| 1 | Heat-induced Internal Strain Relaxation and its Effect on the Microstructure of Polyacrylonitrile-based Carbon Fiber显示文摘The transformation of the internal strain and its effect on the microstructure of polyacrylonitrile-based carbon fiber during the high-temperature graphitization were investigated.The internal compressive strain within the carbon turbostratic structure was confirmed through a careful analysis by wide-angle X-ray diffraction and Raman spectroscopy.Heat-induced strain/stress relaxation along the fiber axis was observed and was found to have a profound effect on the structure of both the crystallites and microvoids.The results indicated that,the relaxation of residual strain changed the graphite layers from a wrinkled and distorted morphology to a straight and smooth one,and consequently led the crystallites to stack closely and orderly with increasing stack height.The strain relaxation also changed the morphology of crystallites and microvoids,resulting in an anisotropic growth for the latters. | Denghua Li Chunxiang Lu Gangping Wu Yu Yang Zhihai Feng Xiutao Li Feng An Baoping Zhang | 2014 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2014,30,10: | 5 |

| 3 | Ultra-wide-dynamic-range gas sensing by optical pathlength multiplexed absorption spectroscopy显示文摘Laser absorption spectroscopy(LAS) has become the most widely used laser spectroscopic technique for gas detection due to its capability of accurate quantification and straightforward operation. However, since resolving weak absorption and averting over-absorption are always mutually exclusive, the dynamic range of the LAS-based gas sensor is limited and insufficient for many applications in fundamental study and industry. To overcome the limitation on the dynamic range, this article reports optical pathlength(OPL) multiplexed absorption spectroscopy using a gas cell having multiple internal reflections. It organically fuses together the transmission and reflection operation modes: the former directly uses the entire OPL of the gas cell, while the latter interrogates different internal short OPLs by optical interferometry, yielding >100-fold OPL variation. The achieved dynamic range is more than 6 orders of magnitude that surpasses other LAS techniques by 2–3 orders of magnitude. | 8 | Heat Insulation and Dissipation Processes in Nordic Seas in the Summer显示文摘The Nordic Seas have a significant impact on the climate system.Here 23-day air-sea heat fluxes were analyzed from an in situ air-sea coupled buoy deployed in the Lofoten Basin from 5 August 2012 to 27 August 2012.The buoy captured two stages of strong south and north winds.The observations indicate that warm and wet air transported by the south wind can lead to decreased sensible and latent heat fluxes and net longwave radiation.The total oceanic heat loss was 50-60Wm−2.Thus,this stage was called the heat insulation process.By contrast,the heat dissipation process occurred with the north wind condition dur-ing advection of the cold and dry air.During this process,sensible and latent heat fluxes and net longwave radiation notably in-creased.The total oceanic heat loss during the heat dissipation process reached 240Wm−2,which was four-fold greater than that in the heat insulation process.Given that the heat insulation process is dominant in summertime,the ocean lost minimal heat but absorbed strong solar energy.Thus,a large quantity of energy was stored in the ocean.Heat was transported to the Arctic Ocean and accelerated Arctic warming.The heat dissipation process is dominant in autumn and winter when the ocean releases consid-erably more energy.The two processes revealed in this paper can be applied to warm-water areas in high latitudes. | GAO Lin ZHAO Jinping LI Shimin FAN Xiutao LIU Shixuan | 2021 | Journal of Ocean University of China2021,20,6: | 1 |

| 13 | Regulation of Reproduction in Delayed Gametophyte of Saccharina japonica (Laminariales, Phaeophyceae): Effects of Light Intensity, Quality and Photoperiod显示文摘Saccharina japonica gametophytes can survive a long period under unfavorable environmental conditions,while they also delay in growth and/or reproduction.Although the reproduction in delayed gametophyte of S.japonica was known to be strongly influenced by light intensity,light quality,and photoperiod,no previous studies have evaluated their interactive effects on gametogenesis.To evaluate these effects,we used an orthogonal experiment to expose delayed gametophytes of S.japonica to different light intensities,light qualities,and photoperiods for 12 days.The results showed that changes in light intensity rather than light quality and photoperiod significantly affected the relative growth rates of the delayed gametophytes.Blue light had the greatest promotion on reproduction rate.The optimal light conditions in the early vegetative growth phase in gametogenesis induction for the delayed gametophytes were at 60–80μmol photons m^(−2) s^(−1) with daylength of 12 or 16 hours under white or blue light.When the delayed gametophytes were maintained in a constant light condition from delayed state to gametogenesis,the beneficial photoperiods for vegetative growth and reproductive rate were both 16L(16 hours of light):8D(8 hours of dark).However,when the delayed S.japonica gametophytes achieve the optimal growth state during the first 6 days and then they were cultured at different light conditions for the following 6 days,the reproduction rate increased as the daylength decreased and attained a peak value in group of 8L:16D photoperiod,indicating that photoperiod adjustment at the transition period is crucial in the gametogenesis induction process of delayed gametophyte of S.japonica. | WANG Xiao LIANG Zhourui LIU Fuli ZHANG Pengyan YUAN Yanmin LIU Yi WANG Wenjun SUN Xiutao | 2023 | Journal of Ocean University of China2023,22,1: | 0 |

| 17 | Gas sensing with 7-decade dynamic range by laser vector spectroscopy combining absorption and dispersion显示文摘Laser absorption spectroscopy(LAS) has been widely used for unambiguous detection and accurate quantification of gas species in a diverse range of fields. However, up-to-date LAS-based gas sensors still face challenges in applications where gas concentrations change in a wide range, since it is extremely difficult to balance spectral analysis strategies for different optical thicknesses. Here we present laser vector spectroscopy that combines absorption spectroscopy with dispersion spectroscopy, simultaneously taking advantage of the former's high sensitivity in the low-concentration region and the latter's high linearity in the high-concentration region. In the proof-of-concept demonstration of acetylene measurement, it achieves a linear dynamic range of 6 × 10^(7)(R^(2)> 0.9999), which surpasses all other state-of-the-art LAS techniques by more than an order of magnitude,with the capability of highly accurate quantification retained.
