| 1 | High‐performance ZnO varistor ceramics prepared by arc‐induced flash sintering with low energy consumption at room temperature显示文摘The development of ultra‐high voltage transmission lines requires a ZnO arrester with excellent electrical response and high voltage gradient.Compared with conventional preparation methods,flash sintering allows fast production of novel high‐performance ZnO varistor ceramics with low energy consumption and controlled grain growth.Herein,ZnO varistor ceramics were prepared using the flash sintering method at an air pressure of 21 kPa for 60 s at 25℃.The results showed that the flash‐sintered samples had fine grains and reduced loss of volatile elements.Moreover,the voltage gradient,leakage current density,and non‐linear coefficient of the flash‐sintered varistor ceramics were significantly improved compared with those of conventionally sintered samples.Owing to the short preparation time and absence of a heating process,the energy consumption of the proposed flash sintering method was significantly reduced to 10%of that by conventional sintering.The proposed method is a promising approach for the preparation of ZnO arresters with excellent electrical properties and serves as an effective method that realises energy saving and emission reduction. | Angxuan Wu Zhixiang Zhu Xilin Wang Nianping Yan Hongyang Zhou Rongxia Huang Guoming Ma Zhidong Jia Liming Wang | 2022 | High Voltage2022,7,2: | 2 |

| 4 | Associations of insulin resistance and beta-cell function with abnormal lipid profile in newly diagnosed diabetes显示文摘Background:Abnormal lipids are strong predictors of cardiovascular disease in type 1 diabetes mellitus(T1DM)and type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM).However,the potential associations of insulin resistance(IR)and beta-cell function(BCF)with abnormal lipids in newly diagnosed T1DM or T2DM patients are not fully understood.Methods:A cross-sectional survey of 15,928 participants was conducted.Homeostasis model assessment and postprandial C-peptide levels were used to estimate IR and BCF.A restricted cubic spline(RCS)nested in binary logistic regression was used to examine the associations of IR and BCF with abnormal lipids.Results:High triglyceride(TG),low high-density lipoprotein cholesterol,and high low-density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C)accounted for 49.7%,47.8%,and 59.2%of the participants,respectively.In multivariable analysis,high IR was associated with an increased risk of high TGs(P for trend<0.001)in T1DM and is associated with an elevated risk of high TG and low HDL-C(all P for trend<0.01)in T2DM.Low BCF was not associated with risks of dyslipidemia in patients with T1DM or T2DM after adjustment for potential confounders.Conclusion:High IR had different associations with the risk of dyslipidemia in newly diagnosed T1DM and T2DM patients,suggesting that early treatment that improves IR may benefit abnormal lipid metabolism. | Xiaohan Tang Xiang Yan Houde Zhou Gan Huang Xiaohong Niu Hongwei Jiang Heng Su Xilin Yang Xia Li Zhiguang Zhou | 2022 | Chinese Medical Journal2022,135,21: | 1 |

| 8 | Carya cathayensis Leaf Extract Exerts Estrogenic Effects on Hepatic Lipogenesis and Adipocytes Differentiation in Ovariectomized Rats Fed Normal or High-fat Diets显示文摘Background:Our previous in vitro study has shown that total flavonoids from the leaves of Carya cathayensis exert estrogenic activities by promoting the expressions of ER��and ER��.C.cathayensis leaf extract(CCE)was rich in flavonoids.Oral administration of CCE reduced the serum lipids and hepatic lipids,alleviated liver steatosis in ovariectomized rats.Objective:To investigate whether CCE has estrogenic effects on reproductive tissue and influences lipid metabolism in ovariectomized rats,and whether CCE has a direct effect on regulation of lipid synthesis and/or oxidation and adipocyte differentiation of ovariectomized(OVX)rats.Methods:Female Sprague-Dawley rats were ovariectomized and treated with CCE or estradiol in combination with a normal diet(ND),a high-fat diet(HFD)for 8 weeks.Histological analysis of uterus were performed and the lipid metabolism-related enzyme activity were examined.Expression of liver lipogenesis-related genes,adipocyte differentiation-and fat accumulation-related genes and protein were measured.Rusults:Ovariectomy accelerated the uterine atrophy,development of dyslipidemia and hepatic steatosis,which were effectively mitigated by CCE supplementation.CCE significantly elevated ovariectomy-induced reduction in the cross-section area of the uterus and uterine glands.Compared with the OVX group,CCE increased the activities of lipoprtein lipase(LPL)and hepatic lipase(HL),decreased the hepatic mRNA expressions of Fas,Srebf1,Sla2a2,and increased Ppar��expressions at the mRNA levels under both ND and HFD conditions.CCE also decreased the Pck1 and G6pc mRNA expressions under HFD conditions,and show no significant effects on Hmgcr.The expressions of SREBF1,CEBPA and VEGF at the protein level were effectively regulated by CCE supplementation.Conclusion:CCE effectively alleviated ovariectomy-induced dyslipidemia and visceral fat accumulation by mod-ulating hepatic lipogenesis and adipocyte differentiation.Furthermore,CCE exhibited estrogenic activity for the prevention of postmenopausal fatty liver. | Xiwen Jia Simeng Guo Youling Huang Dongheng Zheng Yuqi Ding Xilin Qiao Zhishan Ding Yanfen Huang | 2023 | Clinical Complementary Medicine and Pharmacology2023,3,3: | 0 |
| 9 | Dielectric barrier discharge-based defect engineering method to assist flash sintering显示文摘Oxygen vacancy OV plays an important role in a flash sintering (FS) process. In defect engineering, the methods of creating oxygen vacancy defects include doping, heating, and etching, and all of them often have complex processes or equipment. In this study, we used dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) as a new defect engineering technology to increase oxygen vacancy concentrations of green billets with different ceramics (ZnO, TiO_(2), and 3 mol% yttria-stabilized zirconia (3YSZ)). With an alternating current (AC) power supply of 10 kHz, low-temperature plasma was generated, and a specimen could be treated in different atmospheres. The effect of the DBD treatment was influenced by atmosphere, treatment time, and voltage amplitude of the power supply. After the DBD treatment, the oxygen vacancy defect concentration in ZnO samples increased significantly, and a resistance test showed that conductivity of the samples increased by 2–3 orders of magnitude. Moreover, the onset electric field (E) of ZnO FS decreased from 5.17 to 0.86 kV/cm at room temperature (RT);while in the whole FS, the max power dissipation decreased from 563.17 to 27.94 W. The defect concentration and conductivity of the green billets for TiO_(2) and 3YSZ were also changed by the DBD, and then the FS process was modified. | 10 | Manipulating oxygenate adsorption on N-doped carbon by coupling with CoSn alloy for bifunctional oxygen electrocatalyst显示文摘Highly active bifunctional oxygen electrocatalysts accelerate the development of high-performance Zn-air battery,but suffer from the mismatched activities of oxygen evolution reaction(OER)and oxygen reduced reaction(ORR).Herein,highly integrated bifunctional oxygen electrocatalysts,cobalt-tin alloys coated by nitrogen doped carbon(CoSn@NC)are prepared by MOFs-derived method.In this hybrid catalyst,the binary CoSn nanoalloys mainly contribute to highly active OER process while the Co(or Sn)-N-C serves as ORR active sites.Rational interaction between CoSn and NC donates more rapid reaction kinetics than Pt/C(ORR)and IrO_(2)(OER).Such CoSn@NC holds a promise as air-cathode electrocatalyst in Zn-air battery,superior to Pt/C+IrO_(2)catalyst.First-principles calculations predict that CoSn alloys can upgrade charge redistribution on NC and promote the transfer to reactants,thus optimizing the adsorption strength of oxygen-containing intermediates to boost the overall reactivity.The tuning of oxygenate adsorption by interactions between alloy and heteroatom-doped carbon can guide the design of bifunctional oxygen electrocatalysts. | Chenlong Dong Xilin Zhang Shaoning Zhang Siwei Zhao Xueyu Lin Xin Wang Yajing Zhang Fuqiang Huang | 2023 | Green Energy & Environment2023,8,5: | 0 |
| 11 | Data reliability of the emerging citizen science in the Greater Bay Area of China显示文摘The potential of citizen science projects in research has been increasingly acknowledged,but the substantial engagement of these projects is restricted by the quality of citizen science data.Based on the largest emerging citizen science project in the country-Birdreport Online Database(BOD),we examined the biases of birdwatching data from the Greater Bay Area of China.The results show that the sampling effort is disparate among land cover types due to contributors’ preference towards urban and suburban areas,indicating the environment suitable for species existence could be underrepresented in the BOD data.We tested the contributors’ skill of species identification via a questionnaire targeting the citizen birders in the Greater Bay Area.The questionnaire show that most citizen birdwatchers could correctly identify the common species widely distributed in Southern China and the less common species with conspicuous morphological characteristics,while failed to identify the species from Alaudidae;Caprimulgidae,Emberizidae,Phylloscopidae,Scolopacidae and Scotocercidae.With a study example,we demonstrate that spatially clustered bird watching visits can cause underestimation of species richness in insufficiently sampled areas;and the result of species richness mapping is sensitive to the contributors’ skill of identifying bird species.Our results address how avian research can be influenced by the reliability of citizen science data in a region of generally high accessibility,and highlight the necessity of pre-analysis scrutiny on data reliability regarding to research aims at all spatial and temporal scales.To improve the data quality,we suggest to equip the data collection frame of BOD with a flexible filter for bird abundance,and questionnaires that collect information related to contributors’ bird identification skill.Statistic modelling approaches are encouraged to apply for correcting the bias of sampling effort. | Xilin Huang Yihong Wang Yang Liu Lyu Bing Zhang | 2023 | Avian Research2023,14,3: | 0 |
| 12 | Co_(3)O_(4)-ZnO/rGO catalyst preparation and rhodamine B degradation by sulfate radical photocatalysis显示文摘The development of a combined photocatalytic system with peroxymonosulfate (PMS) has great potential applications in the degradation and treatment of aqueous organic pollutants. Herein, a Co_(3)O_(4)-ZnO/rGO was prepared by a hydrothermal method using cobalt acetate, zinc acetate, and reduced graphene oxide (rGO) as the main raw materials. The physical and chemical characteristics of the obtained catalyst were analyzed using X-ray diffraction (XRD), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS),scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR). The photocatalytic features and capacities of the catalytic materials to activate PMS were investigated. Co_(3)O_(4)-ZnO/rGO exhibited stronger photocatalytic activity and ability to activate PMS than Co_(3)O_(4)/rGO or ZnO/rGO, and significantly improved the ability of PMS and photocatalysis to synergistically degrade rhodamine B (RhB), with a degradation rate of 90.40% within 40 min. The mechanism of RhB degradation was proposed based on characterization of materials, evaluation of RhB degradation efficiency, and analysis of the active species involved. The unique particle/sheet structure of Co_(3)O_(4)-ZnO/rGO provides a large number of active sites, and the formation of heterojunctions between Co_(3)O_(4) and ZnO improves carrier separation and transport in the reaction system. | 13 | Gas-discharge induced flash sintering of YSZ ceramics at room temperature显示文摘This is the first study to conduct the flash sintering of 3 mol%yttria-stabilized zirconia(3YSZ)ceramics at room temperature(25℃)under a strong electric field,larger than 1 kV/cm.At the standard atmospheric pressure(101 kPa),the probability of successful sintering is approximately half of that at low atmospheric pressure,lower than 80 kPa.The success of the proposed flash sintering process was determined based on the high electric arc performance at different atmospheric pressures ranging from 20 to 100 kPa.The 3YSZ samples achieved a maximum relative density of 99.5%with a grain size of~200 nm.The results showed that as the atmospheric pressure decreases,the onset electric field of flash sintering decreases,corresponding to the empirical formula of the flashover voltage.Moreover,flash sintering was found to be triggered by the surface flashover of ceramic samples,and the electric arc on the sample surfaces floated upward before complete flash sintering at overly high pressures,resulting in the failure of flash sintering.This study reveals a new method for the facile preparation of flash-sintered ceramics at room temperature,which will promote the application of flash sintering in the ceramic industry. | Yuchen ZHU Hongyang ZHOU Rongxia HUANG Nianping YAN Xilin WANG Guanghua LIU Zhidong JIA | 2022 | Journal of Advanced Ceramics2022,11,4: | 0 |
