| 3 | Disentangling the effects of topography and space on the distributions of dominant species in a subtropical forest显示文摘Topography and space are two important factors determining plant species assemblages in forest communities.Quantification of the contribution of these two factors in determining species distribution helps us to evaluate their relative importance in determining species assemblages.This study aims to disentangle the effect of topography and space on the distributions of 14 dominant species in a subtropical mixed forest.Spearman correlation analysis and the torustranslation test were used to test the species–habitat associations.Variation partitioning was used to quantify the relative contributions of topography and space at three sampling scales and three life stages.Correlation analyses and torus-translation tests showed species abundance was mostly correlated with topographic wetness index,vertical distance from the channel network and convexity.Variation partitioning showed that pure topography,pure space and spatially structured topography explained about 2.1 %,41.2 % and 13.8 %of the variation in species distributions,respectively.For nine species,total topography fractions peaked in 20 m quadrats.For ten species,the pure space fractions peaked in 50 m quadrats.For many species,the total topography fraction andthe pure space fraction were larger for the most abundant life stages,which reflected the importance of sampling effect.However,some cases did not follow this trend suggesting that the effects of ecological processes such as habitat filtering,density dependence or dispersal limitation may exceed the sampling effects.In conclusion,we found that spatially structured topography and pure space primarily shaped the distribution of dominant tree species.Furthermore,their effects were both scale- and life stage-dependent. | Qinggang Wang Yaozhan Xu Zhijun Lu Dachuan Bao Yili Guo Junmeng Lu Kuihan Zhang Haibo Liu Hongjie Meng Xiujuan Qiao Handong Huang Mingxi Jiang | 2014 | Chinese Science Bulletin2014,59,35: | 16 |
| 4 | Current status and progresses of SSRF project显示文摘The Shanghai Synchrotron Radiation Facility (SSRF), a third generation light source, comprises a 3.5GeV electron storage ring, a full energy booster, a 150 MeV linac, and seven beamlines in Phase I of the project. Beginning at the end of 2004 with a groundbreaking ceremony, the accelerators were installed in ten months from November 2006, and were successfully tested and commissioned in the past a couple of months. On December 21, 2007, storing electron beams in the storage ring was realized, and the first synchrotron radiations were observed three days later on the front-end of Beamline BL16B of the facility. Now, it runs 3 GeV 100 mA beams with a lifetime of 8~10 hours. | 5 | Removal of Pb(Ⅱ) from aqueous solution by hydrous manganese dioxide:Adsorption behavior and mechanism显示文摘Hydrous manganese dioxide (HMO) synthesized by redox of potassium permanganate and hydrogen peroxide was used as an adsorbent for Pb(Ⅱ) removal.The specific surface area,pore volume and BJH pore diameter of the HMO were 79.31m2/g,0.07cm3/g and 3.38 nm,respectively.The adsorption equilibrium at 298K could be well described by the Langmuir isotherm equation with q max value of 352.55mg/g.The negative values of G and the positive values of H and S indicated the adsorption process was spontaneous and endothermic.The pseudo second-order equation could best fit the adsorption data.The value of the calculated activation energy for Pb(Ⅱ) adsorption onto the HMO was 38.23 kJ/mol.The uptake of Pb(Ⅱ) by HMO was correlated with increasing surface hydroxyl group content and the main adsorbed speciation was PbOH+.The final chemical state of Pb(Ⅱ) on the surface of HMO was similar to PbO.HMO was a promising candidate for Pb(Ⅱ) removal from aqueous solution. | Meng Xu Hongjie Wang Di Lei Dan Qu Yujia Zhai Yili Wang | 2013 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2013,25,3: | 9 |

| 7 | Evaluation of maize inbred lines currently used in Chinese breeding programs for resistance to six foliar diseases显示文摘Foliar diseases are common in most maize-producing regions and have caused serious yield reduction in China. To evaluate genetic resistance of parental lines actively used in maize breeding programs to major foliar diseases, 152 maize inbred lines were tested against northern corn leaf blight(NCLB), southern corn leaf blight(SCLB), Curvularia leaf spot(CLS),gray leaf spot(GLS), common rust, and southern rust from 2003 to 2005. A small number of lines exhibited highly resistant reactions to common rust and southern rust, but none were highly resistant to NCLB, SCLB, CLS, and GLS. Although 53.3%, 40.8%, and 80.7% of lines were resistant to NCLB, SCLB, and common rust, the resistance in most lines was moderate.Resistance to CLS, GLS, and southern rust was rare in this collection of maize lines. Five lines,313, Chang 7-2, Qi 319, Qi 318, and Shen 137, were resistant to five diseases tested. Lines belonging to heterotic subgroup PB exhibited better resistance to the foliar diseases than lines from other heterotic subgroups, such as BSSS, PA, Lancaster, LRC, and PA. | 9 | High manure load reduces bacterial diversity and network complexity in a paddy soil under crop rotations显示文摘Long-term application of chemical fertilizers causes soil degradation and nitrogen(N)loss,but these effects could be alleviated by organic fertilizers.In addition,crop rotation is a feasible practice to increase soil fertility,soil quality and crop yields comparing with monocultural cropping patterns.However,questions remain concerning how the soil microbiome responds to different manure application rates under crop rotations.Here,we collected soil samples from a rice-rape system to investigate the response of the soil microbiome to nine years of pig manure application at different rates(CK:0 kg ha^(-1),M1:1930 kg ha^(-1),M2:3860 kg ha^(-1) and M3:5790 kg ha^(-1)).Our results revealed that the bacterialα-diversity(Chao1 and Shannon index)in the rape season increased first and then decreased with increasing manure application rates,and a high manure load tended to decrease the bacterialα-diversity in the rice season.Long-term manure application enriched some copiotrophic bacteria,such as Proteobacteria and Actinobacteria,while it decreased the relative abundance of Nitrospirae.Redundancy analysis(RDA)and the Mantel test indicated that soil pH,TC,TN,AP,C/P and N/P ratios were the main factors influencing bacterial communities.Moreover,network analysis showed that a low manure application rate shaped a complexly connected and stable bacterial community,while higher manure application rate decreased the stability of the bacterial network.These findings improve our understanding of bacterial responses to longterm manure application under crop rotations and their relationships with soil factors,especially in the context of increasing fertilizer inputs. | Haiyang Liu Xing Huang Wenfeng Tan Hongjie Di Jianming Xu Yong Li | 2020 | Soil Ecology Letters2020,2,2: | 6 |

| 17 | Characterization and Tribological Properties of Graphene/Copper Composites Fabricated by Electroless Plating and Powder Metallurgy显示文摘Self-lubricating copper matrix composites reinforced with graphene were prepared by electroless plating and powder metallurgy.The morphology and structure of graphene,Cu@graphene powder,and Cu@graphene/Cu composites were characterized and the tribological properties of Cu@graphene/Cu composites were investigated.The X-ray diffraction pattern of Cu@graphene confirms the coexistence of characteristic peaks of both copper and graphene,with a weakened characteristic peak of carbon impurity.The obtained morphology of Cu@graphene reveals that the surface of the graphene is completely covered with a uniform and compact copper layer with lots of copper nanoparticles.Raman and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy analyses show that the oxygen functional groups and defects on the surface of the redox graphene can be reduced through the electroless plating process.The tribological results indicate that the coefficient of friction of Cu@graphene/Cu composites initially decreases and then increases with an increase in Cu@graphene content.The lowest coefficient of friction,which is about 29.47% lower than that of pure Cu,is achieved in the Cu@graphene/Cu composites with 3.0 wt%Cu@graphene.The chemical composition and topography of the wear tracks for Cu@graphene/Cu composites infer that the formation of a well-consolidated graphene-rich lubricious tribolayer at the contact surface and a higher microhardness work together to enhance the tribological performance of Cu@graphene/Cu composites. | Zhigang Zhang Xiaotong Lu Jianrong Xu Hongjie Luo | 2020 | Acta Metallurgica Sinica(English Letters)2020,33,7: | 3 |
| 18 | Enabling Argyrodite Sulfides as Superb Solid-State Electrolyte with Remarkable Interfacial Stability Against Electrodes显示文摘While argyrodite sulfides are getting more and more attention as highly promising solid-state electrolytes(SSEs)for solid batteries,they also suffer from the typical sulfide setbacks such as poor electrochemical compatibility with Li anode and high-voltage cathodes and serious sensitivity to humid air,which hinders their practical applications.Herein,we have devised an effective strategy to overcome these challenging shortcomings through modification of chalcogen chemistry under the guidance of theoretical modeling.The resultant Li_(6.25)PS_(4)O_(1.25)Cl_(0.75)delivered excellent electrochemical compatibility with both pure Li anode and high-voltage LiCoO_(2)cathode,without compromising the superb ionic conductivity of the pristine sulfide.Furthermore,the current SSE also exhibited highly improved stability to oxygen and humidity,with further advantage being more insulating to electrons.The remarkably enhanced compatibility with electrodes is attributed to in situ formation of helpful electrolyte–electrode interphases.The formation of in situ anode–electrolyte interphase(AEI)enabled stable Li plating/stripping in the Li|Li_(6.25)PS_(4)O_(1.25)Cl_(0.75)|Li symmetric cells at a high current density up to 1 mA cm^(-2)over 200 h and 2 mA cm^(-2)for another 100 h.The in situ amorphous nano-film cathode–electrolyte interphase(CEI)facilitated protection of the SSE from decomposition at elevated voltage.Consequently,the synergistic effect of AEI and CEI helped the LiCoO_(2)|Li_(6.25)PS_(4)O_(1.25)Cl_(0.75)|Li full-battery cell to achieve markedly better cycling stability than that using the pristine Li_(6)PS_(5)Cl as SSE,at a high area loading of the active cathode material(4 mg cm^(-2))in type-2032 coin cells.This work is to add a desirable SSE in the argyrodite sulfide family,so that high-performance solid battery cells could be fabricated without the usual need of strict control of the ambient atmosphere. | Hongjie Xu Guoqin Cao Yonglong Shen Yuran Yu Junhua Hu Zhuo Wang Guosheng Shao | 2022 | Energy & Environmental Materials2022,5,3: | 3 |

In this paper, we employ the log-likelihood ratio of probability density functions of the received signals conditioned on the two possibly transmitted signals and by virtue of moment generating function we give the details in deriving the final precise residue expression for PEP and its CUB. | 20 | A parallel ant colonies approach to de novo prediction of protein backbone in CASP8/9显示文摘Predicting the three-dimensional structure of proteins from amino acid sequences with only a few remote homologs,or de novo prediction,remains a major challenge in computational biology.The modeling of the protein backbone represents the initial phase of a protein structure prediction process.Using a parallel ant colony optimization based on sharing one pheromone matrix,this report proposes a parallel approach to predict the structure of a protein backbone.The parallel approach combines various sources of energy functions and generates protein backbones with the lowest energies jointly determined by the various energy functions.All free modeling targets in CASP8/9 are used to evaluate the performance of the method.For 13 targets in CASP8,two out of the predicted model1s selected by our approach are the best of the published CASP8 results,and seven out of the model1s are ranked in the top 10.For 29 targets in CASP9,20 out of the best models from our predictions are ranked in the top 10,and 11 out of the model1s are ranked in the top 10. | LV Qiang WU HongJie WU JinZhen HUANG Xu LUO XiaoHu QIAN PeiDe | 2013 | Science China(Information Sciences)2013,56,10: | 2 |
