2Safety and efficacy of a nerve matrix membrane as a collagen nerve wrapping: a randomized, single-blind, multicenter clinical trial显示文摘A new nerve matrix membrane derived from decellularized porcine nerves has been shown to retain the major extracellular matrix components, and to be effective in preventing adhesion between the nerve anastomosis sites and the surrounding tissues in a rat sciatic nerve transection model, thereby enhancing regeneration of the nerve. The effectiveness of the membrane may be attributed to its various bioactive components. In this prospective, randomized, single-blind, parallel-controlled multicenter clinical trial, we compared the safety and efficacy of the new nerve matrix membrane with a previously approved bovine tendon-derived type I collagen nerve wrapping. A total of 120 patients with peripheral nerve injury were recruited from Beijing Jishuitan Hospital, The First Bethune Hospital of Jilin University, and Yantai Yuhuangding Hospital, China. The patients were randomly assigned to undergo end-to-end and tension-free neurorrhaphy with nerve matrix membrane(n = 60, 52 male, 8 female, mean age 41.34 years, experimental group) or tendon-derived collagen nerve wrapping(n = 60, 42 male, 18 female, mean age 40.17 years, control group). Patients were followed-up at 14 ± 5, 30 ± 7, 90 ± 10 and 180 ± 20 days after the operation. Safety evaluation included analyses of local and systemic reactions, related laboratory tests, and adverse reactions. Efficacy evaluation included a static 2-point discrimination test, a moving 2-point discrimination test, and a Semmes–Weinstein monofilament examination. Sensory nerve function was evaluated with the British Medical Research Council Scale and Semmes–Weinstein monofilament examination. The ratio(percentage) of patients with excellent to good results in sensory nerve recovery 180 ± 20 days after the treatment was used as the primary effectiveness index. The percentages of patients with excellent to good results in the experimental and control groups were 98.00% and 94.44%, respectively, with no significant difference between the two groups. There were no significant differences in the results of routine blood tests, liver and renal function tests, coagulation function tests, or immunoglobulin tests at 14 and 180 days postoperatively between the two groups. These findings suggest that the novel nerve matrix membrane is similar in efficacy to the commercially-available bovine-derived collagen membrane in the repair of peripheral nerve injury, and it may therefore serve as an alternative in the clinical setting. 3Yak rumen microbiome elevates fiber degradation ability and alters rumen fermentation pattern to increase feed efficiency显示文摘Rumen microbes play an important role in ruminant energy supply and animal performance.Previous studies showed that yak(Bos grunniens)rumen microbiome and fermentation differ from other ruminants.However,little is understood about the features of the rumen microbiome that make yak adapted to their unique environmental and dietary conditions.This study was to investigate the rumen microbiome and metabolome to understand how yak adapt to the coarse forage and harsh environment in the Qinghai-Tibetan plateau.Nine female Qaidam yellow cattle(Bos taurus),9 dzomo(hybrids of cattle and yak)and 9 female plateau yak(B.grunniens),about 5 to 6 years old,were used in this study.Rumen fermentation parameters,fibrolytic enzyme activities,and rumen metataxonomic were determined.Then 18(6 samples per group)were selected for rumen metagenomic and metabolome analysis.Metataxonomic analysis revealed that the rumen microbiota was significantly different among plateau yak,Qaidam yellow cattle,and dzomo(P<0.05).Metagenomic analysis displayed a larger gene pool encoding a richer repertoire of carbohydrate-active enzymes in the rumen microbiome of plateau yak and dzomo than Qaidam yellow cattle(P<0.05).Some of the genes encoding glycoside hydrolases that mediate the digestion of cellulose and hemicellulose were significantly enriched in the rumen of plateau yak than Qaidam yellow cattle,but glycoside hydrolase 57 that primarily includes amylases was abundant in Qaidam yellow cattle(P<0.05).The rumen fermentation profile differed also,Qaidam yellow cattle having a higher molar proportion of acetate but a lower molar proportion of propionate than dzomo and plateau yak(P<0.05).Based on metabolomic analysis,rumen microbial metabolic pathways and metabolites were different.Differential metabolites are mainly amino acids,carboxylic acids,sugars,and bile acids.Changes in rumen microbial composition could explain the above results.The present study showed that the rumen microbiome of plateau yak helps its host to adapt to the Qinghai-Tibetan plateau.In particular,the plateau yak rumen microbiome has more enzymes genes involved in cellulase and hemicellulase than that of cattle,resulting higher fibrolytic enzyme activities inyak,further providing stronger fiber degradation function.Congcong Zhao Lamei Wang Shanlin Ke Xinhua Chen Akos Kenez Wei Xu Dangdang Wang Fan Zhang Yong Li Zhanhong Cui Yu Qiao Jing Wang Wenjuan Sun Jianhua Zhao Junhu Yao Zhongtang Yu Yangchun Cao 2022Animal Nutrition2022,,4:1

5TLS-bridged co-prediction of tree-level multifarious stem structure variables from worldview-2 panchromatic imagery: a case study of the boreal forest显示文摘In forest ecosystem studies,tree stem structure variables(SSVs)proved to be an essential kind of parameters,and now simultaneously deriving SSVs of as many kinds as possible at large scales is preferred for enhancing the frontier studies on marcoecosystem ecology and global carbon cycle.For this newly emerging task,satellite imagery such as WorldView-2 panchromatic images(WPIs)is used as a potential solution for co-prediction of tree-level multifarious SSVs,with static terrestrial laser scanning(TLS)assumed as a‘bridge’.The specific operation is to pursue the allometric relationships between TLS-derived SSVs and WPI-derived feature parameters,and regression analyses with one or multiple explanatory variables are applied to deduce the prediction models(termed as Model1s and Model2s).In the case of Picea abies,Pinus sylvestris,Populus tremul and Quercus robur in a boreal forest,tests showed that Model1s and Model2s for different tree species can be derived(e.g.the maximum R^(2)=0.574 for Q.robur).Overall,this study basically validated the algorithm proposed for co-prediction of multifarious SSVs,and the contribution is equivalent to developing a viable solution for SSV-estimation upscaling,which is useful for large-scale investigations of forest understory,macroecosystem ecology,global vegetation dynamics and global carbon cycle.Yi Lin Tian Wei Bin Yang Yuri Knyazikhin Yuhu Zhang Hisashi Sato Xing Fang Xinlian Liang Lei Yan Shanlin Sun 2017International Journal of Digital Earth2017,10,7:0
6Dissimilar laser welding of CrMnFeCoNi high entropy alloy and 316LN stainless steel for cryogenic application显示文摘The microstructure and mechanical properties of dissimilar laser beam welded joint between CrMnFeCoNi alloy and 316LN stainless steel was investigated.The results showed that the defect-free dissimilar joint was obtained by laser beam welding.The ultimate strength of the welded joints can reach∼90%of the base materials at both room and cryogenic temperatures.The deformation substructure mainly consisted of planar dislocation,the stacking faults and the dissociation of stacking faults into nanotwins.The volume fraction of the nanotwins was increasing at cryogenic temperature.The hardness fluctuates greatly in welded joint and the lowest hardness was located at fusion zone near the fusion line.The fracture of the welded joint was located at the fusion zone in consistence with the lowest hardness area.It is mainly attributed to the coarse grain and stress concentration at this area.Jijun Xin Wei Wang Xiao Yang Mebrouka Boubeche Shanlin Wang Hengcheng Zhang Chuanjun Huang Yong Li Bingkun Lyu Fuzhi Shen Wentao Sun Laifeng Li 2023Journal of Materials Science & Technology2023,,32:0
