| 1 | Three-dimensional chiral microstructures fabricated by structured optical vortices in isotropic material显示文摘Optical vortices,a type of structured beam with helical phase wavefronts and‘doughnut’-shaped intensity distributions,have been used to fabricate chiral structures in metals and spiral patterns in anisotropic polarization-dependent azobenzene polymers.However,in isotropic polymers,the fabricated microstructures are typically confined to non-chiral cylindrical geometry due to the two-dimensional‘doughnut’-shaped intensity profile of the optical vortices.Here we develop a powerful strategy to realize chiral microstructures in isotropic material by coaxial interference of a vortex beam and a plane wave,which produces threedimensional(3D)spiral optical fields.These coaxial interference beams are generated by designing contrivable holograms consisting of an azimuthal phase and an equiphase loaded on a liquid-crystal spatial light modulator.In isotropic polymers,3D chiral microstructures are achieved under illumination using coaxial interference femtosecond laser beams with their chirality controlled by the topological charge.Our further investigation reveals that the spiral lobes and chirality are caused by interfering patterns and helical phase wavefronts,respectively.This technique is simple,stable and easy to perform,and it offers broad applications in optical tweezers,optical communications and fast metamaterial fabrication. | Jincheng Ni Chaowei Wang Chenchu Zhang Yanlei Hu Liang Yang Zhaoxin Lao Bing Xu Jiawen Li Dong Wu Jiaru Chu | 2017 | Light(Science & Applications)2017,6,1: | 28 |

| 4 | Effect of pitch angle on initial stage of a transport airplane ditching显示文摘Airworthiness regulations require that the transport airplane should be proved to ensure the survivability of the ditching for the passengers. The planned ditching of a transport airplane on the calm water is numerically simulated. The effect of pitch angle on the impact characteristics is especially investigated by a subscaled model. The Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes (RANS) equations of unsteady compressible flow are solved and the realizable j-e equations are employed to model the turbulence. The transformation of the air-water interface is tracked by volume of fluid (VOF) model. The motion of the rigid body is modeled by dynamic mesh method. The initial ditching stage of the transport airplane is analyzed in detail. The numerical results show that as the pitching angle increases, the maximal normal force decreases and the pitching motion becomes much gentler. The aft fuselage would be sucked down by the water and lead to pitching up, whereas the low horizontal tail prevents this trend. | 6 | First mass measurement of short-lived nuclides at HIRFL-CSR显示文摘Recent commissioning of the HIRFL-CSR has demonstrated its ability to perform direct mass measurement for short-lived nuclides. Projectile fragments produced by the 78Kr ions at 481.88 MeV/u were separated with the new radioactive beam line in Lanzhou (RIBLL2), and injected into and stored in the experimental storage ring (CSRe). By operating the CSRe as an isochronous mass spectrometry, a typical mass resolution around 2.0×10?5 has been achieved. The masses for 63Ge, 65As and 67Se were measured for the first time. The measured masses are compared with theoretical predictions and the location of the proton drip-line for As isotopes is discussed. | 7 | Climatic significance of the stable carbon isotope composition of tree-ring cellulose:Comparison of Chinese hemlock (Tsuga chinensis Pritz) and alpine pine (Pinus densata Mast) in a temperate-moist region of China显示文摘In the reconstruction of past climate using stable carbon isotope composition (δ13C) in tree ring,the responses of the stable carbon composition (δ13C) of multiple tree species to environmental factors must be known detailedly. This study presented two δ13C series in annual tree rings for Chinese hem-lock (Tsuga chinensis Pritz) and alpine pine (Pinus densata Mast),and investigated the relationships between climatic parameters and stable carbon discrimination (△13C) series,and evaluated the poten-tial of climatic reconstruction using △13C in both species,in a temperate-moist region of Chuanxi Pla-teau,China. The raw δ13C series of the two species was inconsistent,which may be a result of different responses caused by tree's inherent physiological differences. After removing the low-frequency ef-fects of CO2 concentration,the high-frequency (year-to-year) inter-series correlation of △13C was strong,indicating that △13C of the two tree species were controlled by common environmental conditions. The △13C series of the species were most significantly correlated with temperature and moisture stress,but in different periods and intensity between the species. During the physiological year,the impacts of temperature and moisture stress on △13C occur earlier for Chinese hemlock (previous December to February for moisture stress and February to April for temperature,respectively) than for alpine pine (March to May for moisture stress and April to July for temperature,respectively). In addition,in temperate-moist regions,the control on △13C of single climatic parameter was not strongly dominant and the op-timal multiple regressions functions just explained the 38.5% variance of the total. | 10 | A Memetic Algorithm With Competition for the Capacitated Green Vehicle Routing Problem显示文摘In this paper, a memetic algorithm with competition(MAC) is proposed to solve the capacitated green vehicle routing problem(CGVRP). Firstly, the permutation array called traveling salesman problem(TSP) route is used to encode the solution, and an effective decoding method to construct the CGVRP route is presented accordingly. Secondly, the k-nearest neighbor(k NN) based initialization is presented to take use of the location information of the customers. Thirdly, according to the characteristics of the CGVRP, the search operators in the variable neighborhood search(VNS) framework and the simulated annealing(SA) strategy are executed on the TSP route for all solutions. Moreover, the customer adjustment operator and the alternative fuel station(AFS) adjustment operator on the CGVRP route are executed for the elite solutions after competition. In addition, the crossover operator is employed to share information among different solutions. The effect of parameter setting is investigated using the Taguchi method of design-ofexperiment to suggest suitable values. Via numerical tests, it demonstrates the effectiveness of both the competitive search and the decoding method. | 11 | BAALC-AS1/G3BP2/c-Myc feedback loop promotes cell proliferation in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma显示文摘Background:Long non-codingRNAs(lncRNAs)have been found to be involved in the development of many cancers.In this study,we aimed to identify the molecular mechanisms of lncRNA BAALC antisense RNA 1(BAALC-AS1)in regulating the malignancy of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma(ESCC).Methods:The expression of BAALC-AS1 in cancer patients was analyzed using a tissue microarray.The protein and RNA levels of BAALC-AS1 were determined by Western blotting analysis and quantitative reverse transcription-PCR(RT-qPCR),respectively.The cell proliferation was determined by cell viability assays,bromodeoxyuridine incorporation,and flow cytometry.The relationships among BAALC-AS1,RasGAPSH3 domain-binding protein 2(G3BP2),and c-Myc were determined using RNA immunoprecipitation,RNA pull-down assays,and luciferase assays.Results:The expression of BAALC-AS1 was highly up-regulated and associated with malignant phenotypes in ESCC tissues and cell lines.In vivo and in vitro assays showed that BAALC-AS1 promoted ESCC cell proliferation,migration,and invasion.BAALC-AS1 directly interacted with G3BP2,and thereby inhibited the degradation of c-Myc RNA 3’-UTR by G3BP2,thus leading to the accumulation of c-Myc expression.Additionally,c-Myc acted as a transcription factor that can induce the expression of BAALC-AS1 by directly binding to its promoter region.Conclusions:BAALC-AS1/G3BP2/c-Myc feedback loop plays a critical role in the development of ESCC,which might provide a novel therapeutic target and facilitate the development of new therapeutic strategies for the treatment of ESCC. | Hongyue Zhang Yan Wang Weimin Zhang Qingnan Wu Jiawen Fan Qimin Zhan | 2021 | Cancer Communications2021,41,3: | 7 |
| 12 | Simultaneous quantification of ginsenoside Rg1 and its metabolites by HPLC–MS/MS:Rg1 excretion in rat bile, urine and feces显示文摘Ginsenoside Rg1(Rg1), the major effective component of ginseng, has been shown to have multiple bioactivities, but low oral bioavailability. The aim of this study was to develop a simple, sensitive and rapid high performance liquid chromatography–tandem mass spectrometry(LC–MS/MS) method, which could be used to validate and quantify the concentrations of Rg1 and its metabolites in Sprague-Dawley rat bile,urine, and feces after oral administration(25 mg/kg). Calibration curves offered satisfactory linearity(r40.995)within the determined ranges. Both intra-day and inter-day variances were less than 15%, and the accuracy was within 80–120%. The excretion recoveries of Rg1, ginsenoside Rh1(Rh1), and protopanaxatriol(Ppt) in bile,urine, and feces combined were all greater than 70%. The fecal excretion recoveries of Rg1, Rh1, and Ppt were40.11%, 22.19%, and 22.88%, respectively, whereas 6.88% of Rg1 and 0.09% of Rh1 were excreted in bile.Urinary excretion accounted for only 0.04% of Rg1. | 13 | Single-cell RNA sequencing profiling of the effects of aging on alveolar stem cells显示文摘The aging of alveolar stem cells has been linked to many chronic lung diseases, including pulmonary fibrosis. However, the effects of aging on alveolar stem cells during homeostasis and post-injury alveolar repair have not been well characterized. Here we conducted a single-cell RNA sequencing(scRNA-seq) analysis of alveolar stem cells of 3-month-old and 12-month-old mice to characterize the aging effect on alveolar stem cells. Our results have shown that the transcriptomes of alveolar stem cells of 3-month-old and 12-month-old mice are not significantly different under the steady condition. However, after a bleomycin-induced lung injury, the alveolar stem cells of 12-month-old mice show enhanced inflammatory responses and decreased lipid metabolism. The influence of depositing and post-annealing temperatures on microstructure of V2O5 films was studied by XRD and Raman scattering measurements. The results reveal that sputtered V2O5 films show preferred growth orientation along (001) planes and the c-axis is perpendicular to the silicon substrate surface. It is interesting to find that both the V2O5 film deposited at temperature of 511 ℃ and the one annealed at 500 ℃ exhibit desirable layer-type structure of orthorhombic symmetry. | 15 | The genome of Medicago polymorpha provides insights into its edibility and nutritional value as a vegetable and forage legume显示文摘Medicago polymorpha is a nutritious and palatable forage and vegetable plant that also fixes nitrogen.Here,we reveal the chromosome-scale genome sequence of M.polymorpha using an integrated approach including Illumina,PacBio and Hi-C technologies.We combined PacBio full-length RNA-seq,metabolomic analysis,structural anatomy analysis and related physiological indexes to elucidate the important agronomic traits of M.polymorpha for forage and vegetable usage.The assembled M.polymorpha genome consisted of 457.53Mb with a long scaffold N50 of 57.72Mb,and 92.92%(441.83Mb)of the assembly was assigned to seven pseudochromosomes.Comparative genomic analysis revealed that expansion and contraction of the photosynthesis and lignin biosynthetic gene families,respectively,led to enhancement of nutritious compounds and reduced lignin biosynthesis in M.polymorpha.In addition,we found that several positively selected nitrogen metabolism-related genes were responsible for crude protein biosynthesis.Notably,the metabolomic results revealed that a large number of flavonoids,vitamins,alkaloids,and terpenoids were enriched in M.polymorpha.These results imply that the decreased lignin content but relatively high nutrient content of M.polymorpha enhance its edibility and nutritional value as a forage and vegetable.Our genomic data provide a genetic basis that will accelerate functional genomic and breeding research on M.polymorpha as well as other Medicago and legume plants. | Jiawen Cui Zhaogeng Lu Tianyi Wang Gang Chen Salma Mostafa Hailong Ren Sian Liu Chunxiang Fu Li Wang Yingfang Zhu Jinkai Lu Xiang Chen Zhenwu Wei Biao Jin | 2021 | Horticulture Research2021,8,1: | 6 |
| 16 | Energy-Efficient Mapping for 3D NoC Using Logistic Function Based Adaptive Genetic Algorithms显示文摘The problem of mapping application tasks is one of key issues in 3D Network on chip(3D NoC) design. A novel Logistic function based adaptive genetic algorithm(LFAGA) is proposed for energy-aware mapping of homogeneous 3D NoC. We formulate the mapping problem and show the Standard genetic algorithm(SGA). The LFAGA is presented in detail with the goal of obtaining higher convergence speed while preventing the premature convergence. Experimental results indicate that the proposed LFAGA is more efficient than previously proposed Chaos-genetic mapping algorithm(CGMAP). In the experiments, a randomly generated task graph of size 27 is mapped to a 3D NoC of size 3×3×3, the convergence speed of LFAGA is 2.55 times faster than CGMAP in the best condition. When the task size increases to 64 and the 3D NoC size extends to 4×4×4, LFAGA is 2.31 times faster compared to CGMAP. For the No C sizes in the range from 3×3×2 to 4×4×4, solutions obtained by the LFAGA are consistently better than the CGMAP. For example, in the experiment of size 4×4×4, the improvement of final result reaches 30.0% in term of energy consumption. | 19 | Chemical Characteristics and Environmental Records of a Snow-Pit at the Glacier No.12 in the Laohugou Valley, Qilian Mountains显示文摘In June 2006, samples were collected from a 90 cm snow-pit at an elevation of 5 040 m a.s.l. in the northern branch firn basin of the Glacier No. 12, Laohugou Valley, in the western part of Qilian Mountain, China. Oxygen isotopes(δ18O) and major soluble ions were measured. Results showed that Ca2+ is the dominant cation, and SO42- is the dominant anion. All major ions have close positive correlations with eachother except NO3- and NH4+. δ18O show positive correlation with air temperature. The method of correlation analysis, sea-salt ion tracer and trend analysis were used to determine the source of the chemical components. | 20 | Efficient full-path optical calculation of scalar and vector diffraction using the Bluestein method显示文摘Efficient calculation of the light diffraction in free space is of great significance for tracing electromagnetic field propagation and predicting the performance of optical systems such as microscopy,photolithography,and manipulation.However,existing calculation methods suffer from low computational efficiency and poor flexibility.Here,we present a fast and flexible calculation method for computing scalar and vector diffraction in the corresponding optical regimes using the Bluestein method.The computation time can be substantially reduced to the sub-second level,which is 105 faster than that achieved by the direct integration approach(~hours level)and 102 faster than that achieved by the fast Fourier transform method(~minutes level).The high efficiency facilitates the ultrafast evaluation of light propagation in diverse optical systems.Furthermore,the region of interest and the sampling numbers can be arbitrarily chosen,endowing the proposed method with superior flexibility.Based on these results,full-path calculation of a complex optical system is readily demonstrated and verified by experimental results,laying a foundation for real-time light field analysis for realistic optical implementation such as imaging,laser processing,and optical manipulation. | Yanlei Hu Zhongyu Wang Xuewen Wang Shengyun Ji Chenchu Zhang Jiawen Li Wulin Zhu Dong Wu Jiaru Chu | 2020 | Light(Science & Applications)2020,9,1: | 4 |
