Anisotropic coding metamaterials and their powerful manipulation of differently polarized terahertz waves显示文摘Metamaterials based on effective media can be used to produce a number of unusual physical properties(for example, negative refraction and invisibility cloaking)because they can be tailored with effective medium parameters that do not occur in nature.Recently, the use of coding metamaterials has been suggested for the control of electromagnetic waves through the design of coding sequences using digital elements‘0’and‘1,'which possess opposite phase responses. Here we propose the concept of an anisotropic coding metamaterial in which the coding behaviors in different directions are dependent on the polarization status of the electromagnetic waves. We experimentally demonstrate an ultrathin and flexible polarization-controlled anisotropic coding metasurface that functions in the terahertz regime using specially designed coding elements.By encoding the elements with elaborately designed coding sequences(both 1-bit and 2-bit sequences),the x-and y-polarized waves can be anomalously reflected or independently diffused in three dimensions. The simulated far-field scattering patterns and near-field distributions are presented to illustrate the dual-functional performance of the encoded metasurface, and the results are consistent with the measured results. We further demonstrate the ability of the anisotropic coding metasurfaces to generate a beam splitter and realize simultaneous anomalous reflections and polarization conversions, thus providing powerful control of differently polarized electromagnetic waves. The proposed method enables versatile beam behaviors under orthogonal polarizations using a single metasurface and has the potential for use in the development of interesting terahertz devices. | Shuo Liu Tie Jun Cui Quan Xu Di Bao Liangliang Du Xiang Wan Wen Xuan Tang Chunmei Ouyang Xiao Yang Zhou Hao Yuan Hui Feng Ma Wei Xiang Jiang Jiaguang Han Weili Zhang Qiang Cheng | 2016 | Light(Science & Applications)2016,5,1: | 36

Back-n white neutron source at CSNS and its applications显示文摘Back-streaming neutrons from the spallation target of the China Spallation Neutron Source(CSNS)that emit through the incoming proton channel were exploited to build a white neutron beam facility(the so-called Back-n white neutron source),which was completed in March 2018.The Back-n neutron beam is very intense,at approximately 29107 n/cm2/s at 55 m from the target, and has a nominal proton beam with a power of 100 kW in the CSNS-I phase and a kinetic energy of 1.6 GeV and a thick tungsten target in multiple slices with modest moderation from the cooling water through the slices. In addition, the excellent energy spectrum spanning from 0.5 eV to 200 MeV,and a good time resolution related tothe time-of-flight measurements make it a typical white neutron source for nuclear data measurements;its overall performance is among that of the best white neutron sources in the world.Equipped with advanced spectrometers, detectors, and application utilities, the Back-n facility can serve wide applications, with a focus on neutron-induced cross-sectional measurements. This article presents an overview of the neutron beam characteristics, the experimental setups, and the ongoing applications at Backn. | Jing-Yu Tang Qi An Jiang-Bo Bai Jie Bao Yu Bao Ping Cao Hao-Lei Chen Qi-Ping Chen Yong-Hao Chen Zhen Chen Zeng-Qi Cui Rui-Rui Fan Chang-Qing Feng Ke-Qing Gao Xiao-Long Gao Min-Hao Gu Chang-Cai Han Zi-Jie Han Guo-Zhu He Yong-Cheng He Yang Hong Yi-Wei Hu Han-Xiong Huang Xi-Ru Huang Hao-Yu Jiang Wei Jiang Zhi-Jie Jiang Han-Tao Jing Ling Kang Bo Li Chao Li Jia-Wen Li Qiang Li Xiao Li Yang Li Jie Liu Rong Liu Shu-Bin Liu Xing-Yan Liu Ze Long Guang-Yuan Luan Chang-Jun Ning Meng-Chen Niu Bin-Bin Qi Jie Ren Zhi-Zhou Ren Xi-Chao Ruan Zhao-Hui Song Kang Sun Zhi-Jia Sun Zhi-Xin Tan Xin-Yi Tang Bin-Bin Tian Li-Jiao Wang Peng-Cheng Wang Zhao-Hui Wang Zhong-Wei Wen Xiao-Guang Wu Xuan Wu Li-Kun Xie Xiao-Yun Yang Yi-Wei Yang Han Yi Li Yu Tao Yu Yong-Ji Yu Guo-Hui Zhang Lin-Hao Zhang Qi-Wei Zhang Xian-Peng Zhang Yu-Liang Zhang Zhi-Yong Zhang Lu-Ping Zhou Zhi-Hao Zhou Ke-Jun Zhu 无 | 2021 | Nuclear Science and Techniques2021,32,1: | 4

A novel spoof surface plasmon polariton structure to reach ultra-strong field confinements显示文摘Ultrathin corrugated metallic structures have been proved to support spoof surface plasmon polariton (SPP) modes on two-dimension (2D) planar microwave circuits. However,to provide stronger field confinement, larger width of strip is required to load deeper grooves, which is cumbersome in modern large-scale integrated circuits and chips. In this work,a new spoof SPP transmission line (TL) with zigzag grooves is proposed. This new structure can achieve stronger field confinement compared to conventional one with the same strip width. In other words, the proposed spoof SPP TL behaves equivalently to a conventional one with much larger size.Dispersion analysis theoretically indicates the negative correlation between the ability of field confinement and cutoff frequencies of spoof SPP TLs.Numerical simulations indicate that the cutoff frequency of the proposed TL is lower than the conventional one and can be easily modified with the fixed size.Furthermore, two samples of the new and conventional spoof SPP TLs are fabricated for experimental demonstration.Measured S-parameters and field distributions verify the ultra-strong ability of field confinement of the proposed spoof SPP TL.Hence, this novel spoof SPP structure with ultra-strong field confinement may find wide applications in microwave and terahertz engineering. | Pei Hang He Hao Chi Zhang Xinxin Gao Ling Yun Niu Wen Xuan Tang Jiayuan Lu Le Peng Zhang Tie Jun Cui | 2019 | Opto-Electronic Advances2019,2,6: | 2

Measurement of the neutron total cross section of carbon at the Back-n white neutron beam of CSNS显示文摘To verify the performance of the neutron total cross-sectional spectrometer, the neutron total cross section of carbon is initially measured in the energy range of 1 eV to 20 MeV using the time-of-flight method. The measurement is performed at the Back-n white neutron source with a 76-m time-of-flight path using the China Spallation Neutron Source. A multilayer fast fission chamber with 235U and 238U is employed as the neutron detector. The diameter and thickness of the natural graphite sample are 70 mm and 40 mm, respectively. Signal waveforms are collected using a data acquisition system. Off-line data processing was used to obtain the neutron time-of-flight spectra and transmissions. The uncertainty of the counting statistics is generally approximately 3% for each bin in the energy range of 1–20 MeV. It is determined that the results for the neutron total cross section of carbon obtained using ^235U cells are in good agreement with the results obtained using 238U cells within limits of statistical uncertainty. Moreover, the measured total cross sections show good agreement with the broadening evaluated data. | Xing-Yan Liu Yi-Wei Yang Rong Liu Jie Wen Zhong-Wei Wen Zi-Jie Han Zhi-Zhou Ren Qi An Huai-Yong Bai Jie Bao Ping Cao Qi-Ping Chen Yong-Hao Chen Pin-Jing Cheng Zeng-Qi Cui Rui-Rui Fan Chang-Qing Feng Min-Hao Gu Feng-Qin Guo Chang-Cai Han Guo-Zhu He Yong-Cheng He Yue-Feng He Han-Xiong Huang Wei-Ling Huang Xi-Ru Huang Xiao-Lu Ji Xu-Yang Ji Hao-Yu Jiang Wei Jiang Han-Tao Jing Ling Kang Ming-Tao Kang Bo Li Lun Li Qiang Li Xiao Li Yang Li Yang Li Shu-Bin Liu Guang-Yuan Luan Ying-Lin Ma Chang-Jun Ning Bin-Bin Qi Jie Ren Xi-Chao Ruan Zhao-Hui Song Hong Sun Xiao-Yang Sun Zhi-Jia Sun Zhi-Xin Tan Hong-Qing Tang Jing-Yu Tang Peng-Cheng Wang Qi Wang Tao-Feng Wang Yan-Feng Wang Zhao-Hui Wang Zheng Wang Qing-Biao Wu Xiao-Guang Wu Xuan Wu Li-Kun Xie Han Yi Li Yu Tao Yu Yong-Ji Yu Guo-Hui Zhang Jing Zhang Lin-Hao Zhang Li-Ying Zhang Qing-Min Zhang Qi-Wei Zhang Xian-Peng Zhang Yu-Liang Zhang Zhi-Yong Zhang Ying-Tan Zhao Liang Zhou Zu-Ying Zhou Dan-Yang Zhu Ke-Jun Zhu Peng Zhu | 2019 | Nuclear Science and Techniques2019,30,9: | 2

The C_(6)D_(6)detector system on the Back-n beam line of CSNS显示文摘Introduction The neutron capture cross sections are very important in the field of nuclear device design and basic physics research.Hydrogen-free liquid scintillator such as C_(6)D_(6)detectors are widely used in the neutron capture cross-sectional measurements for the low neutron sensitivity and fast time response. The Back-n white neutron source at China Spallation Neutron Source is the first spallation white neutron source in China, and it is suitable for neutron capture cross-sectional measurement.Materials and methods A C_(6)D_(6)detector system was built in the Back-n experimental station. The pulse height weighting technique was used to determine the system’s detection efficiency. The response to gamma rays of the C_(6)D_(6)detector was measured, and the energy resolution function was determined.Monte Carlo simulation with Geant4 code was carried out to get the weighting function of this C_(6)D_(6)detector system.Additionally, the systematic uncertainty of the weighting function was also determined. Conclusion According to the experimental and simulation results, this C_(6)D_(6)detector system can be used to measure neutron capture cross section. | Jie Ren Xichao Ruan Jie Bao Guangyuan Luan Wei Jiang Qi An Huaiyong Bai Ping Cao Qiping Chen Yonghao Chen Pinjing Cheng Zengqi Cui Ruirui Fan Changqing Feng Minhao Gu Fengqin Guo Changcai Han Zijie Han Guozhu He Yongcheng He Yuefeng He Hanxiong Huang Weiling Huang Xiru Huang Xiaolu Ji Xuyang Ji Haoyu Jiang Hantao Jing Ling Kang Mingtao Kang Bo Li Lun Li Qiang Li Xiao Li Yang Li Yang Li Rong Liu Shubin Liu Xingyan Liu Yinglin Ma Changjun Ning Binbin Qi Zhaohui Song Hong Sun Xiaoyang Sun Zhijia Sun Zhixin Tan Hongqing Tang Jingyu Tang Pengcheng Wang Qi Wang Taofeng Wang Yanfeng Wang Zhaohui Wang Zheng Wang Jie Wen Zhongwei Wen Qingbiao Wu Xiaoguang Wu Xuan Wu Likun Xie Yiwei Yang Han Yi Li Yu Tao Yu Yongji Yu Guohui Zhang Jing Zhang Linhao Zhang Liying Zhang Qingmin Zhang Qiwei Zhang Xianpeng Zhang Yuliang Zhang Zhiyong Zhang Yingtan Zhao Liang Zhou Zuying Zhou Danyang Zhu Kejun Zhu Peng Zhu | 2019 | Radiation Detection Technology and Methods2019,3,3: | 1
Measurement of the ^(232)Th(n,f)cross section in the 1-200 MeV range at the CSNS Back-n显示文摘The ^(232)Th(n,f)cross section is very important in basic nuclear physics and applications based on the Th/U fuel cycle.Using the time-of-flight method and a multi-cell fast-fission ionization chamber,a novel measurement of the^(232)Th(n,f)cross sec-tion relative to^(235)U in the 1–200 MeV range was performed at the China Spallation Neutron Source Back-n white neutron source(Back-n).The fission event-neutron energy spectra of^(232)Th and^(235)U fission cells were measured in the single-bunch mode.Corrected 232Th/235U fission cross-sectional ratios were obtained, and the measurement uncertainties were 2.5–3.7%for energies in the 2–20 MeV range and 3.6–6.2%for energies in the 20–200 MeV range.The^(232)Th(n,f)cross section was obtained by introducing the standard cross section of^(235)U(n,f).The results were compared with those of previous theoreti-cal calculations, measurements, and evaluations. The measured 232Th fission cross section agreed with the main evaluation results in terms of the experimental uncertainty, and 232Th fission resonances were observed in the 1–3 MeV range. The present results provide^(232)Th(n,f)cross-sectional data for the evaluation and design of Th/U cycle nuclear systems. | Zhi-Zhou Ren Yi-Wei Yang Yong-Hao Chen Rong Liu Bang-Jiao Ye Jie Wen Hai-Rui Guo Zi-Jie Han Qi-Ping Chen Zhong-Wei Wen Wei-Li Sun Han Yi Xing-Yan Liu Tao Ye Jiang-Bo Bai Qi An Jie Bao Yu Bao Ping Cao Hao-Lei Chen Zhen Chen Zeng-Qi Cui Rui-Rui Fan Chang-Qing Feng Ke-Qing Gao Xiao-Long Gao Min-Hao Gu Chang-Cai Han Guo-Zhu He Yong-Cheng He Yang Hong Yi-Wei Hu Han-Xiong Huang Xi-Ru Huang Hao-Yu Jiang Wei Jiang Zhi-Jie Jiang Han-Tao Jing Ling Kang Bo Li Chao Li Jia-Wen Li Qiang Li Xiao Li Yang Li Jie Liu Shu-Bin Liu Ze Long Guang-Yuan Luan Chang-Jun Ning Meng-Chen Niu Bin-Bin Qi Jie Ren Xi-Chao Ruan Zhao-Hui Song Kang Sun Zhi-Jia Sun Zhi-Xin Tan Jing-Yu Tang Xin-Yi Tang Bin-Bin Tian Li-Jiao Wang Peng-Cheng Wang Zhao-Hui Wang Xiao-Guang Wu Xuan Wu Li-Kun Xie Xiao-Yun Yang Li Yu Tao Yu Yong-Ji Yu Guo-Hui Zhang Lin-Hao Zhang Qi-Wei Zhang Xian-Peng Zhang Yu-Liang Zhang Zhi-Yong Zhang Lu-Ping Zhou Zhi-Hao Zhou Ke-Jun Zhu | 2023 | Nuclear Science and Techniques2023,34,8: | 1
Activating transcription factor 4 protects mice against sepsis-induced intestinal injury by regulating gut-resident macrophages differentiation显示文摘Background: Gut-resident macrophages (gMacs) supplemented by monocytes-to-gMacs differentiation play a critical role in maintaining intestinal homeostasis. Activating transcription factor 4 (ATF4) is involved in immune cell differentiation. We therefore set out to investigate the role of ATF4-regulated monocytes-to-gMacs differentiation in sepsis-induced intestinal injury. Methods: Sepsis was induced in C57BL/6 wild type (WT) mice andAtf4-knockdown (Atf4+/-) mice by cecal ligation and puncture or administration of lipopolysaccharide (LPS). Colon, peripheral blood mononuclear cells, sera, lung, liver, and mesenteric lymph nodes were collected for flow cytometry, hematoxylin and eosin staining, immunohistochemistry, quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay, respectively. Results: CD64, CD11b, Ly6C, major histocompatibility complex-II (MHC-II), CX3CR1, Ly6G, and SSC were identified as optimal primary markers for detecting the process of monocytes-to-gMacs differentiation in the colon of WT mice. Monocytes-to-gMacs differentiation was impaired in the colon during sepsis and was associated with decreased expression of ATF4 in P1 (Ly6Chi monocytes), the precursor cells of gMacs.Atf4 knockdown exacerbated the impairment of monocytes-to-gMacs differentiation in response to LPS, resulting in a significant reduction of gMacs in the colon. Furthermore, compared with WT mice,Atf4+/- mice exhibited higher pathology scores, increased expression of inflammatory factor genes (TNF-α, IL-1β), suppressed expression of CD31 and vascular endothelial-cadherin in the colon, and increased translocation of intestinal bacteria to lymph nodes and lungs following exposure to LPS. However, the aggravation of sepsis-induced intestinal injury resulting fromAtf4 knockdown was not caused by the enhanced inflammatory effect of Ly6Chi monocytes and gMacs. Conclusion: ATF4, as a novel regulator of monocytes-to-gMacs differentiation, plays a critical role in protecting mice against sepsis-induced intestinal injury, suggesting that ATF4 might be a potential therapeutic target for sepsis treatment. | Zhenliang Wen Xi Xiong Dechang Chen Lujing Shao Xiaomeng Tang Xuan Shen Sheng Zhang Sisi Huang Lidi Zhang Yizhu Chen Yucai Zhang Chunxia Wang Jiao Liu | 2022 | Chinese Medical Journal2022,135,21: | 1

Derived vascular endothelial cells induced by mucoepidermoid carcinoma cells:3-dimensional collagen matrix model显示文摘Mucoepidermoid carcinoma undergoes uniquely vigorous angiogenic and neovascularization processes, possibly due to proliferation of vascular endothelial cells(ECs) induced by mucoepidermoid carcinoma cells(MCCs) in their three-dimensional(3D) microenvironment. To date,no studies have dealt with tumor cells and vascular ECs from the same origin of mucoepidermoid carcinoma using the in vitro 3D microenvironment model. In this context, the current research aims to observe neovascularization with mucoepidermoid carcinoma microvascular ECs(MCMECs) conditioned by the microenvironment in the 3D collagen matrix model. We observed the growth of MCMECs purified by immunomagnetic beads and induced by MCCs,and characteristics of tubule-like structures(TLSs) formed by induced MCMECs or non-induced MCMECs.The assessment parameters involved the growth curve, the length, the outer and inner diameters, and the wall thickness of the TLSs,and the cell cycle. Results showed that MCCs induced formation of the TLSs in the 3D collagen matrix model.A statistically significant difference was noted regarding the count of TLSs between the control group and the induction group on the 4th day of culture(t=5.00,P=0.001).The outer and inner diameters(t1=5.549,P1=0.000;t2=10.663,P2=0.000) and lengths(t=18.035,P=0.000) of the TLSs in the induction group were statistically significant larger than those in the control group. The TLSs were formed at the earlier time in the induction group compared with the control group. It is concluded that MCCs promote growth and migration of MCMECs,and formation of the TLSs.The 3D collagen matrix model with MCMECs induced by MCCs in the current research may be a favorable choice for research on pro-angiogenic factors in progression of mucoepidermoid carcinoma. | Sen YANG Li-juan GUO Qing-hong GAO Ming XUAN Ke TAN Qiang ZHANG Yu-ming WEN Chang-mei WANG Xiu-fa TANG Xiao-yi WANG | 2010 | Journal of Zhejiang University-Science B(Biomedicine & Biotechnology)2010,11,10: | 0

Active odd-mode-metachannel for single-conductor systems显示文摘Although tremendous efforts have been devoted to investigating planar single-conductor circuits,it remains challenging to provide tight confinement of electromagnetic field and compatibility with active semi-conductor components such as amplifier, harmonic generator and mixers.Single-conductor spoof surface plasmon polariton(SSPP)structure, which is one of the most promising planar single-conductor transmission media due to the outstanding field confinement, still suf-fers from the difficulty in integrating with the active semi-conductor components. In this paper,a new kind of odd-mode-metachannel(OMM)that can support odd-mode SSPPs is proposed to perform as the fundamental transmission chan-nel of the single-conductor systems.By introducing zigzag decoration, the OMM can strengthen the field confinement and broaden the bandwidth of odd-mode SSPPs simultaneously.More importantly, the active semi-conductor amplifier chip integration is achieved by utilizing the intrinsic potential difference on OMM,which breaks the major obstacle in im-plementing the single-conductor systems. As an instance,an amplifier is successfully integrated on the single-conductor OMM,which can realize both loss compensation and signal amplification.Meanwhile, the merits of OMM including crosstalk suppression, low radar cross section(RCS),and flexibility are comprehensively demonstrated.Hence, the pro-posed OMM and its capability to integrate with the active semi-conductor components may provide a new avenue to fu-ture single-conductor conformal systems and smart skins. | Pei Hang He Ling Yun Niu Yi Fan Hao Chi Zhang Le Peng Zhang Dayue Yao Wen Xuan Tang Tie Jun Cui | 2022 | Opto-Electronic Advances2022,5,8: | 0
