1Effect of ginseng polysaccharides and dendritic cells on the balance of Th1/Th2 T helper cells in patients with non-small cell lung cancer显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effect of thorascopic administration of ginseng polysaccharides(GPS)plus dendritic cells(DC) on T helper cell type 1/T helper cell type 2(Th1/Th2) balance in patients with non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC).METHODS: A total of 96 NSCLC patients were divided evenly into two groups. The control group was treated with DCs alone and the treatment group was treated with DCs plus GPS. After DCs and GPS were administered thoracoscopically, once a week,4 times for 30 days, the patients' quality of life was measured with the Functional Assessment of Can-cer Treatment-Lung(FACT-L) questionnaire before and after treatment. Serum interferon-γ(INF-γ), interleukin-4(IL-4), IL-2 and IL-5 were examined before and after treatments.RESULTS: The level of Th1 cytokines(INF-γ, IL-2)and the ratio of Th1/Th2 cytokines(INF-γ/IL-4, IL-2/IL-5) increased in both treatment groups, while Th2cytokines(IL-4, IL-5) and FACT-L scores decreased(P<0.01). Furthermore, after treatment Th1 cytokines(INF-γ, IL-2) and the ratio of Th1/Th2 cytokines(INF-γ/IL-4, IL-2/IL-5) were higher in the DCs +GPS group than in the control group(P<0.05). Conversely, FACT-L scores and Th2 cytokines(IL-4, IL-5)were higher in the control group than in the DCs +GPS group(P<0.05).CONCLUSION: The treatment regime of DCs plus GPS had a greater effect on NSCLC patients' immune function as compared with DCs alone. 3Antibacterial and angiogenic chitosan microneedle array patch for promoting wound healing显示文摘A patch with the capability of avoiding wound infection and promoting tissue remolding is of great value for wound healing.In this paper,we develop a biomass chitosan microneedle array(CSMNA)patch integrated with smart responsive drug delivery for promoting wound healing.Chitosan possesses many outstanding features such as the natural antibacterial property and has been widely utilized for wound healing.Besides,the microstructure of microneedles enables the effective delivery of loaded drugs into the target area and avoids the excessive adhesion between the skin and the patch.Also,vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF)is encapsulated in the micropores of CSMNA by temperature sensitive hydrogel.Therefore,the smart release of the drugs can be controllably realized via the temperature rising induced by the inflammation response at the site of wounds.It is demonstrated that the biomass CSMNA patch can promote inflammatory inhibition,collagen deposition,angiogenesis,and tissue regeneration during the wound closure.Thus,this versatile CSMNA patch is potentially valuable for wound healing in clinical applications.Junjie Chi Xiaoxuan Zhang Canwen Chen Changmin Shao Yuanjin Zhao Yongan Wang 2020Bioactive Materials2020,5,2:25
4Recent progress in mass spectrometry proteomics for biomedical research显示文摘Proteins are the key players in many cellular processes. Their composition, trafficking, and interactions underlie the dynamic processes of life. Furthermore, diseases are frequently accompanied by malfunction of proteins at multiple levels. Understanding how biological processes are regulated at the protein level is critically important to understanding the molecular basis for diseases and often shed light on disease prevention, diagnosis, and treatment. With rapid advances in mass spectrometry(MS)instruments and experimental methodologies, MS-based proteomics has become a reliable and essential tool for elucidating biological processes at the protein level. Over the past decade, we have witnessed great expansion of knowledge of human diseases with the application of MS-based proteomic technologies, which has led to many exciting discoveries. Herein we review the recent progress in MS-based proteomics in biomedical research, including that in establishing disease-related proteomes and interactomes. 9PM_(2.5)-bound polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons(PAHs) in Beijing:Seasonal variations,sources,and risk assessment显示文摘Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons(PAHs) have been of health concern due to its carcinogenesis and mutagenesis. In this study, we aimed to assess the variations, sources, and lifetime excessive cancer risk(ECR) attributable to PAHs bound to ambient particulate matters with aerodynamic diameter less than 2.5 μm(PM_(2.5)) in metropolitan Beijing, China. We collected24-hour integrated PM_(2.5) samples on daily basis between November 2014 and June 2015 across both central heating(cold months) and non-heating(warm months) seasons, and further analyzed the PAH components in these daily PM_(2.5) samples. Our results showed that total concentrations of PM_(2.5)-bound PAHs varied between(88.6 ± 75.4) ng/m^3 in the cold months and(11.0 ± 5.9) ng/m^3 in the warm months. Benzo[a]pyrene(Ba P), the carcinogenic marker of PAHs,averaged at 5.7 and 0.4 ng/m^3 in the cold and warm months, respectively. Source apportionment analyses illustrated that gasoline, biomass burning, diesel, coal combustion and cooking were the major contributors, accounting for 12.9%, 17.8%, 24.7%, 24.3% and 6.4% of PM_(2.5)-bound PAHs, respectively. The BaP equivalent lifetime ECR from inhalation of PM_(2.5)-bound PAHs was 16.2 cases per million habitants. Our results suggested that ambient particulate reduction from energy reconstruction and adaption of clean fuels would result in reductions PM_(2.5)-bound PAHs and its associated cancer risks. 10Soil Bacterial Communities Under Different Long-Term Fertilization Regimes in Three Locations Across the Black Soil Region of Northeast China显示文摘Although soil bacteria play critical roles in agro-ecosystems, the knowledge of their response to long-term fertilization across the black soil region of Northeast China is limited. In this study, we sequenced 16 S rRNA genes to assess the effects of four long-term fertilization regimes—non-fertilization(NoF), chemical fertilizer(CF), manure(M), and chemical fertilizer plus manure(CFM)—on soil properties and bacterial communities in three locations, the northern, middle, and southern parts, across the black soil region. Results showed that the influence of fertilization regimes on soil properties varied significantly among the three locations. Manure fertilization significantly increased microbial biomass carbon and relative abundance of copiotrophic bacteria. Principal component analysis(PCA)showed that the total bacterial communities were separated into three groups according to the sampling location despite long-term fertilization, and that soil pH was the most important factor in shifting bacterial communities. In addition, similar fertilization regimes resulted in different influences on bacterial community composition, and the most influential soil properties varied among the three locations. 11Changes in active functional groups during low-temperature oxidation of coal显示文摘Using Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) combined with an adiabatic oxidation test, temperature-programmed oxidation and gas analysis, we studied the changes of active functional groups during low-temperature oxidation of lignite, gas coal, fat coal and anthracite. During slow low-temperature heat accumulation, aliphatic hydrocarbons, such as methyl and methylene, are attacked by oxygen atoms absorbed by pores on coal surfaces, generating unstable solid intermediate carbon-oxygen complexes, which then decompose into gaseous products (CO, CO2) and stable solid complexes. 14Growth and nutrient dynamics of Betula alnoides seedlings under exponential fertilization显示文摘Betula alnoides is a fast-growing hardwood species grown in large plantations in Southeast Asia and South China.Nitrogen requirements for producing robus seedlings,growth and nutrient dynamics were investigated using exponential fertilization treatments.Root collar diameter,height,dry mass and nutrient contents of seedlings increased exponentially in all fertilization treatments as time progressed.Moreover,with water soluble fertilizer(Plant Products plus microelements N–P_2O_5–K_2O:20–20–20),300 mg N seedling^(-1)was adequate.Vector analysis revealed that P was the most responsive nutrient element followed by N and K.Dilutions of N and K were evident in the plants without N addition,which induced initial P sufficiency and then luxury consumption probably due to the antagonistic interaction between N and P.However deficiencies of N,P and K were mostly observed in al exponential regimes during the experiment because seedling growth rate exceeded nutrient uptake rate,inferring that further study on improving the nutrient uptake efficiency is needed.Analysis of relationships among nutrient supply,dry mass,N content and N concentration demonstrated that 100–400 mg N seedling^(-1)induced sufficiency to luxury consumption of nitrogen without significant change in dry mass,and 400 mg N seedling^(-1)is recommended to apply for nutrient loading of seedlings before outplanting.The findings will help improve seedling quality and enhance the production of robust seedlings for plantation forestry of this species.Lin Chen Chunsheng Wang Bernard Dell Zhigang Zhao Junjie Guo Daping Xu Jie Zeng 2018Journal of Forestry Research2018,29,1:14
15Punicalagin ameliorates collagen-induced arthritis by downregulating M1 macrophage and pyroptosis via NF-κB signaling pathway显示文摘Rheumatoid arthritis(RA)is a chronic inflammatory disease that eventually leads to disability.Inflammatory cell infiltration,severe joint breaking and systemic bone loss are the main clinical symptoms.In this study,we established a collagen-induced arthritis(CIA)model and found a large number of M1 macrophages and pyroptosis,which are important sources of proinflammatory cytokines.Punicalagin(PUN)is an active substance extracted from pomegranate peel.We found that it inhibited joint inflammation,cartilage damage and systemic bone destruction in CIA mice.PUN effectively alleviated the high expression of inflammatory cytokines in synovial tissue in vivo.PUN treatment shifted macrophages from the M1 phenotype to the M2 phenotype after stimulation with lipopolysaccharide(LPS)and interferon(IFN)-γ.The expression of inducible nitric oxide synthase(i NOS)and other proinflammatory cytokines released by M1 macrophages was decreased in the PUN treatment group.However,simultaneously,the expression of markers of anti-inflammatory M2 macrophages,such as arginase(Arg)-1 and interleukin(IL)-10,was increased.In addition,PUN treatment attenuated pyroptosis by downregulating the expression of NLRP3 and caspase-1,thereby preventing inflammatory cell death resulting from the release of IL-1βand IL-18.Mechanistically,PUN inhibited the activation of receptor activators of the nuclear factor-κB(NF-κB)signaling pathway,which contributes to M1 polarization and pyroptosis of macrophages.We concluded that PUN ameliorated pathological inflammation by inhibiting M1 phenotype polarization and pyroptosis and has great potential as a therapeutic treatment for human RA.Gaoran Ge Jiaxiang Bai Qing Wang Xiaolong Liang Huaqiang Tao Hao Chen Minggang Wei Junjie Niu Huilin Yang Yaozeng Xu Yuefeng Hao Yi Xue Dechun Geng 2022Science China(Life Sciences)2022,65,3:14
16Algorithm for Detecting Volumetric Geometric Accuracy of NC Machine Tool by Laser Tracker显示文摘Quick and accurate detecting the error of NC machine tool and performing the error compensation are important to improve the machining accuracy of NC machine tool.Currently,there are many methods for detecting the geometric accuracy of NC machine tool.However,these methods have deficiencies in detection efficiency and accuracy as well as in versatility.In the paper,a method with laser tracker based on the multi-station and time-sharing measurement principle is proposed,and this method can rapidly and accurately detect the geometric accuracy of NC machine tool.The machine tool is controlled to move in the preset path in a 3D space or 2D plane,and a laser tracker is used to measure the same motion trajectory of the machine tool successively at different base stations.The original algorithm for multi-station and time-sharing measurement is improved.The space coordinates of the measuring point obtained by the laser tracker are taken as parameter values,and the initial position of each base point can be determined.The redundant equation concerning the base point calibration can be established by the distance information of the laser tracker,and the position of each base point is further determined by solving the equation with least squares method,then the space coordinates of each measuring point can be calibrated.The singular matrix does not occur in calculation with the improved algorithm,which overcomes the limitations of the original algorithm,that the motion trajectory of machine tool is in a 3D space and there exits height difference between the base stations.Adopting the improved algorithm can expand the application of multi-station and time-sharing measurement,and can meet the quick and accurate detecting requirements for different types of NC machine tool.WANG Jindong GUO Junjie 2013Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering2013,26,1:13
17Experiment on Leader Propagation Characteristics of Air Gaps in UHVDC Transmission Towers Under Positive Switching Impulse Voltages显示文摘Rapid developments in EHV/UHV transmission systems require a deeper understanding of the mechanism of long air gap discharge.Leader propagation is one of the main processes in long gap breakdown.In this paper,the leader propagation characteristics of real size±800 kV UHVDC transmission tower gaps under positive switching impulse voltages(185/2290μs)are investigated.An integrated observation platform consisting of an impulse voltage divider,a coaxial shunt,a high-speed video camera,and a set of integrated optical electric field sensors(IOES),is established.The waveforms of impulse voltage,discharge current,electric field variation at specific positions,and time-resolved photographs of discharge morphology are recorded.Axial leader velocity and the relationship between leader advancements and injected charge are obtained.The typical value of leader stable propagation velocity is 1.7–2.2 cm/μs,which varies slightly with the gap length and applied voltage amplitude.The leader velocity in the re-illumination process is much higher,and is seen as varying from 5 cm/μs to 30 cm/μs,with an average value around 10 cm/μs.The charge in leader channel per unit length is 20–40μC/m,which illustrates a near-direct proportion relationship between discharge current and leader velocity.The observed parameters are important for further simulation of the tower gap breakdown processes.Xuan Zhou She Chen Hai Wang Rong Zeng Chijie Zhuang Junjie Yu Yujian Ding 2015CSEE Journal of Power and Energy Systems2015,1,3:12
18Numerical simulation of bubble plumes in overlying water of gas hydrate in the cold seepage active region显示文摘To study the seismic responses produced by gas hydrate bubble plumes in the cold seepage active region, we constructed a plume water body model based on random medium theory and acoustic velocity model of bubble medium. The plume water body model was forward simulated by finite difference. Seismic records of single shot show the scattered waves produced by the plume. The scattered wave energy is strong where the plume exists. Where the scattered wave energy is stronger, the minimum of travel time is always above the plume, which has no relationship with the shot's position. Seismic records of shot gathers were processed by prestack time migration. The migration section shows that the scattered waves produced by plumes can be imaged distinctly with higher accuracy. The high corrosion resistance of HEAs was frequently mentioned but without convincing explanations. In this paper, the intrinsic mechanism of corrosion resistance in FCC HEAs was revealed by designing equal atomic alloys with single solid solution phase.
