1Effects of oxymatrine on experimental hepatic fibrosis and its mechanism in vivo显示文摘AIM:Hepatic fibrogenesis has close relation with hepatic stellate cells (HSC) and tissue inhibitors of metalloproteinase (TIMP). Oxymatrine (OM) is a kind of Chinese herb that is found to have some effects on liver fibrosis. We aimed to determine the effects of OM on hepatic fibrosis and explore the possible mechanism.METHODS: Thirty-two rats were randomly divided into four groups; 16 were used to develop hepatic fibrosis by carbon tetrachloride (CCl4) and treated with or without OM, and 16were used as controls. The expression of tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinase-1 (TIMP-1) and α-smooth muscle actin (α-SMA) in the livers of rats was detected by immunohistochemical assay. Liver pathology was determined by H&E staining and reticulum staining.RESULTS: In CCl4-injured rats, the normal structure of lobules was destroyed, and pseudolobules were formed. Hyperplasia of fibers was observed surrounding the lobules. While the degree of fibrogenesis in liver tissues was significantly decreased in those rats with OM-treatment compared with those without OM treatment. The pseudolobules were surrounded by strong, multi-layer reticular fibers, which netted into pseudolobules in CCl4-injured rats, however,there was a significant decrease in reticular fibers in OMtreated rats. The expression of TIMP-1 in hepatic cells was weak in control groups, but strong in CCl4-injured groups,however, the expression ofTIMP-1 was significantly inhibited by OM (F = 52.93, P<0.05). There was no significant change in the expression of α-SMA between CCl4-injured rats with or without OM treatment (F= 8.99, P>0.05).CONCLUSION: OM effectively inhibits CCl4-induced fibrogenesis in rat liver tissues, probably by reducing the expression level of TIMP-1.Guang-FengShi QianLi 2005World Journal of Gastroenterology2005,11,2:30
2Newborn screening with targeted sequencing:a multicenter investigation and a pilot clinical study in China显示文摘Different newborn screening(NBS) programs have been practiced in many countries since the 1960 s. It is of considerable interest whether next-generation sequencing is applicable in NBS. We have developed a panel of 465 causative genes for 596 early-onset, relatively high incidence, and potentially actionable severe inherited diseases in our Newborn Screening with Targeted Sequencing(NESTS) program to screen 11,484 babies in 8 Women and Children’s hospitals nationwide in China retrospectively. The positive rate from preliminary screening of NESTS was 7.85%(902/11,484). With 45.89%(414/902) follow-up of preliminary positive cases, the overall clinically confirmative diagnosis rate of monogenic disorders was 12.07%(50/414), estimating an average of 0.95%(7.85% × 12.07%) clinical diagnosis rate, suggesting that monogenic disorders account for a considerable proportion of birth defects. The disease/gene spectrum varied in different regions of China. NESTS was implemented in a hospital by screening 3923 newborns to evaluate its clinical application. The turn-around time of a primary report, including the sequencing period of < 7 days, was within 11 days by our automatic interpretation pipeline. 3In-plane forced vibration of curved pipe conveying fluid by Green function method显示文摘The Green function method(GFM) is utilized to analyze the in-plane forced vibration of curved pipe conveying fluid, where the randomicity and distribution of the external excitation and the added mass and damping ratio are considered. The Laplace transform is used, and the Green functions with various boundary conditions are obtained subsequently. Numerical calculations are performed to validate the present solutions, and the effects of some key parameters on both tangential and radial displacements are further investigated. The forced vibration problems with linear and nonlinear motion constraints are also discussed briefly. 4Significant downward trend of SO_2 observed from 2005 to 2010 at a background station in the Yangtze Delta region,China显示文摘SO2 is an important gas in atmosphere with great environmental and climate implications.SO2 emission in China has been receiving great attention as the economy grows and the amount of coal consumption has increased in the past few decades.SO2 has been observed from July 2005 to June 2010 at Linan WMO GAW regional station(30.3 °N,119.73 °E,138 m a.s.l.) located in the Yangtze Delta region in eastern China.These observation data are analyzed to understand the trend of regional SO2 background concentration.Strict quality controls are conducted to ensure the temporal comparability of the data.Significant downward trend with ?2.4 ppb/yr(P < 0.0001) of surface SO2 is observed from 2005 to 2010,especially after 2008.The average concentration of SO2 from July 2005 to June 2008 is 14.2±3.1 ppb,which is slightly higher than the mean values of 13.5±5.1 ppb during 1999?2000 and is two folds of the average value(7.1±3.1 ppb) from July 2008 to June 2010.More than 50% of the SO2 has been cut down after 2008 in the Yangtze Delta region due to the implementation of stricter emission control measures.The peak SO2 concentration appears around 10 o'clock in the morning after 2009 while appears at night before 2009.These diurnal variations of SO2 might indicate that after 2009,more SO2 is from the vertical exchange process than from the local accumulation.QI HuangXiong LIN WeiLi XU XiaoBin YU XiangMing MA QianLi 2012Science China Chemistry2012,55,7:7
5Comparing the regeneration potential between PLLA/Aragonite and PLLA/ Vaterite pearl composite scaffolds in rabbit radius segmental bone defects显示文摘Mussel-derived nacre and pearl,which are natural composites composed CaCO3 platelets and interplatelet organic matrix,have recently gained interest due to their osteogenic potential.The crystal form of CaCO3 could be either aragonite or vaterite depending on the characteristics of mineralization template within pearls.So far,little attention has been paid on the different osteogenic capacities between aragonite and vaterite pearl.In the current work,aragonite or vaterite pearl powders were incorporated into poly-L-lactic acid(PLLA)scaffold as bio-functional fillers for enhanced osteogenesis.In intro results revealed that PLLA/aragonite scaffold possessed stronger stimulatory effect on SaOS-2 cell proliferation and differentiation,evidenced by the enhanced cell viability,alkaline phosphatase activity,collagen synthesis and gene expressions of osteogenic markers including osteocalcin,osteopotin and bone sialoprotein.The bone regeneration potential of various scaffolds was evaluated in vivo employing a rabbit critical-sized radial bone defect model.The X-ray and micro-CT results showed that significant bone regeneration and bridging were achieved in defects implanted with composite scaffolds,while less bone formation and non-bridging were found for pure PLLA group.Histological evaluation using Masson's trichrome and hematoxylin/eosin(H&E)staining indicated a typical endochondral bone formation process conducted at defect sites treated with composite scaffolds.Through three-point bending test,the limbs implanted with PLLA/aragonite scaffold were found to bear significantly higher bending load compared to other two groups.Together,it is suggested that aragonite pearl has superior osteogenic capacity over vaterite pearl and PLLA/aragonite scaffold can be employed as a potential bone graft for bone regeneration.Qianli Huang Yuansheng Liu Zhengxiao Ouyang Qingling Feng 2020Bioactive Materials2020,5,4:7
6Surgical Therapeutic Strategy for Non-small Cell Lung Cancer with Mediastinal Lymph Node Metastasis (N2)显示文摘Background and objective Approximately 30% of patients who are diagnosed with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) are classified as N2 on the basis of metastasis to the mediastinal lymph nodes. The effectiveness of surgery for these patients remains controversial. Although surgeries in recent years are proved to be effective to some extent,yet due to many reasons,5-year survival rate after surgery varies greatly from patient to patient. Thus it is necessary to select patients who have a high probability of being be cured through an operation,who are suitable to receive surgery and the best surgical methods so as to figure out the conditions under which surgical treatment can be chosen and the factors that may influence prognosis. Methods 165 out of 173 patients with N2 NSCLC were treated with surgery in our department from January 1999 to May 2003,among whom 130 were male,43 female and the sex ratio was 3:1,average age 53,ranging from 29 to 79. The database covers the patients’ complete medical history including the information of their age,sex,location and size of tumor,date of operation,surgical methods,histologic diagnosis,clinical stage,post-operative TNM stage,neoadjuvant treatment and chemoradiotherapy. The methods of clinical stage verification include chest X-ray,chest CT,PET,mediastinoscopy,bronchoscope (+?),brain CT or MRI,abdominal B ultrasound (or CT),and bone ECT. The pathological classification was based on the international standard for lung cancer (UICC 1997). Survival time was analyzed from the operation date to May 2008 with the aid of SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences) program. Kaplan-Meier survival analysis,Log-rank test and Cox multiplicity were adopted respectively to obtain patients’ survival curve,survival rate and the impact possible factors may have on their survival rate. Results The median survival time was 22 months,with 3-year survival rate reaching 28.1% and 5-year survival rate reaching 19.0%. Age,sex,different histological classification and postoperative chemoradiotherapy seem to have no correlation with 5-year survival rate. In all N2 subtypes,5-year survival rate is remarkably higher for unexpected N2 discovered at thoractomy and proven N2 stage before preoperative work-up and receive a mediastinal down-staging after induction therapy (P<0.01),reaching 30.4% and 27.3% respectively. 5-year survival rate for single station lymph node metastasis were 27.8%,much higher compared with 9.3% for multiple stations (P<0.001). Induction therapy which downstages proven N2 in 73.3% patients gains them the opportunity of surgery. The 5-year survival rate were 23.6% and 13.0% for patients who had complete resection and those who had incomplete resection (P<0.001). Patients who underwent lobectomy (23.2%) have higher survival rate,less incidence rate of complication and mortality rate,compared with pneumonectomy (14.8%) (P<0.01). T4 patients has a 5-year survival rate as low as 11.1%,much less than T1 (31.5%) and T2 (24.3%) patients (P=0.01). It is noted through Cox analysis that completeness of resection,number of positive lymph node stations and primary T status have significant correlativity with 5-year survival rate. Conclusion It is suggested that surgery (lobectomy preferentially) is the best solution for T1 and T2 with primary tumor have not invaded pleura or the distance to carina of trachea no less than 2 cm,unexpected N2 discovered at thoractomy when a complete resection can be applied,and proven N2 discovered during preoperative work-up and is down-staged after induction therapy. Surgical treatment is the best option,lobectomy should be prioritized in operational methods since ite rate of complication and morality are lower than that of pneumonectomy. Patients’ survival time will not benefit from surgery if they are with lymph nodes metastasis of multiple stations (Bulky N2 included) and T4 which can be partially removed. Neoadjuvant chemotherapy increases long-term survival rate of those with N2 proven prior to surgery. There are two kinds of testbeds,testbed networks like CNGI-CERNET2,Internet2,Geant;testbed systems like PlanetLab,NS2. DRAGON-Lab can be viewed as both testbed network and testbed system. DRAGON-Lab is an independent AS(autonomous system) and connected to multiple real networks. On the other hand,DRAGON-Lab integrates many resources of its own,partners' and internet's,so as to provide open service. DRAGON-Lab has a large scale,provides open service,supports remote visualized experiments and programmable experiments. 8Morphology,composition,and sources of individual aerosol particles at a regional background site of the YRD,China显示文摘Aerosol samples were collected at Lin'an, a background site of Yangtze River Delta(YRD).Morphology, size, composition, and mixing state of individual aerosol particles were characterized by transmission electron microscopy(TEM) coupled with energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy(EDS), and the soluble ions of PM_(1.0) were studied by aerosol mass spectrometer(AMS). The daily average AMS mass concentrations of sulfate, nitrate, and ammonium were about 5.8, 8.6, and 5.6 μg/m^3, respectively. Individual aerosol particles were classified into seven types: S-rich, K-rich, organic matter(OM), soot, fly ash, metal, and mineral. S-rich particles were dominant in all size bins, and 51%(by number) of S-rich particles were internally mixed with other particles. The fraction of organic coating particles was 13.7% in morning, 25.2% in afternoon, and 11% in evening, suggesting that the strong photochemical process during afternoon produced more secondary organic aerosols(SOA) on the surface of inorganic particles. Fly ash and metal particles were abundant during the day, suggesting the influence of emissions from coal-fired power plants and steel plants. The results indicate that the intense industrial emissions in the YRD significantly transported to the background areas. 12A survey on ensemble learning显示文摘Despite significant successes achieved in knowledge discovery,traditional machine learning methods may fail to obtain satisfactory performances when dealing with complex data,such as imbalanced,high-dimensional,noisy data,etc.The reason behind is that it is difficult for these methods to capture multiple characteristics and underlying structure of data.In this context,it becomes an important topic in the data mining field that how to effectively construct an efficient knowledge discovery and mining model.Ensemble learning,as one research hot spot,aims to integrate data fusion,data modeling,and data mining into a unified framework.Specifically,ensemble learning firstly extracts a set of features with a variety of transformations.Based on these learned features,multiple learning algorithms are utilized to produce weak predictive results.Finally,ensemble learning fuses the informative knowledge from the above results obtained to achieve knowledge discovery and better predictive performance via voting schemes in an adaptive way.In this paper,we review the research progress of the mainstream approaches of ensemble learning and classify them based on different characteristics.In addition,we present challenges and possible research directions for each mainstream approach of ensemble learning,and we also give an extra introduction for the combination of ensemble learning with other machine learning hot spots such as deep learning,reinforcement learning,etc.Xibin DONG Zhiwen YU Wenming CAO Yifan SHI Qianli MA 2020Frontiers of Computer Science2020,14,2:4
13Response of Microbial Community to Petroleum Stress and Phosphate Dosage in Sediments of Jiaozhou Bay, China显示文摘The dynamic microcosms were used to evaluate the effect of oil spills on microbial ecological system in marine sediment and the enhancement of nutrient on the oil removal. The function and structure of microbial community caused by the oil pollution and phosphate dosage were simultaneously monitored by dehydrogenase activity assay and PCR-denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis(DGGE) techniques. The results indicated that the amount of total bacteria in all dynamic microcosms declined rapidly with incubation time. The number of petroleum-degrading bacteria and the activity of sediment dehydrogenase were gradually enhanced by petroleum in the oil-treated microcosms, while they both showed no obvious response to phosphate dosage. In comparison, phosphate spiked heterotrophic bacteria and they showed a significant increase in amount. DGGE profiles indicated that petroleum dosage greatly changed community structure, and the bacteria belonged to class Deltaproteobacteria, and phyla Bacteroidetes and Chlorobi were enriched. This study demonstrated that petroleum input greatly impacted the microbial community structure and consequently the marine sediment petroleum-degrading activity was enhanced. 14Incorporation of silica nanoparticles to PLGA electrospun fibers for osteogenic differentiation of human osteoblast-like cells显示文摘The development of bone tissue engineering scaffolds still remains a challenging field,although various biomaterials have been developed for this purpose.Electrospinning is a promising approach to fabricate nanofibers with an interconnected porous structure,which can support cell adhesion,guide cell proliferation and regulate cell differentiation.The aim of this study is to fabricate composite fibers composed of poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid)(PLGA)and silica nanoparticles(NPs)via electrospinning and investigate the effect of PLGA/SiO_(2)composite fibers on the cellular response of osteoblast-like cells(SaOS-2 cells).SEM and EDX analysis showed that silica NPs were homogenously dispersed in the composite fibers.The mechanical behavior of the fibers showed that silica NPs acted as reinforcements at concentrations of 2.5 and 5 mg/ml.The incorporation of silica NPs led to enhancement of cell attachment and spreading on PLGA/SiO_(2)composite fibers.SaOS-2 cells cultured on PLGA/SiO_(2)composite fibers exhibited increased alkaline phosphatase activity,collagen secretion and bone nodules formation.The bone nodules formation of SaOS-2 cells increased along with the amount of incorporated silica NPs.The present findings indicate that PLGA/SiO_(2)composite fibers can stimulate osteogenic differentiation of SaOS-2 cells and may be a promising candidate scaffold for bone tissue engineering.Xing Yang Yuanyuan Li Xujie Liu Qianli Huang Ranran Zhang Qingling Feng 2018Regenerative Biomaterials2018,5,4:4
15Characteristics of Hydrogen Storage Alloy Mg_2Ni Produced by Hydriding Combustion Synthesis显示文摘A high activity and large capacity of hydrogen storage alloy Mg2Ni by hydriding combustion synthesis was investigatedby means of pressure composition isotherms, X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy. The results showedthat the maximum hydrogen absorption capacity of Mg2Ni is 3.25 mass fraction at 523 K, just after synthesis withoutany activation. The relationships between the equilibrium plateau pressure and the temperature for Mg2Ni were lgp(0.1 Mpa)=3026/T+5.814 (523 K≤ T ≤623 K) for hydriding and Igp (0.1 Mpa)=-3613/T+6.715 (523 K≤T ≤623 K) for dehydriding. 16Powder metallurgical Ti-Mg metal-metal composites facilitate osteoconduction and osseointegration for orthopedic application显示文摘In this work,TieMg metal-metal composites(MMCs)were successfully fabricated by spark plasma sintering(SPS).In vitro,the proliferation and differentiation of SaOS-2 cells in response to TieMg metal-metal composites(MMCs)were investigated.In vivo,a rat model with femur condyle defect was employed,and TieMg MMCs implants were embedded into the femur condyles.Results showed that TieMg MMCs exhibited enhanced cytocompatibility to SaOS-2 cells than pure Ti.The micro-computed tomography(Micro-CT)results showed that the volume of bone trabecula was significantly more abundant around TieMg implants than around Ti implants,indicating that more active new-bone formed around TieMg MMCs implants.Hematoxylin-eosin(H&E)staining analysis revealed significantly greater osteointegration around TieMg implants than that around Ti implants.Sihui Ouyang Qianli Huang Yong Liu Zhengxiao Ouyang Luxin Liang 2019Bioactive Materials2019,4,1:4
17Photoinduced large polaron transport and dynamics in organic-inorganic hybrid lead halide perovskite with terahertz probes显示文摘Organic-inorganic hybrid metal halide perovskites(MHPs)have attracted tremendous attention for optoelectronic applications.The long photocarrier lifetime and moderate carrier mobility have been proposed as results of the large polaron formation in MHPs.However,it is challenging to measure the effective mass and carrier scattering parameters of the photogenerated large polarons in the ultrafast carrier recombination dynamics.Here,we show,in a one-step spectroscopic method,that the optical-pump and terahertz-electromagnetic probe(OPTP)technique allows us to access the nature of interplay of photoexcited unbound charge carriers and optical phonons in polycrystalline CH_(3)NH_(3)PbI_(3)(MAPbI_(3))of about 10μm grain size.Firstly,we demonstrate a direct spectral evidence of the large polarons in polycrystalline MAPbI_(3).Using the Drude-Smith-Lorentz model along with the Frӧhlich-type electron-phonon(e-ph)coupling,we determine the effective mass and scattering parameters of photogenerated polaronic carriers.We discover that the resulting moderate polaronic carrier mobility is mainly influenced by the enhanced carrier scattering,rather than the polaron mass enhancement.While,the formation of large polarons in MAPbI_(3)polycrystalline grains results in a long charge carrier lifetime at room temperature.Our results provide crucial information about the photo-physics of MAPbI3 and are indispensable for optoelectronic device development with better performance.Zuanming Jin Yan Peng Yuqing Fang Zhijiang Ye Zhiyuan Fan Zhilin Liu Xichang Bao Heng Gao Wei Ren Jing Wu Guohong Ma Qianli Chen Chao Zhang Alexey VBalakin Alexander PShkurinov Yiming Zhu Songlin Zhuang 2022Light(Science & Applications)2022,11,8:4
18Genomic characterizations of H4 subtype avian influenza viruses from live poultry markets in Sichuan province of China, 2014–2015显示文摘Dear Editor,Avian influenza viruses (AIVs) have posed a serious threat to poultry production and public health. To date, more than fourteen AIV subtypes that are able to infect human beings have been documented. Also, it is suggested that new subtypes may be reported in the future, owing to the migration of wild birds and live poultry transportation (Gao, 2018).Poultry may act as a potential incubator for novel subtypes of avian influenza virus (Bi et al., 2016a; Bi et al., 2016b; Liu et al., 2014a; Su et al., 2017). 19A Survey on Low Complexity Detectors for OTFS Systems显示文摘The newly emerging orthogonal time frequency space(OTFS)modulation can ob⁃tain delay-Doppler diversity gain to significantly improve the system performance in high mobility wireless communication scenarios such as vehicle-to-everything(V2X),high-speed railway and unmanned aerial vehicles(UAV),by employing inverse symplectic finite Fouri⁃er transform(ISFFT)and symplectic finite Fourier transform(SFFT).However,OTFS modu⁃lation will dramatically increase system complexity,especially at the receiver side.Thus,de⁃signing low complexity OTFS receiver is a key issue for OTFS modulation to be adopted by new-generation wireless communication systems.In this paper,we review low complexity OTFS detectors and provide some insights on future researches.We firstly present the OTFS system model and basic principles,followed by an overview of OTFS detector structures,classifications and comparative discussion.We also survey the principles of OTFS detection algorithms.Furthermore,we discuss the design of hybrid OTFS and orthogonal frequency di⁃vision multiplexing(OFDM)detectors in single user and multi-user multi-waveform commu⁃nication systems.Finally,we address the main challenges in designing low complexity OT⁃FS detectors and identify some future research directions.ZHANG Zhengquan LIU Heng WANG Qianli FAN Pingzhi 2021ZTE Communications2021,19,4:3
20Evolution and protein interactions of AP2 proteins in Brassicaceae: Evidence linking development and environmental responses显示文摘Plants have evolved a large number of transcription factors(TF), which are enriched among duplicate genes,highlighting their roles in complex regulatory networks. The APETALA2/EREBP-like genes constitute a large plant TF family and participate in development and stress responses. To probe the conservation and divergence of AP2/EREBP genes,we analyzed the duplication patterns of this family in Brassicaceae and identified interacting proteins of representative Arabidopsis AP2/EREBP proteins. We found that many AP2/EREBP duplicates generated early in Brassicaceae history were quickly lost, but many others were retained in all tested Brassicaceae species, suggesting early functional divergence followed by persistent conservation. In addition,the sequences of the AP2 domain and exon numbers were highly conserved in rosids. Furthermore, we used 16 A.thaliana AP2/EREBP proteins as baits in yeast screens and identified 1,970 potential AP2/EREBP-interacting proteins,with a small subset of interactions verified in planta. Many AP2 genes also exhibit reduced expression in an antherdefective mutant, providing a possible link to developmental regulation. The putative AP2-interacting proteins participate in many functions in development and stress responses,including photomorphogenesis, flower development, pathogenesis, drought and cold responses, abscisic acid and auxin signaling.
