| 1 | Specific humoral immune responses in rhesus monkeys vaccinated with the Alzheimer’s disease-associated β-amyloid 1-15 peptide vaccine显示文摘Background Alzheimer’s disease(AD) is a neurodegenerative disorder characterized by overproduction of β-amyloid (Aβ), with the subsequent pathologic deposition of Aβ which is important for memory and cognition. Recent studies showed murine models of AD and AD patients inoculated with Aβ 1-42 peptide vaccine had a halted or delayed pathological progression of AD. Unfortunately, the clinical phase Ⅱ a trial of Aβ 1-42 peptide vaccine (AN1792) was halted prematurely because of episodes of menigoencephalitis in 18 of the vaccinated patients. The vaccination of BALB/c or Tg2576 transgenic mouse with Aβ 1-15 peptide vaccine is safe and the immune effects are satisfactory. This study further characterizes the specific humoral immune responses in adult rhesus monkeys induced by Aβ 1-15 peptide vaccine.Methods Five male adult rhesus monkeys were injected intramuscularly with Aβ 1-15 peptide vaccine at baseline and at weeks 2, 6, 10, 14, 18 and 22. The titers and IgG isotypes of the antibody against Aβ 1-42 in serum was measured by Enzyme-linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA). The specificity of the antibody against Aβ 1-42 was determined by Western blot. The Aβ plaques in Tg2576 transgenic mouse brain were stained with the antiserum using immunohistochemistry method.Results At the eighth week after the vaccination, antibody against Aβ 1-42 began to develop significantly in serum. The titers of the antibody increased following vaccine boosted and reached 1∶3840 at the twenty-fourth week, then decreased after the termination of inoculation. The IgG1 was accounted for the highest level in the antiserum pool. The antibody against Aβ 1-42 showed high specificity. | 2 | 溃疡性结肠炎内镜下严重度指数(UCEIS评分)与Mayo内镜评分(MES)用于预测急性重症结肠炎患者行肠切除术的比较研究显示文摘背景溃疡性结肠炎内镜下严重度指数(UCEIS)和Mayo内镜评分(MES)都是溃疡性结肠炎(UC)内镜下严重程度的客观评估方法,然而,对于这两种评分方法能否用于筛选出需要行结肠切除术的急性重症结肠炎患者,目前仍不明了。方法:对2012年1月至2016年5月间连续收治的ASC患者进行回顾性分析。提取并分析入组患者的人口统计资料、既往治疗史、疾病特征资料、实验室指标、药物治疗及内镜评估等资料。主要结局指标是住院和随访期间需行结肠切除术的患者比例。结果:92例患者纳入研究,其中37例(40.2%)需行结肠切除术。多因素分析显示,UCEIS评分是需行结肠切除术的独立预测因素(OR=3.25,95%CI:1.77~5.97;P<0.001)。UCEIS评分的ROC曲线下面积为0.85;以7分作为最佳阈值,其预测需行结肠切除术的敏感度为60.3%,特异度为85.5%。UCEIS评分对于需要行结肠切除术的预测价值优于MES评分,后者曲线下面积仅为0.65。当UCEIS评分≥7分时,有80%的ASC患者最终需行结肠切除术。结论:预测ASC患者的肠切除风险,UCEIS评分优于MES评分。对于USEIS≥7分的患者,由于其药物治疗失败风险较高,因此,可考虑早期行结肠切除术。 | Tingbin Xie Tenghui Zhang Chao Ding Xujie Dai Yi Li Zhen Guo Yao Wei Jianfeng Gong Weiming Zhu Jieshou Li | 2018 | Gastroenterology Report2018,6,1: | 6 |
| 3 | A Combining Call Admission Control and Power Control Scheme for D2D Communications Underlaying Cellular Networks显示文摘As device-to-device(D2D) communications usually reuses the resource of cellular networks, call admission control(CAC) and power control are crucial problems. However in most power control schemes, total data rates or throughput are regarded as optimization criterion. In this paper, a combining call admission control(CAC) and power control scheme under guaranteeing QoS of every user equipment(UE) is proposed. First, a simple CAC scheme is introduced. Then based on the CAC scheme, a combining call admission control and power control scheme is proposed. Next, the performance of the proposed scheme is evaluated. Finally, maximum DUE pair number and average transmitting power is calculated. | 6 | Geochemical characteristics and tectonic setting of the Tuerkubantao mafic-ultramafic intrusion in West Junggar,Xinjiang,China显示文摘Mineral chemistry,whole-rock major oxide,and trace element compositions have been determined for the Tuerkubantao mafic-ultramafic intrusion,in order to understand the early Paleozoic tectonic evolution of the West Junggar orogenic belt at the southern margin of the Central Asian orogenic belt.The Tuerkubantao mafic-ultramafic intrusion is a well-differentiated complex comprising peridotite,olivine pyroxenite,gabbro,and diorite.The ultramafic rocks are mostly seen in the central part of the intrusion and surrounded by mafic rocks.The Tuerkubantao intrusive rocks are characterized by enrichment of large ion lithophile elements and depleted high field strength elements relative to N-MORB.In addition,the Tuerkubantao intrusion displays relatively low Th/U and Nb/U(1.13—2.98 and 2.53—7.02,respectively) and high La/Nb and Ba/Nb(1.15—4.19 and 37.7—79.82,respectively).These features indicate that the primary magma of the intrusion was derived from partial melting of a previously metasomatized mantle source in a subduction setting.The trace element patterns of peridotites,gabbros,and diorite in the Tuerkubantao intrusion have sub-parallel trends,suggesting that the different rock types are related to each other by differentiation of the same primary magma.The intrusive contact between peridotite and gabbro clearly suggest that the Tuerkubantao is not a fragment of an ophiolite.However,the Tuerkubantao intrusion displays many similarities with Alaskan-type mafic-ultramafic intrusions along major sutures of Phanerozoic orogenic belts.Common features include their geodynamic setting,internal lithological zoning,and geochemistry.The striking similarities indicate that the middle Devonian Tuerkubantao intrusion likely formed in a subduction-related setting similar to that of the Alaskan-type intrusions.In combination with the Devonian magmatism and porphyry mineralization,we propose that subduction of the oceanic slab has widely existed in the expansive oceans during the Devonian around the Junggar block. | Yufeng Deng Feng Yuan Taofa Zhou Chao Xu Dayu Zhang Xuji Guo | 2015 | Geoscience Frontiers2015,6,2: | 4 |
| 7 | Dynamical decoupling of electron spins in phosphorus-doped silicon显示文摘Quantum coherence is an important enabling feature underpinning quantum computation. However, because of couplings with its noisy surrounding environment, qubits suffer from the decoherence effects. The dynamical decoupling (DD) technique uses pulse-induced qubit flips to effectively mitigate couplings between qubits and environment. Optimal DD eliminates dephasing up to a given order with the minimum number of pulses. In this paper, we first introduce our recent work on prolonging electron spin coherence in γ-irradiated malonic acid crystals and analyze different decoherence mechanisms in this solid system. Then we focus on electron spin relaxation properties in another system, phosphorous-doped silicon (Si:P) crystals. These properties have been investigated by pulse electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR). We also investigate the performance of the dynamical decoupling technique on this system. | 9 | Network Coding-Aware Routing Protocol in Wireless Mesh Networks显示文摘Network coding mechanisms, such as COPE, can improve network throughput effectively in Wireless Mesh Networks(WMN). While the Hybrid Wireless Mesh Protocol(HWMP) is suitable for WMN, its extension with COPE does not provide any added benefits; specifically, HWMP cannot establish paths with more coding opportunities. As a result, the advantages of network coding cannot be exploited sufficiently. This paper proposes improvements upon HWMP with a new, network Coding-Aware routing protocol(CAHWMP) for WMN. In the CAHWMP protocol, we propose a coding criterion based on data streams to devise an algorithm for actively detecting coding opportunities during path discovery. CAHWMP subsequently establishes paths using the codingaware routing metric, which can balance channel resource consumption and the gain due to sharing resources introduced by network coding. | 11 | Calcium carbonate nanoparticles promote osteogenesis compared to adipogenesis in human bone-marrow mesenchymal stem cells显示文摘Rhombohedron-like and fusiform calcium carbonate nanoparticles were fabricated using a new method. Their geometry was controlled by varying the mixing speed and ratio of ethanol versus water in reaction system. The calcium carbonate nanoparticles(CCNPs) have slight effect on viability of human bone-marrow mesenchymal stem cells(hBMSCs) with dose-dependent and shape-dependent, but they can significantly promote osteogenic differentiation of hBMSCs in vitro by 10–37% increase of alkaline phosphatase(ALP) activity, 9–36% growth of collagen secretion and 1.13–1.83 folds upregulation of osteogenesis-related genes, even at lower dose ranges(5–20 μg/ml). The efficacity of promoting osteogenesis depends on the shape and dose of CCNPs. Furthermore,adipogenesis was inhibited by less accumulation of lipid droplets, lower triglyceride(TG) secretion and downregulation of adipogenesis-related genes. | 12 | Image recoloring using geodesic distance based color harmonization显示文摘In this paper, we present a computationally simple yet effective image recoloring method based on color harmonization. Our method permits the user to obtain recolored results interactively by rotating a harmonious template after completing color harmonization. Two main improvements are made in this paper. Firstly, we give a new strategy for finding the most harmonious scheme, in terms of finding the template which best matches the hue distribution of the input image. Secondly, in order to achieve spatially coherent harmonization, geodesic distances are used to move hues lying outside the harmonious sectors to inside them. Experiments show that our approach can produce higher-quality visually pleasing recolored images than existing methods. | 15 | Sedimentary Facies, Provenance and Geochronology of the Heshangzhen Group: Implications for the Tectonic Evolution of the Eastern Jiangnan Orogen, South China显示文摘The Neoproterozoic Jiangnan orogen plays an important role in the study of the Precambrian tectonic evolution of South China. The tectonic nature of the Neoproterozoic sedimentary basins is still controversial, due to poor understanding of the sedimentary sequences and the lack of geochronological data. Here, we present sedimentological, provenance and geochronological data from the Heshangzhen Group in the eastern Jiangnan orogen. Sedimentological analysis shows that the Luojiamen Formation was deposited in a submarine fan, and the overlying Hongchicun Formation was deposited in front of a fan delta. The youngest detrital zircons constrain the lower Luojiamen and Hongchicun formations with ages of 827.3 ± 8.4 Ma and 825 ± 12 Ma, respectively. The sandstones of the Luojiamen Formation are characterized by a large number of intermediate to felsic volcanic grains, suggesting a volcanic arc source. In contrast, quartz and sedimentary lithic grains increase in the Hongchicun Formation, showing a new input from a collisional orogenic source. Detrital zircon from six sandstone samples in the Luojiamen and Hongchicun formations yield similar age spectra of 930–820 Ma with a peak at ca. 845–860 Ma, with one main cluster at 930–820 Ma. Detrital zircons of 930–845 Ma show a positive value of εHf(t)(+2.4 to +11, mean +7.6), which is similar to the volcanic arc of the nearby Shuangxiwu Group. There are a minor group of zircons with U-Pb ages ranging from 820 Ma to 845 Ma from the middle part of the Luojiamen Formation and Hongchicun Formation, with εHf(t) values between-20 to +2.4, which are consistent with the characteristics of the Shuangqiaoshan Group. within light of the bidirectional paleocurrents in the Luojiamen Formation, it is speculated that the zircons of 820–845 Ma were recycled from the Shuangqiaoshan Group, which is derived from a continental arc to the northwest. Our data suggests that the Luojiamen Formation was formed in an inter-arc basin, while the Hongchicun Formation was formed in an accretionary wedge-top basin. When juxtaposed with the conglomeratic characteristics at the bottom of the Luojiamen Formation, it is believed that the unconformity represented by the ‘Shen Gong Movement' reflects the rapid erosion and accumulation process of island arc volcanic material. | 17 | Pressure responses of halide perovskites with various compositions, dimensionalities, and morphologies显示文摘Metal halide perovskites(HPVs)have been greatly developed over the last decade,with various compositions,dimensionalities,and morphologies,leading to an emergence of high-performance photovoltaic and optoelectronic applications.Despite the tremendous progress made,challenges remain,which calls for a better understanding of the fundamental mechanisms.Pressure,a thermodynamic variable,provides a powerful tool to tune materials’structures and properties.In combination with in situ characterization methods,high-pressure research could provide a better fundamental understanding.In this review,we summarize the recent studies of the dramatic,pressure-induced changes that occur in HPVs,particularly the enhanced and emergent properties induced under high pressure and their structure-property relationships.We first introduce the characteristics of HPVs and the basic knowledge of high-pressure techniques,as well as in situ characterization methods.We then discuss the effects of pressure on HPVs with different compositions,dimensionalities,and morphologies,and underline their common features and anomalous behaviors.In the last section,we highlight the main challenges and provide suggestions for possible future research on high-pressure HPVs. | Mei Li Tianbiao Liu Yonggang Wang Wenge Yang Xujie Lu | 2020 | Matter and Radiation at Extremes2020,5,1: | 2 |
