5Advance in highly efficient hydrogen production by high temperature steam electrolysis显示文摘High Temperature Steam Electrolysis (HTSE) through a solid oxide electrolytic cell (SOEC) has been receiving increasing research and development attention worldwide because of its high conversion efficiency (about 45%-59%) and its potential usage for large-scale production of hydrogen. The mechanism, composition, structure, and developing challenges of SOEC are summarized. 7Wogonoside inhibits tumor growth and metastasis in endometrial cancer via ER stress-Hippo signaling axis显示文摘Wogonoside,a bioactive flavonoid component derived from Scutellaria baicalensis Georgi,has been reported to inhibit tumor growth in mice bearing various types of cancer cells such as breast cancer,lung cancer,and leukemia cells.However,whether wogonoside could inhibit tumor growth of endometrial cancer has not been elucidated.In this study,we explored the function of wogonoside on tumor growth and the underlying mechanism on endometrial cancer.Firstly,we investigated the effect of wogonoside on endometrial cancer cells and found that wogonoside could significantly decrease cell proliferation and metastasis.Mechanistically,wogonoside could aggravate the extent of ER stress and upregulate the phosphorylation level of Mammalian Ste20-like kinase 1,leading to the activation of the Hippo signaling pathway.Taken together,in vitro and in vivo data demonstrated that wogonoside could be a potent inducer of ER stress and could be further developed into a promising therapy for endometrial cancer.Shaorong Chen Zhuna Wu Yumin Ke Pingping Shu Caihong Chen Ruying Lin Qirong Shi 2019Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2019,51,11:8

12Nuclear m^(6)A reader YTHDC1 regulates the scaffold function of LINE1 RNA in mouse ESCs and early embryos显示文摘N^(6)-methyladenosine(m^(6)A)on chromosome-associated regulatory RNAs(carRNAs),including repeat RNAs,plays important roles in tuning the chromatin state and transcription,but the intrinsic mechanism remains unclear.Here,we report that YTHDC1 plays indispensable roles in the self-renewal and differentiation potency of mouse embryonic stem cells(ESCs),which highly depends on the m^(6)A-binding ability.Ythdcl is required for sufficient rRNA synthesis and repression of the 2-cell(2C)transcriptional program in ESCs,which recapitulates the transcriptome regulation by the LINE1 scaffold.Detailed analyses revealed that YTHDC1 recognizes m^(6)A on LINE1 RNAs in the nucleus and regulates the formation of the LINE1-NCL partnership and the chromatin recruitment of KAP1.Moreover,the establishment of H3K9me3 on 2C-related retrotrans-posons is interrupted in Ythdcl-depleted ESCs and inner cell mass(ICM)cells,which consequently increases the transcriptional activities.Our study reveals a role of m^(6)A in regulating the RNA scaffold,providing a new model for the RNA-chromatin cross-talk.Chuan Chen Wenqiang Liu Jiayin Guo Yuanyuan Liu Xuelian Liu Jun Liu Xiaoyang Dou Rongrong Le Yixin Huang Chong Li Lingyue Yang Xiaochen Kou Yanhong Zhao You Wu Jiayu Chen Hong Wang Bin Shen Yawei Gao Shaorong Gao 2021Protein & Cell2021,12,6:4

14In situ localization of calmodulin mRNA in the developing tobacco anthers显示文摘The temporal and spatial expression patterns of calmodulin mRNA in the developing tobacco anthers were investigated by in situ RNA hybridization, using digoxigening-labeled anti-RNA probe. Calmodulin mRNA was distributed in various developmental stages of tobacco anthers, but the expression level had temporal and spatial differences distinctly. During early stage of anther development, the expression level of calmodulin mRNA was significantly high, mainly distributed in epidermis, tapetum and transfusion parenchyma cells and so on. Especially, more mRNA was accumulated in the nuclei and chromosomes of microspore mother cells prior to and during meiosis. With the development of anther,mRNA was decreased gradually in the anther wall and pollen. By mature pollen stage, only a stronger positive reaction still existed in the epidermis of anther wall and transfusion parenchyma cells. 18Stiffening of sickle cell trait red blood cells under simulated strenuous exercise conditions显示文摘The higher risk of vaso-occlusion events and sudden death for sickle-cell trait(SCT)athletes has been speculatively ascribed to SCT red blood cell(RBC)stiffening during strenuous exercise.However,the microenvironmental changes that could induce the stiffening of SCT RBCs are unknown.To address this question,we measured the mechanical properties of and changes in SCT RBCs under deoxygenated and acidic environments,which are two typical conditions present in the circulation of athletes undertaking strenuous exercise.The results reveal that SCT RBCs are inherently stiffer than RBCs from non-SCT healthy subjects,and a lower pH further stiffens the SCT cells.Furthermore,at both normal and low pH levels,deoxygenation was found to not be the cause of the stiffness of SCT RBCs.This study confirms that the stiffening of SCT RBCs occurs at a low pH and implies that SCT RBC stiffening could be responsible for vaso-occlusion in SCT athletes during strenuous exercise.Zhensong Xu Yi Zheng Xian Wang Nadine Shehata Chen Wang Shaorong Xie Yu Sun 2016Microsystems & Nanoengineering2016,2,1:2
19Transparent,stretchable,temperature-stable and self-healing ionogel-based triboelectric nanogenerator for biomechanical energy collection显示文摘A flexible and stable power supply is essential to the rapid development of wearable electronic devices.In this work,a transparent,flexible,temperature-stable and ionogel electrode-based self-healing triboelectric nanogenerator(IS-TENG)was developed.The ionogel with excellent stretchability(1,012%),high ionic conductivity(0.3 S·m^(−1))and high-temperature stability(temperature range of−77 to 250℃)was used as the electrode of the IS-TENG.The IS-TENG exhibited excellent transparency(92.1%)and stability.The output performance did not decrease when placed in a 60℃oven for 48 h.In addition,the IS-TENG behaved like a stable output in the range of−20 to 60℃.More importantly,the IS-TENG could also achieve self-healing of electrical performance at temperatures between−20 and 60℃and its output can be restored to its original state after healing.When the single-electrode IS-TENG with an area of 3 cm×3 cm was conducted under the working frequency of 1.5 Hz,the output values for open-circuit voltage,short-circuit current,short-circuit transferred charge,and maximum peak power density were 189 V,6.2μA,57 nC,and 2.17 W·m^(−2),respectively.The IS-TENG enables to harvest biomechanical energy,and drive electronic devices.Furthermore,the application of IS-TENGs as self-driven sensors for detecting human behavior was also demonstrated,showing good application prospects in the field of wearable power technology and self-driven sensing.Weiqiang Liao Xiukun Liu Yuqi Li Xu Xu Jinxing Jiang Shaorong Lu Dequan Bao Zhen Wen Xuhui Sun 2022Nano Research2022,15,3:2
