1Towards carbon neutrality:A study on China's long-term low-carbon transition pathways and strategies显示文摘As the world's biggest carbon dioxide(CO_(2))emitter and the largest developing country,China faces daunting challenges to peak its emissions before 2030 and achieve carbon neutrality within 40 years.This study fully considered the carbon-neutrality goal and the temperature rise constraints required by the Paris Agreement,by developing six long-term development scenarios,and conducting a quantitative evaluation on the carbon emissions pathways,energy transformation,technology,policy and investment demand for each scenario.This study combined both bottom-up and top-down methodologies,including simulations and analyses of energy consumption of end-use and power sectors(bottom-up),as well as scenario analysis,investment demand and technology evaluation at the macro level(top-down).This study demonstrates that achieving carbon neutrality before 2060 translates to significant efforts and overwhelming challenges for China.To comply with the target,a high rate of an average annual reduction of CO_(2) emissions by 9.3%from 2030 to 2050 is a necessity,which requires a huge investment demand.For example,in the 1.5℃ scenario,an investment in energy infrastructure alone equivalent to 2.6%of that year's GDP will be necessary.The technological pathway towards carbon neutrality will rely highly on both conventional emission reduction technologies and breakthrough technologies.China needs to balance a long-term development strategy of lower greenhouse gas emissions that meets both the Paris Agreement and the long-term goals for domestic economic and social development,with a phased implementation for both its five-year and long-term plans.Jiankun He Zheng Li Xiliang Zhang Hailin Wang Wenjuan Dong Ershun Du Shiyan Chang Xunmin Ou Siyue Guo Zhiyu Tian Alun Gu Fei Teng Bin Hu Xiu Yang Siyuan Chen Mingtao Yao Zhiyi Yuan Li Zhou Xiaofan Zhao Ying Li Danwei Zhang 2022Environmental Science and Ecotechnology2022,,1:2

9Construction and usage of terminology services for information retrieval显示文摘In information retrieval, thesauri have increasingly become vital as an aid to effective retrieval. In the networked environment, terminology services become an ideal way to employ thesauri in application systems. However, most of existing projects or systems focused mainly on the construction of terminology services and seldom gave attention to their usage. The overall purpose of this study is to investigate the construction of terminology services and their usage. Firstly, taking Chinese Thesaurus as a source vocabulary, a system was built with the use of REST architecture and Semantic Web technologies. After the construction of terminology services, this study used the above mentioned six terminology services to investigate the usage of terminology services in information retrieval systems based on the embedded client. Taking the get Synonym service as an example, the usefulness of terminology services was tested with an experiment of 30 user queries to the library OPAC system and Baidu Search Engine. OPAC’s experiment results showed that the average recall increases 26.7% while the average precision decreases 4.6%. Baidu’s experiment results showed that the P@5 precision increases 16%. Four usage modes were designed, including multiple choice for query expansion, single choice for query replacement, hybrid of query expansion and replacement, and automatic query expansion. To evaluate their usability, a user testing was carried out in the library OPAC system and Baidu Search Engine with 24 human subjects based on four usability criteria(effectiveness, efficiency, user satisfaction and learnability). 10Design and application of SOA-based terminologyregistries and terminology services显示文摘Terminology Registries(TRs),usually with Terminology Services(TS),are crucial platforms for coconstructing and sharing various knowledge organization systems.Developing TRs and TS is a key step for NKOS to evolve from theory to proactical applications.By reviewing domestic and foreign existing terminology registries and terminology services as well as related research projects,this paper points out that there is a great gap between China and other countries on the research and applications of terminology registries and terminology services.It then proposes a SOA-based design for building terminology registries with terminology services,which includes four layers:Task Service Layer,Utility Service Layer,Component Layer and Data Layer.The design aims to support controlled vocabularies in a RDF-based semantic format and also to make vocabulary data available as linked data.Furthermore,this paper describes the key techniques for the implementation of this system,and some representative use cases are also presented.In future,a prototype system will be implemented with terminology service clients,and the clients can be integrated in digital library systems or cataloguing systems to provide terminology support for information retrieval or cataloguing.OU Shiyan 2012Journal of Library Science in China2012,,1:0
