1Exogenous hydrogen sulfide inhibits apoptosis by regulating endoplasmic reticulum stress-autophagy axis and improves myocardial reconstruction after acute myocardial infarction显示文摘During acute myocardial infarction,endoplasm ic reticulum(ER)stress-induced autophagy and apoptosis have been shown as im portant pathogeneses of myocardial reconstruction.Im portantly,hydrogen sulfide(H2S),as a third endogenous gas signaling molecule,exerts strong cytoprotective effect on anti-ER stress,autophagy regulation and antiapoptosis.Here,we showed that H2 S treatm ent inhibits apoptosis by regulating ER stress-autophagy axis and im proves myocardial reconstruction after acute myocardial infarction.We found that H2S intervention im proved left ventricle function,reduced glycogen deposition in myocardial tissue mesenchyme,and inhibited apoptosis.Moreover,the expressions of fibrosis indicators(Col3a1 and Col1a2),ER stress-related proteins(CHOP and BIP/ERP78),autophagy-related proteins(Beclin and ATG5),apoptosis protein(Bax),as well as fibrosis protein Col4a3bp were all decreased after treatm ent w ith H2 S.H2 S adm inistration also m aintained MMP/TIMP balance.Mechanistically,H2S activated the PI3K/AKT signaling pathway.In addition,H2S treatm ent also reduced the expressions of ER stress-related proteins,autophagy-related proteins,and apoptins in in wtro experiments.Interestingly,activation of ER stress-autophagy axis could reverse the inhibitory effect of H2S on myocardial apoptosis.Altogether,these results suggested that exogenous H2S suppresses myocardial apoptosis by blocking ER stress-autophagy axis,which in turn reverses cardiac rem odeling after myocardial infarction.Yaling Li Maojun Liu Jiali Yi Xiong Song Xia Zheng Da Liu Sen Wang Chun Chu Jun Yang 2020Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2020,52,12:5
2Atomic layer deposition of TiO_(2) on carbon-nanotubes membrane for capacitive deionization removal of chromium from water显示文摘Chromium(Cr)is a common heavy metal that has severe impacts on the ecosystem and human health.Capacitive deionization(CDI)is an environment-friendly and energy-efficient electrochemical purification technology to remove Cr from polluted water.The performance of CDI systems relies primarily on the properties of electrodes.Carbon-nanotubes(CNTs)membranes are promising candidates in creating advanced CDI electrodes and processes.However,the low electrosorption capacity and high hydrophobicity of CNTs greatly impede their applications in water systems.In this study,we employ atomic layer deposition(ALD)to deposit TiO_(2) nanoparticulates on CNTs membranes for preparing electrodes with hydrophilicity.The TiO_(2)-deposited CNTs membranes display preferable electrosorption performance and reusability in CDI processes after only 20 ALD cycles deposition.The total Cr and Cr(VI)removal efficiencies are significantly improved to 92.1%and 93.3%,respectively.This work demonstrates that ALD is a highly controllable and simple method to produce advanced CDI electrodes,and broadens the application of metal oxide/carbon composites in the electrochemical processes.Jianhua Feng Sen Xiong Li Ren Yong Wang 2022Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2022,35,5:3
3Social Manufacturing for High-end Apparel Customization显示文摘Social manufacturing(SM), a novel distributed,collaborative and intelligent manufacturing mode, is proposed and developed for high-end apparel customization. The main components of SM cloud are designed, and its research topics are summarized. Then, SM's key technologies are studied. 3D technologies for apparel customization, like 3D modeling, 3D fitting mirror and 3D customization, are developed to improve the customization precision and user experience. Information based collaborative management is realized to share, communicate,and handle the information efficiently among all groups and individuals of SM cloud. Suppliers' evaluation mechanism is designed to support the optimal decisions making. 5Projections from D2 Neurons in Different Subregions of Nucleus Accumbens Shell to Ventral Pallidum Play Distinct Roles in Reward and Aversion显示文摘The nucleus accumbens shell(NAcSh) plays an important role in reward and aversion. Traditionally, NAc dopamine receptor 2-expressing(D2) neurons are assumed to function in aversion. However, this has been challenged by recent reports which attribute positive motivational roles to D2 neurons. Using optogenetics and multiple behavioral tasks, we found that activation of D2 neurons in the dorsomedial NAcSh drives preference and increases the motivation for rewards, whereas activation of ventral NAcSh D2 neurons induces aversion. Stimulation of D2 neurons in the ventromedial NAcSh increases movement speed and stimulation of D2 neurons in the ventrolateral NAc Sh decreases movement speed. Combining retrograde tracing and in situ hybridization, we demonstrated that glutamatergic and GABAergic neurons in the ventral pallidum receive inputs differentially from the dorsomedial and ventral NAcSh. 6Neogenin-loss in neural crest cells results in persistent hyperplastic primary vitreous formation显示文摘Neogenin is a transmembrane receptor critical for multiple cellular processes,including neurogenesis,astrogliogenesis,endochondral bone formation,and iron homeostasis.Here we present evidence that loss of neogenin contributes to pathogenesis of persistent hyperplastic primary vitreous(PHPV)formation,a genetic disorder accounting for^5% of blindness in the USA.Selective loss of neogenin in neural crest cells(as observed in Wntl-Cre;Neofff mice),but not neural stem cells(as observed in GFAP-Cre and Nestin-Cre;Neo^f/f mice),resulted in a dysregulation of neural crest cell migration or delamination,exhibiting features of PHPV-like pathology(e.g.elevated retrolental mass),unclosed retinal fissure,and microphthalmia.These results demonstrate an unrecognized function of neogenin in preventing PHPV pathogenesis,implicating neogenin regulation of neural crest cell delamination/migration and retinal fissure formation as potential underlying mechanisms of PHPV.Sen Lin Wei Liu Chun-Lin Chen Dong Sun Jin-Xia Hu Lei Li Jian Ye Lin Mei Wen-Cheng Xiong 2020Journal of Molecular Cell Biology2020,12,1:3
7High-throughput 16S rDNA sequencing of the pulmonary microbiome of rats with allergic asthma显示文摘A decrease in microbial infection in adolescents is implicated with an increase in the incidence of asthma and allergic diseases in adulthood,indicating that the microbiome plays a critical role in asthma.However,the microbial composition of the lower respiratory tract remains unclear,hindering the further exploration of the pathogenesis of asthma.This study aims to explore the microbial distribution and composition in the lungs of normal rats and rats with allergic asthma via 16S rDNA sequencing.The DNA of the pulmonary microbiome was extracted from the left lungs collected from normal control group(NC),saline control group(SC),and allergic asthma group(AA)under aseptic conditions.After the 16s rDNA V4eV5 region was amplified,the products were sequenced using Illumina high-throughput technology and subjected to operational taxonomic unit(OTU)cluster and taxonomy analysis.The OTU values of AA increased significantly compared with those of NC and SC.Microbiome structure analysis showed that the dominant phylum of the pulmonary microbiome changed from Proteobacteria in NC to Firmicutes in AA.Linear discriminant analysis indicated that the key microbiomes involved in the three groups varied.Yang Xiong Sen Hu Hongyao Zhou Hui Zeng Xuan He Dongni Huang Xiaoyu Li 2020Genes & Diseases2020,7,2:2

9Enhanced performances of polypropylene membranes by molecular layer deposition of polyimide显示文摘Molecular layer deposition(MLD) for the deposition of polyimide(PI) at low temperature of 110 °C has been firstly introduced into the field of membrane separation. With the optimized MLD deposition parameters, such low deposition temperature has successfully expanded the application of MLD for the surface modification of polymeric materials. Globular PI particulates grow on both the free surfaces as well as the pore walls of the polypropylene(PP) membranes as isolated islands during progressive precursor exposures. The PI-deposited PP membranes exhibit synergistically improved performances in various aspects. Evidently improved surface hydrophilicity and permeation performance(30%) have been achieved via the MLD deposition of polyimide films. The overall separation efficiency maintained higher than 85% even after 250 cycles of MLD deposition. 10New Algorithm Rules Out Acute-on-chronic Liver Failure Development within 28 Days from Acute Decompensation of Cirrhosis显示文摘Background and Aims:Approximately 10%of patients with acute decompensated(AD)cirrhosis develop acute-on-chronic liver failure(ACLF)within 28 days.Such cases have high mortality and are difficult to predict.Therefore,we aimed to establish and validate an algorithm to identify these patients on hospitalization.Methods:Hospitalized patients with AD who developed ACLF within 28 days were considered pre-ACLF.Organ dysfunction was defined accord-ing to the chronic liver failure-sequential organ failure as-sessment(CLIF-SOFA)criteria,and proven bacterial infec-tion was taken to indicate immune system dysfunction.A retrospective multicenter cohort and prospective one were used to derive and to validate the potential algorithm,re-spectively.A miss rate of<5%was acceptable for the calcu-lating algorithm to rule out pre-ACLF.Results:In the deri-vation cohort(n=673),46 patients developed ACLF within 28 days.Serum total bilirubin,creatinine,international normalized ratio,and present proven bacterial infection at admission were associated with the development of ACLF.AD patients with≥2 organ dysfunctions had a higher risk for pre-ACLF patients[odds ratio=16.58195%confidence interval:(4.271-64.363),p<0.001].In the derivation co-hort,67.5%of patients(454/673)had≤1 organ dysfunction and two patients(0.4%)were pre-ACLF,with a miss rate of 4.3%(missed/total,2/46).In the validation cohort,65.9%of patients(914/1388)had≤1 organ dysfunction,and four(0.3%)of them were pre-ACLF,with a miss rate of 3.4%(missed/total,4/117).Conclusions:AD patients with≤1 organ dysfunction had a significantly lower risk of developing ACLF within 28 days of admission and could be safely ruled out with a pre-ACLF miss rate of<5%.Xiaoting Tang Hai Li Guohong Deng Xin Zheng Xianbo Wang Yan Huang Yanhang Gao Zhongji Meng Zhiping Qian Feng Liu Xiaobo Lu Yu Shi Beiling Li Wenyi Gu Xiaomei Xiang Yan Xiong Yixin Hou Jun Chen Na Gao Sen Luo Liujuan Ji Jing Li Rongjiong Zheng Haotang Ren Jinjun Chen 2023Journal of Clinical and Translational Hepatology2023,11,3:1

13A Survey of Urolithiasis in Young Children Fed Infant Formula Contaminated with Melamine in Two Townships of Gansu,China显示文摘Objective To determine the prevalence of urolithiasis in young children fed infant formula(IF) contaminated with melamine,and the association between IF consumption and urolithiasis.Design A total of 2 733 children ≤3 years of age on September 1,2008 in two townships of Gansu Province,China were studied.Cases of urolithiasis were diagnosed by ultrasonography.Milk product consumption was determined by their caregivers.Remaining IF samples were tested for melamine and cyanuric acid.Results Of 2 733 eligible children in the two townships,2 186(80%) were enrolled in our study.Overall,16.6%(362) of 2 186 children had urolithiasis.The prevalence was 24.6% in children exclusively fed Sanlu brand IF,9.7% in those fed other IF,and 8.5% in those fed exclusively on other milk products.For children exclusively breast-fed,no urolithiasis was found(P<0.05).The prevalence of urolithiasis was 11.4% in children fed 400 g of Sanlu IF,rising to 37.5% in children fed over 25 600 g.Of 48 Sanlu IF samples,91.7% contained melamine(median=1 800 ppm;range=45-4 700) and 66.7% contained cyanuric acid(median=1.2 ppm;range=0.4-6.3).Melamine was also detected in 22.2% of 36 other brand IF(median=27.5 ppm,range=4-50).Conclusions Urolithiasis was associated with melamine-contaminated IF.Although one product caused most morbidity,other milk products may have also contributed to the outbreak.SHI Guo Qing WANG Zi Jun FENG Zi Jian GAO Yong Jun LIU Jian Di SHEN Tao LIMing YANG Jin XU Hai Bing JIANG Xiao Hong WANG Zhao Nan CAI Mei WANG Yu Min ZHU Ye Fan LIU Hui Hui WANG Rui XIONG Wei Yi WANG Zhu Tian YANG Wei Zhong HOU Pei Sen ZENG Guang WANG Yu 2012Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2012,25,2:1
14The circ_0002538/miR-138-5p/plasmolipin axis regulates Schwann cell migration and myelination in diabetic peripheral neuropathy显示文摘Circular RNAs(circRNAs)play a vital role in diabetic peripheral neuropathy.However,their expression and function in Schwann cells in individuals with diabetic peripheral neuropathy remain poorly understood.Here,we performed protein profiling and circRNA sequencing of sural nerves in patients with diabetic peripheral neuropathy and controls.Protein profiling revealed 265 differentially expressed proteins in the diabetic peripheral neuropathy group.Gene Ontology indicated that differentially expressed proteins were mainly enriched in myelination and mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylation.A real-time polymerase chain reaction assay performed to validate the circRNA sequencing results yielded 11 differentially expressed circRNAs.circ_0002538 was markedly downregulated in patients with diabetic peripheral neuropathy.Further in vitro experiments showed that overexpression of circ_0002538 promoted the migration of Schwann cells by upregulating plasmolipin(PLLP)expression.Moreover,overexpression of circ_0002538 in the sciatic nerve in a streptozotocin-induced mouse model of diabetic peripheral neuropathy alleviated demyelination and improved sciatic nerve function.The results of a mechanistic experiment showed that circ_0002538 promotes PLLP expression by sponging miR-138-5p,while a lack of circ_0002538 led to a PLLP deficiency that further suppressed Schwann cell migration.These findings suggest that the circ_0002538/miR-138-5p/PLLP axis can promote the migration of Schwann cells in diabetic peripheral neuropathy patients,improving myelin sheath structure and nerve function.Thus,this axis is a potential target for therapeutic treatment of diabetic peripheral neuropathy.Yu-Tian Liu Zhao Xu Wei Liu Sen Ren He-Wei Xiong Tao Jiang Jing Chen Yu Kang Qian-Yun Li Zi-Han Wu Hans-GüNther Machens Xiao-Fan Yang Zhen-Bing Chen 2023Neural Regeneration Research2023,18,7:1
15Atomic layer deposition of Al_2O_3 on porous polypropylene hollow fibers for enhanced membrane performances显示文摘Porous polypropylene hollow fiber(PPHF) membranes are widely used in liquid purification. However, the hydrophobicity of polypropylene(PP) has limited its applications in water treatment. Herein, we demonstrate that, for the first time, atomic layer deposition(ALD) is an effective strategy to conveniently upgrade the filtration performances of PPHF membranes. The chemical and morphological changes of the deposited PPHF membranes are characterized by spectral, compositional, microscopic characterizations and protein adsorption measurements. Al_2O_3 is distributed along the cross section of the PP hollow fibers, with decreasing concentration from the outer surface to the inner surface. The pore size of the outer surface can be easily turned by altering the ALD cycles. Interestingly, the hollow fibers become much more ductile after deposition as their elongation at break is increased more than six times after deposition with 100 cycles. The deposited membranes show simultaneously enhanced water permeance and retention after deposition with moderate ALD cycle numbers.For instance, after 50 ALD cycles a 17% increase in water permeance and one-fold increase in BSA rejection are observed. 16Experimental study on the acoustic propagation and anisotropy of coal rocks显示文摘In order to study the propagation laws of acoustic wave of coal samples from the Upper Permian Xuanwei Formation in the east of Yunnan Province,China,under saturated water and dry conditions,the basic physical parameters,acoustic parameters and anisotropic parameters were obtained through the experiments.Based on FFT and wavelet analysis theory,the spectral characteristics of coal samples under different conditions were studied.The results show that physical parameters of coal samples in different directions have different values,that is,the anisotropy of coal samples is obvious.When the coal samples are saturated with water,the acoustic velocities and the attenuation coefficient increase,whereas the dominant frequency decreases.The signal amplitude of the frequency domain significantly decreases,that is,the internal structure of coal samples is damaged.The P-wave velocity and S-wave velocity increase with the increase of the confining pressure,whereas the anisotropy parameters decrease with the increase of the confining pressure.Overall,this study provides the basis to understand basic acoustic information and anisotropy characteristics of coal samples.Linlin Huang Xiangjun Liu Sen Yan Jian Xiong Haiming He Peng Xiao 2022Petroleum2022,8,1:1
17肝癌肝移植受者急性移植物抗宿主病存在移植物抗肿瘤效应吗?(英文)显示文摘Objective: We aimed to access if acute graft-versus-host disease(a GVHD) in liver transplantation recipients of hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC) might develop a graft-versus-tumor effect(GVT) other than immunological damage which would benefit prophylaxis of tumor recurrence. Methods: Dynamic observation of 3 cases of liver transplantation recipients of HCC and cirrhosis, which developed manifestations of fever, skin rash, watery diarrhea, pancytopenia and were finally diagnosed as a GVHD. Two of which got recovered from intravenously pulse methylprednisolone, high-dose intravenous immunoglobulin, antibiotics administration simultaneously and promptly withdrawal of oral immunosuppressants. Two survivors were follow-up regularly with biological monitoring and imaging surveillance for tumor recurrence thereafter. Results: Two recipients survived healthily with stable liver graft function and normal serum AFP level and blood routine test. No sign of tumor recurrence was found in repeat imaging examinations for liver graft, lung, brain and other tissue or organs within a period of 96 months and 17 months to date, respectively. 19Microstructure and surface of 2A12 aluminum alloy cladded with pure aluminum after solution treatment显示文摘The effects of solution temperature and holding time on the microstructure, mechanical properties and surface morphology of 2 A12 aluminum alloy sheets were discussed in this paper. The universal tensile tester was used to test the tensile strength and yield strength of aluminum alloy sheets with different treatment systems. The surface morphology of the alloy sheets was characterized by a white light interference profile scanner, and the microstructure of the sheets was characterized by optical microscope(OM), scanning electron microscope(SEM)and electron backscattered diffraction(EBSD). The results showed that the mechanical properties of the sheets could not satisfy GBT228.1-2010 national standard when the holding time was 10 min and the holding temperature was475 ℃. However, under the other heat treatment systems,the alloy could reach the GBT228.1-2010 national standard. Moreover, with the extension of the holding time, the part of the matrix gradually diffused into the aluminumclad layer. When the holding time was shorter than 25 min,the boundary between the matrix and the aluminum-clad layer was relatively obvious. And the diffusion gradually became obvious when the holding time was over 25 min.Thereby, the boundary became blurry. 20The proximity between hydroxyl and single atom determines the catalytic reactivity of Rh1/CeO_(2) single-atom catalysts显示文摘The local structure of the metal single-atom site is closely related to the catalytic activity of metal single-atom catalysts(SACs).However,constructing SACs with homogeneous metal active sites is a challenge due to the surface heterogeneity of the conventional support.Herein,we prepared two Rh1/CeO_(2)SACs(0.5Rh1/r-CeO_(2)and 0.5Rh1/c-CeO_(2),respectively)using two shaped CeO_(2)(rod and cube)exposing different facets,i.e.,CeO_(2)(111)and CeO_(2)(100).In CO oxidation reaction,the T100 of 0.5Rh1/r-CeO_(2)SACs is 120°C,while the T100 of 0.5Rh1/c-CeO_(2)SACs is as high as 200°C.Via in-situ CO diffuse reflectance infrared Fourier transform spectroscopy(CO-DRIFTS),we found that the proximity between OH group and Rh single atom on the plane surface plays an important role in the catalytic activity of Rh1/CeO_(2)SAC system in CO oxidation.The Rh single atom trapped at the CeO_(2)(111)crystal surface forms the Rh1(OH)adjacent species,which is not found on the CeO_(2)(100)crystal surface at room temperature.Furthermore,during CO oxidation,the OH group far from Rh single atom on the 0.5Rh1/c-CeO_(2)disappears and forms Rh1(OH)adjacent species when the temperature is above 150°C.The formation of Rh1(OH)adjacentCO intermediate in the reaction is pivotal for the excellent catalytic activity,which explains the difference in the catalytic activity of Rh single atoms on two different CeO_(2)planes.The formed Rh1(OH)adjacent-O-Ce structure exhibits good stability in the reducing atmosphere,maintaining the Rh atomic dispersion after CO oxidation even when pre-reduced at high temperature of 500°C.Density functional theory(DFT)calculations validate the unique activity and reaction path of the intermediate Rh1(OH)adjacentCO species formed.This work demonstrates that the proximity between metal single atom and hydroxyl can determine the formation of active intermediates to affect the catalytic performances in catalysis.Danfeng Wu Shuyun Zhou Congcong Du Juan Li Jianyu Huang Hong-xia Shen Abhaya K.Datye Shan Jiang Jeffrey T.Miller Sen Lin Haifeng Xiong 2024Nano Research2024,17,1:0
