1Perception and Attitudes of Local Communities Towards Wild Elephant-related Problems and Conservation in Xishuangbanna,Southwestern China显示文摘The problem of wild elephants, or human-elephant conflict (HEC), influences the daily life of local communities and hinders the conservation of wild elephants.The perception and attitudes of local communities who inhabited the frontiers between human activities and wild elephant movement are important to the mitigation of the HEC and conservation of wild elephants. To analyze the perception and attitudes of local communities, the Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) was used in the investigation of 423 interviewees from 22 villages in Xishuangbanna from July 2009 to February 2010. The results indicated that local communities had their views on the elephant-related problems. In field survey, we found that 66.5% of interviewees were willing to support, participate in, and assist in the conservation of wild elephants;33.5% of interviewees were opposed or indifferent to such conservation, because their livelihoods and even their lives were endangered by wild elephants. These views and attitudes were influenced by local communities′perception of HEC, education level, gender and self-interest. 3Information retrieval methods for high resolution γ-ray spectra显示文摘A program based on MATLAB 7.0 platform was developed to locate characteristic peak position and calculate net area of characteristic peak.The formula for the calculation of relative standard deviation of net peak area by Sterlinski’s method was found excellent in searching single peaks and resolving overlapping peaks in high resolution gamma-ray spectrum.Gaussian function fitting method using Levenberg-Marquardt algorithm was applied to calculate net area of peaks.A standard test spectrum supplied by the IAEA in 1995 was analyzed by the program and another two widely used commercial software.The analysis results show the program was superior to the latter two in searching single peaks and resolving overlapping peaks.The optimized fitting indexes are found between 0.962 and 0.996,which shows that the program adopted is feasible and accurate for extracting the net peak area in high resolution gamma-ray spectra.WU Hexi ZHANG Huaiqiang LIU Qingcheng YANG Bo WEI Qianglin YUAN Xinyu 2012Nuclear Science and Techniques2012,23,6:6
4Comparative analysis of CPUE standardization of Chinese Pacific saury(Cololabis saira) fishery based on GLM and GAM显示文摘Pacific saury is an important high-seas fishery resource in the Northwest Pacific Ocean for the Chinese Mainland.Reliable and accurate catch per unit effort(CPUE)plays a significant rule in Pacific saury stock assessment.Many statistical models have been used in the previous CPUE standardization research.Here,we compare the performance of Generalized Linear Models(GLMs)and Generalized Additive Models(GAMs)using CPUE data collected from Chinese saury fishery in the Northwest Pacific Ocean from 2003 to 2017(excluding data from Chinese Taipei),and evaluate the influence of spatial,temporal,environmental variables and vessel length on CPUE.Optimal GLM/GAM models were selected using the Bayesian information criterion(BIC).Explained deviance and 5-fold bootstrap cross-validation results were used to compare the performance of the two model types.Fitted GLMs accounted for 21.57%of the total model-explained deviance,while GAMs accounted for 38.95%.Predictive performance metrics and 5-fold cross-validation results showed that the best GAM performed better than the best GLM.Therefore,we recommend GAM as the preferred model for standardizing CPUE of Pacific saury in the Northwest Pacific Ocean.Chuanxiang Hua Qingcheng Zhu Yongchuang Shi Yu Liu 2019Acta Oceanologica Sinica2019,38,10:5
5Challenges and strategies for in situ endothelialization and long-term lumen patency of vascular grafts显示文摘Vascular diseases are the most prevalent cause of ischemic necrosis of tissue and organ,which even result in dysfunction and death.Vascular regeneration or artificial vascular graft,as the conventional treatment modality,has received keen attentions.However,small-diameter(diameter<4 mm)vascular grafts have a high risk of thrombosis and intimal hyperplasia(IH),which makes long-term lumen patency challengeable.Endothelial cells(ECs)form the inner endothelium layer,and are crucial for anti-coagulation and thrombogenesis.Thus,promoting in situ endothelialization in vascular graft remodeling takes top priority,which requires recruitment of endothelia progenitor cells(EPCs),migration,adhesion,proliferation and activation of EPCs and ECs.Chemotaxis aimed at ligands on EPC surface can be utilized for EPC homing,while nanofibrous structure,biocompatible surface and cell-capturing molecules on graft surface can be applied for cell adhesion.Moreover,cell orientation can be regulated by topography of scaffold,and cell bioactivity can be modulated by growth factors and therapeutic genes.Additionally,surface modification can also reduce thrombogenesis,and some drug release can inhibit IH.Considering the influence of macrophages on ECs and smooth muscle cells(SMCs),scaffolds loaded with drugs that can promote M2 polarization are alternative strategies.In conclusion,the advanced strategies for enhanced long-term lumen patency of vascular grafts are summarized in this review.Strategies for recruitment of EPCs,adhesion,proliferation and activation of EPCs and ECs,anti-thrombogenesis,anti-IH,and immunomodulation are discussed.Ideal vascular grafts with appropriate surface modification,loading and fabrication strategies are required in further studies.Yu Zhuang Chenglong Zhang Mengjia Cheng Jinyang Huang Qingcheng Liu Guangyin Yuan Kaili Lin Hongbo Yu 2021Bioactive Materials2021,6,6:5
6The influence of selective cutting of mixed Korean pine(Pinus koraiensis Sieb.et Zucc.) and broad-leaf forest on rare species distribution patterns and spatial correlation in Northeast China显示文摘This study aimed to demonstrate change in spatial correlation between Korean pine(Pinus koraiensis Sieb. et Zucc.) and three rare species, and change in spatial distribution of four species in response to a range of selective cutting intensities. We sampled three plots of mixed Korean pine and broad-leaf forest in Lushuihe Forestry Bureau of Jilin province, China. Plot 1, a control,was unlogged Korean pine broad-leaf forest. In plots 2 and 3, Korean pine was selectively cut at 15 and 30 % intensity, respectively, in the 1970 s. Other species were rarely cut. We used point-pattern analysis to research the spatial distributions of four tree species and quantify spatial correlations between Korean pine and the other three species,Amur linden(Tilia amurensis Rupr.), Manchurian ash(Fraxinus mandshurica Rupr.), and Mongolian oak(Quercus mongolica Fisch.) in all three plots. The results of the study show that selective cutting at 15 % intensity did not significantly change either the species spatial patterns or the spatial correlation between Korean pine and broadleaf species. 7δ^(15)N-stable isotope analysis of NH_(x): An overview on analytical measurements, source sampling and its source apportionment显示文摘Agricultural sources and non-agricultural emissions contribute to gaseous ammonia(NH_(3))that plays a vital role in severe haze formation.Qualitative and quantitative contributions of these sources to ambient PM_(2.5)(particulate matter with an aerodynamic equivalent diameter below 2.5µm)concentrations remains uncertain.Stable nitrogen isotopic composition(δ^(15)N)of NH_(3)and NH_(4)+(δ^(15)N(NH_(3))andδ^(15)N(NH_(4)+),respectively)can yield valuable information about its sources and associated processes.This review provides an overview of the recent progress in analytical techniques forδ^(15)N(NH_(3))andδ^(15)N(NH_(4)+)measurement,sampling of atmospheric NH_(3)and NH_(4)+in the ambient air and their sources signature(e.g.,agricultural vs.fossil fuel),and isotope-based source apportionment of NH_(3)in urban atmosphere.This study highlights that collecting sample that are fully representative of emission sources remains a challenge in fingerprintingδ^(15)N(NH_(3))values of NH_(3)emission sources.Furthermore,isotopic fractionation during NH_(3)gas-to-particle conversion under varying ambient field conditions(e.g.,relative humidity,particle pH,temperature)remains unclear,which indicates more field and laboratory studies to validate theoretically predicted isotopic fractionation are required.Thus,this study concludes that lack of refinedδ^(15)N(NH_(3))fingerprints and full understanding of isotopic fractionation during aerosol formation in a laboratory and field conditions is a limitation for isotope-based source apportionment of NH_(3).More experimental work(in chamber studies)and theoretical estimations in combinations of field verification are necessary in characterizing isotopic fractionation under various environmental and atmospheric neutralization conditions,which would help to better interpret isotopic data and our understanding on NH_(x)(NH_(3)+NH_(4)+)dynamics in the atmosphere.Noshan Bhattarai Shuxiao Wang Yuepeng Pan Qingcheng Xu Yanlin Zhang Yunhua Chang Yunting Fang 2021Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering2021,15,6:3
8CFD simulation of pressure fluctuation characteristics in the gas-solid fluidized bed:Comparisons with experiments显示文摘A simple hydrodynamic model based on two-fluid theory,taking into account the effect of discrete particles on both the gas-and solid-phase momentum equations,was used to numerically investigate the pressure fluctuation characteristics in a gas-solid fluidized bed with the aid of CFX 4.4,a commercial CFD software package,by adding user-defined Fortran subroutines.Numerical simulations together with typical experimental measurements show that pressure fluctuations originate above the distributor when a gas pulse is injected into the fluidized bed.The pressure above the bubble gradually increases due to the presence of a rising bubble.When the bubble passes through the bed surface,the pressure near the bed surface gradually decreases to a lower value.Moreover,the pressure signals in the bubbling fluidized beds show obviously periodic characteristics.The major frequency of pressure fluctuations at the same vertical position is affected slightly by the operating gas velocity,and the amplitude of pressure fluctuations is related to both the operating gas velocity and the vertical height.In this study,the influence of the operating gas velocity on the pressure wave propagation velocity can be ignored,and only two peak frequencies in the power spectrum of the pressure fluctuations are observed which are associated with the bubble formation above the distributor and its eruption at the bed surface.Wang Qingcheng Zhang Kai Gu Hongyan 2011Petroleum Science2011,8,2:3
9Applying the Catch-MSY model to the stock assessment of the northwestern Pacific saury Cololabis Saira显示文摘The Pacific saury(Cololabis saira)is one of the major harvested species in the temperate waters of the northwestern Pacific Ocean(NPO).The Catch-MSY model uses catch data and basic life history information to estimate the Maximum Sustainable Yield(MSY)for data-limited fisheries.Since there is considerable uncertainty in the current status of the Pacific saury stock in the NPO,the Catch-MSY model was used in this study to estimate MSY on the basis of catch data and life history information from the North Pacific Fisheries Commission(NPFC).During the process,17 scenarios,according to different prior distributions of the intrinsic rate of increase(r)and carrying capacity(K),were set for sensitivity analysis.Moreover,the influence of different catch time series and different process errors were taken into account.The results show the following:(1)there was a strong negative correlation relationship between ln(r)and ln(K);the MSY increases with an increase in the lower limit of r;(2)The time series of catch data had a limited impact on the assessment results,whereas the results of the model were sensitive to the annual catch in the first and last years;(3)The estimated MSYs of the Pacific saury were 47.37×10^4 t(41.57×10^4 t to 53.17×10^4 t)in scenario S1A and 47.53×10^4 t(41.79×10^4 t to 53.27×10^4 t)in scenario S1B.Given the uncertainty of the Catch-MSY model,maintaining a management target between 50×10^4 t and 70×10^4 t was a better management regulation.This study shows that the Catch-MSY model is a useful choice for estimating the MSY of data-limited species such as the Pacific saury.SHI Yongchuang HUA Chuanxiang ZHU Qingcheng HUANG Shuolin FENG Huili 2020Journal of Oceanology and Limnology2020,38,6:3
10Effectiveness of intravenous r- tPA versus UK for acute ischaemic stroke: a nationwide prospective Chinese registry study显示文摘Background Intravenous recombinant tissue plasminogen activator(r-tPA)and urokinase(UK)are both recommended for the treatment of acute ischaemic stroke(AIS)in China,but with few comparative outcome data being available.We aimed to compare the outcomes of these two thrombolytic agents for the treatment of patients within 4.5 hours of onset of AIS in routine clinical practice in China.Methods A pre-planned,prospective,nationwide,multicentre,real-world registry of consecutive patients with AIS(age≥18 years)who received r-tPA or UK within 4.5 hours of symptom onset according to local decision-making and guideline recommendations during 2017-2019.The primary effectiveness outcome was the proportion of patients with an excellent functional outcome(defined by modified Rankin scale scores 0 to 1)at 90 days.The key safety endpoint was symptomatic intracranial haemorrhage according to standard definitions.Multivariable logistic regression was used for comparative analysis,with adjustment according to propensity scores to ensure balance in baseline characteristics.Results Overall,4130 patients with AIS were registered but 320 had incomplete or missing data,leaving 3810 with available data for analysis of whom 2666 received r-tPA(median dose 0.88(IQR 0.78-0.90)mg/kg)and 1144 received UK(1.71(1.43-2.00)×104 international unit per kilogram).There were several significant intergroup differences in patient characteristics:r-tPA patients were more educated,had less history of stroke,lower systolic blood pressure,greater neurological impairment and shorter treatment times from symptom onset than UK patients.However,in adjusted analysis,the frequency of excellent outcome(OR 1.18,95%CI 1.00 to 1.40,p=0.052)and symptomatic intracranial haemorrhage(OR 0.70,95%CI 0.33 to 1.47,p=0.344)were similar between groups.Conclusions UK may be as effective and carry a similar safety profile as r-tPA in treating mild to moderate AIS within guidelines in China.Registration http://www.clinicaltrials.gov.unique identifier:NCT02854592.Xinhong Wang Xiaoqiu Li Yuming Xu Runhui Li Qingcheng Yang Yong Zhao Fengyun Wang Baoying Sheng Runqing Wang Shaoyuan Chen Lihua Wang Liying Shen Xiaowen Hou Yu Cui Duolao Wang Bin Peng Craig S Anderson Huisheng Chen On behalf of INTRECIS Investigators 2021Stroke & Vascular Neurology2021,6,4:2

12Static Recrystallization Behavior of Inconel 718 Alloy during Thermal Deformation显示文摘The softening behavior of Inconel 718 alloy at different temperatures was studied using twostage interrupted compression method on Gleeble1500D thermal stimulator, and the 2% offset method was applied to analyze the experimental dates. Finally, the static recrystallization fraction was obtained. At the same times, optical microscope(OM) and transmission electron microscopy(TEM) were employed to investigate the microstructure characteristic. The experimental results showed that the recrystallization was more sensitive to temperature than holding time. The recrystallization process finished quickly above 1 050 ℃, and significantly prolonged below 1 025 ℃. Additionally, the dynamical model of static recrystallization follows the Avrami equation.
