Chromatographic fingerprinting and quantitative analysis for the quality evaluation of Xinkeshu tablet显示文摘A simple, sensitive and accurate method based on high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) with diode array detector (DAD) was developed and validated for systematic quality evaluation of one type of traditional Chinese medicine preparations named Xinkeshu (XKS) tablet. In this study, the chromatographic fingerprints of XKS tablet were developed first, 23 peaks were selected as the common peaks to evaluate the similarities among different batches of XKS samples, which were manufactured in a long time span of three years. Additionally, simultaneous quantification of six markers in XKS tablet, including Danshensu, Protocatechuic aldehyde, Puerarin, Daidzin, Salvianolic acid B and Daidzein, was performed. The validation results showed that the developed method was specific, accurate, precise and robust. The preliminary explanation on why a close similarity between fingerprints did not exactly mean similar contents of chemical components in samples was given. The contribution of each chromatographic peak to similarity was also evaluated. The developed method offers an efficient, reliable and practical approach for systematic quality evaluation of XKS tablet. | Pei Wang Lian Li Hailong Yang Shijuan Cheng Yingzi Zeng Lei Nie Hengchang Zang | 2012 | Journal of Pharmaceutical Analysis2012,2,6: | 5
Sedimentation of a Single Charged Elliptic Cylinder in a Newtonian Fluid by Lattice Boltzmann Method显示文摘We simulate the sedimentation of single charged and single uncharged elliptic cylinders in a Newtonian fluid byusing the lattice Boltzmann method. Due to the polarizing effects and non-axial symmetry shape, there are theCoulomb force and corresponding torque exerted on the charged elliptic cylinder during the sedimentation, whichsignificantly change the horizontal translation and rotation of the cylinder. When the dielectric constant of theliquid is smaller than that of the wall, the direction of the Coulomb force is opposite to that of the hydrodynamicforce. Therefore there appears to be a critical linear charge density qc at which the elliptic cylinder will fallvertically off the centreline. | ZHANGChao-Ying SHIJuan TANHui-Li LIUMu-Ren KONGLing-Jiang | 2004 | Chinese Physics Letters2004,21,6: | 4

Small RNAs in regulating temperature stress response in plants显示文摘Due to global climate change, temperature stress has become one of the primary causes of crop losses worldwide. Much progress has been made in unraveling the complex stress response mechanisms in plants, particularly in the identification of temperature stress responsive protein-coding genes. Recently discovered micro RNAs(mi RNAs) and endogenous small-interfering RNAs(si RNAs) have also been demonstrated as simportant players in plant temperature stress response.Using high-throughput sequencing, many small RNAs,especially mi RNAs, have been identified to be triggered by cold or heat. Subsequently, several studies have shown an important functional role for these small RNAs in cold or heat tolerance. These findings greatly broaden our understanding of endogenous small RNAs in plant stress response control. Here, we highlight new findings regarding the roles of mi RNAs and si RNAs in plant temperature stress response and acclimation. We also review the current understanding of the regulatory mechanisms of small RNAs in temperature stress response, and explore the outlook for the use of these small RNAs in molecular breeding for improvement of temperature stress tolerance in plants. | Qing Liu Shijuan Yan Tifeng Yang Shaohong Zhang Yue-Qin Chen Bin Liu | 2017 | Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2017,59,11: | 3
Influenza A virus-induced downregulation of miR-26a contributes to reduced IFNα/β production显示文摘Innate immunity provides immediate defense against viral infection. Influenza A virus(IAV) is able to get past the first line of defense. Elucidation of the molecular interaction between influenza factors and the newly recognized host players in the innate response might help in our understanding of the root causes of virulence and pathogenicity of IAV. In this study, we show that expression of miR-26 a leads to a significant inhibition of IAV replication. miR-26 a does not directly target IAV genome. Instead, miR-26 a activates the type I interferon(IFN) signaling pathway and promotes the production of IFN-stimulated genes, thus suppressing viral replication. Furthermore,ubiquitin-specific protease 3(USP3), a negative regulator of type I IFN pathway, is targeted by miR-26 a upon IAV challenge. However, miR-26 a is significantly downregulated during IAV infection. Thus, downregulation of miR-26 a is a new strategy evolved by IAV to counteract cellular antiviral responses. Our findings indicate that delivery of miR-26 a may be a potential strategy for anti-IAV therapies. | Shijuan Gao Jiandong Li Liping Song Jiaoxiang Wu Wenlin Huang | 2017 | Virologica Sinica2017,32,4: | 3
A reactive oxygen species burst causes haploid induction in maize显示文摘Haploid induction (HI) is an important tool in crop breeding. Phospholipase A1 (ZmPLA1)/NOT LIKE DAD (NLD)/MATRILINEAL (MTL) is a key gene controlling HI in maize;however, the underlying molecular mechanism remains unclear. In this study, to dissect why loss of ZmPLA1 function could mediate HI we performed a comprehensive multiple omics analysis of zmpla1 mutant anthers by integrating transcriptome, metabolome, quantitative proteome, and protein modification data. Functional classes of significantly enriched or differentially abundant molecular entities were found to be associated with the oxidative stress response, suggesting that a reactive oxygen species (ROS) burst plays a critical role in HI. In support of this, we further discovered that a simple chemical treatment of pollen with ROS reagents could lead to HI. Moreover, we identified ZmPOD65, which encodes a sperm-specific peroxidase, as a new gene controlling HI. Taken together, our study revealed a likely mechanism of HI, discovered a new gene controlling HI, and created a new method for HI in maize, indicating the importance of ROS balance in maintaining normal reproduction and providing a potential route to accelerate crop breeding. | Chenglin Jiang Ju Sun Rui Li Shijuan Yan Wei Chen Liang Guo Guochen Qin Pengcheng Wang Cheng Luo Wenjie Huang Qinghua Zhang Alisdair R.Fernie David Jackson Xiang Li Jianbing Yan | 2022 | Molecular Plant2022,15,6: | 2

Lattice Boltzmann Simulation of Sedimentation of a Single Elastic Dumbbell in aNewtonian Fluid显示文摘Based on the lattice Boltzmann method (LBM), the sedimentations of a single elastic dumbbell in a Newtonian fluid under different initial positions and orientations, and also that of the elastic dumbbells with different free lengths of the spring under the same initial conditions have been simulated. All of the numerical results show that the final orientations of the elastic dumbbells are in the same horizontal direction, and the final positions of their centroids are all on the centerline of the tube no matter what the initial positions and orientations of the elastic dumbbell or the free lengths of the spring are. When the elastic dumbbell finally falls down vertically, the two circular cylinders of the elastic dumbbell rotate around their own symmetry-axis respectively, and their angular velocities are equal but opposite to each other. For the sedimentations of the elastic dumbbells with different free lengths of the spring, the shorter of the free length is, the faster the final angular velocity and vertical velocity of the circular cylinder will be. | ZHANGChao-Ying TANHui-Li LIUMu-Ren KONGLing-Jiang SHIJuan | 2004 | Communications in Theoretical Physics2004,42,4X: | 1
Distributions of surface sediments surrounding the Antarctic Peninsula and its environmental significance显示文摘We analyzed grain size composition to provide information on the types and distributions as well as depositional varieties of marine surface sediments from the area surrounding the Antarctic Peninsula. The samples retrieved from the study area contain gravel, sand, silt and clay. As suggested by bathymetry and morphology, the study area is characterized by neritic, hemipelagic and pelagic deposits. The glacial-marine sediments can be divided into two types, residual paratill and compound paratill, which are primarily transported by glaciers and as ice-rafted debris. Ocean current effects on deposition are more obvious, and the deposit types are distributed consistently with terrain variations. | WANG Chunjuan CHEN Zhihua LI Chunshun DU Dewen YAN Shijuan ZHU Zhiwei | 2014 | Advances in Polar Science2014,25,3: | 1
