1Enhanced secondary pollution offset reduction of primary emissions during COVID-19 lockdown in China显示文摘To control the spread of the 2019 novel coronavirus(COVID-19),China imposed nationwide restrictions on the movement of its population(lockdown)after the Chinese New Year of 2020,leading to large reductions in economic activities and associated emissions.Despite such large decreases in primary pollution,there were nonetheless several periods of heavy haze pollution in eastern China,raising questions about the well-established relationship between human activities and air quality.Here,using comprehensive measurements and modeling,we show that the haze during the COVID lockdown was driven by enhancements of secondary pollution.In particular,large decreases in NOx emissions from transportation increased ozone and nighttime NO_(3)radical formation,and these increases in atmospheric oxidizing capacity in turn facilitated the formation of secondary particulate matter.Our results,afforded by the tragic natural experiment of the COVID-19 pandemic,indicate that haze mitigation depends upon a coordinated and balanced strategy for controlling multiple pollutants.Xin Huang Aijun Ding Jian Gao Bo Zheng Derong Zhou Ximeng Qi Rong Tang Jiaping Wang Chuanhua Ren Wei Nie Xuguang Chi Zheng Xu Liangduo Chen Yuanyuan Li Fei Che Nini Pang Haikun Wang Dan Tong Wei Qin Wei Cheng Weijing Liu Qingyan Fu Baoxian Liu Fahe Chai Steven JDavis Qiang Zhang Kebin He 2021National Science Review2021,8,2:47
2Situation assessment for air combat based on novel semi-supervised naive Bayes显示文摘A method is proposed to resolve the typical problem of air combat situation assessment. Taking the one-to-one air combat as an example and on the basis of air combat data recorded by the air combat maneuvering instrument, the problem of air combat situation assessment is equivalent to the situation classification problem of air combat data. The fuzzy C-means clustering algorithm is proposed to cluster the selected air combat sample data and the situation classification of the data is determined by the data correlation analysis in combination with the clustering results and the pilots' description of the air combat process. On the basis of semi-supervised naive Bayes classifier, an improved algorithm is proposed based on data classification confidence, through which the situation classification of air combat data is carried out. 3Efficient large-universe multi-authority ciphertext-policy attribute-based encryption with white-box traceability显示文摘Traceable multi-authority ciphertext-policy attribute-based encryption(CP-ABE) is a practical encryption method that can achieve user traceability and fine-grained access control simultaneously. However, existing traceable multi-authority CP-ABE schemes have two main limitations that prevent them from practical applications. First, these schemes only support small universe: the attributes must be fixed at system setup and the attribute space is restricted to polynomial size. Second, the schemes are either less expressive(the access policy is limited to 'AND gates with wildcard') or inefficient(the system is constructed in composite order bilinear groups). To address these limitations, we present a traceable large universe multi-authority CP-ABE scheme, and further prove that it is statically secure in the random oracle model.Compared with existing traceable multi-authority CP-ABE schemes, the proposed scheme has four advantages. First, the attributes are not fixed at setup and the attribute universe is not bounded to polynomial size. Second, the ciphertext polices can be expressed as any monotone access structures. Third, the proposed scheme is constructed in prime order groups, which makes this scheme more efficient than those in composite order bilinear groups. 4Low-Complexity Secure Network Coding Against Wiretapping Using Intra/Inter-generation Coding显示文摘Existing solutions against wiretapping attacks for network coding either bring significant bandwidth overhead or incur a high computational complexity.In order to reduce the security overhead of the existing solutions for securing network coding,a novel securing network coding paradigm is presented relying on two coding models:intra-generation coding and inter-generation coding.The basic idea to secure network coding using intra-generation coding is to limit the encryption operations for each generation,and then subject the scrambled and the remaining original source vectors to a linear transformation.This method is then generalized seamlessly using inter-generation coding by further exploiting the algebraic structure of network coding.We show that the proposed schemes have properties of low-complexity security,little bandwidth consumption,and high efficiency in integrating with the existing security techniques effectively.LIU Guangjun LIU Binyue LIU Ximeng LI Fang GUO Wangmei 2015China Communications2015,12,6:9

6Complex interplay between formation routes and natural organic matter modification controls capabilities of C_(60)nanoparticles(nC_(60)) to accumulate organic contaminants显示文摘Accumulation of organic contaminants on fullerene nanoparticles(nC_(60)) may significantly affect the risks of C_(60) in the environment.The objective of this study was to further understand how the interplay of nC_(60) formation routes and humic acid modification affects contaminant adsorption of nC_(60).Specifically,adsorption of 1,2,4,5-tetrachlorobenzene(a model nonionic,hydrophobic organic contaminant) on nC_(60) was greatly affected by nC_(60)formation route- the formation route significantly affected the aggregation properties of nC_(60),thus affecting the available surface area and the extent of adsorption via the pore-filling mechanism.Depending on whether nC_(60) was formed via the 'top-down' route(i.e.,sonicating C_(60) powder in aqueous solution) or 'bottom-up' route(i.e.,phase transfer from an organic solvent) and the type of solvent involved(toluene versus tetrahydrofuran),modification of nC_(60) with Suwannee River humic acid(SRHA) could either enhance or inhibit the adsorption affinity of nC_(60).The net effect depended on the specific way in which SRHA interacted with C_(60) monomers and/or C_(60) aggregates of different sizes and morphology,which determined the relative importance of enhanced adsorption from SRHA modification via preventing C_(60) aggregation and inhibited adsorption through blocking available adsorption sites.The findings further demonstrate the complex mechanisms controlling interactions between nC_(60) and organic contaminants,and may have significant implications for the life-cycle analysis and risk assessment of C_(60).Lei Hou John D.Fortner Ximeng Wang Chengdong Zhang Lilin Wang Wei Chen 2017Journal of Environmental Sciences2017,29,1:5

10Unfolding the fast neutron spectra of a BC501A liquid scintillation detector using GRAVEL method显示文摘Accurate knowledge of the neutron energy spectra is useful in basic research and applications. The overall procedure of measuring and unfolding the fast neutron energy spectra with BC501 A liquid scintillation detector is described. The recoil proton spectrum of 241Am-Be neutrons was obtained experimentally. With the NRESP7 code, the response matrix of detector was simulated.Combining the recoil proton spectrum and response matrix, the unfolding of neutron spectra was performed by GRAVEL iterative algorithm. A MatLab program based on the GRAVEL method was developed. The continuous neutron spectrum of 241Am-Be source and monoenergetic neutron spectrum of D-T source have been unfolded successfully and are in good agreement with their standard reference spectra. 11Design strategies for MOF-derived porous functional materials: Preserving surfaces and nurturing pores显示文摘MOFs are among the most popular precursors and templates for deriving various porous materials,where the derivatives can inherit a large surface area,abundant active sites for targeted functionalities and a high degree of porosity inherited from their parent MOFs.Those unique structural features make them promising candidates in multiple applications.More interestingly,the structure and properties of these MOF derivatives can be modulated by the choice of the parent MOFs and the design in the conversion process.In this overview,the transformation pathways from MOFs into their porous derivatives,the principles underlying these transformations,and the behavior of the MOF components in the transition process are discussed.Recently,there has been tremendous progress in preserving and enhancing the surface area,the amount of active sites and the level of porosity of the MOF-derived materials for targeted applications,from the perspectives of both customizing the parent MOFs and tailoring the transformation process.To develop the rationally designed MOF-derived materials and thus to elucidate the precursor-process-product correlations,some typical examples of the MOF derivatives applied in electrochemical energy storage and conversion,water treatment,gas sensing,and biomedicine are discussed to demonstrate the effectiveness of the key design strategies.Ximeng Liu Lei Zhang John Wang 2021Journal of Materiomics2021,7,3:2
12A framework for mixed-use decomposition based on temporal activity signatures extracted from big geo-data显示文摘Mixed use has been extensively applied as an urban planning principle and hinders the study of single urban functions.To address this problem,it is worth decomposing the mixed use.Inspired by the concept of spectral unmixing in remote sensing applications,this paper proposes a framework for mixed-use decomposition based on big geo-data.Mixeduse decomposition in terms of human activities differs from traditional land use research,and it is more reasonable to infer the actual urban function of land.The framework consists of four steps,namely temporal activity signature extraction,urban function base curve extraction,mixeduse decomposition,and result validation.First,the temporal activity signatures(TASs)of each zone are extracted as the proxy of human activity patterns.Second,the diurnal TASs of routine activities are extracted as urban function base curves(i.e.endmembers).Third,a linear decomposition model is used to decompose the mixed use and obtain multiple results(urban function composition,dynamic activity proportions,and the mixing index).Finally,result validation strategies are concluded.This framework offers method extensibility and has few requirements for the input data.It is validated by means of a case study of Beijing,based on a social media check-in dataset.Lun Wu Ximeng Cheng Chaogui Kang Di Zhu Zhou Huang Yu Liu 2020International Journal of Digital Earth2020,13,6:2
13Electrochromic-Induced Rechargeable Aqueous Batteries: An Integrated Multifunctional System for Cross-Domain Applications显示文摘Multifunctional electrochromic-induced rechargeable aqueous batteries(MERABs) integrate electrochromism and aqueous ion batteries into one platform, which is able to deliver the conversion and storage of photo-thermal-electrochemical sources.Aqueous ion batteries compensate for the drawbacks of slow kinetic reactions and unsatisfied storage capacities of electrochromic devices. On the other hand, electrochromic technology can enable dynamically regulation of solar light and heat radiation. However,MERABs still face several technical issues, including a trade-off between electrochromic and electrochemical performance, low conversion efficiency and poor service life. In this connection, novel device configuration and electrode materials, and an optimized compatibility need to be considered for multidisciplinary applications. In this review,the unique advantages, key challenges and advanced applications are elucidated in a timely and comprehensive manner. Firstly, the prerequisites for effective integration of the working mechanism and device configuration, as well as the choice of electrode materials are examined. Secondly, the latest advances in the applications of MERABs are discussed, including wearable, self-powered, integrated systems and multisystem conversion. 14Auto-scalable and fault-tolerant load balancing mechanism for cloud computing based on the proof-of-work election显示文摘Load balancing mechanism in technologies such as cloud computing has provided a huge opportunity for the development of large-scale projects.Although the conventional view is to build mechanisms that adopt a dynamic load balancing strategy,existing strategies cannot automatically scale platform(network)servers(nodes)to adapt for dynamic requests,but only guarantee load balancing for the pre-deployed nodes,thereby increasing resource consumption and decreasing networks’efficiency.We contend that existing load balancing mechanisms are inadequate for deploying dynamic applications.In this regard,we first adopt both load balancing and cloud computing virtualization technologies to modularly design a load balancing mechanism that provides a dynamically auto-scalable solution for large-scale and dynamic computing scenarios.Furthermore,we adopt the proof-of-work consensus,for a novel use during the lifecycle of master nodes in case of system failure caused by a failed master node,to demonstrate a fault-tolerant load balancing mechanism.We theoretically evaluate the security requirement of our mechanism and analyze its performance.Experimental results show that the mechanism supports auto-scalability and has a better performance compared to existing mechanisms such as the ordinary cluster.Xiaoqin FENG Jianfeng MA Shaobin LIU Yinbin MIAO Ximeng LIU 2022Science China(Information Sciences)2022,65,1:2

18AWI-BS: An adaptive weight incentive for blockchain sharding显示文摘The sharding technique enables blockchain to process transactions in parallel by dividing blockchain nodes into small groups,each of which handles a subset of all transactions.One of the issues with blockchain sharding is generating a large number of cross-shard transactions that need to be checked on the output shard as well as the destination shard.Our analysis suggests that the processing efficiency of cross-shard transactions is consistent with the barrel effect,i.e.,that efficiency is more dependent on slower processing shard.Most of the existing studies focus on how to deal with cross-shard transactions,but neglecting the fact that the relative independence between sharding results in different incentive costs between sharding.We perform a sharding analysis on 100,000 real transactions data on Ethereum,and the results show that there is a large difference in gas prices between different shards indeed.In this paper,we propose an Adaptive Weight Incentive(AWI)for Blockchain Sharding,which uses adaptive weight in place of traditional incentive,to address the problem of differing incentive costs for each shard.Take Ethereum as an example,AWI-BS computes the weight of a transaction as a function of a combination of the underlying gas price,the latency of the transaction,and the urgency of the transaction.Then the node chooses which transaction to pack based on the AWI-BS.Lastly,we also perform an in-depth analysis of AWI-BS's security and effectiveness.The evaluation indicates that AWI-BS outperforms the other alternatives in terms of transaction confirmation latency,transaction hit rate,and system throughput.Zuobin Ying Laican Song Deng Chen Wusong Lan Ximeng Liu 2023Journal of Information and Intelligence2023,1,2:1

20VKSE-MO: verifiable keyword search over encrypted data in multi-owner settings显示文摘Searchable encryption(SE) techniques allow cloud clients to easily store data and search encrypted data in a privacy-preserving manner, where most of SE schemes treat the cloud server as honest-but-curious.However, in practice, the cloud server is a semi-honest-but-curious third-party, which only executes a fraction of search operations and returns a fraction of false search results to save its computational and bandwidth resources. Thus, it is important to provide a results verification method to guarantee the correctness of the search results. Existing SE schemes allow multiple data owners to upload different records to the cloud server,but these schemes have very high computational and storage overheads when applied in a different but more practical setting where each record is co-owned by multiple data owners. To address this problem, we develop a verifiable keyword search over encrypted data in multi-owner settings(VKSE-MO) scheme by exploiting the multisignatures technique. Thus, our scheme only requires a single index for each record and data users are assured of the correctness of the search results in challenging settings. Our formal security analysis proved that the VKSE-MO scheme is secure against a chosen-keyword attack under a random oracle model.
