1Soil Erosion Changes over the Past Five Decades in the Red Soil Region of Southern China显示文摘This paper reports the dynamic changes of soil and water loss in the red soil region of Southern China since the 1950s. The red soil region covers eight provinces: Jiangxi, Zhejiang, Fujian, Anhui, Hubei, Hunan, Guangdong and Hainan. From the 1950s to 1986, the annual rate of soil erosion increased by 3.4%. From 1986 to 1996 and from 1996 to 2000, the annual rates of soil erosion decreased by 2.0% and 0.32%, respectively. Field surveys showed that from 2000 to 2005, the area of soil and water loss decreased annually by 1.2%. This decrease was a result of large-scale erosion control activities across China. Although the eroded soil has been restored, the restoration process is very slow and full restoration will take a long time. 2New-type urbanization in China: Predicted trends and investment demand for 2015-2030显示文摘The future development of new-type urbanization has drawn great attention from both the government and public alike. In this context, the present study had three related research aims. Firstly, it sought to predict the urbanization and population dynamics in China at both national and provincial levels for the period of 2015 to 2030. Secondly, on this basis, it sought to examine the spatial variation of urbanization given the predicted national urbanization rate of 70.12%. Thirdly, it sought to estimate and evaluate the national and provincial demands of investment in the development of new-type urbanization. The main conclusions from this study were as follows:(1) The population size and urbanization rate will reach 1.445 billion and 70.12%, respectively, from 2015 to 2030.(2) The demographic dividend will vanish when the population pressure reaches its maximum. During this period, there will be 70.16 million urban population born. The suburban population that becomes urbanized will be 316.7 million, and thus the net increase in urban population will reach 386 million.(3) Although the urbanization rate of every Chinese province will increase during 2015–2030, it will do so unequally, while differences in urbanization quality among provinces will also be substantial. In some provinces, moreover, the urbanization quality is not compatible with their eco-social development.(4) A total of 4,105,380 billion yuan is required to fund new-type urbanization and the investment demand for each province varies greatly; for example, Guangdong province requires the most funding, amounting to approximately 148 times that required by Tibet, the province in least need of funding. 3Single-layer Rh nanosheets with ultrahigh peroxidase-like activity for colorimetric biosensing显示文摘When the dimensionality of layered compounds decreases to the physical limit, ultimate two-dimensional (2D)anisotropy and/or quantum confinement effects may lead to extraordinary physicochemical attributes.Here,we report single-layer Rh nanosheets (NSs)exhibiting ultrahigh peroxidase-like activity,far exceeding that of horseradish peroxidase (HRP)and of most known layered nanomaterialbased peroxidase mimics.Considering per NS as an active subunit,the Rh NSs displayed a catalytic rate constant (Kcat)as high as 4.45×10^5 s^-1to H2O2,two orders of magnitude higher than those of HRP and Rh nanoparticles.The high atom efficiency of the Rh NSs can be attributed to the full exposure of surface-active Rh atoms,which greatly facilitates electron transfer and formation of superoxide anions,representing reactive oxygen species in the catalytic process.As a proof- of-concept application,the Rh NSs were successfully used as peroxidase mimics for the colorimetric detection of H2O2 and xanthine,with high sensitivity and selectivity.Moreover,a simple,rapid,and sensitive Rh-based paper sensor for ascorbic acid was also developed.In summar^this work provides a novel example of single-layer metallic NSs for biosensing.Shuangfei Cai Wei Xiao Haohong Duan Xixi Liang Chen Wang Rong Yang Yadong Li 2018Nano Research2018,11,12:3
4ANALYSIS OF SOIL EROSION CHARACTERISTICS AND SEDIMENT SOURCES FOR THE YANTZE THREE GORGES REGION显示文摘In this paper the researches made in 1981-1990 have identified that the annual soil loss in the Three Gorges region is 157 million t. and the annual incoming sediment load of the Three Gorges reservoir is 40 million t. Soil erosion increases with the destruction of vegetative cover and its subsequent evolution. The annual amounts of sediment erosion for forest land, shrub land, grassland and farmland make up respectively 6.19%, 10.76%, 23.05% and 60% of the total erosion of the Three Gorges region; the quantities of incoming sediment load to the Yangtze River from the above four types of land account for 5.95%, 12.42%, 35.46% and 46.1 % of the total amount of sediment transported to the reservoir. The farmland of offers the main source of sediment. Gravitational erosion produces more bed loads, which will present serious threat to the Three Gorges Project if entering the reservoir. Resettlement of people to the upper parts of the mountainous areas for agricultural production will increase the sediment yield of the Three Gorges region by 10-20 million t and increase the incoming sediment of the Yangtze River by 50-60 million t. 5Leptobrachium bompu(Amphibia,Anura,Megophryidae)Discovered in Upper Medog,Tibet,China with Descriptions of its Tadpoles,Advertisement Calls and Systematic Position显示文摘Leptobrachium bompu Sondhi and Ohler, 2011 was described based on a single specimen collected from Eaglenest in southern slope of Himalaya(holotype: No. KA0001/200905). In April, 2014, seven adults and three tadpoles of Leptobrachium bompu were collected from upper Medog, Tibet, China since most the morphological characters of the adult frogs matched the species Leptobrachium bompu, while the tadpoles mentioned above were determined as the same species as the adults by molecular systematics analysis. Three types of iris coloration were found in the seven adult specimens and two types of spiraculum in the three tadpoles. Advertisement calls usually had 6-8 notes and the fundamental frequency ranged from 1076 to 1466 Hz. 8A pH-responsive mesoporous silica nanoparticles-based drug delivery system with controlled release of andrographolide for OA treatment显示文摘Andrographolide(AG)has favorable anti-inflammatory and antioxidative capacity.However,it has low bioavailability due to high lipophilicity and can be easily cleared by the synovial fluid after intra-articular injection,leading to low therapeutic efficiency in osteoarthritis(OA).Herein,we designed a nano-sized pH-responsive drug delivery system(DDS)for OA treatment by using modified mesoporous silica nanoparticles(MSNs)with pH-responsive polyacrylic acid(PAA)for loading of AG to form AG@MSNs-PAA nanoplatform.The nanoparticles have uniform size(120 nm),high drug loading efficiency(22.3860.71%)and pH-responsive properties,beneficial to sustained release in OA environment.Compared with AG,AG@MSNs-PAA showed enhanced antiarthritic efficacy and chondro-protective capacity based on IL-1b-stimulated chondrocytes and anterior cruciate ligament transection-induced rat OA model,as demonstrated by lower expression of inflammatory factors and better prevention of proteoglycan loss.Therefore,the AG@MSNs-PAA nanoplatform may be developed as a promising OA-specific and on-demand DDS.Mingwei He Zainen Qin Xiaonan Liang Xixi He Bikang Zhu Zhenhui Lu Qingjun Wei Li Zheng 2021Regenerative Biomaterials2021,8,4:1
9In/ex-situ Raman spectra combined with EIS for observing interface reactions between Ni-rich layered oxide cathode and sulfide electrolyte显示文摘The interfacial instability between Ni-rich layered oxide cathodes and sulfide electrolytes is a serious problem,leading to poor electrochemical properties of all-solid-state lithium batteries(ASSLB).The chemical/electrochemical side reactions are considered to be the origin of the interfacial deterioration.However,the influence of chemical and electrochemical side reactions on the interfacial deterioration is rarely studied specifically.In this work,the deterioration mechanism of the interface between LiNi0.85-xCo0.15AlxO2 and Li10GeP2S12 is investigated in detail by combining in/ex-situ Raman spectra and Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy(EIS).It can be determined that chemical side reaction between LiNi0.8Co0.15Al0.05O2 and Li10GeP2S12 will occur immediately once contacted,and the interfacial deterioration becomes more serious after charge-discharge process under the dual effects of chemical and electrochemical side reactions.Moreover,our research reveals that the interfacial stability and the cycle performance of ASSLB can be greatly enhanced by increasing Al-substitution for Ni in LiNi0.85-xCo0.15AlxO2.In particular,the capacity retention of LiNi0.6Co0.15Al0.25O2 cathode after 200 cycles can reach 81.9%,much higher than that of LiNi0.8Co0.15Al0.05O2 cathode(12.5%@200 cycles).This work gives an insight to study the interfacial issues between Ni-rich layered oxide cathode and sulfide electrolyte for ASSLBs.Xuelei Li Huilan Guan Zhijie Ma Ming Liang Dawei Song Hongzhou Zhang Xixi Shi Chunliang Li Lifang Jiao Lianqi Zhang 2020Journal of Energy Chemistry2020,29,9:1

15Exploring the mechanism of Ta_(3)N_(5)/KTaO_(3) photocatalyst for overall water splitting by first-principles calculations显示文摘The rational fabrication of heterostructures is one of efficient strategies for improving photocatalytic performance of semiconductor photocatalysts.Very recently,Domen and co-workers found that Ta_(3)N_(5) single crystals grown on the surface of KTaO_(3) can accomplish photocatalytic overall water splitting for the first time.In order to comprehend the underlying mechanism of this photocatalytic system,we have performed a systematic study based on density functional theory first-principles calculations.Ta_(3)N_(5)(010)/KTaO_(3)(110)slab models have been built according to experimental observations by considering two common terminations of KTaO_(3)(110)surface,named as Ta_(3)N_(5)/O_(2) and Ta_(3)N_(5)/KTaO.The formations of interfacial bonds are thermodynamically stable,showing a covalent interaction between two components of a heterostructure.Ta_(3)N_(5)/O_(2) has a higher mobility of photogenerated charge carriers and lower recombination rate of charge carriers than Ta_(3)N_(5)/KTaO.The light absorption of heterostructures displays the feature of KTaO_(3) in the short wavelength region and the characteristic of Ta_(3)N_(5) in the long wavelength region.The calculated band offsets show that Ta_(3)N_(5)/O_(2) and Ta_(3)N_(5)/KTaO have distinct Type-II band alignments,with Ta_(3)N_(5) as the accumulator of photoinduced electrons in the former and the collector of photogenerated holes in the latter,respectively.The difference in charge density and electrostatic potential between two components acts as a driving force to promote the transfer of electrons and holes to different domains of the interface,which is beneficial to extend the lifetime of photoinduced carriers.Our results demonstrate that the function of Ta_(3)N_(5) in Ta_(3)N_(5)/KTaO_(3) photocatalytic system is determined by the termination property of KTaO_(3)(110)surface,which provides a likely reason of the observed photocatalytic activity of overall water splitting achieved by Ta_(3)N_(5) synthesized by using KTaO_(3) as a precursor for the nitridation reaction.Yanxia Ma Yumeng Fo Miaomiao Wang Xixi Liang Hao Dong Xin Zhou 2021Journal of Energy Chemistry2021,30,5:0

18A novel variant in the GJB6 gene in a large Chinese family with a unique phenotype of Clouston syndrome显示文摘Clouston syndrome(OMIM#129500),also known as hidrotic ectodermal dysplasia type 2,is a rare autosomal dominant skin disorder.To date,four mutations in the GJB6 gene,G11R,V37E,A88V,and D50N,have been confirmed to cause this condition.In previous studies,the focus has been mainly on gene sequencing,and there has been a lack of research on clinical manifestations and pathogenesis.To confirm the diagnosis of this pedigree at the molecular level and summarize and analyse the clinical phenotype of patients and to provide a basis for further study of the pathogenesis of the disease,we performed whole-exome and Sanger sequencing on a large Chinese Clouston syndrome pedigree.Detailed clinical examination included histopathology,hair microscopy,and scanning electron microscopy.We found a novel heterozygous missense variant(c.134G>C:p.G45A)for Clouston syndrome.We identified a new clinical phenotype involving all nail needling pain in all patients and found a special honeycomb hole structure in the patients’hair under scanning electron microscopy.Our data reveal that a novel variant(c.134G>C:p.G45A)plays a likely pathogenic role in this pedigree and highlight that genetic testing is necessary for the diagnosis of Clouston syndrome.Hequn Huang Mengyun Chen Xia Liu Xixi Xiong Lanbo Zhou Zhonglan Su Yan Lu Bo Liang 2023Frontiers of Medicine2023,17,2:0

20Introduction of nanotwins into nanoprecipitations strengthened CoCrNiMo_(0.2) alloy to achieve strength and ductility trade-off:A comparative research显示文摘Normal strengthening methods through precipitations and deformation obviously enhance the strength of metallic materials while resulting in the sacrifice of ductility,and synergistic improvement of strength and ductility is currently an urgent requirement.Herein we developed a cryogenic deformation combined with an annealing method to fabricate CoCrNiMo_(0.2) medium entropy alloy,which achieved an ultrahigh strength of 1.8 GPa with synergistic improvement in strength and ductility.Microstructure,mechanical performance,and strengthening mechanisms of the developed alloys were investigated compared with that prepared by the regular room temperature deformation method.It was found that high-density nanotwins were produced in CoCrNiMo_(0.2) MEA via cryogenic deformation.Fine grains,hard precipitations,and high volume fraction of nanotwins greatly strengthened the alloy,obtaining a yield and ultimate tensile strength of 1400 MPa and 1800 MPa.Ductility improvement of the developed alloy was mainly attributed to the production of deformation nanotwins due to the lower stacking fault energy,which greatly increases the dislocation storage ability,and thus,the ductility of the alloy was enhanced.Hao Zhang Ziyi Ren Yonggang Tong Yongle Hu Xixi Ji Lingwei Yang Kaiming Wang Jingzhong Fang Hui Chen Xiubing Liang 2023Journal of Materials Science & Technology2023,,25:0
