| 1 | Isolation,identification and characterization of an algicidal bacterium from Lake Taihu and preliminary studies on its algicidal compounds显示文摘In an effort to identify a bio-agent capable of controlling cyanobacterial blooms,we isolated a bacterial strain,A27,which exhibited strong algicidal activity against the dominant bloom-forming species of Microcystis aeruginosa in Lake Taihu.Based on 16S rRNA gene sequence analysis,this strain belongs to the genus Exiguobacterium.This is the first report of an algicidal bacterial strain belonging to the genus Exiguobacterium.Strain A27 exhibited algicidal activity against a broad range of cyanobacteria,but elicited little or no algicidal activity against the two green algal strains tested.The algicidal activity of strain A27 was shown to be dependent on the density of the bacteria and to have a threshold density of 1.5×10 6 CFU/mL.Our data also showed that the algicidal activity of strain A27 depended on different growth stages of Microcystis aeruginosa(exponential ≈ lag phase > early stationary) rather than that of the bacterium itself.Our results also suggested the algicidal activity of strain A27 occurred via the production of extracellular algicidal compounds.Investigation of the algicidal compounds revealed that there were at least two different algicidal compounds produced by strain A27.These results indicated that strain A27 has great potential for use in the control of outbreaks of cyanobacterial blooms in Lake Taihu. | Chuan Tian Xianglong Liu Jing Tan Shengqin Lin Daotang Li Hong Yang | 2012 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2012,24,10: | 13 |
| 2 | Thermal Evolution of Plutons and Uplift Process of the Yanshan Orogenic Belt显示文摘Thermochronological dating was used to study the thermal evolution of the Mesozoic plutons and uplift history of the Yanshan orogenic belt. The results show that the cooling history of the plutons is complicated, corresponding to the inhomogeneous uplift process of the Yanshan orogenic belt. The Panshan granite cooled fast during 226.48-204.95 Ma at a rate of 10.22℃/Ma after its emplacement at a depth of about 10 km, and its fast uplift occurred in about 96-35 Ma at an average rate of 0.115 mm/a. The Wulingshan pluton cooled fast during 132-127.23 Ma at a rate of 94.34℃/Ma, and its rapid uplift occurred in 86-45 Ma at an average rate of 0.186 mm/a. The Yunmengshan granite cooled fast during 143-120.99 Ma at a rate of 19.51℃/Ma, and its rapid uplift occurred in 106-103.95 Ma and 20-0.0 Ma at a rate of 1.06 mm/a and 0.15 mm/a respectively. The Sihetang granite-gneiss uplifted rapidly since 13 Ma at an average rate of 0.256 mm/a. | 3 | A real-size MRPC developed for CBM-TOF显示文摘An MRPC prototype for the future CBM-TOF inner area has been developed.The counter assembled with low resistive glass consists of 10×0.22 mm gas gaps and 2×8 readout pads.The size of each pad is 20 mm×20 mm with an interval of 2 mm between pads.The signals of the counter are collected by 4 eight-pin connectors.Preliminary tests performed with cosmic-rays showed an efficiency over 98%and a time resolution around 60 ps.The measured crosstalk,dark current and dark rate were at a very low levels.Results under uniform irradiation performed at JINR with high energy deuteron showed a time resolution of40–50 ps and over 98%efficiency at a low flux rate,meanwhile at a flux up to 70 kHz/cm2,93%efficiency and 77 ps time resolution still remained.These excellent performances call fully meet the demand of CBM-TOF inner wall. | ZHU WeiPing WANG Yi FENG ShengQin WANG JingBo HUANG XinJie SHI Li BABKIN V. | 13 | Influence of Bushenhuoxue on podocytes of focal segmental glomerulosclerosis mice显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To observe the effects and mechanisms of Bushenhuoxue on desmin and nephrin expression in mice podocytes, and to investigate its effects on wt1 expression in Wilms' tumor.METHODS: Adriamycin(ADR) was used to induce focal segmental glomerulous sclerosis(FSGS) in mice. Bushenhuoxue was used to treat FSGS for 6 weeks. We measured body mass and right renal mass, and determined serum albumin(ALB) levels,protein content in urine, and urinary protein and albumin creatinine ratio(UACR). Changes in renal tissue morphology were evaluated by microscopy.wt1 and nephrin expression in podocytes were detected using immunofluorescence. Expression levels of desmin, wt1 and nephrin m RNAs in renal tissue were determined using reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction assays.RESULTS: Protein levels in urine and UACR were significantly increased in FSGS model mice compared with Bushenhuoxue-treated and control mice.Body mass and ALB levels were decreased in FSGS mice compared with control and Bushenhuoxue-treated mice. Expression of the wt1 protein was observed in control mice. Compared with controls,wt1 expression levels were reduced in Bushenhuoxue-treated mice, and to a greater extent in FSGS mice. Nephrin protein expression was widespread in FSGS mice, and significantly reduced in control and Bushenhuoxue mice. Expression levels of wt1 and nephrin m RNAs in FSGS mice were lower compared with those in control and Bushenhuoxue-treated mice. | 18 | Optimizing band structure of CoP nanoparticles via rich-defect carbon shell toward bifunctional electrocatalysts for overall water splitting显示文摘Transition-metal phosphides(TMPs)with high catalytic activity are widely used in the design of electrodes for water splitting.However,a major challenge is how to achieve the trade-off between activity and stability of TMPs.Herein,a novel method for synthesizing CoP nanoparticles encapsu-lated in a rich-defect carbon shell(CoP/DCS)is developed through the self-assembly of modified polycyclic aromatic molecules.The graft and removal of high-activity C-N bonds of aromatic molecules render the controllable design of crystallite defects of carbon shell.The density functional theory calculation indicates that the carbon defects with unpaired electrons could effectively tailor the band structure of CoP.Benefiting from the improved activity and corrosion resistance,the CoP/DCS delivers outstanding difunctional hydrogen evolution reaction(88 mV)and oxygen evolution reaction(251 mV)performances at 10 mA cm^(−2)current density.Furthermore,the coupled water electrolyzer with CoP/DCS as both the cathode and anode presents ultralow cell voltages of 1.49 V to achieve 10 mA cm^(−2)with long-time stability.This strategy to improve TMPs electrocatalyst with rich-DCS and heterogeneous structure will inspire the design of other transition metal compound electrocatalysts for water splitting. | Juncheng Wu Zhe‐Fan Wang Taotao Guan Guoli Zhang Juan Zhang Jie Han Shengqin Guan Ning Wang Jianlong Wang Kaixi Li | 2023 | Carbon Energy2023,5,3: | 0 |
