| 8 | Preoperative neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio plus platelet-to-lymphocyte ratioin predicting survival for patients with stage Ⅰ-Ⅱgastric cancer显示文摘Background:The preoperative neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio(NLR) and the platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio(PLR) are associated with poor prognosis of gastric cancer.We aimed to determine whether the combination of NLR and PLR(NLR-PLR) could better predict survival of patients after curative resection for stage Ⅰ-Ⅱ gastric cancer.Methods:We collected data from the medical records of patients with stage Ⅰ-Ⅱ gastric cancer undergoing curative resection between December 2000 and November 2012 at the Sun Yat-sen Cancer Center.The preoperative NLRPLR was calculated as follows:patients with both elevated NLR(≥2.1) and PLR(≥ 120) were given a score of 2,and patients with only one or neither were given a score of 1 or 0,respectively.Results:Kaplan-Meier analysis and log-rank tests revealed significant differences in overall survival(OS) among patients with NLR-PLR scores of 0,1 and 2(P < 0.001).Multivariate analysis showed that OS was independently associated with the NLR-PLR score[hazard ratio(HR) = 1.51,95%confidence interval(CI) 1.02-2.24,P = 0.039]and TNM stage(HR = 1.36,95%CI 1.01-1.83,P= 0.041).However,other systemic inflammation-based prognostic scores,including the modified Glasgow prognostic score,the prognostic nutritional index,and the combination of platelet count and NLR,were not.In TNM stage-stratified analysis,the prognostic significance of NLR-PLR was maintained in patients with stage Ⅰ(P < 0.001) and stage Ⅱ cancers(P= 0.022).In addition,the area under the receiver operating characteristic curve for the NLR-PLR score was higher than those of other systemic inflammation-based prognostic scores(P = 0.001).Conclusion:The preoperative NLR-PLR score is a useful predictor of postoperative survival in the patients with stage l-ll gastric cancer and may help identify high-risk patients for rational therapy and timely follow-up. | Xiaowei Sun Xuechao Liu Jianjun Liu Shangxiang Chen Dazhi Xu Wei Li Youqing Zhan Yuanfang Li Yingbo Chen Zhiwei Zhou | 2016 | Chinese Journal of Cancer2016,35,7: | 25 |

| 10 | The discovery of Palaeoproterozoic volcanic rocks in the Bulunkuoler Group from the Tianshuihai Massif in Xinjiang of Northwest China and its geological significance显示文摘In the Dabudaer region of the Tianshuihai Massif (Xinjiang, Northwest China), metavolcanic rocks within the mainly meta-sedimentary Bulunkuoler Group are basalt, basaltic andesite, and rhyolite. In situ zircon U-Pb LA-ICP-MS dating on rhyolite magmatic zircons yielded an age of 2481±14 Ma, interpreted as the eruption age of the Bulunkuoler Group volcanic rocks. The basalt and basaltic andesite are low-Al tholeiite series and the rhyolite is low-Al calc-alkaline series. All of rocks are charac-terized by enrichment of LREE and LILE (Rb, Th and Ba), depletion of P, Nb, Ta and Ti, and absence of Eu anomalies. The εNd(t) of basalts ranges from 3.14 to 4.88 indicating a depleted mantle source. The trace element signatures show that these magmas experienced intense crustal contamination during their ascent. Direct evidence for crustal contamination is the xenocrystic zircons in the ryholite, with ages back to ca. 3300 Ma. The primitive-mantle normalized and Zr/Y-Zr diagrams for the basic volcanic rocks show that they formed in an intra-continental tectonic setting. | 12 | Effect of particle shape and size on flow properties of lactose powders显示文摘The shape and size of particles are understood to affect the bulk behaviour of powders, though there are but few studies that present quantitative information on the relationship between particle shape and the flow properties of powder. This is due in part to the lack of techniques for rapidly determining both particle shape and the range of flow characteristics that describe the response of powders to the stress and shear experienced during their processing. This study presents data that quantifies the influence of particle shape/size of three different lactose powders on their respective flow and bulk characteristics. Two of the samples differ in size but have similar shapes; the third sample is more spherical but similar in size to one of the other two samples. | 15 | Overexpression of OsPAP10a, A Root-Associated Acid Phosphatase, Increased Extracellular Organic Phosphorus Utilization in Rice显示文摘Phosphorus (P) deficiency is a major limitation for plant growth and development. Among the wide set of responses to cope with low soil P, plants increase their level of intracellular and secreted acid phosphatases (APases), which helps to catalyze inorganic phosphate (Pi) hydrolysis from organophosphates. In this study we characterized the rice (Oryza sativa) purple acid phosphatase 10a (OsPAP10a). OsPAP10a belongs to group Ia of purple acid phosphatases (PAPs), and clusters with the principal secreted PAPs in a variety of plant species including Arabidopsis. The transcript abundance of OsPAP10a is specifically induced by Pi deficiency and is controlled by OsPHR2, the central transcription factor controlling Pi homeostasis. In gel activity assays of root and shoot protein extracts, it was revealed that OsPAP10a is a major acid phosphatase isoform induced by Pi starvation. Constitutive overexpression of OsPAP10a results in a significant increase of phosphatase activity in both shoot and root protein extracts. In vivo root 5-bromo-4-chloro-3-indolyl-phosphate (BCIP) assays and activity measurements on external media showed that OsPAP10a is a root-associated APase. Furthermore, overexpression of OsPAP10a significantly improved ATP hydrolysis and utilization compared with wild type plants. | 20 | Global overview of research progress and development of precision maize planters显示文摘Maize is the most important crop for food and widely used for industrial materials,leading to its increasing demand all over the world.Precision planting is the effective method to increase maize yield.To meet the agronomic requirement of precision planting,different kinds of precision maize planters were developed.However,because of the difference of geographical environment,cropping system,farm scale and economic status among different countries,types of maize planters are various and the technologies involved are at different levels.This paper summarizes the precision maize planters currently available in the world and classifies them into four types:precision planters for tilled-land,minimum/no tilled-land,hilly&small land,and cold&arid land.Detailed characteristics have been provided for some typical precision planters and comparisons were made as to their suitability under particular working conditions.High-efficiency and high-accuracy are the main features of precision planters for tilled-land,while the ability to clean residue from seed rows and prevent planters to be blocked are the important function of precision planters for minimum/no tilled-land.To fit for hilly&small land,planters should be light-weighted and small-sized,and to warm up soil and keep moisture,planters for cold&arid land should be equipped with plastic-film mulching mechanism.Finally,developing trend of precision planting technology was analyzed and suggestions,including policy support and technical improvement,were made for developing countries to make suitable precision maize planters according to the local geographical conditions and cropping systems. | Yang Li Yan Bingxin Cui Tao Yu Yiming He Xiantao Liu Quanwei Liang Zhijie Yin Xiaowei Zhang Dongxing | 2016 | International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2016,9,1: | 17 |
