1Enhanced allelopathy and competitive ability of invasive plant Solidago canadensis in its introduced range显示文摘Aims Why invasive plants are more competitive in their introduced range than native range is still an unanswered question in plant invasion ecology.Here,we used the model invasive plant Solidago canaden-sis to test a hypothesis that enhanced production of allelopathic compounds results in greater competitive ability of invasive plants in the invaded range rather than in the native range.We also exam-ined the degree to which the allelopathy contributes increased com-petitive ability of S.canadensis in the invaded range.Methods We compared allelochemical production by S.canadensis growing in its native area(the USA)and invaded area(China)and also by populations that were collected from the two countries and grown together in a'common garden'greenhouse experiment.We also tested the allelopathic effects of S.canadensis collected from either the USA or China on the germination of Kummerowia striata(a native plant in China).Finally,we conducted a common garden,greenhouse experiment in which K.striata was grown in monocul-ture or with S.canadensis from the USA or China to test the effects of allopathy on plant-plant competition with suitable controls such as adding activated carbon to the soil to absorb the allelochemicals and thereby eliminating any corresponding allopathic effects.Important findings Allelochemical contents(total phenolics,total flavones and total saponins)and allelopathic effects were greater in S.canadensis sampled from China than those from the USA as demonstrated in a field survey and a common garden experiment.Inhibition of K.stri-ata germination using S.canadensis extracts or previously grown in soil was greater using samples from China than from the USA.The competitive ability of S.canadensis against K.striata was also greater for plants originating from China than those from the USA.Allelopathy could explain about 46%of the difference.These find-ings demonstrated that S.canadensis has evolved to be more allelo-pathic and competitive in the introduced range and that allelopathy significantly contributes to increased competitiveness for this inva-sive species.Yongge Yuan Bing Wang Shanshan Zhang Jianjun Tang Cong Tu Shuijin Hu Jean W.H.Yong Xin Chen 2013Journal of Plant Ecology2013,6,3:15
2Catalytic synthesis of acetals and ketals with H3PW12O40/PAn显示文摘A new environmental friendly catalyst H3PW12O40/PAn was prepared and identified by means of FT-IR,XRD,and TG/DTA.The optimum conditions have been found;that is,the mass ratio of PAn to H3PW12O40 is 1:1.5,the volume of methanol is 20 mL,and the reflux reaction time is 3 h.The structural identity of Keggin units is preserved after the incorporation into polyaniline matrix.Catalytic activities of H3PW12O40/PAn in synthesizing 2-methyl-2-ethoxycarbonylmethyl-1,3-dioxolane,2,4-dimethyl-2-ethoxycarbonylmethyl-1,3-dioxolane,cyclohexanone ethylene ketal,cyclohexanone 1,2-propanediol ketal,butanone ethylene ketal,butanone 1,2-propanediol ketal,2-phenyl-1,3-dioxolane,4-methyl-2-phenyl-1,3-dioxolane,2-propyl-1,3-dioxolane,and 4-methyl-2-propyl-1,3-dioxolane were reported.It has been demon-strated that H3PW12O40/PAn is an excellent catalyst.Various factors concerned in these reactions were investigated.The optimum conditions are as follows:the molar ratio of aldehyde/ketone to glycol(r) is 1:1.5,the mass ratio of the catalyst used to the reactants is 0.6%,and the reaction time is 1.0 h.Under these conditions,the yield is as follows:2-methyl-2-ethoxycarbonylmethyl-1,3-dioxolane,69.0%;2,4-dimethyl-2-ethoxycarbonylmethyl-1,3-dioxolane,79.5%;cyclohexanone ethylene ketal,78.9%;cyclohexanone 1,2-propanediol ketal,85.3%;butanone ethylene ketal,56.9%;butanone 1,2-propanediol ketal,78.1%;2-phenyl-1,3-dioxolane,76.3%;4-methyl-2-phenyl-1,3-dioxolane,94.2%;2-propyl-1,3-dioxolane,70.7%;and 4-methyl-2-propyl-1,3-dioxolane,79.2%.YANG Shuijin ZHANG Yijun DU Xinxian Philippe G. 3Whole-Genome Resequencing of a Worldwide Collection of Rapeseed Accessions Reveals the Genetic Basis of Ecotype Divergence显示文摘Rapeseed (Brassica napus),an important oilseed crop,has adapted to diverse climate zones and latitudes by forming three main ecotype groups,namely winter,semiwinter,and spring types. However,genetic variations underlying the divergence of these ecotypes are largely unknown. Here,we report the global pattern of genetic polymorphisms in rapeseed determined by resequencing a worldwide collection of 991 germplasm accessions.A total of 5.56 and 5.53 million singlenucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs)as Well as 1.86 and 1.92 million InDels were identified by mapping reads to the reference genomes of 'Darmor-bzh'and 'Tapidor,'respectively.We generated a map of allelic drift paths that shows splits and mixtures of the main populations,and revealed an asymmetric evolution of the two subgenomes of B.napus by calculating the genetic diversity and linkage disequilibrium parameters.Selective-sweep analysis revealed genetic changes in genes orthologous to those regulating various aspects of plant development and response to stresses.A genome-wide association study identified SNPs in the promoter regions of FLOWERING LOCUS T and FLOWERING LOCUS C orthologs that corresponded to the different rapeseed ecotype groups. 4大气CO_2倍增对植物根内AMF群落的影响显示文摘采用环境控制生长室控制CO2浓度的方法,研究了CO2浓度(350—400μmol mol^-1和680—750μmol mol^-1对植物根内丛枝菌根真菌(arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi,AMF)群落的影响。12种宿主植物于CO2浓度不同的生长室栽培180d后收获取样,通过CTAB法提取共生菌根内丛枝菌根真菌的DNA,由特异引物U1/U2扩增编码核糖体28S大亚基的rDNA部分序列,并进行DGGE电泳分析。结果表明。12种植物根内的AMF存在特异的AMF类群(unique species group,US)和共有类群(common species group,CS),而且CO2浓度倍增使US减少而CS增加。与350μmol mol^-1 对照相比,700μmol mol^-1处理的玉米、刺苋、大豆、陆稻、无芒稗、黑麦草6种植物的AMF群落多样性下降,下降幅度分别达27.12%、16.84%、10.12%、8.62%、8.58%和2.67%;白车轴、牛筋草、早熟禾、鼠曲草、野燕麦、北美车前6种植物的AMF群落多样性上升,分别达76.26%、28.50%、17.60%、15.08%、1.46%和0.96%。CO2倍增处理后12种植物的AMF多样性平均指数略呈上升趋势。研究指出未来环境变化(如CO2增加)将影响AMF群落结构从而影响菌根共生体的形成。杨如意 唐建军 陈欣 陈静 蒋琦清 Shuijin HU 2006生态学报2006,26,1:9
5Inheritance of the delayed gland morphogenesis trait in Australian wild species of Gossypium显示文摘Five Australian wild cotton species with the delayed gland morphogenesis trait, as well as G. arboreum, G. davidsonii and four different gland genotypes of G. hirsutum, Gl2Gl2Gl3Gl3, Gl2Gl2gl3gl3, gl2gl2Gl3Gl3, and gl2gl2gl3gl3, were used in this experiment and 10 interspecific hybrids were obtained by the crossing among them. According to the gland expression on the seeds and plants of the interspecific hybrids, the inheritance of the delayed gland morphogenesis trait of Australian wild cotton species was opened out as follows: (i) the inheritance of the delayed gland morphogenesis trait was almost the same among the 5 Australian wild cotton species, and the gene or genes which controlled this trait may be located in the same loci. (ii) The glandless seed trait of the Australian wild cotton species was dominant over the glanded seed trait of G. arboreum, a genome A species, and the seeds of interspecific hybrid F1 between them were glandless. 6Eco-friendly one-pot synthesis of acetals and ketals by heterogeneously catalyzed liquid-solid phase reaction显示文摘Twelve classes of acetals and ketals were synthesized from aldehyde/ketone and glycol using TiSiW12O40/TiO2 as a novel eco-friendly catalyst. The physical characterizations were carried out by TG/DTA, FT-IR, XRD, and 1H NMR spec- tra. The results indicated that the catalyst showed excellent catalytic activity for the condensation reactions. The yield of 12 classes of acetals and ketals reached 56.3%-96.3% under the typical reaction conditions (the molar ratio of aldehyde/ketone and glycol was 1:1.5, the quantity of catalyst was 0.5% of feed stock, the reaction time was 1.0 h, and the reaction tempera- ture was 80-116°C). 7Feasibility study on the use of near-infrared spectroscopy for rapid and nondestructive determination of gossypol content in intact cottonseeds显示文摘Background:Gossypol found in cottonseeds is toxic to human beings and monogastric animals and is a primary parameter for the integrated utilization of cottonseed products.It is usually determined by the techniques relied on complex pretreatment procedures and the samples after determination cannot be used in the breeding program,so it is of great importance to predict the gossypol content in cottonseeds rapidly and nondestructively to substitute the traditional analytical method.Results:Gossypol content in cottonseeds was investigated by near-infrared spectroscopy(NIRS)and high-performance liquid chromatography(HPLC).Partial least squares regression,combined with spectral pretreatment methods including Savitzky-Golay smoothing,standard normal variate,multiplicative scatter correction,and first derivate were tested for optimizing the calibration models.NIRS technique was efficient in predicting gossypol content in intact cottonseeds,as revealed by the root-mean-square error of cross-validation(RMSECV),root-mean-square error of prediction(RMSEP),coefficient for determination of prediction(R_(p)^(2)),and residual predictive deviation(RPD)values for all models,being 0.05∼0.07,0.04∼0.06,0.82∼0.92,and 2.3∼3.4,respectively.The optimized model pretreated by Savitzky-Golay smoothing+standard normal variate+first derivate resulted in a good determination of gossypol content in intact cottonseeds.Conclusions:Near-infrared spectroscopy coupled with different spectral pretreatments and partial least squares(PLS)regression has exhibited the feasibility in predicting gossypol content in intact cottonseeds,rapidly and non destructively.It could be used as an alternative method to substitute for traditional one to determi ne the gossypol content in intact cottonseeds.LI Cheng SU Bangsong ZHAO Tianlun LI Cong CHEN Jinhong ZHU Shuijin 2021Journal of Cotton Research2021,4,2:4
