| 1 | Effects of Continuous Cropping of Panax notoginseng on the Properties of Rhizosphere Soil显示文摘[Objective] This experiment aimed to investigate the effects of continuous cropping of Panax notoginseng on the properties of rhizosphere soil. [Method] A total of 12 rhizospheres oil samples were collected in the fields continuously cropped with P. notoginseng for different years and the soil properties including pH value, contents of available N, available K, available P,total N, total K, total P and organic matter were determined. [Result] With the increase in the number of years of continuous cropping, seven soli indices: soil pH value, organic matter content, total N, total P, total K, available P and available K gradually increased, while available N showed a gradual downward trend. The contents of organic matter content, total N, total P, total K,available P, available K and available N after three years of continuous cropping were increased by 74.93%, 65.85%, 123.82%,18.78%, 341.67%, 120.16% and-32.16%, respectively, indicating that continuous cropping of P. notoginseng resulted in nutrient enrichment in rhizosphere soils. The pH value and available N in IBC(soil inside the border check) and UBC(soil under the border check) were higher than that in BBC(soil beside the border check), suggesting that the soil was gradually alkalized due to the continuous cropping of P. notoginseng. | 2 | Clinical Analysis of Early Noninvasive Mechanical Ventilation in the Treatment of Acute Left Heart Failure Complicated with Respiratory Failure显示文摘Objective To evaluate the efficacy of early and non-early non-invasive mechanical ventilation(NIV) for acute left heart failure and respiratory failure. Methods 29 cases of patients with acute left heart failure and respiratory failure treated by NIV were selected from our department from August 2016 to March 2019. According to the time of initiation of noninvasive mechanical ventilation, the patients were divided into the early treatment group(group A, treatment with NIV immediately after admission, n=15) and the non-early treatment group(group B, treatment with NIV for 2 h after admission, n=14), the improvement time, mechanical ventilation time, effective rate, intubation rate and fatality rate were compared between the two groups. Results The improvement time of patients in group A was(4.8±2.5) hours, the time of mechanical ventilation was(9.6±3.2) hours, the improvement time of group B was(6.8±2.6) hours, and the time of mechanical ventilation(12.8±4.4) hours. There were significant differences between the two groups(P<0.05). In group A, 13 patients were cured, 2 patients were intubated, 1 patient died, 10 patients in group B were cured, 4 patients were intubated, and 2 patients died. The difference in cure rate, intubation rate and mortality was statistically significant(P<0.05). | 5 | Identification of Expression Pattern and Clinical Significance of the Small Cajal Body-specific RNA SCARNA16 in Hepatocellular Carcinoma显示文摘Background and Aims:For high morbidity and mortality,hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)becomes a major health issue worldwide.Nowadays,numerous non-coding RNAs(ncRNAs)are known to regulate the occurrence and patho-genesis of tumors.Some ncRNAs have also been developed as tumor biomarkers and therapeutic targets.However,the potential function of the small Cajal body-specific RNA(scaRNA)SCARNA16,a newly identified ncRNA,remains to be explored in HCC.Methods:In both HCC cell lines and specimens from 120 enrolled patients,the expression val-ues of SCARNA16 were detected.We divided patients into SCARNA16 high and low expression subgroups,and then analyzed the difference of various clinical characteristics and prognosis data between subgroups.Results:Compared to paired controls,SCARNA16 was significantly down-regulated in HCC cell lines and clinical specimens(p<0.01).Besides,HCC patients with lower SCARNA16 expression commonly presented with larger and more tumor lesions,more ves-sel carcinoma emboli,more capsular invasion and higher TNM stages(p<0.05).Moreover,SCARNA16 expression was negatively correlated with postoperative prognosis of HCC patients in 5-year follow-up,including tumor-free survival(TFS)(median time of low vs.high subgroups:14 vs.48 months,p=0.006)and overall survival(OS)(median time of low vs.high subgroups:39 vs.52 months,p=0.001).Besides,SCARNA16 acted as an independent prognostic bio-marker in TFS(hazard ratio[HR]:0.578,95%CI:0.345-0.969,p=0.038)and OS(HR:0.366,95%CI:0.178-0.752,p=0.006).Conclusions:Low expression patterns of SCAR-NA16 remarkably associated with severe clinical status and poor survival of patients,suggesting that SCARNA16 pos-sesses potency as a novel biomarker for HCC. | Sitong Zhang Yuan Ding Zhongquan Sun Yao Ge Yanjie Li Xin Han Qianhui Xu Liuzhi Zhou Yining Chen Hao Xu Yang Bai Chang Xu Hao Ding Sheng Yan Weilin Wang | 2022 | Journal of Clinical and Translational Hepatology2022,10,1: | 0 |

| 7 | Effect of electroacupuncture on inflammatory signal expression in local tissues of rats with chronic pelvic pain syndrome based on purinergic 2X7 receptor/NOD-like receptor pyrin domaincontaining 3 signal pathway显示文摘OBJECTIVES: To study the expression of inflammatory signal in local prostate tissue of chronic pelvic pain syndrome(CPPS) rats by electroacupuncture(EA) of Guanyuan(CV4), Zhongji(CV3), Huiyang(BL35) and Sanyinjiao(SP6), and to explore the possible mechanism of anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects of EA. METHODS : A total of 36 Sprague-Dawley male rats were randomly divided into three groups: control, model and EA(n=12 rats/group). The CPPS model was made by injection of CFA into ventral lobes of the prostate(0.1 m L). Electric acupuncture apparatus was applied to stimulate Guanyuan(CV4), Zhongji(CV3), bilateral Huiyang(BL35) and Sanyinjiao(SP6) acupoints in EA group. The general condition of rats was observed and the prostate index(PI) was calculated. The thermal pain threshold was collected after each therapeutic course. Histopathological changes of the prostate tissue were examined by hematoxylin-eosin staining method. The expression levels of tumor necrosis factor α(TNF-α), interleukin-1β(IL-1β) and prostaglandin E2(PGE2) in prostatic homogenates were measured by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA). Moreover, the expression levels of purinergic 2X7 receptor(P2X7R), NOD-like receptor pyrin domain-containing 3(NLRP3), caspase-1 and interleukin-18(IL-18) m RNA were quantified by quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction. RESULTS: Compared with control group, the PI of rats increased, and the thermal pain threshold decreased significantly in model group. The morphological structure of prostate tissues of rats in model group was severely damaged with a large number of inflammatory cells infiltration. Additionally, the levels of TNF-α, IL-1β and PGE2 were higher, and the expressions of P2X7R, NLRP3, caspase-1 and IL-18 m RNA were higher than those in control group. After EA treatment, the PI was significantly decreased, the thermal pain threshold was significantly increased, and the tissue damage was significantly improved. The expressions of inflammatory cytokines were lower in EA group, and expression of P2X7R/NLRP3 pathway was down-regulated. CONCLUSION: The effect of EA at Guanyuan(CV4), Zhongji(CV3), Huiyang(BL35) and Sanyinjiao(SP6) can improve inflammation and pain symptoms of CPPS rats induced by Complete Freund’s adjuvant(CFA). | 8 | Effect of electroacupuncture at Neiguan(PC6)at different time points on myocardial ischemia reperfusion arrhythmia in rats显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To observe the effects of electroacupuncture at Neiguan(PC6)at different time points on reperfusion arrhythmia(RA)after myocardial ischemia and reperfusion in rats,and to investigate the correlation of this protective effect with nerve growth factor(NGF),tyrosine kinase A(Trk A),tyrosine hydroxylase(TH),and norepinephrine(NE).METHODS:A total of 72 Sprague-Dawley male rats were randomly divided into six groups(n=12 rats/group):normal group(Norm),sham operation group(Sham),ischemia reperfusion group(I/R),pre-ischemic electroacupuncture group(EAI),pre-reperfusion electroacupuncture group(EAII),post-reperfusion electroacupuncture group(EAIII).The myocardial ischemia-reperfusion injury(MIRI)model was induced by occlusion of left anterior descending coronary artery for 20 min followed by reperfusion for 40 min in rats.With no intervention in the Norm group and only threading without ligation in the Sham group.Electroacupuncture pretreatment at 20 min/d for 7 d before ligation in the EAⅠgroup,20 min of electroacupuncture before reperfusion in the EAII group and 20 min of electroacupuncture after reperfusion in the EAIII group.The electrocardiogram(ECG)of each group was recorded throughout the whole process,and the success of the MIRI model was determined based on the changs of J-point and T-wave in the ECG.The arrhythmia score was used to record premature ventricular contractions,ventricular tachycardia and ventricular fibrillation during the reperfusion period to assess the reperfusion induced arrhythmias.The expression levels of NGF,Trk A,TH protein were measured by Western blot.Moreover,the expression levels of plasma and myocardial NE levels were detected by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay.RESULTS:The differences between Norm group and Sham group were not statistically significant in all indexes.Arrhythmia score,myocardial NGF,Trk A,TH,and NE expression were significantly higher in the I/R group compared with the Sham group.Arrhythmia score,myocardial NGF,Trk A,TH,and NE expression were significantly lower in each EA group compared with the I/R group.CONCLUSION:Electroacupuncture at Neiguan(PC6)at different time points can reduce the incidence and severity of reperfusion arrhythmias in rats.This protective effect is related to electroacupuncture regulating NGF,Trk A,TH,NE expression and reducing sympathetic hyperactivation. | SUN Qianhui CHENG Kai DAI Xingye YANG Zhiwen WU Xiaoling XU Chang QIU Xinghua GAO Xiaofeng LIU Daonan YANG Qirui | 2024 | Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2024,44,1: | 0 |
| 9 | Phenotype,Physiology,and Gene Expression of Barley Seedlings in Response to Nano Zinc Oxide Stress显示文摘In recent years,zinc oxide nanoparticles(ZnO NPs)have been widely used as zinc fertilizers and pesticides.The use of ZnO NPs in this way can provide benefits to humans,but also has potential risks.ZnO NPs inevitably enter the environment during their production and use,which affects the ecological environment and crop growth.In order to investigate the phenotype,physiology,and gene expression of barley(Hordeum vulgare L.)seedlings under ZnO NPs stress,the barely cultivars ZJU3(P21),Golden Promise(GP)and L23 were chosen for study.Different ZnO NPs concentrations were applied to compare the physiological and biochemical indexes of the barley seedlings and the responses of six stress-related genes,when seedlings were cultured to the two-leaf stage through hydroponics.The results showed that the density of brown spots on the leaf surface increased with increasing ZnO NPs concentration.ZnO NPs stress inhibited the root growth of barley seedlings,and P21 was the most sensitive.Furthermore,ZnO NPs stress could stimulate plants to produce a large number of reactive oxygen species(ROS),resulting in an imbalance between the production and removal of ROS and membrane lipid peroxidation in plants.This imbalance inhibited the growth and development of the barley seedlings.With increasing ZnO NPs concentration,the activity of superoxide dismutase was gradually increased,the activity of catalase was progressively decreased,and the contents of malondialdehyde and proline were increased.Compared with the control,among six stress-related genes,the expression levels of five genes were downregulated and one gene was upregulated in the experimental group.This study preliminarily revealed the toxic effect of ZnO NPs on seedlings and the effect on the expression of stress-related resistance genes in different barley varieties. | Mengyuan Dong Rong Sun Qianhui Yang Lantian Zhang Yangying Yong Yunxia Fang Xian Zhang Xiaoqin Zhang Dawei Xue | 2021 | Phyton-International Journal of Experimental Botany2021,90,6: | 0 |
| 10 | Fine-tuning the structure-tolerance-antitumor efficacy axis of prodrug nanoassemblies via branched aliphatic functionalization显示文摘Small-molecule prodrug nanoassemblies have emerged as efficient antitumor drug delivery systems.However,in the case of camptothecins-based prodrug nanoassemblies,linear aliphatic side chain modification often results in rod-shaped or irregularly shaped nanoassemblies,which are highly unfavorable for sterilization through filtration,and may cause capillary blockage upon intravenous injection.The rational design of camptothecins-based prodrug nanoassemblies remains a challenge.Herein,we propose that branched aliphatic alcohol(BAA)functionalization could fine-tune the structure-tolerance-antitumor efficacy axis of prodrug nanoassemblies.Correspondingly,four SN38-BAA prodrugs were synthesized by conjugating 7-ethyl-10-hydroxycamptothecin(SN38)with BAAs of varying lengths via a tumor redox-responsive disulfide bond,which self-assemble into uniform spherical nanoparticles.The length of BAA was found to significant impact the multiple drug delivery process,including colloidal stability,drug release profiles and pharmacokinetics.Overall,SN38-C21 NPs(SN38-11-heneicosanol nanoparticles),featuring the longest BAA,showcased multiple therapeutic advantages,ultimately culminating the optimal antitumor efficacy and tolerance.The findings underscore the potential of BAA functionalization in strengthening the therapeutic outcomes of prodrug nanoassemblies,and provide valuable insights for developing translational camptothecins-based nanomedicines. | Guanting Li Fengli Xia Hongying Xiao Shunzhe Zheng Shuwen Fu Han Qiao Qianhui Jin Xuanbo Zhang Dun Zhou Chutong Tian Jin Sun Zhonggui He Bingjun Sun | 2024 | Nano Research2024,17,4: | 0 |

| 13 | Data quality assessment for studies investigating microplastics and nanoplastics in food products: Are current data reliable?显示文摘Data on the occurrence of microplastics and nanoplastics(MP/NPs)in foods have been used to assess the human health risk caused by the consumption of MP/NPs.The reliability of the data,however,remains unclear because of the lack of international standards for the analysis of MP/NPs in foods.Therefore,the data quality needs to be assessed for accurate health risk assessment.This study developed 10 criteria applicable to the quality assessment of data on MP/NPs in foods.Accordingly,the reliability of 71 data records(69 of them only focused on MPs)was assessed by assigning a score of 2(reliable without restrictions),1(reliable but with restrictions),or 0(unreliable)on each criterion.The results showed that only three data records scored 2 or 1 on all criteria,and six data records scored 0 on as many as six criteria.A total of 58 data records did not include information on positive controls,and 12 data records did not conduct the polymer identification,which could result in the overestimation or underestimation of MP/NPs.Our results also indicated that the data quality of unprocessed foods was more reliable than that of processed foods.Furthermore,we proposed a quality assurance and quality control protocol to investigate MP/NPs in foods.Notably,the characteristics of MP/NPs used in toxicological studies and those existing in foods showed a remarkable discrepancy,causing the uncertainty of health risk assessment.Therefore,both the estimated exposure of MP/NPs and the claimed potential health risks should be treated with caution. | Lihua Pang Qianhui Lin Shasha Zhao Hao Zheng Chenguang Li Jing Zhang Cuizhu Sun Lingyun Chen Fengmin Li | 2023 | Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering2023,17,8: | 0 |
