Time range of Mesozoic tectonic regime inversion in eastern North China Block显示文摘An important tectonic inversion took place in eastern North China Block(NCB) during Mesozoic, which caused a great lithosphere thinning, reconstruction of basin-range series, powerful interaction between mantle and crust, a vast granitic intrusion and volcanism, and large-scale metallogenic explosion. The time range of the Mesozoic tectonic regime inversion in the eastern North China Block is one of the key issues to understand mechanism of tectonic regime inversion. Our updated results for recognizing the time range are mainly obtained from the following aspects: structural analyses along northern and southern margins of the NCB and within the NCB for revealing tectonic inversion from compression to extension and structural striking from ~EW to NNE; geothermic analyses of the eastern sedimental basins for a great change of thermal history and regime; basin analysis for basin inversion from compression to extension and basin migration from ~EW to NNE; petrological and geochemical studies of volcanic rocks and lowermost crust xenoliths for recognizing peak period of mantle upwelling and intense interaction between mantle and crust, and main metallogenic epoch. All the studies of the above give the same time range from~150-140 Ma to ~110-100Ma, peaking at ~120 Ma. | ZHAI Mingguo ZHU Rixiang LIU Jianming MENG Qingren HOU Quanlin HU Shengbiao LIU Wei LI Zhong ZHANG Hongfu ZHANG Huafeng | 2004 | Science China Earth Sciences2004,47,2: | 89
Palaeogeothermal response and record of the effusing of Emeishan basalts in the Sichuan basin显示文摘Thermal history of the Sichuan basin is reconstructed based on vitrinite reflectance from boreholes in the basin using a paleo-heat flow method. The results show that the Sichuan basin experienced a relatively low heat flow period in the Early Paleozoic, and an elevated paleo-heat flow, ranging 60-80 mW/m2 with a maximum as high as 100 mW/m2 around 259 Ma,from the beginning of the Late Paleozoic to the end of the early Permian, and a decreased paleo-heat flow from the late Permian to the late Triassic, and then maintained nearly stable to the present. The Late Paleozoic paleo-heat flow was quite high where there were extensive Emeishan flood basalts or concealed basalts which erupted between the early and the late Permian, such as the southwestern and northeastern areas of the Sichuan basin.According to the distribution of paleo-heat flow,it can be inferred that, the northeastern Sichuan basin was also influenced by the Emeishan magmatic activity during the Dongwu movement though there was lack of Emeishan flood basalts. In addition, the results of thermal history reconstruction of the Sichuan basin provide paleogeothermal evidence for the existence and onset of the Emaishan mantle plume. | ZHU ChuanQing XU Ming YUAN YuSon ZHAO YongQing SHAN JingNan HE ZhiGuo TIAN YunTao HU ShengBiao | 2010 | Chinese Science Bulletin2010,55,10: | 30
Promotion of spinosad biosynthesis by chromosomal integration of the Vitreoscilla hemoglobin gene in Saccharopolyspora spinosa显示文摘To promote spinosad biosynthesis by improving the limited oxygen supply during high-density fermentation of Saccharopolyspora spinosa, the open reading frame of the Vitreoscilla hemoglobin gene was placed under the control of the promoter for the erythromycin resistance gene by splicing using overlapping extension PCR. This was cloned into the integrating vector pSET152, yielding the Vitreoscilla hemoglobin gene expression plasmid pSET152EVHB. This was then introduced into S. spinosa SP06081 by conjugal transfer, and integrated into the chromosome by site-specific recombination at the integration site ΦC31 on pSET152EVHB. The resultant conjugant, S. spinosa S078-1101, was genetically stable. The integration was further confirmed by PCR and Southern blotting analysis. A carbon monoxide differential spectrum assay showed that active Vitreoscilla hemoglobin was successfully expressed in S. spinosa S078-1101. Fermentation results revealed that expression of the Vitreoscilla hemoglobin gene significantly promoted spinosad biosynthesis under normal oxygen and moderately oxygen-limiting conditions (P<0.01). These findings demonstrate that integrating expression of the Vitreoscilla hemoglobin gene improves oxygen uptake and is an effective means for the genetic improvement of S. spinosa fermentation. | LUO YuShuang KOU XiaoXiao DING XueZhi HU ShengBiao TANG Ying LI WenPing HUANG Fan YANG Qi CHEN HanNa XIA LiQiu | 2012 | Science China(Life Sciences)2012,55,2: | 14
Comparison of coalbed gas generation between Huaibei-Huainan coalfields and Qinshui coal basin based on the tectono-thermal modeling显示文摘The geothermal history and the tectonic subsidence history of the Huaibei-Huainan coalfields were reconstructed by using the vitrinite reflectance data, and their correlative restriction on coalbed gas generation of Huaibei-Huainan coalfields and Qinshui coal basin was discussed. The burial, thermal, and maturity histories of are similar between Huaibei coalfield and Huainan coalfield, obviously different from those of Qinshui coal basin. Based on the tectono-thermal evolution characters of Huaibei-Huainan coalfields and Qinshui basin, the process of coalbed gas generation can be divided into three stages: (1) During Early Mesozoic, both in Huaibei-Huainan and Qinshui, the buried depth of Permian coal seams increased rapidly, which resulted in strong metamorphism and high burial temperature of coal seams. At this stage, the coal rank was mainly fat coal, and locally reached coking coal. These created an environment favoring the generation of thermogenic gas. (2) From Late Jurassic to Cretaceous, in the areas of Huaibei-Huainan, the strata suffered from erosion and the crust became thinning, and the Permian coal-bearing strata were uplifted to surface. At this stage, the thermogenic gas mostly escaped. Conversely, in Qinshui basin, the cover strata of coal seams kept intact during this stage, and the thermogenic gas were mostly preserved. Furthermore, with the interaction of magmatism, the burial temperature of coal seams reached higher peak value, and it was suitable for the secondary generation of thermogenic gas. (3) From Paleogene onward, in area of Huainan-Huaibei, the maturity of coal and burial temperature were propitious to the generation of secondary biogenic gases. However, in Qinshui basin, the maturity of coal went against genesis of second biogenic gas or thermogenic gas. By comparison, Huaibei-Huainan coalfields are dominated by thermogenic gas with a significant biogenic gas and hydrodynamic overprint, whereas Qinshui basin is dominated mainly by thermogenic gas. | WU YuDong JU YiWen HOU QuanLin HU ShengBiao PAN JieNan FAN JunJia | 2011 | Science China Earth Sciences2011,54,7: | 13
Terrestrial heat flow in Junggar Basin, Northwest China显示文摘Based on temperature logs of 117 boreholes and thermal conductivity of 119 rock samples, the first group of 35 heat flow data in the Junggar Basin are presented. The thermal gradients vary between 11.6 and 26.5℃/km , and the thermal conductivity changes from 0.17 to 3.6 W/mK. Heat flow ranges from 23.4 to 53.7 mW/m2 with a mean of (42.3±7.7) mW/m2. The heat flow pattern shows that heat flow is higher in the uplifts and lower in the depressions. The factors affecting the heat flow and its distribution include basin type, basement structure, sediment thickness, radioactive heat generation, etc. The overall low present-day heat flow in the Junggar Basin reflected its tectonothermal evolution characterized by lithospheric thickening, thrust and fault at shallow crust as well as consequently quick subsidence during the Late Cenozoic. | WANG Shejiao HU Shengbiao LI Tiejun WANG Jiyang ZHAO Wenzhi | 2000 | Chinese Science Bulletin2000,45,19: | 10
Thermal history of the Sichuan Basin,SW China:Evidence from deep boreholes显示文摘The Sichuan Basin is a superimposition basin composed of terrestrial and marine sediments that is well known for its abundant petroleum resources. Thermal history reconstruction using paleogeothermal indicators, including vitrinite reflectance and thermochronological data, shows that different structural subsections of the Sichuan Basin have experienced various paleogeothermal episodes since the Paleozoic. The lower structural subsection comprising the Lower Paleozoic to Middle Permian(Pz–P_2) successions experienced a high paleogeothermal gradient(23.0–42.6°C/km) at the end of the Middle Permian(P_2), whereas the upper structural subsection comprising Late Permian to Mesozoic strata underwent a relatively lower paleogeothermal gradient(13.2–26.9°C/km) at the beginning of the denudation(Late Cretaceous or Paleocene in the different regions). During the denudation period, the Sichuan Basin experienced a successive cooling episode. The high paleogeothermal gradient resulted from an intensive thermal event correlated to the Emeishan mantle plume. The heat flow value reached 124.0 m W/m^2 in the southwestern basin near the center of the Emeishan large igneous province. The low geothermal gradient episode with heat flow ranging from 31.2 to 70.0 m W/m^2 may be related to the foreland basin evolution. The cooling event is a result of the continuous uplift and denudation of the basin. | ZHU Chuan Qing HU ShengBiao QIU NanSheng RAO Song YUAN YuSong | 2016 | Science China Earth Sciences2016,59,1: | 9
Thermal regime transition in eastern North China and its tectonic implication显示文摘The pre-Cenozoic formation in the Cenozoic depositon centres in eastern North China reached its maximum temperature at present, and the earlier paleo-temperature, therefore, has been overprinted, but the record of paleo-temperature by the vitrinite reflectance (Ro) has not been overprinted by the later thermal events in the pre-Cenozoic formation located in the uplift or in the Paleozoic-Mesozoic residual basins out of the Cenozoic depositon centres. The reconstruction of paleo-temperature gradient and paleo-heat flow, based on the vitrinite reflectance in the Paleozoic and the Mesozoic structural layers in boreholes, indicated that the eastern North China was characterized by much higher paleo-temperature gradient (40-55℃/km) and heat flow (>80 mW/m2) during the Middle-Late Mesozoic than those in the Early Mesozoic and at present. The higher paleo-heat flow during the Middle-Late Mesozoic implies that the thickness of the 'thermal' lithosphere at that time was just 50-55 km, it had been much thinned relative to the thickness (135-148 km) at the Early Mesozoic. The transition of near-surface thermal regime in eastern North China occurred around 110 Ma, and the corresponding deep tectonothermal processes should take place at ~160 Ma. | FU Mingxi HU Shengbiao WANG Jiyang | 2005 | Science China Earth Sciences2005,48,6: | 8
Structures of the Bohai Petroliferous Area,Bohai Bay Basin显示文摘This paper, for the first time, deals with a more systematic study of the structures in the Bohaipetroliferous area that covers nearly one third of the Bohai Bay basin. The study mainly involves the effects of preexisting basement faults on the basin formation, the characteristics of basin geometry and kinetics, the modelling of the tectonic-thermal history, the polycyclicity and heterogeneity in the structural evolution and the natural seismic tomographic images of the crust and upper mantle. The authors analyze the features of the dynamic evolution of the basin in the paper and point out that the basin in the Bohai petroliferous area is an extensional pull-apart basin. | CAI Dongsheng LUO Yuhui YAO Changhua HE Jiankun HU Shengbiao LU Huafu WANG Liangshu | 2000 | Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2000,74,3: | 8
Geothermal measurements in the pilot-boreholes of the China Continental Scientific Drilling显示文摘The geothermal measurements in the pilot-boreholes of the China Continental Scientific Drilling (CCSD) indicate that the temperature gradients in the target area of the deep drilling range from 19 to 26℃/km, which is lower than that (25-30℃/km) for the global continental area and similar to that for the KTB (21-28℃/km). Thermal conductivity measurements for 44 core samples show that the ultra-high pressure (UHP) metamorphic rocks have 50% higher thermal conductivity (with a mean of 3.94±1.26 W/mK) than that for the average value of the upper crust. The measured heat flow values vary between 76 and 80 mW/m2, higher than that for the global continental area (65±1.6 mW/m2) and the continental China (61±15.5mW/m2) as well as the adjacent North Jiangsu Basin (68 mW/m2), butlower than that below 1000 m in the KTB (85 mW/m2). The elevated heat flow in the pilot-boreholes can be attributed to the lateral heat concentration due to higher rock thermal conductivity of the VHP belt than that of the adjacent | WANG Jiyang HU Shengbiao YANG Wencai CHEN Benhe CHEN Zhenyan LI Tiejun | 2001 | Chinese Science Bulletin2001,46,20: | 7

Paleogeothermal Reconstruction and Thermal Evolution Modeling of Source Rocks in the Puguang Gas Field, Northeastern Sichuan Basin显示文摘The thermal history and organic matter maturity evolution of the source rocks of boreholes in the Puguang gas field were reconstructed. An integrated approach based on vitrinite reflectance and apatite fission track data was used in the reconstruction. Accordingly, the geothermal conditions of gas accumulation were discussed in terms of the geological features of reservoirs in the northeastern Sichuan Basin. The strata reached their maximum burial depth in the Late Cretaceous era and were then uplifted and denuded continuously to the present day. The geothermal gradient and heat flow in the Late Cretaceous era were approximately 30.0 °C/km and 66 mW/m^2, respectively, which were both higher than those at present. The tectonothermal evolution from the Late Cretaceous era to the present is characterized by denudation and cooling processes with an erosion thickness of ~2.7 km. In addition to the Triassic era, the Jurassic era represents an important hydrocarbon generation period for both Silurian and Permian source rocks, and the organic matter maturity of these source rocks entered into a dry gas period after oil generation. The thermal conditions are advantageous to the accumulation of conventional and unconventional gas because the hydrocarbon generation process of the source rocks occurs after the formation of an effective reservoir cap. In particular, the high geothermal gradient and increasing temperature before the denudation in the Late Cretaceous era facilitated the generation of hydrocarbons, and the subsequent cooling process favored its storage. | Chuanqing Zhu Nansheng Qiu Huanyu Cao Song Rao Shengbiao Hu | 2016 | Journal of Earth Science2016,27,5: | 4
Catalog of Enhanced Geothermal Systems based on Heat Sources显示文摘It is common sense that a deeper well implies higher temperature in the exploration of deep geothermal resources, especially with hot dry rock(HDR) geothermal resources, which are generally exploited in terms of enhanced geothermal systems(EGS). However, temperature is always different even at the same depth in the upper crust due to different heat sources. This paper summarizes the heat sources and classifies them into two types and five sub-types: crustorigin(partial melting, non-magma-generated tectonic events and radiogenic heat production), and mantle-origin(magma and heat conducted from the mantle). A review of global EGS sites is presented related to the five sub-types of heat sources. According to our new catalog, 71% of EGS sites host mantle-origin heat sources. The temperature logging curves indicate that EGS sites which host mantle-origin magma heat sources have the highest temperature. Therefore, high heat flow(>100 m W/m^(2)) regions with mantle-origin magma heat sources should be highlighted for the future exploration of EGS. The principle to identify the heat source is elucidated by applying geophysical and geochemical methods including noble gas isotope geochemistry and lithospheric thermal structure analysis. This analytical work will be helpful for the future exploration and assessment of HDR geothermal resources. | KONG Yanlong PAN Sheng REN Yaqian ZHANG Weizun WANG Ke JIANG Guangzheng CHENG Yuanzhi SUN Wenjie ZHANG Chao HU Shengbiao HE Lijuan | 2021 | Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2021,95,6: | 3

Interaction of fluid dynamic factors in the migration and accumulation of natural gas显示文摘The migration of fluid petroleum gas, described as fluid potential, depends only on gravity, fluid pressure controlled by depression and capillary force during tectoni-cally stable period; but on tectonic stress during the tectoni-cally active period with severe compression. This method is applied in the Junggar Basin, showing that the migration of Jurassic gas during Cretaceous and Eocene and the migration of Permian gas from Jurassic till the present are determined by capillary force and fluid pressure (including overpressure) which is controlled by depression; the migration of Jurassic gas from Eocene till the present and the migration of Permian gas during Triassic are controlled by tectonic stress. | SONG Yan XIA Xinyu WANG Zhenliang WANG Yi HU Shengbiao | 2002 | Chinese Science Bulletin2002,47,14: | 2
Tectono-thermal evolution of the Liwan Sag, deepwater area in the Zhujiang River Mouth Basin, northern South China Sea显示文摘The Liwan Sag, with an area of 4 000 km^2, is one of the deepwater sags in the Zhujiang River(Pearl River) Mouth Basin, northern South China Sea. Inspired by the exploration success in oil and gas resources in the deepwater sags worldwide, we conducted the thermal modeling to investigate the tectono-thermal history of the Liwan Sag,which has been widely thought to be important to understand tectonic activities as well as hydrocarbon potential of a basin. Using the multi-stage finite stretching model, the tectonic subsidence history and the thermal history have been obtained for 12 artificial wells, which were constructed on basis of one seismic profile newly acquired in the study area. Two stages of rifting during the time periods of 49–33.9 Ma and 33.9–23 Ma can be recognized from the tectonic subsidence pattern, and there are two phases of heating processes corresponding to the rifting. The reconstructed average basal paleo-heat flow values at the end of the rifting events are ~70.5 and ~94.2 mW/m^2 respectively. Following the heating periods, the study area has undergone a persistent thermal attenuation phase since 23 Ma and the basal heat flow cooled down to ~71.8–82.5 mW/m^2 at present. | TANG Xiaoyin HUANG Shaopeng YANG Shuchun JIANG Guangzheng JI Mo HU Shengbiao | 2018 | Acta Oceanologica Sinica2018,37,2: | 2
