1The origin, diversification and adaptation of a major mangrove clade (Rhizophoreae) revealed by whole-genome sequencing显示文摘Mangroves invade some very marginal habitats for woody plants—at the interface between land and sea.Since mangroves anchor tropical coastal communities globally, their origin, diversification and adaptation are of scientific significance, particularly at a time of global climate change. In this study, a combination of single-molecule long reads and the more conventional short reads are generated from Rhizophora apiculata for the de novo assembly of its genome to a near chromosome level. The longest scaffold, N50 and N90 for the R. apiculata genome, are 13.3 Mb, 5.4 Mb and 1.0 Mb, respectively. Short reads for the genomes and transcriptomes of eight related species are also generated. We find that the ancestor of Rhizophoreae experienced a whole-genome duplication ~70 Myrs ago, which is followed rather quickly by colonization and species diversification. Mangroves exhibit pan-exome modifications of amino acid(AA) usage as well as unusual AA substitutions among closely related species. The usage and substitution of AAs, unique among plants surveyed, is correlated with the rapid evolution of proteins in mangroves. A small subset of these substitutions is associated with mangroves' highly specialized traits(vivipary and red bark) thought to be adaptive in the intertidal habitats. Despite the many adaptive features, mangroves are among the least genetically diverse plants, likely the result of continual habitat turnovers caused by repeated rises and falls of sea level in the geologically recent past. 2An Improvement to Multiple Criteria ABC Inventory Classification Using Shannon Entropy显示文摘This paper extends the Ng-model [Ng, 2007] for multiple criteria ABC inventory classification based upon Shannon entropy. The proposed approach determines the common weights associated with all criteria importance rankings, and provides a comprehensive scoring scheme by aggregating all rankings of the criteria importance. 3f-Harmonic Morphisms Between Riemannian Manifolds显示文摘f-Harmonic maps were first introduced and studied by Lichnerowicz in 1970.In this paper,the author studies a subclass of f-harmonic maps called f-harmonic morphisms which pull back local harmonic functions to local f-harmonic functions.The author proves that a map between Riemannian manifolds is an f-harmonic morphism if and only if it is a horizontally weakly conformal f-harmonic map.This generalizes the well-known characterization for harmonic morphisms.Some properties and many examples as well as some non-existence of f-harmonic morphisms are given.The author also studies the f-harmonicity of conformal immersions.Yelin OU 2014Chinese Annals of Mathematics,Series B2014,35,2:4
4Testing relative evolutionary rates and estimating divergence times among six genera of Rhizophoraceae using cpDNA and nrDNA sequences显示文摘The molecular phylogenetic trees of 10 species representing 6 genera of the family Rhizophoraceae have been constructed using the sequences of chloroplast genes ma/K and rbcL as well as the ITS regions of nuclear ribosomal DMA. Relative-rate tests between lineages in these phylogenetic trees have been performed. 5A Novel Ratio-Based Parallel DEA Approach for Evaluating the Energy and Environmental Performance of Chinese Transportation Sectors显示文摘As a high-energy-consumption and high-CO2-emission industry in China,the transportation sector has been under increasing pressure to improve its performance.This paper develops a novel parallel DEA approach to measure Chinese transportation sector's energy and environmental performance (EEP) over all possible weights,which is to avoid the risk of using the extreme or the most favorable weights in performance evaluation.In our method,the transportation sector is consisted of two parallel subsystems (passenger transportation and freight transportation) with shared inputs and undesirable shared outputs.All possible weights are considered in the EEP evaluation,then the EEP of a transportation sector is represented by a ranking interval.Finally,the proposed approach is applied to the transportation sectors in 30 Chinese provinces.Results show that the best and the worst ranking of most provinces vary greatly.Besides,the EEP of most provinces is hard to dominate others strictly,but the general tendency is the EEP of eastern provinces better than western provinces.Furthermore,the EEP difference of some adjacent provinces with similar features is distinct.These findings are not all the same as previous studies,which verifies the necessity of considering all possible weights in performance evaluation.Therefore,our method provides a new point of view in performance evaluation and can give more robust results for decision makers.Xiyang Lei Lin Li Xuefei Zhang Qianzhi Dai Yelin Fu 2019Journal of Systems Science and Systems Engineering2019,28,5:3
6TLR3 activation induces S100A7 to regulate keratinocyte differentiation after skin injury显示文摘Human S100A7 (psoriasin) is highly expressed in psoriasis and other inflammatory diseases; however, the function of S100A7 in wound repair remains largely unknown. Here we demonstrated that skin injury increased the expression of S100A7. Damaged cells from wounded skin induced the expression of S100A7 via the activation of Toll-like receptor 3 (TLR3) followed by the activation of p38 MAPK. S100A7, in turn, acted on keratinocytes to induce the expression of terminal differentiation marker gene loricrin through the activation of p38 MAPK and caspase-1. The differentiation of keratinocytes induced by S100A7 resulted in skin stratification, thus efficiently promoting wound closure. Taken together, our results demonstrate that the activation of TLR3 accelerates wound closure via the induction of S100A7 to induce keratinocyte differentiation.
