1Laparoscopic versus open pancreaticoduodenectomy for pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma:a propensity score matching analysis显示文摘Background:A growing body of evidence supports the use of laparoscopic pancreaticoduodenectomy(LPD)as an efficient and feasible surgical technique.However,few studies have investigated its applicability in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma(PDAC),and the long-term efficacy of LPD on PDAC remains unclear.This study aimed to compare the short-and long-term outcomes between LPD and open pancreaticoduodenectomy(OPD)for PDAC.Methods:The data of patients who had OPD or LPD for PDAC between January 2013 and September 2017 were retrieved.Their postoperative outcomes and survival were compared after propensity score matching.Results:A total of 309 patients were included.After a 2:1 matching,93 cases in the OPD group and 55 in the LPD group were identified.Delayed gastric emptying(DGE),particularly grade B/C DGE,occurred less frequently in the LPD group than in the OPD group(1.8%vs.36.6%,P<0.001;1.8%vs.22.6%,P=0.001).The overall complication rates were significantly lower in the LPD group than in the OPD group(49.1%vs.71.0%,P=0.008),whereas the rates of major complications were similar(10.9%vs.14.0%,P=0.590).In addition,the median overall survival was comparable between the two groups(20.0 vs.18.7 months,P=0.293).Conclusion:LPD was found to be technically feasible with efficacy similar to OPD for patients with PDAC.Wentao Zhou Weiwei Jin Dansong Wang Chao Lu Xuefeng Xu Renchao Zhang Tiantao Kuang Yucheng Zhou Wenchuan Wu Dayong Jin Yiping Mou Wenhui Lou 2019Cancer Communications2019,39,1:14
2The origin, diversification and adaptation of a major mangrove clade (Rhizophoreae) revealed by whole-genome sequencing显示文摘Mangroves invade some very marginal habitats for woody plants—at the interface between land and sea.Since mangroves anchor tropical coastal communities globally, their origin, diversification and adaptation are of scientific significance, particularly at a time of global climate change. In this study, a combination of single-molecule long reads and the more conventional short reads are generated from Rhizophora apiculata for the de novo assembly of its genome to a near chromosome level. The longest scaffold, N50 and N90 for the R. apiculata genome, are 13.3 Mb, 5.4 Mb and 1.0 Mb, respectively. Short reads for the genomes and transcriptomes of eight related species are also generated. We find that the ancestor of Rhizophoreae experienced a whole-genome duplication ~70 Myrs ago, which is followed rather quickly by colonization and species diversification. Mangroves exhibit pan-exome modifications of amino acid(AA) usage as well as unusual AA substitutions among closely related species. The usage and substitution of AAs, unique among plants surveyed, is correlated with the rapid evolution of proteins in mangroves. A small subset of these substitutions is associated with mangroves' highly specialized traits(vivipary and red bark) thought to be adaptive in the intertidal habitats. Despite the many adaptive features, mangroves are among the least genetically diverse plants, likely the result of continual habitat turnovers caused by repeated rises and falls of sea level in the geologically recent past. 3Adaptation to salinity in mangroves:Implication on the evolution of salt-tolerance显示文摘A plant's adaptation to its environment is one of the most important issues in evolutionary biology. Mangroves are trees that inhabit the intertidal zones with high salinity, while salt tolerance competence of different species varies. Even congeneric species usually occupy distinct positions of intertidal zones due to differential ability of salt tolerance. Some species have different ecotypes that adapt well to littoral and terrestrial environments, respectively. These characteristics of mangroves make them ideal ecological models to study adaptation of mangroves to salinity. Here, we briefly depict adaptive traits of salt tolerance in mangroves with respect to anatomy, physiology and biochemistry, and review the major advances recently made on both the genetic and genomic levels. Results from studies on individual genes or whole genomes of mangroves have confirmed conclusions drawn from studies on anatomy, physiology and biochemistry, and have further indicated that specific patterns of gene ex-pression might contribute to adaptive evolution of mangroves under high salinity. 4Integration of Soil Information System and Interactive Self-Organizing Data for Agricultural Developing Zones in Red Soil Region显示文摘Integration of soil information system (SIS) and interactive self-organizing data (ISODATA) was studied to establish proper agricultural developing zones in red soil region of southern China which are of crucial importance to farmers, researchers, and decision makers while utilizing and managing red soil resources. SIS created by using ARC/INPO was used to provide data acquisition, systematic model parameter assignment, and visual display of analytic results. Topography, temperature, soil component (e.g., organic matter and pH) and condition of agricultural production were selected as parameters of ISODATA model. 5Phylogenetic position of Ephedra rhytidosperma,a species endemic to China:Evidence from chloroplast and ribosomal DNA sequences显示文摘The chloroplast genes matK and rbcL, ribo- somal gene 18S and ITS regions of nuclear ribosomal DNA from Ephedra rhytidosperma, a species endemic to China, were sequenced and its phylogenetic position was investi- gated. Independent and combined phylogenetic analyses for the DNA sequences from 16 taxa representing 15 species of the genus Ephedra were performed using the maximum par- simony (MP), neighbor-joining (NJ), minimum evolution (ME) and maximum likelihood (ML) methods. The results indicate that E. rhytidosperma is closely related to E. equiset- ina. 12Genetic relatedness and association mapping of horticulturally valuable traits for the Ceiba plants using ddRAD sequencing显示文摘Ceiba species have high ornamental value and are widely cultivated in tropical regions.However,genetic background of cultivated Ceiba plants remains unclear.To understand the genetic relatedness of cultivated Ceiba plants and genetic basis of key horticultural traits,here we explored the genetic relatedness of 153 accessions of Ceiba plants cultivated in Southern China and identified SNPs associated with five horticultural traits,based on 11704 SNPs derived from double-digest restriction-site associated DNA sequencing(ddRAD-seq).Clustering analysis revealed that these accessions were composed of three groups:C.speciosa group,C.insignis group,and hybrid group.The GWAS identified two,four,two,three,and four SNPs related to petal color,petal striation number,flowering time,trunk shape,and prickles on the trunk and branches,respectively.One to two candidate genes were found near the SNPs strongly associated with these traits.This study revealed the genetic relatedness in the Ceiba plants cultivated in Southern China and presented the first GWAS analysis for five horticultural traits for them,laying a foundation for phenotype-related marker selection and molecular breeding.Bingqian Han Songyi Huang Guilian Huang Xin Wu Haixiang Jin Ying Liu Yiqiang Xiao Renchao Zhou 2023Horticultural Plant Journal2023,9,4:1

15Quantitative Estimation of Pipeline Slope Disaster Risk in China显示文摘China’s economic development is closely related to oil and gas resources,and the country is investing heavily in pipeline construction.Slope geological hazards seriously affect the long-term safe operation of buried pipelines,usually causing pipeline leakage,property and environmental losses,and adverse social impacts.To ensure the safety of pipelines and reduce the probability of pipeline disasters,it is necessary to predict and quantitatively evaluate slope hazards.While there has been much research focus in recent years on the evaluation of pipeline slope disasters and the stress calculation of pipelines under hazards,existing methods only provide information on the occurrence probability of slope events,not whether a slope disaster will lead to pipeline damage.Taking the 2015 Xinzhan landslide in Guizhou Province,China,as an example,this study used discrete elements to simulate landslide events and determine the risk level and scope for pipeline damage,and then established a pipe-soil coupling model to quantitatively evaluate the impact of landslide hazards for pipelines in medium-and high-risk areas.The results provide a reference for future pipeline disaster prevention and control.Yan Yan Jiaojiao Zhou Cheng Xie Shuyao Yin Sheng Hu Renchao Wang 2023International Journal of Disaster Risk Science2023,14,2:0
