1Application of synoptic-scale anomalous winds predicted by medium-range weather forecast models on the regional heavy rainfall in China in 2010显示文摘Atmospheric winds from observations and medium-range weather forecast model predictions can be physically decomposed as daily climate wind,planetary-scale anomalous wind,and synoptic-scale anomalous wind.The 850 hPa synoptic-scale anomalous winds were extracted from the numerical model outputs of the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts(ECMWF) and the NCEP Global Forecast System(GFS).The results showed that most rain bands in eastern China in 2010 were located along the anomalous convergence lines.To predict the major rain bands by these convergence lines in 2010,the accuracies of the ECMWF products were 100%,85%,and 15% for leading 3,6,and 9 days,while the GFS products showed 53%,15%,and 6% accuracies,respectively.In comparison of the regional heavy rainfalls between observation and the ECMWF model prediction,the useful leading information was about 3.1 days for direct model rain prediction and 6.7 days for convergence systems predicted by ECMWF model.QIAN WeiHong LI Jin SHAN XiaoLong 2013Science China Earth Sciences2013,56,6:11
2SARS-CoV-2 infection aggravates chronic comorbidities of cardiovascular diseases and diabetes in mice显示文摘Background:Cardiovascular diseases(CVDs)and diabetes mellitus(DM)are top two chronic comorbidities that increase the severity and mortality of COVID-19.However,how SARS-CoV-2 alters the progression of chronic diseases remain unclear.Methods:We used adenovirus to deliver h-ACE2 to lung to enable SARS-CoV-2 infection in mice.SARS-CoV-2’s impacts on pathogenesis of chronic diseases were studied through histopathological,virologic and molecular biology analysis.Results:Pre-existing CVDs resulted in viral invasion,ROS elevation and activation of apoptosis pathways contribute myocardial injury during SARS-CoV-2 infection.Viral infection increased fasting blood glucose and reduced insulin response in DM model.Bone mineral density decreased shortly after infection,which associated with impaired PI3K/AKT/mTOR signaling.Conclusion:We established mouse models mimicked the complex pathological symptoms of COVID-19 patients with chronic diseases.Pre-existing diseases could impair the inflammatory responses to SARS-CoV-2 infection,which further aggravated the pre-existing diseases.This work provided valuable information to better understand the interplay between the primary diseases and SARS-CoV-2 infection.Yuanwu Ma Dan Lu Linlin Bao Yajin Qu Jiangning Liu Xiaolong Qi Lei Yu Xu Zhang Feifei Qi Qi Lv Yunpeng Liu Xudong Shi Caixian Sun Jing Li Jie Wang Yunlin Han Kai Gao Wei Dong Ning Liu Shan Gao Jing Xue Qiang Wei Sidan Pan Hong Gao Lianfeng Zhang Chuan Qin 2021Animal Models and Experimental Medicine2021,4,1:3
3Anal swab findings in an infant with COVID-19显示文摘Introduction: The transmission pathways of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) remain not completely clear. In this case study the test for the novel severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) in pharyngeal swab and anal swab were compared.Case presentation: A 3-month-old girl was admitted to our hospital with COVID-19. Her parents had both been diagnosed with COVID-19. The results of pharyngeal swab and anal swab of the little girl were recorded and compared during the course of the disease. The oropharyngeal specimen showed negative result for SARS-CoV-2 on the 14th day after onset of the illness. However, the anal swab was still positive for SARS-CoV-2 on the 28th day after the onset of the illness.Conclusion: The possibility of fecal-oral transmission of COVID-19 should be assessed. 4Analysis of the regional spectral properties in northwestern South China Sea based on an empirical orthogonal function显示文摘This study presents an analysis of the spectral characteristics of remote sensing reflectance(Rrs)in northwestern South China Sea based on the in situ optical and water quality data for August 2018.Rrswas initially divided into four classes,classes A to D,using the max-classification algorithm,and the spectral properties of whole Rrs were characterized using the empirical orthogonal function(EOF)analysis.Subsequently,the dominant factors in each EOF mode were determined.The results indicated that more than 95%of the variances of Rrs are partly driven by the back-scattering characteristics of the suspended matter.The initial two EOF modes were well correlated with the total suspended matter and back-scattering coefficient.Furthermore,the first EOF modes of the four classes of Rrs(A-D Rrs-EOF1)significantly contributed to the total variances of each Rrs class.In addition,the correlation coefficients between the amplitude factors of class A-D Rrs-EOF1 and the variances of the relevant water quality and optical parameters were better than those of the unclassified ones.The spectral shape of class ARrs-EOF1 was governed by the absorption characteristic of chlorophyll a and colored dissolved organic matter(CDOM).The spectral shape of class B Rrs-EOF1 was governed by the absorption characteristic of CDOM since it exhibited a high correlation with the absorption coefficient of CDOM(ag(λ)),whereas the spectral shape of class C Rrs-EOF1 was governed by the back-scattering characteristics but not affected by the suspended matter.The spectral shape of class D Rrs-EOF1 exhibited a relatively good correlation with all the water quality parameters,which played a significant role in deciding its spectral shape.Dongyang Fu Yuye Huang Dazhao Liu Shan Liao Guo Yu Xiaolong Zhang 2020Acta Oceanologica Sinica2020,39,7:3
5Novel rat model of multiple mitochondrial dysfunction syndromes(MMDS)complicated with cardiomyopathy显示文摘Background:Multiple mitochondrial dysfunction syndromes(MMDS)presents as complex mitochondrial damage,thus impairing a variety of metabolic pathways.Heart dysplasia has been reported in MMDS patients;however,the specific clinical symptoms and pathogenesis remain unclear.More urgently,there is a lack of an animal model to aid research.Therefore,we selected a reported MMDS causal gene,Isca1,and established an animal model of MMDS complicated with cardiac dysplasia.Methods:The myocardium-specific Isca1 knockout heterozygote(Isca1 HET)rat was obtained by crossing the Isca1 conditional knockout(Isca1 cKO)rat with theαmyosin heavy chain Cre(α-MHC-Cre)rat.Cardiac development characteristics were determined by ECG,blood pressure measurement,echocardiography and histopatho-logical analysis.The responsiveness to pathological stimuli were observed through adriamycin treatment.Mitochondria and metabolism disorder were determined by activity analysis of mitochondrial respiratory chain complex and ATP production in myocardium.Results:ISCA1 expression in myocardium exhibited a semizygous effect.Isca1 HET rats exhibited dilated cardiomyopathy characteristics,including thin-walled ventri-cles,larger chambers,cardiac dysfunction and myocardium fibrosis.Downregulated ISCA1 led to deteriorating cardiac pathological processes at the global and organiza-tional levels.Meanwhile,HET rats exhibited typical MMDS characteristics,including damaged mitochondrial morphology and enzyme activity for mitochondrial respira-tory chain complexesⅠ,ⅡandⅣ,and impaired ATP production.Conclusion:We have established a rat model of MMDS complicated with cardiomyopathy,it can also be used as model of myocardial energy metabolism dysfunction and mitochondrial cardiomyopathy.This model can be applied to the study of the mechanism of energy metabolism in cardiovascular diseases,as well as research and development of drugs.Yahao Ling Jiaxin Ma Xiaolong Qi Xu Zhang Qi Kong Feifei Guan Wei Dong Wei Chen Shan Gao Xiang Gao Shuo Pan Yuanwu Ma Dan Lu Lianfeng Zhang 2021Animal Models and Experimental Medicine2021,4,4:2
6Computational prediction and experimental verification of miRNAs in Panicum miliaceum L.显示文摘MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are a class of non-coding RNAs that play critical roles in post-transcriptional regulation. Their target genes are involved in a variety of biological processes such as development, metabolism, and stress response. Panicum miliaceum L. (Panicum) is an important grain crop, but, until now, no miRNAs have been identified in this plant. Using a homology search based on expressed sequence tag (EST) analysis and miRNA precursor secondary structure, a total of 43 new miRNAs were identified. The miRNAs were found to be unevenly distributed among 11 miRNA families. Target analysis using the plant small RNA target analysis server psRNATarget showed that the newly identified miRNAs can potentially regulate 68 target genes. Ten of the 11 miRNA families were annotated as involved in RNA regulation, suggesting they may play an essential role in post-transcriptional regulation in Panicum. 7Natural astaxanthin enhanced antioxidant capacity and improved semen quality through the MAPK/Nrf2 pathway in aging layer breeder roosters显示文摘Background:Natural astaxanthin(ASTA)has strong antioxidant properties and has been widely used as a health product to improve human health.However,the effects of ASTA on the reproductive performance of aging roosters have been poorly studied.We aimed to investigate the effects of dietary ASTA on semen quality and antioxidant capacity in aging roosters and to explore the potential mechanism of semen quality change via antioxidation defense system.Methods:In the present study,9653-week-old Jinghong No.1 layer breeder roosters were fed a corn-soybean meal basal diet containing 0,25,50,or 100 mg/kg ASTA for 6 weeks.Results:Semen quality in the ASTA groups remarkably improved than that in the control group,and antioxidant activities,the abilities to scavenge hydroxyl radicals and superoxide anions,increased gradually with ASTA addition(P<0.05).In addition,the mRNA levels of antioxidant enzymes as well as the mRNA and protein levels of the mitogen-activated protein kinase(MAPK)and nuclear factor-erythroid 2-related factor 2(Nrf2)were markedly increased in the 50-100 mg/kg ASTA group(P<0.05).Conclusions:Collectively,these results demonstrate that dietary ASTA may improve semen quality by increasing antioxidant enzyme activities and the ability to scavenge hydroxyl radicals,which may be related to upregulation of the MAPK/Nrf2 pathway.Shan Gao Nuo Heng Fang Liu Yong Guo Yu Chen Liang Wang Hemin Ni Xihui Sheng Xiangguo Wang Kai Xing Longfei Xiao Xiaolong Qi 2022Journal of Animal Science and Biotechnology2022,13,2:2
8Strengthening effect of super typhoon Rammasun(2014)on upwelling and cold eddies in the South China Sea显示文摘Typhoon is one of the frequent natural disasters in coastal regions of China.As shown in many studies,the impact of typhoons on the South China Sea(SCS)should not be overlooked.Super typhoon Rammasun(2014)was studied that formed in the northwestern Pacific,passed through the SCS,then landed in the Leizhou Peninsula.Remote sensing data and model products were used to analyze the spatiotemporal variations of the cold eddies,upwelling,sea surface temperature,mixed layer depth,rainfall,sea surface salinity,suspended sediment concentration,and surface-level anomaly.Results confirm the constant presence of upwelling and cold eddies in the southeast of Hainan(north of the Zhongsha Islands)and the southeast of Vietnam in July.In addition,we found the strengthening effect of super typhoon Rammasun on the upwelling and cold eddies in the SCS.The major reasons for the continuous decrease in sea surface temperature and the slow regaining of seawater temperature were the enhanced upwelling and vertical mixing caused by the typhoon.The increasing of the surface runoff in the Indochina Peninsula was mainly affected by the typhoon,with some contribution for the southeast of Vietnam’s cold eddy and upwelling.Xue LI Xiaolong ZHANG Dongyang FU Shan LIAO 2021Journal of Oceanology and Limnology2021,39,2:1

This technique only gives time-of-flight of the fragments, consequently one obtains only one-dimension information of the fragment. In order to investigate the complete dynamics of ion-molecule collisions, it is necessary to develop a position-sensitive multi-hit detector system. 13Genome-wide identification, classification, and expression profiling of serine esterases and other esterase-related proteins in the tobacco hornworm, Manduca sexta显示文摘Serine esterases(SEs)are hydrolases that catalyze the conversion of carboxylic esters into acids and alcohols.Lipases and carboxylesterases constitute two major groups of SEs.Although over a hundred of insect genomes are known,systematic identification and classification of SEs are rarely performed,likely due to large size and complex composition of the gene family in each species.Considering their key roles in lipid metabolism and other physiological processes,we have categorized 144 M.sexta SEs and SE homologs(SEHs),114 of which contain a motif of GXSXG.Multiple sequence alignment and phylogenetic tree analysis have revealed 39 neutral lipases(NLs),3 neutral lipase homologs(NLHs),11 acidic lipases(ALs),3 acidic lipase homologs(ALHs),a lipase-3,a triglyceride lipase,a monoglyceride lipase,a hormone-sensitive lipase,and a GDSL lipase.Eighty-three carboxylesterase genes encode 29α-esterases(AEs),12 AEHs(e.g.,SEH4-1–3),20 feruloyl esterases(FEs),2 FEHs,2β-esterases(BEs),2 integument esterases(IEs),1 IEH,4 juvenile hormone esterases,2 acetylcholinesterases,gliotactin,6 neuroligins,neurotactin,and an uncharacteristic esterase homolog.In addition to these GXSXG proteins,we have identified 26 phospholipases and 13 thioesterases.Expression profiling of these genes in specific tissues and stages has provided insights into their functions including digestion,detoxification,hormone processing,neurotransmission,reproduction,and developmental regulation.In summary,we have established a framework of information on SEs and related proteins in M.sexta to stimulate their research in the model species and comparative investigations in agricultural pests or disease vectors.Zelong Miao Chao Xiong Xiaolong Cao Tisheng Shan Qiao Jin Haobo Jiang 2023Insect Science2023,30,2:0
14Study on Differences in Quality Indices of Peanut Oil Obtained by Different Oil-making Processes显示文摘[Objectives]The differences in indices of different peanut oil were found out by analyzing the quality of peanut oil obtained by different oil-making processes.[Methods]The effects of different oil-making processes on the quality of peanut oil were analyzed and compared through the determination of the main physicochemical indices,V_(E) contents and fatty acid compositions of peanut oil obtained by cold pressing,hot pressing and leaching and refining.[Results]The leached refined peanut oil had the lightest color and the lightest fragrance;the hot-pressed peanut oil had the highest V_(E) content;the refractive index,relative density and main fatty acid compositions of the three kinds of peanut oil had no significant differences;and there were trans-fatty acids in the leached refined peanut oil,and the trans-fatty acid contents in the leached refined fresh and aged peanut oil were 1.90%and 4.39%,respectively.The trans-fatty acid content is expected to be a characteristic index to distinguish pressed peanut oil from leached refined peanut oil.[Conclusions]This study can provide a theoretical basis for distinguishing and identifying peanut oil obtained from different oil-making processes.Zhijun LIU Pingyang SHAN Wenchao XU Di WANG Jidong XU Xiaolong LI Lei WANG 2022Agricultural Biotechnology2022,11,2:0

18A Very Fast Pulsed Electron Gun for (e, 2e) and (e, 3e) Studies显示文摘Reaction microscope is a powerful tool for studying ion-atom/molecule dynamics, it can also be employed to investigate electron impact ionization processes. Traditionally these processes are studied by using the (e, 2e) or (e, 3e) techniques, most data are collected for single ionization and for very small scattering angles, i.e. (e, 2e), experimental data of double ionization (e, 3e)[1] and multiple ionization are scarce, because in most cases the efficiencies (mainly determined by solid angles) are extremely small for (e, 3e) processes, about 10^-7~10^-9. 19A Trusted NUMFabric Algorithm for Congestion Price Calculation at the Internet-of-Things Datacenter显示文摘The important issues of network TCP congestion control are how to compute the link price according to the link status and regulate the data sending rate based on link congestion pricing feedback information.However,it is difficult to predict the congestion state of the link-end accurately at the source.In this paper,we presented an improved NUMFabric algorithm for calculating the overall congestion price.In the proposed scheme,the whole network structure had been obtained by the central control server in the Software Defined Network,and a kind of dual-hierarchy algorithm for calculating overall network congestion price had been demonstrated.In this scheme,the first hierarchy algorithm was set up in a central control server like Opendaylight and the guiding parameter B is obtained based on the intelligent data of global link state information.Based on the historical data,the congestion state of the network and the guiding parameter B is accurately predicted by the machine learning algorithm.The second hierarchy algorithm was installed in the Openflow link and the link price was calculated based on guiding parameter B given by the first algorithm.We evaluate this evolved NUMFabric algorithm in NS3,which demonstrated that the proposed NUMFabric algorithm could efficiently increase the link bandwidth utilization of cloud computing IoT datacenters.Shan Chun Xiaolong Chen Guoqiang Deng Hao Liu 2021Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences2021,,3:0
