| 1 | A targeting black phosphorus nanoparticle based immune cells nanoregulator for photodynamic/photothermal and photo-immunotherapy显示文摘Photo-immunotherapy is a novel therapeutic approach against malignant tumors with minimal invasiveness.Herein,a targeting multifunctional black phosphorus(BP)nanoparticle,modified by PEGylated hyaluronic acid(HA),was designed for photothermal/photodynamic/photo-immunotherapy.In vitro and in vivo assays indicated that HA-BP nanoparticles possess excellent biocompatibility,stability,and sufficient therapeutic efficacy in the combined therapy of photothermal therapy(PTT)and photodynamic therapy(PDT)for cancer therapy.Moreover,the results of in vitro showed that HA-BP down-regulated the expression of CD206(M2 macrophage marker)by 42.3%and up-regulated the ratio of CD86(M1 macrophage marker)by 59.6%,indicating that HABP nanoparticles have functions in remodeling tumor associated macrophages(TAMs)phenotype(from protumor M2 TAMs to anti-tumor M1 macrophages).Fluorescence(FL)and photoacoustic(PA)multimodal imaging confirmed the selective accumulation of HA-BP in tumor site via both CD44^+mediated active targeting and passive EPR effect.In vitro and in vivo studies suggested that the combined therapy of PDT,PTT and immunotherapy using HA-BP could not only significantly inhibit original tumor but also induce immunogenic cell death(ICD)and release Damage-associated molecular patterns(DAMPs),which could induce maturation of dendritic cells(DCs)and activate effector cells that robustly evoke the antitumor immune responses for cancer treatment.This study expands the biomedical application of BP nanoparticles and displays the potential of modified BP as a multifunctional therapeutic platform for the future cancer therapy. | Xiaoge Zhang Junjie Tang Chao Li Yao Lu Lili Cheng Jie Liu | 2021 | Bioactive Materials2021,6,2: | 10 |
| 2 | Improved decadal climate prediction in the North Atlantic using EnOI-assimilated initial condition显示文摘Decadal prediction experiments of Beijing Climate Center climate system model version 1.1(BCCCSM1.1) participated in Coupled Model Intercomparison Project Phase 5(CMIP5) had poor skill in extratropics of the North Atlantic, the initialization of which was done by relaxing modeled ocean temperature to the Simple Ocean Data Assimilation(SODA) reanalysis data. This study aims to improve the prediction skill of this model by using the assimilation technique in the initialization. New ocean data are firstly generated by assimilating the sea surface temperature(SST) of the Hadley Centre Sea Ice and Sea Surface Temperature(Had ISST) dataset to the ocean model of BCC-CSM1.1 via Ensemble Optimum Interpolation(EnOI). Then a suite of decadal re-forecasts launched annually over the period 1961–2005 is carried out with simulated ocean temperature restored to the assimilated ocean data.Comparisons between the re-forecasts and previous CMIP5 forecasts show that the re-forecasts are more skillful in mid-to-high latitude SST of the North Atlantic. Improved prediction skill is also found for the Atlantic multi-decadal oscillation(AMO), which is consistent with the better skill of Atlantic meridional overturning circulation(AMOC) predicted by the re-forecasts. | 3 | Acupuncture inhibits cue-induced heroin craving and brain activation显示文摘Previous research using functional MRI has shown that specific brain regions associated with drug dependence and cue-elicited heroin craving are activated by environmental cues. Craving is an important trigger of heroin relapse, and acupuncture may inhibit craving. In this study, we performed functional MRI in heroin addicts and control subjects. We compared differences in brain activation between the two groups during heroin cue exposure, heroin cue exposure plus acupuncture at the Zusanli point (ST36) without twirling of the needle, and heroin cue exposure plus acupuncture at the Zusanli point with twirling of the needle. Heroin cue exposure elicited significant activation in craving-related brain regions mainly in the frontal lobes and callosal gyri. Acupuncture without twirling did not significantly affect the range of brain activation induced by heroin cue exposure, but significantly changed the extent of the activation in the heroin addicts group. Acupuncture at the Zusanli point with twirling of the needle significantly decreased both the range and extent of activation induced by heroin cue exposure compared with heroin cue exposure plus acupuncture without twirling of the needle. These experimental findings indicate that presentation of heroin cues can induce activation in craving-related brain regions, which are involved in reward, learning and memory, cognition and emotion. | 5 | Mechanisms of Traditional Chinese Medicine Bushenantai granules(补肾安胎颗粒) in promoting angiogenesis at the maternal-fetal interface of recurrent spontaneous abortion mice显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To assess the effects of Bushenantai(BSAT)granule(补肾安胎颗粒)on angiogenesis-related factors[E2,P,and vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF)]at the maternal-fetal interface of recurrent spontaneous abortion(RSA)mice,and to evaluate the role of BSAT in promoting angiogenesis at the maternal-fetal interface by influencing the expression of sex hormones,and VEGF.METHODS:A mouse model with normal pregnancy and another with Clark’s classic RSA were established.The RSA mice were randomly assigned to six groups:normal,model,progesterone,high-doseBSAT granule(BSAT-H),medium-dose-BSAT granule(BSAT-M),and low-dose-BSAT granule(BSAT-L)(n=10 for each group).The embryo loss rate and the histopathological changes in the decidual tissues were measured.Serum levels of estrogen(E2),progesterone(P),and VEGF were detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay.The m RNA and protein expressions of estradiol receptor(ER),progesterone receptor(PR),VEGF,and vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 2(VEGFR2)in the decidual tissues were identified by immunohistochemistry,Western blotting,and quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction.RESULTS:The embryo loss rate in all groups that received BSAT treatment was reduced,while the number of blood vessels at decidual tissues was increased.The serum levels of E2,P and VEGF were elevated,and the m RNA and protein expressions of ER,PR,VEGF,and VEGFR2 in the decidual tissues were enhanced.CONCLUSION:BSAT can improve angiogenesis at the maternal-fetal interface and reduce the embryo loss rate,which may be associated with its ability to increase the serum levels of estrogen,progesterone,and VEGF,in addition to up-regulation of m RNA and protein expression of ER,PR,VEGF,and VEGFR2 in the decidual tissues. | LI Yuanqi LI Weili YU Xinhui WU Hua WANG Yuanzhong JIN Ya HAO Lele LIU Mingmin SONG Xiaoge | 2021 | Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2021,41,4: | 3 |
| 6 | MiR-214-3p promotes proliferation and inhibits estradiol synthesis in porcine granulosa cells显示文摘Background: Granulosa cells(GCs) proliferation and estradiol synthesis significantly affect follicular development.The miR-214-3p expression in the ovarian tissues of high-yielding sows is higher than that in low-yielding sows,indicating that miR-214-3p may be involved in sow fertility. However, the functions and mechanisms of miR-214-3p on GCs are unclear. This study focuses on miR-214-3p in terms of the effects on GCs proliferation and estradiol synthesis.Results: Our findings revealed that miR-214-3p promotes proliferation and inhibits estradiol synthesis in porcine GCs. MiR-214-3p can increase the percentage of S-phase cells, the number of EdU labeled positive cells, and cell viability. However, E2 concentration was reduced after miR-214-3p agomir treatment. We also found that miR-214-3p up-regulates the expression of cell cycle genes including cell cycle protein B(Cyclin B), cell cycle protein D(Cyclin D), cell cycle protein E(Cyclin E), and cyclin-dependent kinase 4(CDK4) at the transcription and translation levels, but down-regulates the mRNA and protein levels of cytochrome P450 family 11 subfamily A member 1(CYP11A1), cytochrome P450 family 19 subfamily A member 1(CYP19A1), and steroidogenic acute regulatory protein(StAR)(i.e., the key enzymes in estradiol synthesis). | 8 | SciFinder-guided rational design of fluorescent carbon dots for ratiometric monitoring intracellular pH fluctuations under heat shock显示文摘Intracellular pH plays a significant role in various biological processes, including cell proliferation,apoptosis, metabolism, enzyme activity and homeostasis. In this work, a novel design strategy for the preparation of pH responsive carbon dots(CDs-pH) for ratiometric intracellular imaging was reported. By using SciFinder database, fluorescent CDs-pH with the required p Kavalue of 6.84 were rationally designed, which is vital important for precise sensing of intracellular pH. As a result, the synthesized CDspH demonstrated robust ability to test pH fluctuations within the physiological range of 5.4-7.4. The CDspH was further utilized for fluorescent ratiometric imaging of pH in living HeLa cells, effectively avoided the influence of autofluorescence from native cellular species. Moreover, real-time monitoring of intracellular pH fluctuation under heat shock was successfully realized. | 9 | Performance of BCC-CSM Models with Different Horizontal Resolutions in Simulating Extreme Climate Events in China显示文摘In this study,the performance of the Beijing Climate Center(BCC)Climate System Model version 1.1(BCCCSM1.1)(280-km resolution)and the BCC-CSM1.1 m(110-km resolution)in simulating extreme climate events over China in the last 40 years is compared.Both models capture the main spatial distribution features of heavy precipitation(R95T),the number of consecutive wet days(CWD),the annual count of days with precipitation≥1 mm(R1),the maximum consecutive 5-day precipitation(Rx5),and the numbers of frost days(FD)and summer days(SU).The BCC-CSM1.1 m has a better ability to simulate the detailed distribution of extreme climate events than the BCCCSM1.1,including R95T,CWD,R1,and the simple precipitation intensity index(SDII).However,the BCCCSM 1.1 m does not show an improvement in simulating the number of days with extreme precipitation(R90N),the number of consecutive dry days(CDD),the heat wave duration index(HWDI),the warm day frequency(TX90 P),and cold night frequency(TN10P).This indicates that the simulation of the R95T,CWD,R1,and SDII climate events is more sensitive to the resolution of the model.The improved BCC-CSM1.1 m is used to explore the projection of extreme climate change in China during the 21 st century under the RCP4.5(Representative Concentration Pathways)and RCP8.5 scenarios.The results show that extreme precipitation will increase dramatically over North and Southwest China in the late 21 st century.The CWD index will decrease on the Tibetan Plateau and in northeastern and central China and will increase in other parts of China;R1 will increase in northern China and decrease in southern China;Rx5 will increase dramatically in southern China;FD will decrease and SU will increase over China in the late 21 st century under both emission scenarios,with larger amplitudes in RCP8.5. | Linxiao WEI Xiaoge XIN Chan XIAO Yonghua LI Yao WU Hongyu TANG | 2019 | Journal of Meteorological Research2019,33,4: | 3 |

| 19 | Rational design of 3D porous niobium carbide MXene/rGO hybrid aerogels as promising anode for potassium-ion batteries with ultrahigh rate capability显示文摘An effective method is designed to construct three-dimensional(3D)Nb_(2)C/reduced graphene oxide(rGO)hybrid aerogels through a low-temperature graphene oxide(GO)-assisted hydrothermal self-assembly followed by freeze-drying and annealing.The intimately coupled Nb_(2)C/rGO hybrid aerogel combines the advantages of large specific surface area and rich 3D interconnected porous structure of aerogel as well as high conductivity and low potassium diffusion energy barrier of Nb_(2)C,which not only effectively prevents the self-restacking of Nb2C nanosheets to allow more active sites exposed and accommodate the volume change during the charge/discharge process,but also increases the accessibility of electrolyte and promotes the rapid transfer of ions/electrons.As a result,Nb_(2)C/rGO-2 as the anode of potassium ion batteries(KIBs)delivers a large reversible specific capacity(301.7 mAh·g^(−1)after 500 cycles at 2.0 A·g^(−1)),an ultrahigh rate capability(155.5 mAh·g^(−1)at 20 A·g^(−1)),and an excellent long-term large-current cycle stability(198.8 mAh·g^(−1)after 1,000 cycles at 10 A·g^(−1),with a retention of 83.3%).Such a high-level electrochemical performance,especially the ultrahigh rate capability,is the best among transition metal carbides and nitride(MXene)-based materials reported so far for KIBs.The diffusion kinetics of K+is investigated thoroughly,and the synergetic charge–discharge mechanism and the structure–performance relationship of Nb_(2)C/rGO are revealed explicitly.The present work provides a good strategy to solve the self-restacking problem of two-dimensional materials and also enlarges the potential applications of MXenes. | Cong Liu Zhitang Fang Xiaoge Li Jinhua Zhou Gang Yang Luming Peng Xuefeng Guo Weiping Ding Wenhua Hou | 2023 | Nano Research2023,16,2: | 1 |
