1Arterial relaxation is coupled to inhibition of mitochondrial fission in arterial smooth muscle cells:comparison of vasorelaxant effects of verapamil and phentolamine显示文摘Mitochondria are morphologically dynamic organelles which undergo fission and fusion processes. Our previous study found that arterial constriction was always accompanied by increased mitochondrial fission in smooth muscle cells, whereas inhibition of mitochondrial fission in smooth muscle cells was associated with arterial relaxation. Here, we used the typical vasorelaxants, verapamil and phentolamine, to further confirm the coupling between arterial constriction and mitochondrial fission in rat aorta. Results showed that phentolamine but not verapamil induced vasorelaxation in phenylephrine(PE)-induced rat thoracic aorta constriction. Verapamil, but not phentolamine, induced vasorelaxation in high K^+(KPSS)-induced rat thoracic aorta constriction. Pre-treatment with phentolamine prevented PEbut not KPSS-induced aorta constriction and pre-treatment with verapamil prevented both PE-and KPSSinduced aorta constriction. Transmission electron microscopy(TEM) results showed that verapamil but not phentolamine inhibited KPSS-induced excessive mitochondrial fission in aortic smooth muscle cells,and verapamil prevented both PE-and KPSS-induced excessive mitochondrial fission in aortic smoothmuscle cells. Verapamil inhibited KPSS-induced excessive mitochondrial fission in cultured vascular smooth muscle cells(A10). 2Preparation of an anti-diethylstilbestrol monoclonal antibody and development of an indirect competitive ELISA to detect diethylstilbestrol in biological samples显示文摘Based on the preparation of an anti-diethylstilbestrol(DES) monoclonal antibody,a simple and convenient indirect competitive enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA) method for DES detection has been developed.The monoclonal antibody demonstrated high sensitivity to DES with an IC50 value of 275 pg mL-1 and detection limit(LOD) of 90 pg mL-1.The specificity of the assay was studied by measuring cross-reactivity of the antibody with structurally related compounds of ethinyl estradiol(<7%),estrone(<0.1%),estriol(<0.1%),and diethylstilbestrol benzoate(<0.1%).Chicken,fish,shrimp,urine and bile spiked with different concentration of DES were detected by the developed method,and the recovery rates were greater than 79.5%.Intra-and inter-assay variations were about 6%.This method exhibited high stability with a coefficient of variation less than 10% in buffer and in real samples.The LODs in fish/shrimp,liver,feed and urine spiked with DES were 600,600,4800 and 600 pg mL-1,respectively.These results confirmed that the antibody to DES was successfully produced and could be used to establish ELISA methods for DES detection in food producing animals.LI WeiHua MENG Meng HE FangYang WAN YuPing XUE HuYin LIU Wei YIN WeiWei XU Jing FENG CaiWei WANG ShanLiang LU Xiao LIU JinTing XI RiMo 2011Chinese Science Bulletin2011,56,8:4
3Valence electron structure and bonding features of RuB2 and OSB2: The empirical electron theory calculations显示文摘The valence electron structure (VES) of RuB2 and OsB2 were calculated by the empirical electron theory (EET) of solids and molecules and compared with the results derived from the first-principles calculations. The distributions of covalent electrons in different bonds indicate that B-B and B-Me have remarkably covalent bonding characters. Lattice electrons cruising around Me-Me layers are found to have great influences on electronic conductivity and high temperature plasticity. The ultra-high values of elastic constant Cn in the two compounds originate from close-packed covalent bonding along the c axis. Uneven bond strengths and distributions of covalent bonds, especially for B-Afe bonds, yield significant anisotropy. Low ratios of lattice electrons to covalent electrons suggest the intrinsic embrittlement in crystals. 4Effect of Acidity on Methylation of Benzene with Methanol Catalyzed by HZSM-5:A DFT Study显示文摘Different acidic HZSM-5 zeolites were constructed by doping with Al,Ga,or In.The effect of acidity on the adsorption of methylbenzenes and the reaction energy barriers for the methylation of benzene with methanol catalyzed by HZSM-5 zeolite were investigated by using the density functional theory.The results show that acidity exhibits less effect in the adsorption of methylbenzenes,while linear relationships are observed between the acidity and reaction energy barriers.As the acidity increases,the reaction energy barrier decreases linearly,and the stepwise pathway becomes dominant in strong acidity environment,while weak acidity is conducive to the concerted pathway.The calculation results could contribute to understanding the relationship between the acidity and the zeolite-catalyzed alkylation reaction of methylbenzenes.Wei Pifeng Fu Guangbin Mu Shanliang Gao Jichao Wen Zhenhao Zhu Xuedong 2021China Petroleum Processing & Petrochemical Technology2021,23,2:2
5Rational design of a visible-light photochromic diarylethene:a simple strategy by extending conjugation with electron donating groups显示文摘Photochromic diarylethenes have been widely used in many fields. However, their cyclization process must be induced by UV light. In this article, a simple strategy is developed by extending π-conjugation with electron donating groups. The modified dirylethene derivative can photocyclolize under 405-nm light with a good photochromic efficiency. Meanwhile, its absorption and moderate fluorescence can be switched effectively in both directions by visible lights(405 and 520 nm, respectively) in different solutions and in living cells. 6Numerical prediction of fiber motion in a branching channel flow of fiber suspensions显示文摘Fiber orientation and dispersion in the dilute fibersuspension that flows through a T-shaped branching channel are simulated numerically based on the slender-body theory. The simulated results are consistent qualitatively with the experimental data available in the literature. The results show that the spatial distribution of fibers is dependent on the fiber aspect ratio, but has no relation with the volume fraction of fiber. The content ratio of fibers near the upper wall increases monotonically with an increasing Re number, and the situation is reverse for the region near the bottom wall.The orientation of fibers depends on Re number, however, the function of fiber volume fraction and aspect ratio is negligible. The fibers near the wall and in the central region of the channel align along the flow direction at all times, but the fibers in the other parts of the channel tend to align along the flow direction only in the downstream region.Jianzhong Lin Shanliang Zhang James A. 11Fluorescent probe gold nanodots to quick detect Cr(VI) via oxidoreduction quenching process显示文摘A method is described here for the quickly(<30 s) accurate determination of Cr(VI)(Cr_2O_7^(2-)), based on fluorescent probes gold nanodots(AuNDs, excitation/emission peaks at 395/604 nm) coated with glutathione(GSH). The fluorescence of the AuNDs responses linearly to Cr(VI) concentrations, ranging widely from 1 nM to 10 m M with detection limit as low as 0.35 nM. At the same time, the AuNDs is demonstrated highly selective for Cr(VI) detection over other acid group ions and metal ions without any masking reagent. These make probability for practical use. The quenching mechanism is investigated deeply via fluorescent lifetime, XPS and TEM analysis. Different from most reported quenching explanation of aggregation derived from charge attraction, these results verify the redox reaction between Cr_2O_7^(2-)and sulfhydryl(–S) of GSH. The Au(I)–S bonds of AuNDs broke, accompanies with the oxidation of –S to form S–S bonds. As a result, AuNDs cross linked to each other. In the end, the fluorescence quenched. 17Life cycle of Craspedacusta sowerbyi xinyangensis显示文摘To explore the life cycle of Craspedacusta,the authors collected male and female specimens of the Craspedacusta sowerbyi xinyangensis in a small fire-fighting pond in Ningbo,Zhejiang Province in July,2005 and 2006.The development of C.sowerbyi xinyangensis was studied from zygote to medusa by means of light microscopy and digital camera.The zygotes of C.sowerbyi xinyangensis are globular and smooth(90-105 μm diameter)and have an equal,total cleavage to the two-cell stage 15 min after fertilization.The embryos enter the four-cell stage after another 15 min and become multicellular embryos after 3h 15min.At this stage the embryos have a diameter similar to fertilized eggs but have uneven surfaces that are distinct from the smooth surfaces of the uncleaved zygotes.Solid gastrulae are formed 7 h after fertilization.These are spherical planulae with short surface cilia that begin to swim in slow clockwise circles.After 12 h,they lose their cilia,cease swimming and become elongated planulae with one end larger than the other.Rod-like planulae,similar in thickness at both ends,are formed after an additional 7 h.After 4 days,the planulae develop into tiny polyps having two germ layers and a gastrovascular cavity.The polyp mouth is 50-62 μm in diameter,lacking tentacles but having nematocysts around the mouth.Planulae become mature polyps after 10 days(15 days after fertilization).Medusa buds(45-88 μm diameter)are formed by polyp budding,which soon become free-living medusae with 8 tentacles(380-620 μm diameters).Sometimes,the movement of frustules,which are formed by the polyps and similar to planulae in morphology can also be observed.Shanliang XU Danli WANG 2009Current Zoology2009,55,3:1
