1Land cover change and eco-environmental quality response of different geomorphic units on the Chinese Loess Plateau显示文摘Land cover in the Chinese Loess Plateau has undergone dramatic changes since the late 1980s.Revealing the trend in land cover change and eco-environmental quality response of different geomorphic units in this stage is a realistic requirement for promoting sustainable development of the Chinese Loess Plateau.Based on the data of geomorphic units and land cover in 1990,2000,2010 and 2018 of the Chinese Loess Plateau,we studied the trend of land cover change and eco-environmental quality response of different geomorphic units by using a significance index of land cover change,a proportion index of land cover change and an eco-environmental response model.The results indicated that from 1990 to 2018,the areas of forestland and construction land substantially increased,whereas those of cropland,grassland,wetland and unused land considerably decreased.Land cover change exhibited large geomorphic differences,and the main conversion of land cover was from cropland into other land types.Unstable trend of land cover change in the loess tablelands and sandy loess hills declined,whereas the unstable trends in the other geomorphic units enhanced.Eco-environmental quality varied among different geomorphic units.The expansion of construction land and degradation of forestland,grassland and wetland resulted in the deterioration of eco-environmental quality.The conversion of cropland and unused land into forestland and grassland,and the conversion of grassland into forestland were the main factors that drove the improvement of eco-environmental quality.The findings of this study may provide theoretical reference and support decision making for the optimization of land use structure and the improvement of eco-environmental quality on the Chinese Loess Plateau.SONG Yongyong XUE Dongqian DAI Lanhai WANG Pengtao HUANG Xiaogang XIA Siyou 2020Journal of Arid Land2020,12,1:14
2In vivo theranostics with near-infraredemitting carbon dots—highly efficient photothermal therapy based on passive targeting after intravenous administration显示文摘Carbon dots that exhibit near-infrared fluorescence(NIR CDs)are considered emerging nanomaterials for advanced biomedical applications with low toxicity and superior photostability and targeting compared to currently used photoluminescence agents.Despite progress in the synthesis of NIR CDs,there remains a key obstacle to using them as an in vivo theranostic agent.This work demonstrates that the newly developed sulfur and nitrogen codoped NIR CDs are highly efficient in photothermal therapy(PTT)in mouse models(conversion efficiency of 59%)and can be readily visualized by photoluminescence and photoacoustic imaging.The real theranostic potential of NIR CDs is enhanced by their unique biodistribution and targeting.Contrary to all other nanomaterials that have been tested in biomedicine,they are excreted through the body’s renal filtration system.Moreover,after intravenous injection,NIR CDs are accumulated in tumor tissue via passive targeting,without any active species such as antibodies.Due to their accumulation in tumor tissue without the need for intratumor injection,high photothermal conversion,excellent optical and photoacoustic imaging performance,and renal excretion,the developed CDs are suitable for transfer to clinical biomedical practice.Xin Bao Ye Yuan Jingqin Chen Bohan Zhang Di Li Ding Zhou Pengtao Jing Guiying Xu Yingli Wang Kateřina Holá Dezhen Shen Changfeng Wu Liang Song Chengbo Liu Radek Zbořil Songnan Qu 2018Light(Science & Applications)2018,7,1:13
3Identification and primary genetic analysis of Arabidopsis stomatal mutants in response to multiple stresses显示文摘In response to variable environmental conditions, guard cells located in the leaf epidermis can integrate and cope with a multitude of complicated stimuli, thereby making stomata in an appro- priate state. However, many signaling components in guard cell signaling remain elusive. In our laboratory, a tool for non-invasive remote infrared thermal images was used to screen an ethyl methane sulfonate-mutagenized population for Arabidopsis stomatal response mutants under multiple stresses (ABA, H2O2, CO2, etc.). More than forty 'hot' or 'cold' mutants were isolated (above or below 0.5℃ in con- trast to normal plantlets). Identification and primary genetic analysis of these mutants show that they are monogenic recessive mutations and there exist distinct difference in stomata apertures compared to wild type. 4A vacuole localized β-glucosidase contributes to drought tolerance in Arabidopsis显示文摘The phytohormone abscisic acid (ABA) plays a critical role in plant growth, development, and adaptation to various stress conditions. The cellular ABA level is constantly adjusted to respond to changing physiological and environmental conditions. To date, the mechanisms for fine-tuning ABA levels remain elusive. Here, we report that BGLU10, a member of a multigene family of β-glucosidases, contributes to drought tolerance in Arabidopsis. The T-DNA insertion mutant bglu10 exhibited a droughtsensitive phenotype, characterized by an increased rate of water loss, and lower leaf temperature, β-glucosidase activity, ABA content, and expressions of ABA-and drought-responsive genes under drought stress. In contrast, lines overexpressing BGLU10 showed greater drought resistance than that of the wild-type, as shown by decreased water loss via transpiration, higher β-glucosidase activity, ABA level, and expressions of ABA- and stress-responsive genes under drought stress. Transient expression of BGLU10::GFP and γ-TIP1::RFP in mesophyll cell protoplasts showed that the BGLU10 enzyme protein was localized to the vacuole. 5Compound Gaoziban tablet(复方高滋斑片) alleviates depression via toll-like receptor 4/myeloid differentiation factor 88/nuclear factor-kappa B pathway显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the effect of compound Gaoziban tablet(复方高滋斑片, CGZBT) on depression, and to investigate the underlying mechanism. METHODS: The components of CGZBT were analysed by high-performance liquid chromatography. Then, we assessed the effects of varying doses of CGZBT on an established chronic unpredictable mild stress(CUMS) model in rats. Whether animals were depressed was evaluated by sucrose preference test, open field test and forced swimming test. Neurotransmitters of hippocampus were detected by liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry. Serum levels of tumor necrosis factor-alpha(TNF-α), interleukin(IL)-1β, IL-6, IL-4, and IL-10 were measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Expressions of toll-like receptor 4(TLR4), myeloid differentiation factor 88(My D88), phospho-nuclear factorkappa B(p-NF-κB), cyclooxygenase-2(COX-2), ionized calcium binding adapter molecule-1(IBA-1) were assessed by immunohistochemical staining and western blotting. RESULTS: Eight compounds were identified from CGZBT, moreover, our results showed that CGZBT effectively reversed the CUMS-induced decrease in sucrose preference, shortened the movement distance and prolonged immobility time. CGZBT significantly increased levels of 5-hydroxytryptamine, dopamine, norepinephrine, 5-hydroxyindoleacetic acid levels, and reduced the expression of TNF-α, IL-1β, IL-6, yet increased IL-4 and IL-10. Furthermore, the expressions of TLR4, My D88, COX-2, p-NF-κB and IBA-1 in hippocampus were effectively reversed after treatment with CGZBT. 7Genetic dissection of the powdery mildew resistance in wheat breeding line LS5082 using BSR-Seq显示文摘Powdery mildew of wheat is a destructive disease seriously threatening yield and quality worldwide.Comprehensive dissection of new resistance-related loci/genes is necessary to control this disease.LS5082 is a Chinese wheat breeding line with resistance to powdery mildew.Genetic analysis,using the populations of LS5082 and three susceptible parents(Shannong 29,Shimai 22 and Huixianhong),indicated that a single dominant gene,tentatively designated PmLS5082,conferred seedling resistance to different Blumeria graminis f.sp.tritici(Bgt)isolates.Bulked segregant RNA-Seq was carried out to map PmLS5082 and to profile differentially expressed genes associated with PmLS5082.PmLS5082 was mapped to a 0.7 cM genetic interval on chromosome arm 2BL,which was aligned to a 0.7 Mb physical interval of 710.3–711.0 Mb.PmLS5082 differs from the known powdery mildew(Pm)resistance genes on chromosome arm 2BL based on their origin,chromosome positions and/or resistance spectrum,suggesting PmLS5082 is most likely a new Pm gene/allele.Through clusters of orthologous groups and kyoto encyclopedia of genes and genomes analyses,differentially expressed genes(DEGs)associated with PmLS5082 were profiled.Six DEGs in the PmLS5082 interval were confirmed to be associated with PmLS5082 via qPCR analysis,using an additional set of wheat samples and time-course analysis postinoculation with Bgt isolate E09.Ten closely linked markers,including two kompetitive allele-specific PCR markers,were confirmed to be suitable for marker-assisted selection of PmLS5082 in different genetic backgrounds,thus can be used to detect PmLS5082 and pyramid it with other genes in breeding programs.Liru Wu Tong Zhu Huagang He Xinyou Cao Haosheng Li Hongxing Xu Mengshu Jia Lipei Zhang Jiancheng Song Ghader Mirzaghaderi Cheng Liu Pengtao Ma 2022The Crop Journal2022,10,4:1

9GA Associated Dwarf 5 encodes an ent-kaurenoic acid oxidase required for maize gibberellin biosynthesis and morphogenesis显示文摘Gibberellin(GA)functions in plant growth and development.However,genes involved in the biosynthesis and regulation of GA in crop plants are poorly understood.We isolated the mutant gad5-1(GAAssociated Dwarf 5),characterized by dwarfing,short internodes,and dark green and short leaves.Map-based gene cloning and allelic verification confirmed that ZmGAD5 encodes ent-kaurenoic acid oxidase(KAO),which catalyzes KA(ent-kaurenoic acid)to GA12 conversion during GA biosynthesis in maize.ZmGAD5 is localized to the endoplasmic reticulum and is present in multiple maize organs.In gad5-1,the expression of ZmGAD5 is severely reduced,and the levels of the direct substrate of KAO,KA,is increased,leading to a reduction in GA content.The abnormal phenotype of gad5-1 was restored by exogenous application of GA3.The biomass,plant height,and levels of GA12 and GA3 in transgenic Arabidopsis overexpressing ZmGAD5 were increased in comparison with the corresponding controls Col-0.These findings deepen our understanding of genes involved in GA biosynthesis,and could lead to the development of maize lines with improved architecture and higher planting-density tolerance.Zuliang Li Baozhu Li Junli Zhang Hongliang Wang Mao Wang Siyi Guo Pengtao Wang Zhi Li David WGalbraith Dandan Li Chun-Peng Song 2023The Crop Journal2023,11,6:1
