistically in heterochromatic silencing, and in inhibiting the differentiation of primordial germline cells and transposon expression. Northern analyses showed that roo pi RNA expression levels are reduced in dfmr1 mutant ovaries, suggesting a role of dfmr1 in pi RNA biogenesis.Biochemical analysis demonstrated a physical interaction between d FMRP and Piwi via their N-termini. | 20 | Research, development and application of compound-vertical-retort technology for magnesium production显示文摘This paper comprehensively introduces a new magnesium production technology the compound-vertical-retort technology, involving in the related fundamental researches, core equipment development, working flow, and technical characteristics. Scale-up test and an annual1200-ton-magnesium demonstration-level test was conducted to confirm the rationality, reliability, and advancement of the equipment, system and process design. It is indicated that the new technology solved a series of problems of traditional silicothermic process including adhesion and glaze, short life of retort, low efficiency, high impurity of crystallized magnesium, large heat losses, and poor working environment,making a great technological breakthrough in this field. Representatively, the new well-designed ceramic-lined steel retort serves 2~3 times in life than the normal retorts. The magnesium yield per retort is improved 4~5 times, with purity of >99.8%. The energy consumption in reduction stage is reduced by more than 20%.
