| 13 | Dynamic remote monitoring system for plant root growth and water consumption显示文摘In order to improve the level of multi-functional and automatic observation of crop root system growth,a soil column monitoring system was designed to facilitate in situ dynamic monitoring of root growth and water consumption.The system consists of 20 plastic tubular backfill soil columns,each with an inner diameter of 32 cm and height of 300 cm.The crops were planted at the top of the soil column with the surrounding leveled with the ground surface and the site is in a greenhouse.The underground portion of the soil column contains small round windows on the tube through which root growth can be monitored,roots can be pruned and soil samples can be obtained.A multiport serial weighing system was designed and placed at the base of the soil column.Twenty electronic balances were connected to the personal computer through three CP-168U multiport serial cards and RS-232 serial cables.The host software was developed on the browser/server(Browser/Server),and data collection and remote data transmission and data sharing were implemented using the Java programming language and applying Internet data transmission technology and Web application technology.System tests showed a relatively good stability and real-time capability,and with accuracy up to 50 g and the evapotranspiration of each soil column was 0.25-0.65 kg per day.The root-system observation system developed in this study surpassed the traditional method of root-digging sampling and thus provided an alternative that could be used to automatically monitor the root system growth status. | Han Wenting Ju Yutu Wu Pute Dang Gerong Nie Junfeng Su Ki Ooi | 2013 | International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2013,6,2: | 1 |

| 19 | Integrated scanning spectrometer with a tunable micro-ring resonator and an arrayed waveguide grating显示文摘Integrated spectrometers with both wide optical bandwidths and high spectral resolutions are required in applications such as spectral domain optical coherence tomography(SD-OCT).Here we propose a compact integrated scanning spectrometer by using a tunable micro-ring resonator(MRR)integrated with a single arrayed waveguide grating for operation in the 1265-1335-nm range.The spectral resolution of the spectrometer is determined by the quality factor of the MRR,and the optical bandwidth is defined by the free spectral range of the arrayed waveguide grating.The spectrometer is integrated with on-chip germanium photodetectors,which enable direct electrical readout.A 70-nm optical bandwidth and a 0.2-nm channel spacing enabled by scanning the MRR across one free spectral range are demonstrated,which offer a total of350 wavelength channels with 31-kHz wavelength scanning speed.The integrated spectrometer is applied to measure different spectra and the interference signals from an SD-OCT system,which shows its great potential for future applications in sensing and imaging systems. | ZUNYUE ZHANG YI WANG JIARUI WANG DAN YI DAVID WENG U CHAN WU YUAN HON KI TSANG | 2022 | Photonics Research2022,10,5: | 1 |
