DID Code:A Bridge Connecting the Materials Genome Engineering Database w让h Inheritable Integrated Intelligent Manufacturing显示文摘A data identifier(DID)is an essential tag or label in all kinds of databases—particularly those related to integrated computational materials engineering(ICME),inheritable integrated intelligent manufacturing(I3M),and the Industrial Internet ofThings. With the guidance and quick acceleration of the developme nt of advanced materials,as envisioned by official documents worldwide, more investigations are required to construct relative numerical standards for material informatics. This work proposes a universal DID format consisting of a set of build chains, which aligns with the classical form of identifier in both international and national standards, such as ISO/IEC 29168-1:2000,GB/T 27766-2011,GA/T 543.2-2011,GM/T 0006-2012,GJB 7365-2011,SL 325-2014,SL 607-201&WS 363.2-2011,and QX/T 39-2005.Each build chain is made up of capital letters and numbers, with no symbols. Moreover, the total length of each build chain is not restricted, which follows the formation of the Universal Coded Character Set in the international standard of ISO/IEC 10646.Based on these rules, the proposed DID is flexible and convenient for extendi ng and sharing in and between various cloud-based platforms.Accordingly, classical two-dimensional(2D)codes,including the Hanxin Code,Lots Perception Matrix(LP)Code,Quick Response(Q.R)code,Grid Matrix(GM)code, and Data Matrix(DM)Code, can be constructed and precisely recognized and/or decoded by either smart phones or specific machines.By utilizing these 2D codes as the fingerprints of a set of data linked with cloud-based platforms, progress and updates in the composition-processing-structure-property-performance workflow process can be tracked spontaneously, paving a path to accelerate the discovery and manufacture of advanced materials and enhance research productivity, performance, and collaboration.William Yi Wang Peixuan Li Deye Lin Bin Tang Jun Wang Quanmei Guan Qian Ye Haixing Dai Jun Gao Xiaoli Fan Hongchao Kou Haifeng Song Feng Zhou Jijun Ma Zi-Kui Liu Jinshan Li Weimin Liu 2020Engineering2020,6,6:4
Identification of Histoplasma causing an unexplained disease cluster in Matthews Ridge, Guyana显示文摘Here,we report the identification of Histoplasma causing an unexplained disease cluster in Matthews Ridge,Guyana. In March 2019,14 employees of Chongqing Bosai Mining Company,China, working in a manganese mining of Guyana, had unexplained fever, and two of them died.We obtained lung and brain tissues as well as the blood samples from the two deceased cases(patient No.1 and 2),and bronchoscopy lavages and cerebrospinal fluid samples from one severe case(patient No.3),respectively.All samples were tested by pathological examination,high-throughput sequencing, and real-time PCR.Pathological detection showed the presence of spore-like structures in the lung tissue of patient No.1,indicating a fungal infection in this patient.Nanopore sequencing identified the existing of H.capsulatum in the lung tissue sample within 13 h.Next-generation sequencing identified specific fragments of H.capsulatum in all of the samples tested(lung, brain and blood serum from the deceased cases, and plasma from the severe case).Real-time PCR assays did not reveal any viral infection related to transmission from bat feces. We conclude that H.capsulatum was the causative pathogen of this disease cluster based on epidemiologic, clinical, pathological and nucleic acid evidence.Ji Wang Weimin Zhou Hua Ling Xiaoping Dong Yi Zhang Jiandong Li Yong Zhang Jingdong Song William J.Liu Yang Li Ruiqing Zhang Wei Zhen Kun Cai Shuangli Zhu Dongyan Wang Jinbo Xiao Yigang Tong Wenli Liu Lihua Song Wei Wu Yang Liu Xiang Zhao Ruihuan Wang Sheng Ye Jing Wang Roujian Lu Baoying Huang Fei Ye Wenwen Lei Rongbao Gao Qi Shi Cao Chen Jun Han Wenbo Xu George F.Gao Xuejun Ma Guizhen Wu 2019Biosafety and Health2019,1,3:3
Differentiation renders susceptibility to excitotoxicity in HT22 neurons显示文摘HT22 is an immortalized mouse hippocampal neuronal cell line that does not express cholinergic and glutamate receptors like mature hippocampal neurons in vivo. This in part prevents its use as a model for mature hippocampal neurons in memory-related studies. We now report that HT22 cells were appropriately induced to differentiate and possess properties similar to those of mature hippocampal neurons in vivo, such as becoming more glutamate-receptive and excitatory. Results showed that sensitivity of HT22 cells to glutamate-induced toxicity changed dramatically when comparing undifferentiated with differentiated cells, with the half-effective concentration for differentiated cells reducing approximately two orders of magnitude.Moreover,glutamate-induced toxicity in differentiated cells, but not undifferentiated cells, was inhibited by the N-methyl-Daspartate receptor antagonists MK-801 and memantine.Evidently, differentiated HT22 cells expressed N-methyl-D-aspartate receptors, while undifferentiated cells did not.Our experimental findings indicated that differentiation is important for immortalized cell lines to render post-mitotic neuronal properties, and that differentiated HT22 neurons represent a better model of hippocampal neurons than undifferentiated cells.Minchao He Jun Liu haowu Cheng Yigang Xing William Z Suo 2013Neural Regeneration Research2013,8,14:3
Optimizing mechanical and magnetic properties of AlCoCrFeNi high-entropy alloy via FCC to BCC phase transformation显示文摘FCC,BCC and B2 phases, the most common phases in high-entropy alloys(HEAs),are widely investigated to tailor their mechanical and magnetic performances. The detailed investigation of FCC to BCC/B2 phase transformation of Al Co Cr Fe Ni HEA in this paper reveals its evolution and structure-properties relations in terms of both temperature and holding duration. With increasing heat treatment temperature and duration, such transition will progress simultaneously at both the dendric core(DC)region and interdendric(ID)region and the volume of phase transformation from FCC to BCC phases is greater than FCC to B2 phases, resulting in increased yield strength and saturation magnetization. The obvious phase transition of the Al Co Cr Fe Ni HEA at 1200℃can enhance its yield strength and saturation magnetization as a sacrifice of its fracture strain. However,an excellent combination of mechanical-magnetic properties was achieved when heat-treated at 1100℃for 50 h by optimizing both the transformation and the size of B2 phases. Our present study could pave ways to design the HEAs or other alloys with an optimum combination of mechanical and magnetic properties for application-oriented viewpoints.Chendong Zhao Jinshan Li Yudong Liu Xiao Ma Yujie Jin William Yi Wang Hongchao Kou Jun Wang 2021Journal of Materials Science & Technology2021,,27:3
Tailoring mechanical and magnetic properties of AlCoCrFeNi high-entropy alloy via phase transformation显示文摘Phase constitutions, either changed by alloying or by phase transformation, are the key factors to determine the magnetic and mechanical performances of high-entropy alloys(HEAs).Using the AlCoCrFeNi HEA as a candidate alloy, this paper demonstrates the effect of phase transformation on both the mechanical and magnetic properties in the multi-phase system. With increasing heat treatment temperature, the sigma(σ)and face-centered-cubic(FCC)phases disappeared at 1000℃and 1200℃,respectively.Such volume fraction changes ofσ,FCC and body-centered-cubic(BCC)phases have divergent effects on mechanical and magnetic properties. The excellent strength-ductility combination will be achieved as the disappearance ofσphase and formation of FCC phase. As for the magnetic properties, the volume fraction of BCC phase plays a major role in determining its saturation magnetization. When the volume fraction change of BCC phase is not evident, the higher volume fraction of FCC phase will influence its magnetization at 2 T.Our present work might provide insights into analyzing the evolution of both mechanical and magnetic properties of HEAs caused by complex phase transformation.Chendong Zhao Jinshan Li Yudong Liu William Yi Wang Hongchao Kou Eric Beaugnon Jun Wang 2021Journal of Materials Science & Technology2021,,14:2
IRE1-RACK1 axis orchestrates ER stress preconditioning-elicited cytoprotection from ischemia/reperfusion injury in liver显示文摘Endoplasmic reticulum(ER)stress is involved in ischemic preconditioning that protects various organs from ischemia/reperfusion(I/R)injury.We established an in vivo ER stress preconditioning model in which tunicamycin was injected into rats before hepatic I/R.The hepatic I/R injury, demonstrated by serum aminotransferase level and the ultra-structure of the liver, was alleviated by administration of tunicamycin, which induced ER stress in rat liver by activating inositol-requiring enzyme1(IRE1)andupregulating78 kDaglucose-regulated protein(GRP78).The proteomic identification for IRE1 binders revealed interaction and cooperation among receptor for activated C kinase 1(RACK1),phosphorylated AMPK,and IRE1 under ER stress conditions in a spatiotemporal manner.Furthermore,in vitro ER stress preconditioningwas induced by thapsigargin and tunicamycin in L02 and Hep G2 cells.Surprisingly,BCL2 was found to bephosphorylated by IRE1 under ER stress conditions to prevent apoptotic process by activation of autophagy. In conclusion,ER stress preconditioning protects against hepatic I/R injury, which is orchestrated by IRE1-RACK1 axis through the activation of BCL2.Our findings provide novel insights into the molecular pathways underlying ER stress preconditioning-elicited cytoprotective effect against hepatic I/R injury.Dong Liu Xing Liu Ti Zhou William Yao Jun Zhao Zhigang Zheng Wei Jiang Fengsong Wang Felix O.Aikhionbare Donald L.Hill Nerimah Emmett Zhen Guo Dongmei Wang Xuebiao Yao Yong Chen 2016Journal of Molecular Cell Biology2016,8,2:1
The semiannual variation of transpolar arc incidence and its relationship to the Russell–McPherron effect显示文摘Earth’s aurora is a luminescent phenomenon generated by the interaction between magnetospheric precipitating particles and the upper atmosphere;it plays an important role in magnetosphere–ionosphere(M-I)coupling.The transpolar arc(TPA)is a discrete auroral arc distributed in the noon-midnight direction poleward of the auroral oval and connects the dayside to the nightside sectors of the auroral oval.Studying the seasonal variation of TPA events can help us better understand the long-term variation of the interaction between the solar wind, the magnetosphere, and M-I coupling. However,a statistical study of the seasonal variation of TPA incidence has not previously been carried out.In this paper,we have identified 532 TPA events from the IMAGE database(2000–2005)and the Polar database(1996–2002),and calculated the incidence of TPA events for different months. We find a semiannual variation in TPA incidence.Clear peaks in the incidence of TPAs occur in March and September;a less pronounced peak appears in November. We also examine seasonal variation in the northward interplanetary magnetic field(IMF)over the same time period. The intensity and occurrence rate of the northward IMF exhibit patterns similar to that of the TPA incidence.Having studied IMF Bz before TPA onset,we find that strong and steady northward IMF conditions are favorable for TPA formation. We suggest that the semiannual variation observed in TPA incidence may be related to the Russell–McPherron(R-M)effect due to the projection effect of the IMF By under northward IMF conditions.Tao Tang Jun Yang QuanQi Shi AnMin Tian Shi-Chen Bai Alexander William Degeling SuiYan Fu JingXian Liu Tong Shao ZeYuan Sun 2020Earth and Planetary Physics2020,4,6:1

Osteocyte Egln1/Phd2 links oxygen sensing and biomineralization via FGF23显示文摘Osteocytes act within a hypoxic environment to control key steps in bone formation.FGF23,a critical phosphate-regulating hormone,is stimulated by low oxygen/iron in acute and chronic diseases, however the molecular mechanisms directing this process remain unclear. Our goal was to identify the osteocyte factors responsible for FGF23 production driven by changes in oxygen/iron utilization.Hypoxia-inducible factor-prolyl hydroxylase inhibitors(HIF-PHI)which stabilize HIF transcription factors, increased Fgf23 in normal mice,as well as in osteocyte-like cells;in mice with conditional osteocyte Fgf23 deletion, circulating i FGF23 was suppressed. An inducible MSC cell line(‘MPC2’)underwent FG-4592 treatment and ATACseq/RNAseq,and demonstrated that differentiated osteocytes significantly increased HIF genomic accessibility versus progenitor cells.Integrative genomics also revealed increased prolyl hydroxylase Egln1(Phd2)chromatin accessibility and expression, which was positively associated with osteocyte differentiation. In mice with chronic kidney disease(CKD),Phd1-3 enzymes were suppressed, consistent with FGF23 upregulation in this model.Conditional loss of Phd2 from osteocytes in vivo resulted in upregulated Fgf23,in line with our findings that the MPC2 cell line lacking Phd2(CRISPR Phd2-KO cells)constitutively activated Fgf23 that was abolished by HIF1αblockade.In vitro,Phd2-KO cells lost iron-mediated suppression of Fgf23 and this activity was not compensated for by Phd1 or-3.In sum, osteocytes become adapted to oxygen/iron sensing during differentiation and are directly sensitive to bioavailable iron.Further,Phd2 is a critical mediator of osteocyte FGF23 production, thus our collective studies may provide new therapeutic targets for skeletal diseases involving disturbed oxygen/iron sensing.Megan L.Noonan Pu Ni Emmanuel Solis Yamil G.Marambio Rafiou Agoro Xiaona Chu Yue Wang Hongyu Gao Xiaoling Xuei Erica L.Clinkenbeard Guanglong Jiang Sheng Liu Steve Stegen Geert Carmeliet William R.Thompson Yunlong Liu Jun Wan Kenneth E.White 2023Bone Research2023,11,1:1
Back to Science in Searching for SARS-CoV-2 Origins显示文摘In recent decades, emerging and re-emerging human-infecting pathogens have been represented as huge threats to public health and have become a global concern(1).After outbreaks of two coronaviruses(CoVs),severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus(SARS-CoV)and Middle East respiratory syndrome coronavirus(MERS-CoV),severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)became the first-known pandemic hastening CoV with tremendous wrecking to the world(2).The origin tracing of these emerging pathogens is of great significance in infectious disease prevention and control(3–4).The origin of SARS-CoV-2 remains elusive after the more than 3-year pandemic, though scientists around the world are making great efforts. From the experience of studying many other infectious pathogens, origin tracing is systematic and time-consuming work. The supposed origins of many infectious pathogens are still in debate, including SARS-CoV and human immunodeficiency virus,etc(5).William J Liu Wenwen Lei Xiaozhou He Peipei Liu Qihui Wang Zhiqiang Wu Yun Tan Shuhui Song Gary Wong Jian Lu Jingkun Jiang Qiang Wei Mingkun Li Juncai Ma Xiaozhong Peng Yixue Li Baoxu Huang Yigang Tong Jun Han Guizhen Wu 2023China CDC weekly2023,5,14:0
Article Navigation Syntelin inhibits triple-negative breast cancer cell proliferation and metastasis显示文摘Dear Editor,The hallmarks of cancer comprise several distinct biological characteristics acquired during the multistep development of human tumors with the unique feature of genomic instability(Shen,2011).These cancer characteristics include sustaining proliferative signaling, evading growth suppressors, resisting cell death, enabling replicative immortality, inducing angiogenesis, and activating invasion and metastasis(Chen et al.,2011;Song et al.,2018).Triple-negative breast cancer(TNBC),an aggressive disease with increased risks for visceral metastases, has a poor prognosis due to unavailable and viable therapeutic targets(Bianchini et al.,2016).A TNBC diagnosis indicates that cancer cells test negative for three key receptors:estrogen receptor, progesterone receptor, and human epidermal growth factor receptor 2(Bianchini et al.,2016).The absence of these three receptors renders existing hormone and targeted therapies ineffective.McKay Mullen Fengrui Yang Jun Cao Yang Cao Xu Liu Gee Young Lee Tao Li William Yao Zhihong Yang Jiahai Zhang Kela Johnson Felix Aikhionbare Yong Chen Xinjiao Gao Dongmei Wang Xia Ding Hadiyah-Nicole Green Xing Liu Xuebiao Yao 2021Journal of Molecular Cell Biology2021,13,11:0
A pan-coronavirus peptide inhibitor prevents SARS-CoV-2 infection in mice by intranasal delivery显示文摘Coronaviruses(Co Vs)have brought serious threats to humans, particularly severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-Co V-2),which continually evolves into multiple variants. These variants, especially Omicron, reportedly escape therapeutic antibodies and vaccines, indicating an urgent need for new antivirals with pan-SARS-Co V-2 inhibitory activity. We previously reported that a peptide fusion inhibitor,P3,targeting heptad repeated-1(HR1)of SARS-Co V-2 spike(S)protein, could inhibit viral infections. Here,we further designed multiple derivatives of the P3 based on structural analysis and found that one derivative, the P315V3,showed the most efficient antiviral activity against SARS-Co V-2 variants and several other sarbecoviruses,as well as other human-Co Vs(HCo Vs).P315V3 also exhibited effective prophylactic efficacy against the SARS-Co V-2 Delta and Omicron variants in mice via intranasal administration. These results suggest that P315V3,which is in PhaseⅡclinical trial,is promising for further development as a nasal pan-SARS-Co V-2 or pan-Co Vs inhibitor to prevent or treat CoV diseases.Lili Wu Anqi Zheng Yangming Tang Yan Chai Jiantao Chen Lin Cheng Yu Hu Jing Qu Wenwen Lei William Jun Liu Guizhen Wu Shaogui Zeng Hang Yang Qihui Wang George Fu Gao 2023Science China(Life Sciences)2023,66,10:0
High-throughput investigations of configurational-transformation-dominated serrations in CuZr/Cu nanolaminates显示文摘Metallic amorphous/crystalline(A/C)nanolaminates exhibit excellent ductility while retaining their high strength. However, the underlying physical mechanisms and the resultant structural changes during plastic deformation still remain unclear. In the present work, the structure-property relationship of CuZr/Cu A/C nanolaminates is established through integrated high-throughput micro-compression tests and molecular dynamics simulations together with high-resolution transmission electron microcopy. The serrated flow of nanolaminates results from the formation of hexagonal-close-packed(HCP)-type stacking faults and twins inside the face-centered-cubic(FCC)Cu nano-grains,the body-centered-cubic(BCC)-type ordering at their grain boundaries, and the crystallization of the amorphous CuZr layers. The serration behavior of CuZr/Cu A/C nanolaminates is determined by several factors, including the formation of dense dislocation networks from the multiplication of initial dislocations that formed after yielding,weak-spots-related configurational-transitions and shear-transition-zone activities, and deformation-induced devitrification. The present work provides an insight into the heterogeneous deformation mechanism of A/C nanolaminates at the atomic scale, and mechanistic base for the microstructural design of self-toughening metallic-glass(MG)-based composites and A/C nanolaminates.William Yi Wang Bin Gana Deye Lin Jun Wang Yiguang Wang Bin Tang Hongchao Kou Shunli Shang Yi Wang Xingyu Gao Haifeng Song Xidong Hui Laszlo J.Kecskes Zhenhai Xia Karin A.Dahmen Peter K.Liaw Jinshan Lia Zi-Kui Liu 2020Journal of Materials Science & Technology2020,52,18:0
