1A rapid advice guideline for the diagnosis and treatment of 2019 novel coronavirus(2019-nCoV) infected pneumonia(standard version)显示文摘In December 2019, a new type viral pneumonia cases occurred in Wuhan, Hubei Province;and then named '2019 novel coronavirus(2019-nCoV)' by the World Health Organization(WHO) on 12 January 2020. For it is a never been experienced respiratory disease before and with infection ability widely and quickly, it attracted the world’s attention but without treatment and control manual. For the request from frontline clinicians and public health professionals of 2019-nCoV infected pneumonia management, an evidence-based guideline urgently needs to be developed. Therefore, we drafted this guideline according to the rapid advice guidelines methodology and general rules of WHO guideline development;we also added the first-hand management data of Zhongnan Hospital of Wuhan University. This guideline includes the guideline methodology, epidemiological characteristics, disease screening and population prevention, diagnosis, treatment and control(including traditional Chinese Medicine), nosocomial infection prevention and control, and disease nursing of the 2019-nCoV. Moreover, we also provide a whole process of a successful treatment case of the severe 2019-nCoV infected pneumonia and experience and lessons of hospital rescue for 2019-nCoV infections. 22018 Chinese Pediatric Cardiology Society(CPCS) guideline for diagnosis and treatment of syncope in children and adolescents显示文摘Syncope belongs to the transient loss of consciousness(TLOC), characterized by a rapid onset, short duration, and spontaneous complete recovery. It is common in children and adolescents, accounting for 1% to 2% of emergency department visits.Recurrent syncope can seriously affect children's physical and mental health, learning ability and quality of life and sometimes cardiac syncope even poses a risk of sudden death. The present guideline for the diagnosis and treatment of syncope in children and adolescents was developed for guiding a better clinical management of pediatric syncope. Based on the globally recent development and the evidence-based data in China, 2018 Chinese Pediatric Cardiology Society(CPCS) guideline for diagnosis and treatment of syncope in children and adolescents was jointly prepared by the Pediatric Cardiology Society, Chinese Pediatric Society, Chinese Medical Association(CMA)/Committee on Pediatric Syncope, Pediatricians Branch, Chinese Medical Doctor Association(CMDA)/Committee on Pediatric Cardiology, Chinese College of Cardiovascular Physicians, Chinese Medical Doctor Association(CMDA)/Pediatric Cardiology Society, Beijing Pediatric Society, Beijing Medical Association(BMA). 3Progress of potato staple food research and industry development in China显示文摘Potato is the largest non-cereal food crop worldwide and ranked as the world's fourth most important food crop after rice, wheat, and maize. Potato is a vital food-security crop and substitute for cereal crop considering its high yield and great nutritive value. Therefore, by replacing wheat, rice or maize in traditional staple foods partly by potato, the nutritional value of traditional foods and the utilization of potato are expected to be improved. China is the largest potato producer worldwide in terms of either volume or area. However, majority of potatoes are consumed as fresh vegetables for cuisine, and the industrial processing rate is much lower than the global average. Thus, research and development for nutritional potato stable food suitable for the dietary habits of Chinese residents are of great significance. However, we still confronted plenty of constraints in the development of potato staple food. In order to develop potato staple food suitable for Chinese residents' dietary habit like noodles, Mantou(steamed bread), rice and rice noodles, also to industrialize production of potato staple foods, some transformations need to be realized. Independent innovation is the only choice to realize the potato staple food processing and industrial development strategy on the technical level. Thus a lot of researches have been done to promote the development of potato staple food in China. 5A Novel Hierarchical Porous 3D Structured Vanadium Nitride/Carbon Membranes for High-performance Supercapacitor Negative Electrodes显示文摘Transition-metal nitrides exhibit wide potential windows and good electrochemical performance, but usually experience imbalanced practical applications in the energy storage field due to aggregation, poor circulation stability, and complicated syntheses. In this study, a novel and simple multiphase polymeric strategy was developed to fabricate hybrid vanadium nitride/carbon(VN/C) membranes for supercapacitor negative electrodes, in which VN nanoparticles were uniformly distributed in the hierarchical porous carbon 3D networks. The supercapacitor negative electrode based on VN/C membranes exhibited a high specific capacitance of 392.0 F g^(-1) at 0.5 A g^(-1) and an excellent rate capability with capacitance retention of 50.5% at 30 A g^(-1). For the asymmetric device fabricated using Ni(OH)_2//VN/C membranes, a high energy density of 43.0 Wh kg^(-1) at a power density of800 W kg^(-1) was observed. Moreover, the device also showed good cycling stability of 82.9% at a current density of 1.0 A g^(-1) after 8000 cycles. 8Global significance of the carbon cycle in the karst dynamic system:evidence from geological and ecological processes显示文摘On the basis of proposing the existence of a karst carbon cycle and carbon sink at a watershed scale,this paper provides four pieces of evidence for;the integration of geology and ecology during the carbon cycle processes m the karst dynamic system,and estxmated the karst carbon sink effect using the methods of comparative monitoring of paired watersheds and the carbon stable isotope tracer technique.The results of the soil carbon cycle in Maocun,Guilin,showed that the soil carbon cycle in the karst area,the weathering and dissolution of carbonate rocks under the soil,resulted in a lower soil respiration of 25% in the karstoarea than in a non-karst area (sandstone and shale),and the carbon isotope results indicated that 13.46% of the heavy carbon of the hmestone is involved in the soil carbon cycle.The comparative monitoring results m paxred watersheds,suggesting that the HCO3 concentration m a karst spring is 10 times that of a rivulet in a non-karst area,while the concentration of inorganic carbon flux is 23.8 times.With both chemical stoichiometry and carbon stable isotopes,the proportion of carbon in karst springs derived from carbonate rocks was found to be 58.52% and 37.65% respectively.The comparison on carbon exchange and isotopes at the water-gas interface between the granite and carbonate rock basins in the Li River showed that the CO2 emission of the karst water is 10.92 times that of the allogenic water from the non-karst area,while the carbon isotope of HCO3^- in karst water is lighter by 8.62%.However,this does not mean that the karst water body has a larger carbon source effect.On the contrary,it means the karst water body has a greater karst carbon sink effect.When the karst subterranean stream in Zhaidi,Guilin,is exposed at the surface,carbon-rich karst water stimulated the growth of aquatic plants.The values of carbon stable isotopes in the same species of submerged plants gradually becomes heavier and heavier,and the 512 m flow process has a maximum range of 15.46%.The calculation results showed that 12.52% of inorganic carbon is converted into organic carbon.According to the data that has been published,the global karst carbon sink flux was estimated to be 0.53-0.58 PgC/a,equivalent to 31.18%-34.41% of the global forest carbon sink flux.In the meanwhile,the karst carbon sink flux in China was calculated to be 0.051 PgC/a,accounting for 68% of its forest carbon sink flux.Jian-hua Cao Xia Wu Fen Huang Bill Hu Chris Groves Hui Yang Chun-lai Zhang 2018China Geology2018,1,1:9
9Alleviation by abscisic acid of Al toxicity in rice bean is not associated with citrate efflux but depends on ABI5-mediated signal transduction pathways显示文摘Under conditions of aluminum(Al) toxicity,which severely inhibits root growth in acidic soils, plants rapidly alter their gene expression to optimize physiological fitness for survival. Abscisic acid(ABA) has been suggested as a mediator between Al stress and gene expression, but the underlying mechanisms remain largely unknown. Here,we investigated ABA-mediated Al-stress responses, using integrated physiological and molecular biology approaches.We demonstrate that Al stress caused ABA accumulation in the root apex of rice bean(Vigna umbellata [Thunb.] Ohwi &Ohashi), which positively regulated Al tolerance. However,this was not associated with known Al-tolerance mechanisms. Transcriptomic analysis revealed that nearly one-third of the responsive genes were shared between the Al-stress and ABA treatments. We further identified a transcription factor, ABI5, as being positively involved in Al tolerance. Arabidopsis abi5 mutants displayed increased sensitivity to Al, which was not related to the regulation of AtALMT1 and AtMATE expression. Functional categorization of ABI5-mediated genes revealed the importance of cell wall modification and osmoregulation in Al tolerance, a finding supported by osmotic stress treatment on Al tolerance. 11Cystathionine-γ-lyase ameliorates the histone demethylase JMJD3-mediated autoimmune response in rheumatoid arthritis显示文摘Cystathionine-γ-lyase(CSE),an enzyme associated with hydrogen sulfide(H2S)production,is an important endogenous regulator of inflammation.Jumonji domain-containing protein 3(JMJD3)is implicated in the immune response and inflammation.Here,we investigated the potential contribution of JMJD3 to endogenous CSE-mediated inflammation in rheumatoid arthritis(RA).Upregulated CSE and JMJD3 were identified in synovial fibroblasts(SFs)from RA patients as well as in the joints of arthritic mice.Knocking down CSE augmented inflammation in IL-1β-induced SFs by increasing JMJD3 expression.In addition,CSE−/−mice with collagen-induced arthritis(CIA)developed severe joint inflammation and bone erosion.Conversely,overexpressing CSE inhibited JMJD3 expression by the transcription factor Sp-1 and was accompanied by reduced inflammation in IL-1β-treated SFs.Furthermore,JMJD3 silencing or the administration of the JMJD3 inhibitor GSK-J4 significantly decreased the inflammatory response in IL-1β-treated SFs,mainly by controlling the methylation status of H3K27me3 at the promoter of its target genes.GSK-J4 markedly attenuated the severity of arthritis in CIA mice.In conclusion,suppressing JMJD3 expression by the transcription factor Sp-1 is likely responsible for the ability of CSE to negatively modulate the inflammatory response and reduce the progression of RA.Weijun Wu Ming Qin Wanwan Jia Zheng Huang Zhongzheng Li Di Yang Mengwei Huang Chenxi Xiao Fen Long Jianchun Mao Philip K.Moore Xinhua Liu Yi Zhun Zhu 2019Cellular & Molecular Immunology2019,16,8:9
12Decreased Average Albumin-to-Globulin Ratio During Radiotherapy Worsens the Prognosis of Esophageal Squamous Cell Carcinoma:Implications for Nutritional Management显示文摘Objective Malnutrition and cachexia are common in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma(ESCC)patients undergoing radiotherapy.This study evaluated how malnutrition-and cachexia-related indicators,including the albumin-to-globulin ratio(AGR),and their changes during radiotherapy predict the treatment outcomes.Methods We reviewed a total of 172 ESCC patients receiving radiotherapy(as a primary cohort)and performed a Cox regression analysis on potential prognostic factors,including the AGR,as well as the TNM stage and concomitant chemotherapy.A subsequent receiver operating characteristics(ROC)curve and Kaplan Meier survival analysis was performed for ESCC patients stratified by the average AGR cut-off point.Results In addition to the well-documented factors(i.e.TNM stage and concomitant chemotherapy),the average AGR was a significant prognostic factor for ESCC patients receiving radiotherapy.By plotting the ROC curve of the average AGR with regard to the ESCC prognosis,we obtained cut-off points for the overall patients(cut-off point:1.5,AUC:0.636),for patients with stageⅡ/Ⅲdisease(cut-off point:1.5,AUC:0.611),and for patients with stageⅣdisease(cut-off point:1.84,AUC:0.900).The ESCC patients with higher average AGR had a significantly more favorable OS compared with those with a lower average AGR.Notably,ESCC patients who had an increasingΔAGR during radiotherapy had a considerably more favorable OS compared with those with a decreasingΔAGR.All of these findings were reproducible in the validation cohort.Conclusion A lower average AGR is indicative of a poorer prognosis for ESCC patients following radiotherapy.Improving the nutritional status and preventing or ameliorating cachexia might contribute to improving the prognosis of ESCC patients.Fen Cai Xiu Lian Zhang Xiao Ling Wu Ting Ting Zhuang Lei Huang Yi Fei Tu Yuan Yuan Lu Min Xia Jiang Qing Ying Zhang Yan Lin Chang Chun Ma 2021Journal of Nutritional Oncology2021,6,2:8
13(x-Helical domain is essential for antimicrobial activity of high mobility group nucleosomal binding domain 2 (HMGN2)显示文摘Aim:To examine the antimicrobial spectrum and functional structure of highmobility group nucleosomal binding domain 2(HMGN2).Methods:OMIGA pro-tein structure software was used to analyze the two-dimensional structure ofHMGN2.Synthetic short peptides were generated for studying the relationshipbetween function and structure.Prokaryotic expression vectors were constructedfor the holo-HMGN2 and its helical domain.Their E coil-based products werealso prepared for antimicrobial testing.The antimicrobial assay included minimaleffective concentration,minimal inhibitory concentration,and minimal bacteri-cidal concentration.Results:OMIGA protein structure software analysis revealeda transmembrane or-helical structure(the putative antimicrobial domain)locatedfrom position 18 to 48 of the HMGN2 protein sequence.The antimicrobial assayshowed that the MIC of the recombinant holo-HMGN2 against E coli ML-35p(anampicillin-resistance strain),Pseudomonas aeruginosa ATCC 27853 and Candidaalbicans ATCC 10231 were 12.5,25,and 100 rag/L,respectively.Against the samemicroorganisms,the MIC of the synthetic HMGN2 α-helical domain were 12.5,25,and 100 mg/L,respectively,that is,the same as with the recombinant form ofHMGN2.In contrast,recombinant holo-HMGN2 was inactive against Staphylo-coccus aureus ATCC 25923.The synthetic N-terminal and C-terminal fragments ofHMGN2 had no antimicrobial activity against E coli ML-35p,P aeruginosa ATCC27853 or C albicans ATCC 10231.Conclusion:HMGN2 showed potent antimi-crobial activity against E coli ML-35p,P aeruginosa ATCC 27853 and,to someextent,against C albicans ATCC 10231,but was inactive against S aureus ATCC25923 in these assay systems.Its α-helical structure may be essential for theantimicrobial activity of HMGN2.Yun FEN Ning HUANG Qi WU Lang BAO Bo-yao WANG 2005Acta Pharmacologica Sinica2005,26,9:8
14Application of bone transgenic zebrafish in anti-osteoporosis chemical screening显示文摘Background: The zebrafish(Danio rerio) has recently been shown to be an ideal model to study bone disease including osteoporosis. The zebrafish osteoporosis model could be induced by glucocorticoid treatment with chemical staining for reflecting the level of bone mineralization. However, this methodology was unstable.Here, we developed a novel methodology to directly evaluate the bone mass and density.Methods: We generated and used the bone of transgenic zebrafish Tg(ola.sp7:nlsGFP) to evaluate the bone mass and density by measuring the areal extent and the integrated optical density(IOD) of enhanced green fluorescent protein(eGFP).This methodology was further compared with the traditional chemically stained method showing the bone mineralization. Furthermore, genes related to zebrafish osteoporosis were analyzed by quantitative reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction(qRT-PCR).Results: Our results of new methods were consistent with those from chemically stained fish, following glucocorticoid-induction or epimedium flavonoid(FE)-rescue treatments. q RT-PCR analyses on mRNA levels revealed that glucocorticoid induces osteoporosis by downregulating the expression of osteoblast-related factors osterix,osteocalcin, and osteopontin, and upregulating the expression of osteoclast-related factor tartrate-resistant acid phosphatase. 15Inhibition of Emodin on LPS-induced Nitric Oxide Generation by Suppressing PLC-γ Phosphorylation in Rat Peritoneal Macrophages显示文摘Objective To investigate the inhibitory mechanism of emodin on lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced nitric oxide (NO) generation in rat peritoneal macrophages. Methods NO production and iNOS expression were measured through nitrite assay and Western blotting assay, respectively. NF-κB activity and nuclei P65 expression were estimated by dual-luciferase and Western blotting assay, respectively. Intracellular free Ca2+ ([Ca2+]i) was detected using the ratiometric fluorescent calcium indicator dye, Fura-2, and a microspectrofluorometer. PLC-γ phosporylation was analyzed by Western blotting assay. Results First, emodin was found playing active roles in suppressing LPS-induced NF-κB activation in rat peritoneal macrophages. Second, emodin down-regulated transient [Ca2+]i and could increase in NF-κB upstream signal. Finally, emodin suppressed phosphorylation of PLC-γ by LPS stimulation in the upstream of [Ca2+]i. 17Association of Overlapped and Un-overlapped Comorbidities with COVID-19 Severity and Treatment Outcomes: A Retrospective Cohort Study from Nine Provinces in China显示文摘Objective Several COVID-19 patients have overlapping comorbidities. The independent role of each component contributing to the risk of COVID-19 is unknown, and how some non-cardiometabolic comorbidities affect the risk of COVID-19 remains unclear.Methods A retrospective follow-up design was adopted. A total of 1,160 laboratory-confirmed patients were enrolled from nine provinces in China. Data on comorbidities were obtained from the patients’ medical records. Multivariable logistic regression models were used to estimate the odds ratio(OR) and 95% confidence interval(95% CI) of the associations between comorbidities(cardiometabolic or non-cardiometabolic diseases), clinical severity, and treatment outcomes of COVID-19.Results Overall, 158(13.6%) patients were diagnosed with severe illness and 32(2.7%) had unfavorable outcomes. Hypertension(2.87, 1.30–6.32), type 2 diabetes(T2 DM)(3.57, 2.32–5.49),cardiovascular disease(CVD)(3.78, 1.81–7.89), fatty liver disease(7.53, 1.96–28.96), hyperlipidemia(2.15, 1.26–3.67), other lung diseases(6.00, 3.01–11.96), and electrolyte imbalance(10.40, 3.00–26.10)were independently linked to increased odds of being severely ill. T2 DM(6.07, 2.89–12.75), CVD(8.47,6.03–11.89), and electrolyte imbalance(19.44, 11.47–32.96) were also strong predictors of unfavorable outcomes. Women with comorbidities were more likely to have severe disease on admission(5.46,3.25–9.19), while men with comorbidities were more likely to have unfavorable treatment outcomes(6.58, 1.46–29.64) within two weeks.Conclusion Besides hypertension, diabetes, and CVD, fatty liver disease, hyperlipidemia, other lung diseases, and electrolyte imbalance were independent risk factors for COVID-19 severity and poor treatment outcome. 18Clinical observation of radical total gastrectomy without postoperative gastrointestinal decompression in elderly patients with gastric cancer显示文摘Purpose:To investigate the safety and feasibility of radical total gastrectomy without postoperative gastrointestinal decompression in elderly patients with gastric cancer.Methods:Elderly patients(65e80 years of age)hospitalized with gastric cancer from May 2009 to August 2012 were selected to receive radical total gastrectomy with(controls,n=39)or without(n=37)postoperative gastrointestinal decompression.Postoperative recovery conditions and associated complications were observed and compared.Results:In the group without decompression,the first passage of flatus post-operation was significantly earlier,and scores of nausea,pharyngitis,insomnia,and postoperative ambulation limitation were significantly reduced compared to controls(all p<0.01).However,there were no differences in the degree of abdominal distension,time to first anal defecation,or incidence of postoperative complications between the groups.Conclusion:Gastrointestinal decompression is not necessary after total gastrectomy in elderly gastric cancer patients,and may improve patient comfort and recovery.Jin-xiu Hu Lun-lan Li Fen Dai He-ying Wu 2015International Journal of Nursing Sciences2015,2,1:8

20Effects of deep vertical rotary tillage on the grain yield and resource use efficiency of winter wheat in the Huang-Huai-Hai Plain of China显示文摘Tillage represents an important practice that is used to dynamically regulate soil properties,and affects the grain production process and resource use efficiency of crops.The objectives of this 3-year field study carried out in the Huang-Huai-Hai(HHH) Plain of China were to compare the effects of a new deep vertical rotary tillage (DVRT) with the conventional shallow rotary tillage (CT) on soil properties,winter wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) grain yield and water and nitrogen use efficiency at different productivity levels,and to identify a comprehensive management that optimizes both grain yield and resource use efficiency in the HHH Plain.A split-plot design was adopted in field experiments in the winter wheat growing seasons of 2016–2017 (S1),2017–2018 (S2) and 2018–2019 (S3),with DVRT (conducted once in June 2016) and CT performed in the main plots.Subplots were treated with one of four targeted productivity level treatments (SH,the super high productivity level;HH,the high productivity and high efficiency productivity level;FP,the farmer productivity level;ISP,the inherent soil productivity level).The results showed that the soil bulk density was reduced and the soil water content at the anthesis stage was increased in all three years,which were due to the significant effects of DVRT.Compared with CT,grain yields,partial factor productivity of nitrogen (PFP_(N)),and water use efficiency (WUE) under DVRT were increased by 22.0,14.5 and 19.0%.Path analysis and direct correlation decomposition uncovered that grain yield variation of winter wheat was mostly contributed by the spike numbers per area under different tillage modes.General line model analysis revealed that tillage mode played a significant role on grain yield,PFP_(N) and WUE not only as a single factor,but also along with other factors(year and productivity level) in interaction manners.In addition,PFP_(N) and WUE were the highest in HH under DVRT in all three growth seasons.These results provided a theoretical basis and technical support for coordinating the high yield with high resource use efficiency of winter wheat in the resource-restricted region in the HHH Plain of China.WU Fen ZHAI Li-chao XU Ping ZHANG Zheng-bin Elamin Hafiz BAILLO Lemessa Negasa TOLOSA Roy Njoroge KIMOTHO JIA Xiu-ling GUO Hai-qian 2021Journal of Integrative Agriculture2021,20,2:7
