1Tissue-specific transcription reprogramming promotes liver metastasis of colorectal cancer显示文摘Metastasis,the development of secondary malignant growths at a distance from a primary tumor,is the cause of death for 90%of cancer patients,but little is known about how metastatic cancer cells adapt to and colonize new tissue environments.Here,using clinical samples,patient-derived xenograft(PDX)samples,PDX cells,and primary/metastatic cell lines,we discovered that liver metastatic colorectal cancer(CRC)cells lose their colon-specific gene transcription program yet gain a liver-specific gene transcription program.We showed that this transcription reprogramming is driven by a reshaped epigenetic landscape of both typical enhancers and super-enhancers.Further,we identified that the liver-specific transcription factors FOXA2 and HNF1A can bind to the gained enhancers and activate the liver-specific gene transcription,thereby driving CRC liver metastasis.Importantly,similar transcription reprogramming can be observed in multiple cancer types.Our data suggest that reprogrammed tissue-specific transcription promotes metastasis and should be targeted therapeutically.Shuaishuai Teng Yang Eric Li Ming Yang Rui Qi Yiming Huang Qianyu Wang Yanmei Zhang Shanwen Chen Shasha Li Kequan Lin Yang Cao Qunsheng Ji Qingyang Gu Yujing Cheng Zai Chang Wei Guo Pengyuan Wang Ivan Garcia-Bassets Zhi John Lu Dong Wang 2020Cell Research2020,30,1:11
2Apple leaf disease identification using genetic algorithm and correlation based feature selection method显示文摘Apple leaf disease is one of the main factors to constrain the apple production and quality.It takes a long time to detect the diseases by using the traditional diagnostic approach,thus farmers often miss the best time to prevent and treat the diseases.Apple leaf disease recognition based on leaf image is an essential research topic in the field of computer vision,where the key task is to find an effective way to represent the diseased leaf images.In this research,based on image processing techniques and pattern recognition methods,an apple leaf disease recognition method was proposed.A color transformation structure for the input RGB(Red,Green and Blue)image was designed firstly and then RGB model was converted to HSI(Hue,Saturation and Intensity),YUV and gray models.The background was removed based on a specific threshold value,and then the disease spot image was segmented with region growing algorithm(RGA).Thirty-eight classifying features of color,texture and shape were extracted from each spot image.To reduce the dimensionality of the feature space and improve the accuracy of the apple leaf disease identification,the most valuable features were selected by combining genetic algorithm(GA)and correlation based feature selection(CFS).Finally,the diseases were recognized by SVM classifier.In the proposed method,the selected feature subset was globally optimum.The experimental results of more than 90%correct identification rate on the apple diseased leaf image database which contains 90 disease images for there kinds of apple leaf diseases,powdery mildew,mosaic and rust,demonstrate that the proposed method is feasible and effective.Zhang Chuanlei Zhang Shanwen Yang Jucheng Shi Yancui Chen Jia 2017International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2017,10,2:7

6Effects of interlayer coupling on the excitons and electronic structures of WS_(2)/hBN/MoS_(2) van der Waals heterostructures显示文摘Inserting hexagonal boron nitride(hBN)as barrier layers into bilayer transition metal dichalcogenides heterointerface has been proved an efficient method to improve two dimensional tunneling optoelectronic device performance.Nevertheless,the physical picture of interlayer coupling effect during incorporation of monolayer(1L-)hBN is not explicit yet.In this article,spectroscopic ellipsometry was used to experimentally obtain the broadband excitonic and critical point properties of WS_(2)/MoS_(2)and WS_(2)/hBN/MoS_(2)van der Waals heterostructures.We find that 1L-hBN can only slightly block the interlayer electron transfer from WS_(2)layer to MoS_(2)layer.Moreover,insertion of 1L-hBN weakens the interlayer coupling effect by releasing quantum confinement and reducing efficient dielectric screening.Consequently,the exciton binding energies in WS_(2)/hBN/MoS_(2)heterostructures blueshift comparing to those in WS_(2)/MoS_(2)heterostructures.In this exciton binding energies tuning process,the reducing dielectric screening effect plays a leading role.In the meantime,the quasi-particle(QP)bandgap remains unchanged before and after 1L-hBN insertion,which is attributed to released quantum confinement and decreased dielectric screening effects canceling each other.Unchanged QP bandgap as along with blueshift exciton binding energies lead to the redshift exciton transition energies in WS_(2)/hBN/MoS_(2)heterostructures.Xudan Zhu Junbo He Rongjun Zhang Chunxiao Cong Yuxiang Zheng Hao Zhang Songyou Wang Haibin Zhao Meiping Zhu Shanwen Zhang Shaojuan Li Liangyao Chen 2022Nano Research2022,15,3:1

9The environmental adaptability and reproductive properties of invasive green alga Codium fragile from the Nan'ao Island,South China Sea显示文摘It has been widely recognized that biological invasion has become one of the greatest threats to the ecosystem.Codium fragile is an invasive species which exhibits a variety of attributes like parthenogenesis,winter fragment,and vegetative reproduction;and therefore,it has become a successful invader,colonizing most subtropical regions.In China’s southeast coastal aquaculture waters,the green algal bloom caused by C.fragile will probably become a serious problem.In order to understand more details about the species,an experiment focused on its reproductive characteristics was conducted using culture established from a sample collected in the aquaculture raft of the Nan’ao Island in the South China Sea.The results showed that there were two types of gametes resembling aplanospores and zoospores respectively,both of which were able to germinate.During the gametes liberation,a long mucilage tube was formed out of the mouth of the gametangium assisting dispersal of gametes away from the parent plant.This tube was adapted not only to its surrounding flowing water environment but also to its parent plant’s outer gelatinous structure.In general,the optimum temperature for gametes release and germination was 15-20℃ and 15℃,respectively,which corresponded to the local offshore marine water.The plant was observed to produce vegetative buds under favourable reproductive conditions which were called propagules.They were capable of developing into filamentous thalli.The results will provide some scientific evidences for revealing the biological mechanism of bloom and control strategies of invasive green algae.Lanping Ding Xulei Wang Bingxin Huang Weizhou Chen Shanwen Chen 2022Acta Oceanologica Sinica2022,41,3:0
10Supraclinoid internal carotid artery blister-like aneurysms:hypothesized pathogenesis and microsurgical clipping outcomes显示文摘Background:Blister-like aneurysms(BLAs)on the supraclinoid segment of the internal carotid artery(ICA)are an enigma of cerebrovascular disease.Neither has a definite pathogenesis been so far identified,nor have uniform treatment guidelines been established for them.Our aim was to develop a hypothesis regarding the evolution of BLAs according to their macroscopic morphologies and to evaluate the efficacy of microsurgical clipping.Methods:The clinical data and morphological features of 15 consecutive patients with 16 BLAs on the supraclinoid ICA were retrospectively reviewed.The treatment strategies were analyzed,and functional outcomes were evaluated using the modified Rankin scale(mRS).Favorable outcomes were defined as a mRS score of 0-2.Results:Morphologically,aneurysm growth with expansion of the aneurysm neck before the surgical procedure occurred in two ruptured and one unruptured aneurysm.Daughter bleb formation was observed in two ruptured and five unruptured aneurysms.A varied degree of parent artery sclerosis was observed in nine patients.Thirteen patients were treated with direct surgical clipping,one patient was treated with clipping and wrapping,and the remaining patient was treated with an encircling clipping graft.Favorable and unfavorable outcomes were observed in 13 and two cases,respectively.Follow-up angiograms revealed 4 cases of stenosis with respective degree of mild,30%,50%,and 80%without any neurological dysfunction.Conclusions:We suggest a hypothesis that BLAs on the supraclinoid ICA may share different evolving mechanisms between ruptured and unruptured lesions.A majority of them can be reliably and safely obliterated by direct clipping technique,except for the aneurysms accompanied with severely atherosclerotic parent walls.Shanwen Chen Xin Chen Bo Ning Yong Cao Shuo Wang 2022Chinese Neurosurgical Journal2022,8,1:0
