2Chemical characteristics and source apportionment of PM_(2.5) between heavily polluted days and other days in Zhengzhou, China显示文摘PM_(2.5) samples were collected in Zhengzhou during 3 years of observation, and chemical characteristics and source contribution were analyzed. Approximately 96% of the daily PM_(2.5) concentrations and annual average values exceeded the Chinese National Ambient Air Quality Daily and Annual Standards, indicating serious PM_(2.5) pollution. The average concentration of water-soluble inorganic ions was 2.4 times higher in heavily polluted days(daily PM32.5 concentrations > 250 μg/mand visibility < 3 km) than that in other days, with sulfate, nitrate, and ammonium as major ions. According to the ratio of NO-3/SO2-4,stationary sources are still the dominant source of PM_(2.5) and vehicle emission could not be ignored. The ratio of secondary organic carbon to organic carbon indicated that photochemical reactivity in heavily polluted days was more intense than in other days.Crustal elements were the most abundant elements, accounting for more than 60% of 23 elements. Chemical Mass Balance results indicated that the contributions of major sources(i.e., nitrate, sulfate, biomass, carbon and refractory material, coal combustion, soil dust,vehicle, and industry) of PM_(2.5) were 13%, 16%, 12%, 2%, 14%, 8%, 7%, and 8% in heavily polluted days and 20%, 18%, 9%, 2%, 27%, 14%, 15%, and 9% in other days, respectively.Extensive combustion activities were the main sources of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons during the episode(Jan 1-9, 2015) and the total benzo[a]pyrene equivalency concentrations in heavily polluted days present significant health threat. 3Role of PERK/eIF2α/CHOP Endoplasmic Reticulum Stress Pathway in Oxidized Low-density Lipoprotein Mediated Induction of Endothelial Apoptosis显示文摘Objective PERK/eI F2α/CHOP is a major signaling pathway mediating endoplasmic reticulum(ER) stress related with atherosclerosis.Oxidized LDL(ox-LDL) also induces endothelial apoptosis and plays a vital role in the initiation and progression of atherosclerosis.The present study was conducted to explore the regulatory effect of ox-LDL on PERK/e IF2α/CHOP signaling pathway in vascular endothelial cells.Methods The effects of ox-LDL on PERK and p-e IF2α protein expression of primary human umbilical vein endothelial cells(HUVECs) were investigated by Western blot analysis.PERK gene silencing and selective eI F2α phosphatase inhibitor,salubrinal were used to inhibit the process of ox-LDL induced endothelial cell apoptosis,caspase-3 activity,and CHOP mR NA level.Results Ox-LDL treatment significantly increased the expression of PERK,PERK-mediated inactivation of e IF2α phosphorylation,and the expression of CHOP,as well as the caspase-3 activity and apoptosis.The effects of ox-LDL were markedly decreased by knocking down PERK with stable transduction of lentiviral sh RNA or by selective eI F2α phosphatase inhibitor,salubrinal.Conclusion This study provides the first evidence that ox-LDL induces apoptosis in vascular endothelial cells mediated largely via the PERK/eI F2α/CHOP ER-stress pathway.It adds new insights into the molecular mechanisms underlying the pathogenesis and progression of atherosclerosis.TAO Yong Kang YU Pu Lin BAI Yong Ping YAN Sheng Tao ZHAO Shui Ping ZHANG Guo Qiang 2016Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2016,29,12:21

6A New Critical Nitrogen Dilution Curve for Rice Nitrogen Status Diagnosis in Northeast China显示文摘In-season diagnosis of crop nitrogen(N) status is crucial for precision N management. Critical N(N_c) dilution curve and N nutrition index(NNI) have been proposed as effective methods to diagnose N status of different crops. The N_c dilution curves have been developed for indica rice in the tropical and temperate zones and japonica rice in the subtropical-temperate zone, but they have not been evaluated for short-season japonica rice in Northeast China. The objectives of this study were to evaluate the previously developed N_c dilution curves for rice in Northeast China and to develop a more suitable N_c dilution curve in this region. A total of17 N rate experiments were conducted in Sanjiang Plain, Heilongjiang Province in Northeast China from 2008 to 2013. The results indicated that none of the two previously developed N_c dilution curves was suitable to diagnose N status of the short-season japonica rice in Northeast China. A new N_c dilution curve was developed and can be described by the equation N_c = 27.7 W^(-0.34) if W ≥ 1 Mg dry matter(DM) ha^(-1) or N_c = 27.7 g kg^(-1) DM if W < 1 Mg DM ha^(-1), where W is the aboveground biomass. This new curve was lower than the previous curves. It was validated using a separate dataset, and it could discriminate non-N-limiting and N-limiting nutritional conditions. 7Effect of metabolic syndrome on prognosis and clinical characteristics of revascularization in patients with coronary artery disease显示文摘Background People with metabolic syndrome are at higher risk for developing coronary artery disease (CAD). The effect of the metabolic syndrome on outcomes in patients with preexisting CAD has not been well studied. This study was conducted to assess the prevalence, characteristics, in hospital and long term prognosis of CAD with metabolic syndrome and to determine the factors influencing the prognosis of the disease. Methods The DESIRE registry contains data of 3696 patients with CAD between 2001 and 2004. Mean long term followup was (829±373) days. Diagnosis of metabolic syndrome was based on modified International Diabetes Federation (IDF) Worldwide Definition of the Metabolic Syndrome,using body mass index (BMI) instead of waist circumference. Results Of 2596 patients with complete records of height, weight, and so on, 1280 (49.3%) were identified with metabolic syndrome. The patients with metabolic syndrome had higher level of body mass index, systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, fasting glucose and disordered blood lipid (all P<0.0001), with higher creatinine [(10.5±4.3) mg/L vs (9.9±2.9) mg/L, P<0.0001] and the number of white blood cells [(7.49±2.86) ×109/L vs (7.19±2.62) ×109/L, P=0.008) compared with those without metabolic syndrome. The patients with metabolic syndrome showed severer coronary angiographic alterations (left main artery and/or ≥2-vessel) (73.6% vs 69.6%, P=0.031). There were no significant differences of major adverse cardiac and cerebral events (MACCE) or mortality in hospital between the two groups. During followup, the ratio of MACCE in CAD with metabolic syndrome patients increased significantly (11.8% vs 10.0%, P=0.044). Fasting blood glucose (≥1000 mg/L) and triglyceride (TG, ≥1500 mg/L) were responsible for most of the increased risk associated with the metabolic syndrome (adjusted OR 1.465, 95% CI 1.037-1.874, P=0.032; OR 1.378, 95% CI 1.014-1.768, P=0.044). Conclusions The prevalence of metabolic syndrome was very high in CAD patients. 11The effect of Y,Ce and Gd on texture,recrystallization and mechanical property of Mg-Zn alloys显示文摘The effect of Gd,Ce and Y elements on texture,recrystallization and mechanical properties of Mg–1.5Zn alloys was investigated.The results show that the addition of Gd,Ce and Y elements in Mg–1.5Zn alloy,which rolled at 450℃ and subsequently annealed at 350℃ for 1h,can effectively weaken and modify the basal texture,characterized by the splitting basal pole toward to transverse direction,leading to the yield and tensile strength,the highest along the rolling direction and the lowest along the transverse direction.Besides,the unique basal texture contributes to the significant improvement of elongation at room temperature.Electron back scattering diffraction(EBSD)analysis indicated that the non-basal texture in Mg–1.5Zn–0.2RE alloys can be attributed to obstructive effect of static recrystallization and the non-basal orientation grains nucleation near pre-existing grain boundaries during annealing.Specially,the Mg–1.5Zn–0.2Gd sheet exhibits much excellent plasticity with the elongation of 27%than Mg–1.5Zn–0.2Ce and Mg–1.5Zn–0.2Y alloys,resulting from the less and smaller second phase of MgZnGd.Peng Liu Haitao Jiang Zhengxu Cai Qiang Kang Yun Zhang 2016Journal of Magnesium and Alloys2016,4,3:8
12Microstructure evolution and mechanical property of Mg-3Al alloys with addition of Ca and Gd during rolling and annealing process显示文摘The formability of magnesium alloys at ambient temperature can be enhanced by alloying additions such as Ca and RE elements,which is ascribed to the weakened basal texture.To produce magnesium alloy sheets with excellent comprehensive performance,the evolution of texture characterization during fabrication process and subsequent effect of texture on mechanical properties are vital controlling factors.In this investigation,three experimental Mg-3Al series alloys were hot rolled and annealed to sheets with 1 mm thickness.The microstructure evolution during rolling and annealing process was investigated.Furthermore,the influence of texture on tensile properties along different tensile directions was also studied.The results show that weakened basal texture and refined grains were achieved with the co-addition of Ca and RE element.However,strengthening of mechanical properties wasn't obtained.During hot rolling process,microstructure was refined,second phase particles broken,and basal texture was increased.While basal texture was weakened during annealing process.Recrystallization behavior influenced by formation of second phase was dominated to attenuate basal texture.Tensile deformation behavior was controlled by basal slip and followed Schmid factor criterion.Moreover,the weakened basal texture and activation of non-basal slips during hot rolling process can contribute to diminish the anisotropy of tensile properties.Yun Zhang Haitao Jiang Qiang Kang Yujiao Wang Yonggang Yang Shiwei Tian 2020Journal of Magnesium and Alloys2020,8,3:7
13Kinetics and Mechanism of Interfacial Reaction in a SiC_f/Ti Composite显示文摘In order to evaluate the interfacial reaction, a SiCf/Ti (TA1) composite was fabricated by a vacuum hot pressingmethod and then heat-treated in vacuum at 800℃ for up to 100 h. The elemental distributions of C, Si and Ti at theinterfacial reaction zone were investigated. It was found that the reaction zone occurs during the fabrication processand continuously grows at high temperature because the Si and C atoms diffuse from SiC fibers to the matrix and Tiatoms diffuse in the opposite direction. 1417β-estradiol promotes recovery after myocardial infarction by enhancing homing and angiogenic capacity of bone marrow-derived endothelial progenitor cells through ERa-SDF-1/ CXCR4 crosstalking显示文摘17β-estradiol (E2)has been shown to mediate endothelial progenitor cells (EPCs)to repair infarcted myocardium.Both.estrogen receptor α(ERα)and stromal derived factor-1 (SDF-1)/CXCR4 signaling pathways may play a critical role in regulating homing and angiogenesis of EPCs in this process.However,the interaction between ERa and SDF-1/CXCR4 signaling pathways remains unclear.In response to E2,the expression of SDF-1 and CXCR4 in EPCs from ovariectomized BALB/C mice was obviously up-regulated,in addition,the migration and tube formation of EPCs in vitro were also significantly enhanced.However,ERα antagonist (MMP)and CXCR4 inhibitor (AMD3100)significantly decreased the migration The combined treatment of MMP and AMD3100 and tube length of EPCs,even if mediated by E2. exerted more inhibitory effects on migration and tube formation of EPCs induced by E2.In in vivo studies,ovariectomized mice were induced acute myocardial infarction (AMI),and divided into four groups (n =6):non-preconditioned EPCs (3 × 10^6)group,E2-preconditioned EPCs group,MMP +AMD3100 preconditioned EPCs group,and EPCs pretreated with E2 +MMP +AMD3100 group.E2 group displayed a greater number of homing EPCs,increased capillary density in infarcted myocardium,decreased left ventricular (LV) fibrosis.Nevertheless,these effects of E2 were almost completely blocked by the combined treatment of MMP and AMD3100.E2 can produce cardiovascular protective effects in AMI setting by enhancing homing and angiogenic capacity of EPCs through ERα and CXCR4 signaling pathways, which means that ERα and CXCR4 pathways are effective targets for the development of treatment strategies for AMI.Zhize Yuan Lei Kang Zhe Wang Anqing Chen Qiang Zhao Haiqing Li 2018Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2018,50,12:6
15Texture and stretch formability of rolled Mg–Zn–RE(Y, Ce, and Gd) alloys at room temperature显示文摘To develop a new magnesium alloy with excellent formability at room temperature,the effect of Y,Ce,and Gd addition on texture and stretch formability of Mg–1.5Zn alloys was carried out.The result shows that Y,Ce,and Gd addition in Mg–1.5Zn alloys can effectively weaken and modify the basal plane texture,characterized by TD-split texture in which the position of basal is titled from normal direction(ND)toward transverse direction(TD).When Mg–1.5Zn alloy with Gd addition appears low texture intensity and TD-split texture,where the position of basal poles is tilted by about±35°from ND toward to TD,the largest Erichsen value of 7.0 and the elongation rate reaches 29.1%in TD direction.However,Y and Ce addition in Mg–1.5Zn alloys promote a large number of second phase particles,which cancel the contribution of the unique basal texture to stretch formability and ductility.Zheng-Xu Cai Hai-Tao Jiang Di Tang Zhao Ma Qiang Kang 2013Rare Metals2013,32,5:6
16Understanding the lifestyles and pathogenicity mechanisms of obligate biotrophic fungi in wheat:The emerging genomics era显示文摘Obligate biotrophic fungi cause serious and widespread diseases of crop plants, but are challenging to investigate because they cannot be cultured in vitro. The two economically important groups of biotrophic fungi parasitizing wheat are the rust and powdery mildew pathogens, but their obligate biotrophic lifestyles and pathogenicity mechanisms are not well understood at the molecular level. With the advent of next generation sequencing technology, increasing numbers of pathogen genomes are becoming available. Research in plant pathology has entered a new genomics era. This review summarizes recent progress in understanding the biology and pathogenesis of biotrophic fungal pathogens attacking wheat based on pathogen genomics. We particularly focus on the three wheat rust and the powdery mildew fungi in regard to genome sequencing, avirulence gene cloning, effector discovery, and pathogenomics. 17A novel diffusion model considering curvature radius at the bonding interface in a titanium/steel explosive clad plate显示文摘This article introduces an element diffusion behavior model for a titanium/steel explosive clad plate characterized by a typical curved interface during the heat-treatment process. A series of heat-treatment experiments were conducted in the temperature range from 750°C to 950°C, and the effects of heat-treatment parameters on the microstructural evolution and diffusion behavior were investigated by optical microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction analysis, and electron-probe microanalysis. Carbon atoms within the steel matrix were observed to diffuse toward the titanium matrix and to aggregate at the bonding interface at 850°C or lower; in contrast, when the temperature exceeded 850°C, the mutual diffusion of Ti and Fe occurred, along with the diffusion of C atoms, resulting in the formation of Ti–Fe intermetallics(Fe2Ti/FeTi). The diffusion distances of C, Ti, and Fe atoms increased with increasing heating temperature and/or holding time. On the basis of this diffusion behavior, a novel diffusion model was proposed. This model considers the effects of various factors, including the curvature radius of the curved interface, the diffusion coefficient, the heating temperature, and the holding time. The experimental results show good agreement with the calculated values. 20Elevated Platelet Activating Factor Level in Ischemia-Related Arrhythmia and Its Electrophysiological Effect on Myocardium显示文摘Objective The mechanism through which platelet activating factor (PAF) induces cardiac electrical activity and arrhythmia is not well understood and previous studies have suggested a potential involvement of ion channels in its action. The present study was aimed to clarify the role of PAF in fatal arrhythmias following acute myocardia infarction (AMI) and the underlying mechanism. Methods (1) Blood PAF levels were measured among 72 AMI patients at the time of diagnosis with AMI and 48 h later, and their electrocardiogram (ECG) was recorded continuously. (2) Ischemia simulation and surface electrocardiogram were conducted in 20 pigs and their PAF levels were measured. (3) PAF perfusion and standard microelectrode recording were performed on guinea pig papillarymuscles. Results In both humans and pigs, elevated PAF levels were detected in AMI and simulated ischemia, respectively, and even higher PAF levels were found when fatal arrhythmias occurred. In guinea pig myocardium, PAF induced a shortening of action potential duration at 90% level of repolarization (APD 90 )under non-ischemic conditions and a more pronounced shortening under early simulated ischemic conditions. Conclusion AMI and ischemia are associated with increased PAF levels in humans and pigs, which are further raised when fatal arrhythmia follows.
