3Performance Evaluation for SDN Deployment: an Approach Based on Stochastic Network Calculus显示文摘The Open Flow implementations(SDNs) have been deployed increasingly on varieties of networks in research institutions as well as commercial institutions. To develop an Open Flow implementation, it is required to understand the performance of the network. A few benchmark tools(e.g., Cbench and OFlops) can be used to measure the network performance, while these tools take considerable time to simulate traffic behaviors and generate the required results,therefore extending the development time. In this paper, we present an analytical model, which is based on stochastic network calculus theory, for evaluating the performance of switch to controller.The previous studies show that stochastic network calculus can provide realistic emulation of real network traffic behaviors. 4Reinforcement of Self-Healing Polyacrylic Acid Hydrogel with Acrylamide Modified Microcrystalline Cellulose显示文摘Self-healing hydrogel such as polyacrylic acid(PAA)hydrogel has attracted increasing attention based on its promising potential applications.However,it usually suffers from low strength especially as mechanical device.Herein,a commercial microcrystalline cellulose(MCC)was modified with acrylamide to graft polyacrylamide(PAM)chains on the particle surface.The acrylamide-modified MCC(AM-MCC)was then dispersed in monomer solution of acrylic acid to prepare composite hydrogel.The mechanical properties of the obtained composite hydrogels and the self-healed hydrogels were carefully measured by compressive and tensile tests,and by dynamic mechanical analysis.Our results demonstrate that introduction of a small amount of AM-MCC such as 3 wt%can not only reinforce the original hydrogel and the healed hydrogel markedly,but also improve self-healing efficiency obviously.The analyses indicate that in addition to the reversible multi-interactions such as hydrogen bonding and ionic interactions,the entanglements between the PAA chains of the hydrogel matrix and the PAM chains grafted on the MCC particles have also played an important role on the improvement in mechanical performances and the healing ability of the hydrogel.Moreover,the responsiveness to exterior ion has been tested to indicate potential application of the composite hydrogel as self-healable sensor.Changzhuang Bai Qiuhua Huang Xiaopeng Xiong 2020Chinese Journal of Chemistry2020,38,5:3
5Transcriptome and Metabolome Analyses of Sea Cucumbers Apostichopus japonicus in Southern China During the Summer Aestivation Period显示文摘Aestivation is a common strategy of sea cucumbers(Apostichopus japonicus)in response to high-temperature conditions.Previous studies have individually investigated the immune and physiological alterations at the aestivation stage.However,these studies have not evaluated the relationship between immunity and physiology.In this study,we explored the transcriptome and metabolome of A.japonicus during the aestivation stage to study the relationship.The transcriptome analysis of dormant(aestivation)and revived A.japonicus generated 2368 differentially expressed genes,including 927 downregulated genes and 1441 upregulated genes.Based on Gene Ontology and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes enrichment analyses,the downregulated genes in the dormant group were found to be involved in DNA replication,RNA metabolic process,and protein metabolism,which results in the inhibition of motility,skeletal development,neural activity,cell proliferation,and development of A.japonicus.In contrast,the upregulated genes were found to be associated with fatty acid metabolism,carbohydrate hydrolysis,and phagocytosis.In the metabolome analysis,the downregulated metabolites were found to be associated with fatty acid metabolism,starch and sucrose metabolism,and TCA cycle.This indicates that dormant sea cucumbers consume reserved carbohydrates and fatty acids to maintain low levels of energy supply.The protein-protein interaction network analysis further revealed that carbohydrate hydrolysis promoted phagocytosis activity in the dormant group.This study provides new insights into potential molecular mechanisms of sea cucumber survival in high-temperature conditions,which is critical in aquaculture of sea cucumbers.YANG Qiuhua ZHANG Xusheng LU Zhen HUANG Ruifang TRAN Ngoc Tuan WU Jianshao YANG Fuyuan GE Hui ZHONG Chenhui SUN Qian ZHOU Chen LIN Qi 2021Journal of Ocean University of China2021,20,1:2

9Component Importance and Interdependence Analysis for Transmission, Distribution and Communication Systems显示文摘For critical infrastructure restoration planning,the real-time scheduling and coordination of system restoration efforts,the key in decision-making is to prioritize those critical components that are out of service during the restoration.For this purpose,there is a need for component importance analysis.While it has been investigated extensively for individual systems,component importance considering interdependence among transmission,distribution and communication(T&D&C)systems has not been systematically analyzed and widely adopted.In this study,we propose a component importance assessment method in the context of interdependence between T&D&C networks.Analytic methods for multilayer networks and a set of metrics have been applied for assessing the component importance and interdependence between T&D&C networks based on their physical characteristics.The proposed methodology is further validated with integrated synthetic Illinois regional transmission,distribution,and communication(T&D&C)systems,the results reveal the unique characteristics of component/node importance,which may be strongly affected by the network topology and cross-domain node mapping.Tao Fu Dexin Wang Xiaoyuan Fan Qiuhua Huang 2022CSEE Journal of Power and Energy Systems2022,8,2:0
10Axial segregation characteristics and size-induced flow behavior of particles in a novel rotary drum with curved sidewalls显示文摘Particle mixing and segregation are common phenomena in rotary drums,which are challenging to be controlled and driven artificially in powder technology.In this work,the discrete element method(DEM)was applied to construct the novel rotary drum composed of different shaped curved sidewalls.By varying the operation parameters of particle and sidewall shapes as well as the length-to-diameter(L/D)ratio of drums,the axial mixing and segregation processes of binary size-induced particles were investigated.The results show that the axial flow velocity of the particle mixtures is noticeably weakened once the particle angularity increases,making the non-spherical particles to mix better in rotary drums compared to the spherical particles.Besides,in the short drums with size-induced spherical particles,the axial segregation characteristics are significantly enhanced by the convex sidewalls while suppressed by the concave sidewalls.However,for size-induced non-spherical particles,the axial segregation structure can be present in rotary drums with plane and concave sidewalls while not in drums with convex sidewalls.Moreover,the axial segregation band structure of spherical particles eventually increases proportionally with the increased drum L/D ratios.In contrast,the non-spherical particles cannot form obvious multi-proportional segregation bands.Qiuhua Miao Wenchang Zhu Yudong Cao Peng Huang Chaobin Hu Minping Jia 2024Particuology2024,87,4:0
11Morphology of impact fragmentation distribution of single spherical and ellipsoidal particles in drop weight experiments显示文摘Particle shape is an important factor affecting the fragmentation distribution of the ore particles.To investigate the influence of particle shape on the morphological fragmentation distribution characteristics,the crushable ore particles are defined as prolate,oblate ellipsoid and spherical particles,which have different aspect ratios(AR)and sphericity(S).Based on the drop weight experiment,the influence of the net drop height on the macroscopic mechanical behavior and crushing distribution characteristics of the single spherical and ellipsoidal particles is studied.The results show that different peak-shifting characteristics exist during particle fragmentation.The fragmentation distribution peak shifts left when the increased impact energy is eventually only enough to break medium-sized sub-particles.Conversely,it shifts right when impact energy is increased enough to break largest-sized sub-particles.Besides,regardless of whether the net drop height changes,the maximum continuous fragmentation degree presents'M'-shaped characteristic with the increased AR.Compared with the ellipsoid particles,the single spherical particle is more difficult to be broken by impact,with wider equivalent particle fragmentation distribution.With the increase of particle sphericity,the maximum continuous fragmentation degree of a single ellipsoid particle has an overall trend of initial increase and subsequent decrease.Especially when particle sphericity is 0.9Qiuhua Miao Peng Huang Wenchang Zhu 2024Particuology2024,86,3:0

13Intra-heterogeneity in transcription and chemoresistant property of leukemia-initiating cells in murine Setd2^(-/-) acutemyeloid leukemia显示文摘Background:Heterogeneity of leukemia-initiating cells(LICs)is a major obstacle in acute myeloid leukemia(AML)therapy.Accumulated evidence indicates that the coexistence of multiple types of LICs with different pathogenicity in the same individual is a common feature in AML.However,the functional heterogeneity including the drug response of coexistent LICs remains unclear.Therefore,this study aimed to clarify the intra-heterogeneity in LICs that can help predict leukemia behavior and develop more effective treatments.Methods:Spleen cells from the primary Setd2^(-/-)-AML mouse were transplanted into C57BL/6 recipient mice to generate a transplantable model.Flow cytometry was used to analyze the immunophenotype of the leukemic mice.Whole-genome sequencing was conducted to detect secondary hits responsible for leukemia transformation.A serial transplantation assay was used to determine the self-renewal potential of Setd2^(-/-)-AML cells.A limiting-dilution assay was performed to identify the LIC frequency in different subsets of leukemia cells.Bulk and single-cell RNA sequencing were performed to analyze the transcriptional heterogeneity of LICs.Small molecular inhibitor screening and in vivo drug treatment were employed to clarify the difference in drug response between the different subsets of LICs.Results:In this study,we observed an aged Setd2^(-/-)mouse developing AML with co-mutation of Nras^(G12S) and Braf^(K520E).Further investigation identified two types of LICs residing in the c-Kit^(+)B220^(+)Mac-1^(-)and c-Kit^(+)B220^(+)Mac-1^(+)subsets,respectively.In vivo transplantation assay disclosed the heterogeneity in differentiation between the coexistent LICs.Besides,an intrinsic doxorubicinresistant transcriptional signature was uncovered in c-Kit^(+)B220^(+)Mac-1^(+)cells.Indeed,doxorubicin plus cytarabine(DA),the standard chemotherapeutic regimen used in AML treatment,could specifically kill c-Kit^(+)B220^(+)Mac-1^(−)cells,but it hardly affected c-Kit^(+)B220^(+)Mac-1^(+)cells.Transcriptome analysis unveiled a higher activation of RAS downstream signaling pathways in c-Kit^(+)B220^(+)Mac-1^(+)cells than in c-Kit^(+)B220^(+)Mac-1^(-)cells.Combined treatmentwithDAand RAS pathway inhibitors killed both c-Kit^(+)B220^(+)Mac-1^(−)and c-Kit^(+)B220^(+)Mac-1^(+)cells and attenuated disease progression.Conclusions:This study identified two cell subsets enriched for LICs inmurine Setd2^(-/-)-AML and disclosed the transcriptional and functional heterogeneity of LICs,revealing that the coexistence of different types of LICs in thismodel brings about diverse drug response.Jiachun Song Longting Du Ping Liu Fuhui Wang Bo Zhang Yinyin Xie Jing Lu Yi Jin Yan Zhou Gang Lv Jianmin Zhang Saijuan Chen Zhu Chen Xiaojian Sun Yuanliang Zhang Qiuhua Huang 2021Cancer Communications2021,41,9:0
14A systematic survey of LU domain-containing proteins reveals a novel human gene,LY6A,which encodes the candidate ortholog of mouse Ly-6A/Sca-1 and is aberrantly expressed in pituitary tumors显示文摘The Ly-6 and uPAR(LU)domain-containing proteins represent a large family of cell-surface markers.In particular,mouse Ly-6A/Sca-1 is a widely used marker for various stem cells;however,its human ortholog is missing.In this study,based on a systematic survey and comparative genomic study of mouse and human LU domain-containing proteins,we identified a previously unannotated human gene encoding the candidate ortholog of mouse Ly-6A/Sca-1.This gene,hereby named LY6A,reversely overlaps with a lncRNA gene in the majority of exonic sequences.We found that LY6A is aberrantly expressed in pituitary tumors,but not in normal pituitary tissues,and may contribute to tumorigenesis.Similar to mouse Ly-6A/Sca-1,human LY6A is also upregulated by interferon,suggesting a conserved transcriptional regulatory mechanism between humans and mice.We cloned the full-length LY6A cDNA,whose encoded protein sequence,domain architecture,and exon‒intron structures are all well conserved with mouse Ly-6A/Sca-1.Ectopic expression of the LY6A protein in cells demonstrates that it acts the same as mouse Ly-6A/Sca-1 in their processing and glycosylphosphatidylinositol anchoring to the cell membrane.Collectively,these studies unveil a novel human gene encoding a candidate biomarker and provide an interesting model gene for studying gene regulatory and evolutionary mechanisms.Dan Liu Chunhui Xu Yanting Liu Wen Ouyang Shaojian Lin Aining Xu Yuanliang Zhang Yinyin Xie Qiuhua Huang Weili Zhao Zhu Chen Lan Wang Saijuan Chen Jinyan Huang Zhe Bao Wu Xiaojian Sun 2023Frontiers of Medicine2023,17,3:0

16Molecular movements of trehalose inside a single network enabling a rapidly-recoverable tough hydrogel显示文摘It remains a challenge to achieve rapidly recoverable hydrogels by molecular hydrogen-bonding interaction because of its slow inter-action kinetics.This work for the first time reports a trehalose(Tre)-based molecular movement mechanism inside a single network of polyacrylamide(PAM)that accelerates the kinetics of hydrogenbonding interaction,and thereby endows the hydrogel with high toughness and rapid shape and mechanical recoverability.The resultant PAM@Tre hydrogel is capable of full shape recovery after 10,000 loading/unloading cycles at a strain of 500%.Even after being stretched at a strain of 2500%,it can recover to its original shape within 10 seconds.Moreover,the molecular movement of trehalose also endows the PAM@Tre hydrogel with fracture energy and toughness as high as~9000 J m^(-2) and~1600 kJ m^(-3),respec-tively,leading to strong resistance to both static and dynamic piercing.The PAM@Tre hydrogel is thus believed to have enormous potentials in protection devices,bionic skin,soft actuator,and stretchable electronics.Xiaowen Huang Jimin Fu Huiyan Tan Yan Miu Mengda Xu Qiuhua Zhao Yujie Xie Shengtong Sun Haimin Yao Lidong Zhang 2022International Journal of Smart and Nano Materials2022,13,4:0
