1Trace metals in atmospheric fine particles in one industrial urban city: Spatial variations, sources, and health implications显示文摘Trace metals in PM2.5were measured at one industrial site and one urban site during September, 2010 in Ji'nan, eastern China. Individual aerosol particles and PM2.5samples were collected concurrently at both sites. Mass concentrations of eleven trace metals(i.e., Al, Ti, Cr, Mn, Fe, Ni, Cu, Zn, Sr, Ba, and Pb) and one metalloid(i.e., As) were measured by inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectroscopy(ICP-AES). The result shows that mass concentrations of PM2.5(130 μg/m3) and trace metals(4.03 μg/m3) at the industrial site were 1.3 times and 1.7 times higher than those at the urban site, respectively, indicating that industrial activities nearby the city can emit trace metals into the surrounding atmosphere. Fe concentrations were the highest among all the measured trace metals at both sites, with concentrations of 1.04 μg/m3at the urban site and 2.41 μg/m3at the industrial site, respectively. In addition, Pb showed the highest enrichment factors at both sites, suggesting the emissions from anthropogenic activities existed around the city. Correlation coefcient analysis and principal component analysis revealed that Cu, Fe, Mn, Pb, and Zn were originated from vehicular trafc and industrial emissions at both sites; As, Cr, and part of Pb from coal-fired power plant; Ba and Ti from natural soil. Based on the transmission electron microscopy analysis, we found that most of the trace metals were internally mixed with secondary sulfate/organic particles. 3Topic enhanced deep structured semantic models for knowledge base question answering显示文摘Knowledge Base Question Answering(KBQA) is a hot research topic in natural language processing(NLP). The most challenging problem in KBQA is how to understand the semantic information of natural language questions and how to bridge the semantic gap between the natural language questions and the structured fact triples in knowledge base. This paper focuses on simple questions which can be answered by a single fact triple in knowledge base. We propose a topic enhanced deep structured semantic model for KBQA. The proposed method considers the task of KBQA as a matching problem between questions and the subjects and predicates in knowledge base. And the proposed model consists of two stages to match the subjects and predicates, respectively. In the first stage, we propose a Convolutional based Topic Entity Extraction Model(CTEEM) to extract topic entities mentioned in questions. With the extracted entities, we can retrieve the relevant candidate fact triples from knowledge base and obviously decrease the amount of noising candidates. In the second stage, we employ Deep Structured Semantic Models(DSSMs) to compute the semantic relevant score between questions and predicates in the candidates. And we combine the semantic level and the lexical level scores to rank the candidates. We evaluate the proposed method on KBQA dataset released by NLPCC-ICCPOL 2016. The experimental results show that our proposed method achieves the third place among the 21 submitted systems.Furthermore, we also extend the DSSM by using Bi LSTM and integrate a convolutional structure on the top of Bi LSTM layers. 5Research on the width of filling body in gob-side entry retaining with high-water materials显示文摘To determine the filling body's width along the gob-side remained roadway which is underneath the gob,the authors analyzed the interaction mechanism between the roof and the supporting body along the remained roadway, based on the elastic thin plate theory of the stope roof. The stress state and mechanical response of the filling body along the remained roadway were studied. Specifically, firstly, the supporting pressure of the coal pillar which is on one side of the gob-side remained roadway was deduced.Also, an equation that is used to calculate the width of the balance area in the stress limit state was acquired. Then, an equation that is used to calculate the roof cutting force on one side of the supporting body was obtained. By using FLAC3D, the authors investigated the displacement field and stress field response laws of rock masses around the roadway with different filling body's widths. The results show that with the filling body's width increasing, the supporting ability of the filling body increases.Meanwhile, the rock mass displacement around the roadway and the filling body deformation decrease.The better the filling body's supporting effect is, the higher the roof cutting force will be. When the filling body's width is larger than 3.0 m, its internal bearing ability becomes stable and the filling body's deformation became non-apparent. 6Temporal and spatial variations in hydrogeochemistry of cave percolation water and their implications for four caves in Guizhou, China显示文摘Soil water and cave drip water from four cave systems in Guizhou, Southwest China, were monitored and sampled monthly from April 2003 to May 2004 to understand spatio-temporal variations in hydro-geochemistry of cave percolation water. The results indicated that among the 5 drip water sites from the Liangfeng Cave (LFC), there were no significant differences among the hydro-geochemical parameters. In the Xiniu Cave (XNC), the drip rates were variable and responded quickly to precipitation events in the 3# (No. 3) drip site with variable water head; both bulk and variation in drip rates were smaller in the 2# with constant water head. However, in the Qixing Cave (QXC) and Jiangjun Cave (JJC), drip rates, concentrations of major ions and saturation index for calcite (SI C ) were smaller, and Mg/Ca ratios in Group I (1#, 2#, 6#, 7# and 8# in the QXC; 2# and 3# in the JJC) were larger than those in Group II (3#, 4#, 5# and 9# in the QXC; 1# and 4# in the JJC). These differences might be the result of different hydrogeological processes above the caves, which are divided into five categories based on hydro-geochemistry data. 7Effects of chemical modification on physicochemical properties and adsorption behavior of sludge-based activated carbon显示文摘This study aimed to explore the adsorption performance of sludge-based activated carbon(SBC)towards dissolved organic matters(DOMs)removal from sewage,and investigated the modification effect of different types of chemicals on the structure of synthesized SBC.Waste activated sludge(WAS)was used as a carbon source,and HCl,HNO 3,and Na OH were used as different types of chemicals to modify the SBC.With the aid of chemical activation,the modified SBC showed higher adsorption performances on DOMs removal with maximum adsorption of 29.05 mg/g and second-order constant(k)of 0.1367(L/mol/sec)due to the surface elution of ash and minerals by chemicals.The surface elemental composition of MSBC suggested that the content of C-C and C-O functional groups on the surface of modified sludge-based activated carbon(MSBC)played an important role on the adsorption capacities of MSBC towards DOMs removal in sewage.Additionally,the residual molecular weight of DOMs in sewage was investigated using a 3-dimension fluorescence excitationemission matrix(3 D-EEM)and high-performance size exclusion chromatography(HP-SEC).Results showed that the chemical modification significantly improved the adsorption capacity of MSBC on humic acids(HA)and aromatic proteins(APN),and both of Na OH-MSBC and HCl-MSBC were effective for a wide range of different AMW DOMs removal from sewage,while the HNO 3-MSBC exhibited poorly on AMW organics of 2,617 Da and 409 Da due to the reducing content of macropore.In brief,this study provides reference values for the impact of the chemicals of the activation stage before the SBCs application.Chunxu Wu Lanfeng Li Hao Zhou Jing Ai Hongtao Zhang Jialin Tao Dongsheng Wang Weijun Zhang 2021Journal of Environmental Sciences2021,33,2:7

10Three-dimensional fluorescence spectral characteristics of dissolved organic carbon in cave drip waters and their responses to environment changes: Four cave systems as an example in Guizhou Province, China显示文摘Understanding the responses of fluorescence spectral characteristics of cave drip waters to modern environment and climate changes is key to the reconstructions of environmental and climatic changes using fluorescence spectral characteristics of speleothems. The fluorescence spectral characteristics of dissolved organic carbon (DOC) in four active cave systems were analyzed with a three-dimensional (3D) fluorescence spectral analysis method. We found that the fluorescence types of DOC were mainly of fulvic-like and protein-like fluorescences, both in soil waters and cave drip waters. The intensity of fulvic-like fluorescence was positively correlated with the concentrations of DOC, suggesting that the DOC of cave drip waters was derived from the overlying soil layer of a cave system. Compared with the other cave systems, the variation range of the excitation and emission wavelengths for fulvic-like fluorescence of cave drip waters in Liangfeng cave system that had forest vegetation was smaller and the excitation wavelength was longer, while its fluorescence intensity varied significantly. By contrast, the excitation and emission wavelengths and fluorescence intensity for that in Jiangjun cave system that had a scrub and tussock vegetation showed the most significant variation, while its excitation wavelength was shorter. 11An option for green and sustainable future: Electrochemical conversion of ammonia into nitrogen显示文摘Green and sustainable options are needed to ease the current energy and environmental crisis, and alleviate the greenhouse effect and energy shortage. As an alternative carbon–neutral synthetic fuel, ammonia shows great potential due to its high energy density, non-toxic by-products, and mature related infrastructures. However, related practical applications have been severely hampered on ammoniaoxidation due to the high cost of catalysts and immature energy utilization systems. Here, we comprehensively summarized the efforts which have been made in recent years with the aim of providing a deep sight into the development and deficiencies in this territory and trying to establish a simple framework of basic knowledge for researchers. The exploration of mechanism is discussed first and then the relevant catalysts studied in recent years are summarized. 13A zinc finger protein, interacted with cyclophilin,affects root development via IAA pathway in rice显示文摘The plant hormone auxin plays a crucial role in lateral root development. To better understand the molecular mechanisms underlying lateral root formation,an auxin-responsive gene OsCYP2(Os02g0121300) was characterized from rice. Compared to the wild type,OsCYP2-RNAi(RNA interference) lines exhibited distinctive defects in lateral root development. Yeast two-hybrid and glutathione S-transferase pull-down results confirmed that OsCYP2 interacted with a C2HC-type zinc finger protein(OsZFP, Os01g0252900) which is located in the rice nucleus. T_2 OsZFP-RNAi lines had significantly fewer lateral roots than did wild-type plants, which suggests a role for OsCYP2 and OsZFP in regulating lateral root development.Quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction showed that the expression of certain Aux/IAA(auxin/indole-3-acetic acid) genes was altered in OsCYP2-and Os ZFP-RNAi lines in response to IAA. These findings imply that OsCYP2 and OsZFP participate in IAA signal pathways controlling lateral root development. 14Inheritance of resistance to Helicoverpa armigera of 3 kinds of transgenic Bt strains available in upland cotton in China显示文摘There are 3 kinds of transgenic Bt strains, Shanxi 94-24, Zhongxin 94, and R19, in upland cotton in China. Their transgenic Bt insect-resistance cultivars or hybrids have been developed and grown by farmers. Genetic studies indicate that the resistance of the 3 transgenic Bt cotton strains to Helicoverpa armigera is controlled by one pair of non-allelic dominant genes. Linkage relationship between the resistant genes of R19 and Shanxi 94-24 transgenic Bt strains shows that they may be inserted in the same chromosome. FT hybrids crossed among the 3 strains show that high levels of protection from feeding damage are the same as that of their parents. Therefore, there is no co-suppression phenomenon in many transgenic plants. 15Improving Airgun Signal Detection with Small-Aperture Seismic Array in Yunnan显示文摘Repeating airgun sources are eco-friendly sources for monitoring the changes in the physical properties of subsurface mediums,but their signals decay quickly and are buried in the noises soon after traveling short distances.Stacking waveforms from different airgun shots recorded by a single seismic station(shot stacking)is the most popular technique to detect weak signals from noisy backgrounds,and has been widely used to process the data of Fixed Airgun Signal Transmission Stations(FASTS)in China.However,shot stacking sacrifices the time resolution in monitoring to recover a qualified airgun signal by stacking many shots at distance stations,and also suffers from persistent local noises.In this paper,we carried out several small-aperture seismic array experiments around the Binchuan FAST Station(BCFASTS)in Yunnan Province,China,and applied the array technique to improve airgun signal detection.The results show that seismic array processing combining with shot stacking can suppress seismic noises more efficiently,and provide better signal-to-noise ratio(SNR)and coherent airgun signals with less airgun shots.This work suggests that the array technique is a feasible and promising tool in FAST to increase the time resolution and reduce noise interference on routine monitoring.WANG Weijun ZHOU Qingyun KOU Huadong LIU Guiping ZHU Hongbo YAN Kun 2019Earthquake Research in China2019,33,2:3
16A study of peroxyacetyl nitrate at a rural site in Beijing based on continuous observations from 2015 to 2019 and the WRFChem model显示文摘Peroxyacetyl nitrate(PA N)is one of the most important photochemical pollutants and has aroused much concern in China in recent decades.However,few studies described the long-term variations in PAN in China.In this study,we continuously monitored the PAN,03 and NOx concentrations at a regional background site near Beijing from August 2015 to February 2019.Based on the observed concentrations and climate data,w e analyzed the seasonal PAN variations.The results revealed that the monthly mean PAN concentration ranged from 0.33-2.41 ppb,with an average value of 0.94 ppb.The PAN concentration exhibited a distinct seasonal variation,with high values in spring and low values in winter.After analyzing the corresponding meteorological data,we found that stronger ultraviolet(UV)radiation,a relatively longer lifetime and a higher background PAN concentration contributed to the high PAN concentrations in spring.In addition,with the utilization of the WRF-Chem(Weather Research and Forecasting with Chemistry)model,the cause of the extremely high PAN concentration in spring 2018 wa s determined.The model results demonstrated that an anomalously low pressure and the southwesterly winds in northern China might be the main causes of the increased PAN concentration in Beijing and its surrounding area in spring 2018.Yulu Qiu Zhiqiang Ma Weili Lin Weijun Quan Weiwei Pu Yingruo Li Liyan Zhou Qingfeng Shi 2020Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering2020,14,4:3
17Stable Carbon Isotope Variations in Cave Percolation Waters and their Implications in Four Caves of Guizhou, China显示文摘Monitoring and sampling of main plants,soil CO2,soil water,bedrock,spring water,drip water and its corresponding speleothem were performed at four cave systems of Guizhou,Southwest China,from April 2003 to May 2004,in order to understand stable carbon isotope ratios variations of dissolved inorganic Carbon(DIC) in cave percolation waters(δ13CDIC) and their implications for paleoclimate.Stable carbon isotopic compositions and ions(Ca,Mg,Sr,SO4,Cl etc.) were measured for all samples.The results indicate that there are significant differences among the δ13CDIC values from inter-cave,even inter-drip of intra-cave in the four caves.The δ13CDIC values from the Liangfeng Cave(LFC) is lightest among the four caves,where vegetation type overlying the cave is primary forest dominated by tall trees with lighter average δ13C value(–29.9‰).And there are remarkable differences in δ13CDIC values of different drip waters in the Qixing Cave(QXC) and Jiangjun Cave(JJC),up to 6.9‰ and 7.8‰,respectively.Further analyses show that the δ13CDIC values in cave drip waters are not only controlled by vegetation biomass overlying the cave,but also hydro-geochemical processes.Therefore,accurate interpreting of δ13C recorded in speleothems cannot be guaranteed if these effects of the above mentioned factors are not taken into consideration.LUO Weijun WANG Shijie XIE Xingneng ZHOU Yunchao LI Tingyu 2013Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2013,87,5:3

19Effects of tillage managements and maize straw returning on soil microbiome using 16S rDNA sequencing显示文摘Agricultural practices could affect bacterial diversity and community structure by altering soil physical and chemical properties. Straw returning and tillage practices are widely used in agriculture, however, the effects of these agricultural practices on microbiomes are still unclear. In the present study, we compared the 18 bacterial communities of soil with different straw returning and tillage treatment combinations. The V3-V4 regions of the 16S ribosomal RNA were amplified and analyzed by high-throughput sequencing technology. The results showed that the bacterial communities were consistently dominated by Acidobacteria, Proteobacteria, Actinobacteria, and Chloroflexi. Short-term straw returning and tillage practices significantly altered the diversity, relative abundance and functions of the soil microbiome. Soil subjected to rotary tillage and straw returning (RTS) combination possessed the highest bacterial diversity and lowest ratio of G+/G- bacteria, indicating that RTS could be an efficient integrated management system to improve microbiome in the short term. Double verifications based on relative abundance and network analysis, revealed close relationships of Mycobacterium and Methylibium with RTS, indicating they could serve as biomarkers for RTS. 20Optimizing the electrolyte salt of aqueous zinc-ion batteries based on a high-performance calcium vanadate hydrate cathode material显示文摘It is urgent to develop high-performance cathode materials for the emerging aqueous zinc-ion batteries with a facile strategy and optimize the related components.Herein,a Ca0.23V2O5·0.95 H2O nanobelt cathode material with a rather large interlayer spacing of 13.0 A is prepared via a one-step hydrothermal approach.The battery with this cathode material and 3 M Zn(CF3SO3)2 electrolyte displays high specific capacity(355.2 mAh g^(-1) at 0.2 A g^(-1)),great rate capability(240.8 mAh g^(-1) at 5 A g^(-1)),and excellent cyclability(97.7% capacity retention over 2000 cycles).Such superior performances are ascribed to fast electrochemical kinetics,outstanding electrode/electrolyte interface stability,and nearly dendrite-free characteristic.Instead,when ZnSO4 or Zn(ClO4)2 is used to replace Zn(CF3SO3)2,the electrochemical performances become much inferior,due to the slow electrochemical kinetics,inhomogeneous Zn stripping/plating process,and the formation of large dendrites and byproducts.This work not only discloses a high-performance cathode material for aqueous zinc-ion batteries but also offers a reference for the choice of electrolyte salt.Weijun Zhou Minfeng Chen Anran Wang Aixiang Huang Jizhang Chen Xinwu Xu Ching-Ping Wong 2021Journal of Energy Chemistry2021,30,1:2
