| 1 | Endothelial CDS2 deficiency causes VEGFA-mediated vascular regression and tumor inhibition显示文摘The response of endothelial cells to signaling stimulation is critical for vascular morphogenesis,homeostasis and function.Vascular endothelial growth factor-a(VEGFA)has been commonly recognized as a pro-angiogenic factor in vertebrate developmental,physiological and pathological conditions for decades.Here we report a novel finding that genetic ablation of CDP-diacylglycerol synthetase-2(CDS2),a metabolic enzyme that controls phosphoinositide recycling,switches the output of VEGFA signaling from promoting angiogenesis to unexpectedly inducing vessel regression.Live imaging analysis uncovered the presence of reverse migration of the angiogenic endothelium in cds2 mutant zebrafish upon VEGFA stimulation,and endothelium regression also occurred in postnatal retina and implanted tumor models in mice.In tumor models,CDS2 deficiency enhanced the level of tumorsecreted VEGFA,which in-turn trapped tumors into a VEGFA-induced vessel regression situation,leading to suppression of tumor growth.Mechanistically,VEGFA stimulation reduced phosphatidylinositol(4,5)-bisphosphate(PIP2)availability in the absence of CDS2-controlled-phosphoinositide metabolism,subsequently causing phosphatidylinositol(3,4,5)-triphosphate(PIP3)deficiency and F0X01 activation to trigger regression of CDS2-null endothelium.Thus,our data indicate that the effect of VEGFA on vasculature is context-dependent and can be converted from angiogenesis to vascular regression. | Wencao Zhao Le Cao Hanru Ying Wenjuan Zhang Dantong Li Xiaolong Ziiu Wenzhi Xue Shuang Wu Mengye Cao Cong Fu Haonan Qi Yimei Hao Yun-Chi Tang Jun Qin Tao PZhong Xiaoxi Lin Luyang Yu Xuri Li Lin Li Dianqing Wu Weijun Pan | 2019 | Cell Research2019,29,11: | 9 |
| 2 | Bonding VSe2 ultrafine nanocrystals on graphene toward advanced lithium-sulfur batterie显示文摘Lithium–sulfur batteries have been attracting considerable research attention due to their high energy densities and low costs. However, one of their main challenges is the undesired shuttling of polysulfides, causing rapid capacity degradation. Herein, we report the first example of sulfiphilic VSe2 ultrafine nanocrystals immobilized on nitrogen-doped graphene to modify the battery separator for alleviating the shuttling problem. VSe2 nanocrystals provide numerous active sites for chemisorption of polysulfides as well as benefit the nucleation and growth of Li2S. Furthermore, the kinetic reactions are accelerated which is confirmed by higher exchange current density and higher lithium ion diffusion coefficient. And the first-principles calculations further show that the exposed sulfiphilic planes of VSe2 boost the redox of Li2S. When used as separators within the lithium sulfur batteries, the cell indicates greatly enhanced electrochemical performances with excellent long cycling stability and exceptional rate capability up to 8 C. Moreover, it delivers a higher areal capacity of 4.04 mAh·cm^−2 as well as superior cycling stability with sulfur areal loading up to 6.1 mg·cm^−2. | 4 | Control of coupling among three major factors for formation of high-efficiency gas reservoir——A case study on the oolitic beach gas reservoir in Feixianguan Formation in the northeast Sichuan Basin显示文摘Through a case study of the high-efficiency gas reservoir in Feixianguan Formation in the northeast Sichuan Basin, quantitative and semi-quantitative analyses of key elements such as hydrocarbon generation, migration and accumulation, and reservoir evolution as well as their interplay in the critical moment of reservoir formation controlled by the energy field were carried out, by means of numerical modeling of the energy field. It was found that the climax time for Permian hydrocarbon generation was Late Triassic-Early Jurassic and accumulation of oil and gas has resulted in large-scale paleoreservoirs in paleostructural traps in Feixianguan Formation, a process facilitated by fractures connecting the sources. The paleoreservoirs have been turned into high-efficiency gas kitchens due to pyrolysis, which resulted from deep burial at a temperature of 170―210 ℃ as induced by tremendously thick sedimentation in the foreland basin of Daba Mountain in Late Jurassic-Cretaceous period. Meanwhile, abundant acid gas like H2S produced from thermo-chemical sulfate reduction (TSR) at high temperatures leads to extensive dissolution of dolostone in the paleoreservoirs, which may in turn result in modification of the reservoirs and preservation of the reservoir rock porosity. | 5 | Influence of synthesis temperatures on the crystalline grain growth and morphology of lanthanum magnesium hexaaluminate显示文摘Lanthanum magnesium hexaaluminate(LaMgAl_(11)O_(19), LMA) was prepared at different temperatures by solid-state reaction. Phase compositions and crystal morphologies of specimens synthesized at different temperatures were investigated using X-ray diffraction(XRD), scanning electron microscopy(SEM). It was observed that the crystalline grain size of LMA was not only dependent on the preparation temperature but also on its powder morphology. In the temperature range of 1300 e1550℃, LMA showed platelet grain and the average crystalline grain size increases with the increase in temperature. At1600℃, if the powder was sintered for two times, the equiaxed grain could be found with the decrease in grain space, resulting in the reduction of the crystalline grain size. Styles of specimens(powder or disk) might have no obvious influence on morphologies and sizes of LMA crystalline grains which were synthesized with the well-dispersed raw material mixtures. | 8 | Growth of large-area atomically thin MoS2 film via ambient pressure chemical vapor deposition显示文摘Atomically thin MoS2 films have attracted significant attention due to excellent electrical and optical properties.The development of device applications demands the production of large-area thin film which is still an obstacle.In this work we developed a facile method to directly grow large-area MoS2 thin film on Si O2 substrate via ambient pressure chemical vapor deposition method. The characterizations by spectroscopy and electron microscopy reveal that the as-grown MoS2 film is mainly bilayer and trilayer with high quality. Back-gate field-effect transistor based on such MoS2 thin film shows carrier mobility up to 3.4 cm2V-1s-1 and on/off ratio of 105. | 16 | Synergistic effects of compound physical factor treatment on neurological outcome after peripheral nerve entrapment surgery A randomized controlled study显示文摘BACKGROUND: Iatrophysics can improve the velocity of local microcirculation at peripheral nerve injured sites and promote the recovery from injury. Research has shown that simultaneous application of two physical factors has synergistic effects on the recovery of peripheral nerve function. OBJECTIVE: To treat patients that received peripheral nerve entrapment surgery with comprehensive rehabilitation by decimeter wave therapy and electrical stimulation, and to observe the clinical effects of promoting nerve function recovery. DESIGN: Randomized controlled study. SETTINGS: Department of Orthopaedics, the Third Hospital of Baoding; Department of Hand Surgery, the Third Hospital of Hebei Medical University; Woman-Children Healthcare Center, Southern District, Baoding. PARTICIPANTS: A total of 124 patients, who received peripheral nerve entrapment surgery, were selected from the Department of Orthopaedics, the Third Hospital of Baoding between July 2001 and May 2007. All patients met the diagnostic standard of peripheral nerve entrapment syndrome defined by Doctor Chen in 1995. All subjects gave informed consent for treatments and conditions involved. The experiment was approved by a local ethics committee. All patients were randomly divided into four groups: electrical stimulation group, decimeter wave group, compound physical factor group, and control group, with 31 subjects in each group. METHODS: Patients received neurolysis at an appropriate interval after hospitalization. ① Multi-form wave therapeutic equipment made in China was used to treat patients in the electrical stimulation group after neurolysis. Wave form, stimulus width, interval time, and stimulus intensity were regulated based on the grade of nerve injury. The details were as follows: mild nerve injury: 50-100-ms stimulus width and 1 500-2 000-ms intervals; moderate nerve injury: 100-200-ms stimulus width and 3 000-4 000-ms intervals; severe nerve injury: 200-300-ms stimulus width and 3 000-6 000-ms intervals. Current dosage was 20- 40 mA. The electrical stimulation was given 6 minutes/session, once a day, and 20 days were regarded as one treatment cycle. ② A TMA-A double-frequent mild-hot therapeutic instrument was used on patients in the decimeter wave group after neurolysis. The therapeutic program was adapted to the early and middle-late phase. In the early phase, the decimeter wave was 10-15 W, 10 minutes/session, once a day; in the middle-late phase, the decimeter wave was 10-30 W, 20 minutes/session, once a day. Twenty days were regarded as one treatment cycle. ③ Patients in the compound physical factor group following neurolysis were treated the same as the decimeter wave group and electrical stimulation group, respectively. The treatment was performed once a day, and 20 days were regarded as one course. ④ Patients in the control group were not administered any physical treatment. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Therapeutic efficacy was comprehensively evaluated based on motor and sensory evaluation criteria (set by Subassociation of Hand Surgery, Chinese Medical Association) at 1, 2, and 3 months after surgery, as well as changes in the electromyogram before and after operation. RESULTS: All 124 patients with peripheral nerve entrapment syndrome were included in the final analysis. One month after surgery, fineness rates in the electrical stimulation group, decimeter wave group, and compound physical factor group were not significantly different from those in the control group (P > 0.05). There was also no significant difference between the electrical stimulation group, decimeter wave group, and compound physical factor group (P > 0.05). Two months after surgery, fineness rates in the electrical stimulation group and decimeter wave group were not significantly different from the control group (P > 0.05). However, fineness rates were higher in the compound physical factor group compared to the otherthree groups (P < 0.05). There was no significant difference between the electrical stimulation group and the decimeter wave group (P > 0.05). Three months after operation, fineness rates in the electrical stimulation group, decimeter wave group, and compound physical factor group were higher than the control group (P < 0.05). However, there was no significant difference between the electrical stimulation group, decimeter wave group, and compound physical factor group (P > 0.05). CONCLUSION: The combination of decimeter wave therapy and electrical stimulation can remarkably shorten the recovery time of peripheral nerve function. The synergistic effect is superior to that of electrical stimulation and decimeter wave alone. | 18 | Interface and surface engineering of black phosphorus: a review for optoelectronic and photonic applications显示文摘Since being rediscovered as an emerging 2D material,black phosphorus(BP),with an extraordinary energy structure and unusually strong interlayer interactions,offers new opportunities for optoelectronics and photonics.However,due to the thin atomic body and the ease of degradation with water and oxides,BP is highly sensitive to the surrounding environment.Therefore,high-quality engineering of interfaces and surfaces plays an essential role in BP-based applications.In this review,begun with a review of properties of BP,different strategies of interface and surfaces engineering for high ON-OFF ratio,enhanced optical absorption,and fast optical response are reviewed and highlighted,and recent state-of-the-art advances on optoelectronic and photonic devices are demonstrated.Finally,the opportunities and challenges for future BP-related research are considered. | Haoran Mu Wenzhi Yu Jian Yuan Shenghuang Lin Guangyu Zhang | 2022 | Materials Futures2022,1,1: | 0 |
