| 2 | The role of ribosomal proteins in the regulation of cell proliferation, tumorigenesis, and genomic integrity显示文摘Ribosomal proteins(RPs), the essential components of the ribosome, are a family of RNA-binding proteins, which play prime roles in ribosome biogenesis and protein translation. Recent studies revealed that RPs have additional extra-ribosomal functions, independent of protein biosynthesis, in regulation of diverse cellular processes. Here, we review recent advances in our understanding of how RPs regulate apoptosis, cell cycle arrest, cell proliferation, neoplastic transformation, cell migration and invasion, and tumorigenesis through both MDM2/p53-dependent and p53-independent mechanisms. We also discuss the roles of RPs in the maintenance of genome integrity via modulating DNA damage response and repair. We further discuss mutations or deletions at the somatic or germline levels of some RPs in human cancers as well as in patients of Diamond-Blackfan anemia and 5q- syndrome with high susceptibility to cancer development. Moreover, we discuss the potential clinical application, based upon abnormal levels of RPs, in biomarker development for early diagnosis and/or prognosis of certain human cancers. | 3 | Selection of leading industries for coal resource cities based on coupling coordination of industry's technological innovation显示文摘Taking the city of Qitaihe is as an example in order to provide practical methods for the selection of leading industries for coal resource cities, this paper establishes the specific operation scheme for selection of leading industries according to the actual situation of coal resource cities based on the theory of coupling coordination together with the coupling coordination for technological innovation. The results show that the degree for coupling coordination of the technological innovation for each alternative industry differentiates with the development of coal resource cities. For example, the average degree of food processing industry from agricultural produce is 0.9. | 11 | Enhanced Efficiency of Milk Utilization for Growth in Surviving Low-Birth-Weight Piglets显示文摘This study determined effects of birth weights (0.70 to 1.09, 1.10 to 1.49, 1.50 to 1.89, and≥1.90 kg) on the efficiency of milk utilization for growth in sow-reared piglets. One-hundred-sixty piglets from 18 multiparous sows (Landrace×Large White) were individually weighed immediately after birth (day 0) and at 7-day intervals for 35 days. Milk consumption of piglets was determined weekly using the weigh-suckle-weigh method. Deaths of piglets were recorded daily. Piglets with the lightest birth weight had the highest incidence of mortality. Birth weights between 0.70 and 1.89 kg were positively associated with average daily gains (ADG, g/day) during the suckling period (P<0.01). Compared with piglets having birth weights of 1.50 to 1.89 kg, birth weights≥1.90 kg did not confer any additional benefit on preweaning survival or ADG. Colostrum or milk consumption per kilogram of body weight among low-, normal-, and large-birth-weight piglets did not differ in the first week. At days 14 to 35, milk consumption of piglets (g/kg BW/day) increased (P<0.01) but the ratio of gain to milk consumption decreased (P<0.01) progressively, as their birth weights increased from 0.70 to ≥1.90 kg. Additionally, surviving low-birth-weight piglets had a higher relative growth rate (%/day) than normal-and large-birth-weight piglets. Based on these novel findings, it is imperative that great efforts be made to improve the survival of low-birth-weight piglets so as to increase the efficiency of nutrient utilization by both lactating sows and suckling piglets. | Reza Rezaei Darrell A. | 12 | Sortilin promotes macrophage cholesterol accumulation and aortic atherosclerosis through lysosomal degradation of ATP-binding cassette transporter A1 protein显示文摘Sortilin is closely associated with hyperlipidemia and the risk of atherosclerosis(AS).The role of sortilin and the underlying mechanism in peripheral macrophage are not fully understood.In this study,we investigated the effect of macrophage sortilin on ATP-binding cassette transporter A1(ABCA1)expression,ABCA1-mediated cholesterol efflux,and aortic AS.Macrophage sortilin expression was upregulated by oxidized low-density lipoproteins(ox-LDLs)in both concentration-and time-dependent manners.Its expression reached the peak level when cells were incubated with 50μg/ml ox-LDL for 24 h.Overexpression of sortilin in macrophage reduced cholesterol efflux,leading to an increase in intracellular total cholesterol,free cholesterol,and cholesterol ester.Sortilin was found to bind with ABCA1 protein and suppress macrophage ABCA1 expression,resulting in a decrease in cholesterol efflux from macrophages.The inhibitory effect of sortilin in cholesterol efflux was partially reversed by treatment with chloroquine,a lysosomal inhibitor.On the contrary,the ABCA1 protein level and ABCA1-mediated cholesterol efflux is increased by sortilin short hairpin RNA transfection.The fecal and biliary cholesterol 3H-sterol from cholesterol-laden mouse peritoneal macrophage was reduced by sortilin overexpression through lentivirus vector(LV)-sortilin in low-density lipoprotein receptor knockout mice,which was prevented by co-treatment with chloroquine.Treatment with LV-sortilin reduced plasma high-density lipoprotein and increased plasma ox-LDL levels.Accordingly,aortic lipid deposition and plaque area were exacerbated,and ABCA1 expression was reduced in mice in response to infection with LV-sortilin alone.These effects of LV-sortilin were partially reversed by chloroquine.Sortilin enhances lysosomal degradation of ABCA1 protein and suppresses ABCA1-mediated cholesterol efflux from macrophages,leading to foam cell formation and AS development. | Yuncheng Lv Jing Yang Anbo Gao Sha Sun Xilong Zheng Xi Chen Wei Wan Chaoke Tang Wei Xie Suyun Li Dongming Guo Tianhong Peng Guojun Zhao Liyuan Zhong | 2019 | Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2019,51,5: | 4 |

| 19 | Oxidation of KCNB1 K^+ channels in central nervous system and beyond显示文摘KCNB1, a voltage-gated potassium(K+) channel that conducts a major delayed rectifier current in the brain, pancreas and cardiovascular system is a key player in apoptotic programs associated with oxidative stress. As a result, this protein represents a bona fide drug target for limiting the toxic effects of oxygen radicals. Until recently the consensus view was that reactive oxygen species trigger a pro-apoptotic surge in KCNB1 current via phosphorylation and SNARE-dependent incorpora-tion of KCNB1 channels into the plasma membrane. However, new evidence shows that KCNB1 can be modified by oxidants and that oxidized KCNB1 channels can directly activate pro-apoptotic signaling pathways. Hence, a more articulated picture of the pro-apoptotic role of KCNB1 is emerging in which the protein induces cell's death through distinct molecular mechanisms and activation of multiple pathways. Therefore,vigorously developing the grape and cherry industries in Shandong Province and carrying out development and innovation are important parts of Shandong Province in responding to the strategy of national new and old kinetic energy conversion. However,currently the germplasm resources preserved in the fruit tree resources banks in China are only 45% of those in the US and 27. 2% of those in the EU. Moreover,the development of fruit trees resources banks in Shandong is relatively backward in China,and there is still no banks related with grape and cherry germplasm resources in Shandong. Therefore,importance can be attached to the agriculture,forestry,and animal husbandry to build germplasm resources banks for grape and cherry industries in Shandong Province. Building the national-level grape and cherry germplasm resources bank in Shandong Province can also promote the utilization of wild and farm germplasm resources in the future; advance the research on the genes related to disease resistance,stress resistance and quality of grapes and cherries; push forward the construction and development of cherry and grape mutants banks.
