| 1 | Deferoxamine promotes recovery of traumatic spinal cord injury by inhibiting ferroptosis显示文摘Ferroptosis is an iron-dependent novel cell death pathway. Deferoxamine, a ferroptosis inhibitor, has been reported to promote spinal cord injury repair. It has yet to be clarified whether ferroptosis inhibition represents the mechanism of action of Deferoxamine on spinal cord injury recovery. A rat model of Deferoxamine at thoracic 10 segment was established using a modified Allen's method. Ninety 8-week-old female Wistar rats were used. Rats in the Deferoxamine group were intraperitoneally injected with 100 mg/kg Deferoxamine 30 minutes before injury. Simultaneously, the Sham and Deferoxamine groups served as controls. Drug administration was conducted for 7 consecutive days. The results were as follows:(1) Electron microscopy revealed shrunken mitochondria in the spinal cord injury group.(2) The Basso, Beattie and Bresnahan locomotor rating score showed that recovery of the hindlimb was remarkably better in the Deferoxamine group than in the spinal cord injury group.(3) The iron concentration was lower in the Deferoxamine group than in the spinal cord injury group after injury.(4) Western blot assay revealed that, compared with the spinal cord injury group, GPX4, xCT, and glutathione expression was markedly increased in the Deferoxamine group.(5) Real-time polymerase chain reaction revealed that, compared with the Deferoxamine group, mRNA levels of ferroptosis-related genes Acyl-CoA synthetase family member 2(ACSF2) and iron-responsive element-binding protein 2(IREB2) were up-regulated in the Deferoxamine group.(6) Deferoxamine increased survival of neurons and inhibited gliosis. These findings confirm that Deferoxamine can repair spinal cord injury by inhibiting ferroptosis. | 3 | Hyperpolarization activated cation current (If) in cardiac myocytes from pulmonary vein sleeves in the canine with atrial fibrillation显示文摘Objective To investigate the characteristics of ectopic automaticity and cation current (If) of cardiac myocytes from pulmonary vein sleeves (PVs) in canines with atrial fibrillation. Methods The canines (8–10 years old) were subjected to long-term, rapid atrial pacing (RAP) for 10 weeks, which induced the atrial fibrillation model. Disassociation of PVs of canines yielded single cardiac myocytes from a Landengorff column. Action potential, If and hyperpolarisation activated cyclic nucleotide-gated (HCN) currents were measured with the patch-clamp technique. Results Compared with the control group, cardiac myocytes from the RAP canine PVs had spontaneous diastolic depolarization, shorter action potential duration, and larger If densities. In the group of RAP cells, the half maximal activation potential (V1/2) was found to be less negative (��105.5 ±5.2 mV) compared to control cells (��87.3 ±4.9 mV). Current densities of If were increased significantly by β-adrenergic receptor stimulation with isoproterenol and caused an acceleration of current activation. In contrast, If currents in the RAP were reduced by carvedilol, a selective beta-adrenergic receptor. Another important finding is that HCN4-based channels may make a significant contribution to If in PVs cells, but not HCN2. Meanwhile, HCN4 current significantly increases in canine PVs cardiac myocytes with RAP. | 6 | Effects of biochar amendments on soil water retention characteristics of red soil at south China显示文摘Biochar has been extensively used for the improvement of soil water retention.However,the effects of various biochars were not well determined.The objectives of this study were to investigate the effects of three biochars[biochars made from bamboo(Bambusaceae),rice straw(Oryza sativa),and tobacco stem(Nicotiana L.)]on soil physical properties and the water retention characteristics of red soil at southeast China.The air-dried soil samples were mixed with ratios of 2%,5%,and 10%(w w^(−1))BC(bamboo biochar),RC(rice straw biochar),and TC(tobacco biochar),respectively,and evaluated for changes in soil bulk density(BD),soil saturated water content,field capacity,capillary porosity and soil hygroscopic coefficient.The results showed that BD decreased significantly with the application of the three types of biochar,total soil porosity and capillary porosity increased with the increase of the biochar ratio.The soil hygroscopic coefficient,wilting moisture capacity,saturated water content,and field capacity were significantly affected by the application of the three types of biochar.Compared with the other two treatments,the BC showed the best effects on soil water characteristics.BC treatments with addition ratios of 2%,5%,and 10%significantly decreased BD by 6.55%,18.03%,and 36.07%,respectively.Moreover,saturated water content and field capacity were increased by BC.BC treatments significantly increased the readily available water by 32.65%,42.49%,and 50.01%,respectively.However,the increased non-readily available water induced by the high ratio of biochar addition was not easily utilized by plants.Our results suggested that the biochar amendment can improve soil structure,decrease soil BD,boost soil porosity and capillary porosity,and increase soil moisture constant,and 2-5% of BC was recommended in the field condition. | Zhuangzhuang Qian Luozhong Tang Shunyao Zhuang Yan Zou Delong Fu Xue Chen | 2020 | Biochar2020,2,4: | 7 |

A Si-based micro-detonator is designed and fabricated, which meets the requirement of MEMS safety and arming device. The firing sensitivity of micro-detonator is tested according to GJB/z377A-94 sensitivity test methods:Langlie. The function time of micro-detonator is measured using wire probe and photoelectric transducer. The result shows the average firing voltage is 6.4 V when the discharge capacitance of firing electro-circuit is 33 mF. And the average function time is 5.48 ms. | 9 | Precipitation and evolution of nodular graphite during solidification process of ductile iron显示文摘The quantity and morphology of spheroidal graphite have an important effect on the properties of ductile iron, and the characteristics of spheroidal graphite are determined by the solidification process. The aim of this work is to explore the precipitation and evolution of graphite nodules in hypoeutectic, eutectic, and hypereutectic ductile irons by thermal analysis, liquid quenching and metallographic technique. Results show that hypoeutectic ductile iron has the longest solidification time and the lowest eutectic temperature;eutectic ductile iron has the shortest solidification time;hypereutectic ductile iron has the highest eutectic temperature. After solidification is completed, hypoeutectic ductile iron has the lowest nodule count, nodularity and graphite fraction;eutectic ductile iron has the highest nodule count, nodularity and the smallest nodule diameter;hypereutectic has the highest nodule diameter and graphite fraction. The nucleation and growth of graphite nodules in hypereutectic ductile iron starts before bulk eutectic crystallization stage, however, the precipitation and evolution of graphite nodules of hypoeutectic and eutectic ductile irons mainly occur in the eutectic crystallization stage. The graphite precipitated in eutectic crystallization of hypoeutectic, eutectic, and hypereutectic ductile irons, are 61%, 68% and 43% of total graphite volume fraction, respectively. Simultaneously, there are plenty of austenite dendrites in hypoeutectic and hypereutectic ductile irons, which are prone to shrinkage defects. In this study, a self-powered breath analyzer based on polyaniline/polyvinylidene fluoride(PANI/PVDF) piezogas-sensing arrays has been developed for potential detection of several internal diseases. The device works by converting exhaled breath energy into piezoelectric gassensing signals without any external power sources. The five sensing units in the device have different sensitivities to various gas markers with concentrations ranging from 0 to 600 ppm. The working principle can be attributed to the coupling of the in-pipe gas-flow-induced piezoelectric effect of PVDF and gas-sensing properties of PANI electrodes. | 16 | Insulin-like growth factor 1-induced enolase 2 deacetylation by HDAC3 promotes metastasis of pancreatic cancer显示文摘Enolase 2(ENO2)is a key glycolytic enzyme in the metabolic process of glycolysis,but its potential function in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma(PDAC)is unclear.In this study,we observed a significant overexpression of ENO2 in PDAC tissues,and its expression was correlated with metastasis and poor prognosis in PDAC patients.K394 was identified as a major acetylation site in ENO2 that regulates its enzymatic activity,cell metabolism and PDAC progression.Knockdown of ENO2 suppressed tumor growth and liver metastasis in PDAC.Re-expression of wild-type(WT)ENO2,but not the K394 acetylation mimetic mutant,could reverse the decreased tumor malignancy.We further characterized histone deacetylase 3(HDAC3)and P300/CBP-associated factor(PCAF)as the potential deacetylase and acetyltransferase for ENO2,respectively.HDAC3-mediated deacetylation was shown to lead to ENO2 activation and enhancement of glycolysis.Importantly,insulin-like growth factor-1(IGF-1)was found to decrease K394 acetylation and stimulate ENO2 activity in a dose-and time-dependent manner.The PI3K/AKT/mTOR pathway facilitated the phosphorylation of HDAC3 on S424,which promoted K394 deacetylation and activation of ENO2.Linsitinib,an oral small-molecule inhibitor of IGF-1R,could inhibit IGF-1-induced ENO2 deacetylation by HDAC3 and the PI3K/AKT/mTOR pathway.Furthermore,linsitinib showed a different effect on the growth and metastasis of PDAC depending on the overexpression of WT versus K394-mutant ENO2.Our results reveal a novel mechanism by which acetylation negatively regulates ENO2 activity in the metastasis of PDAC by modulating glycolysis.Blockade of IGF-1-induced ENO2 deacetylation represents a promising strategy to prevent the development of PDAC. | Yan Zheng Chao Wu Jimeng Yang Yue Zhao Huliang Jia Min Xue Da Xu Feng Yang Deliang Fu Chaoqun Wang Beiyuan Hu Ze Zhang Tianen Li Shican Yan Xuan Wang Peter J.Nelson Christiane Bruns Lunxiu Qin Qiongzhu Dong | 2020 | Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2020,5,1: | 3 |

| 18 | Spatio-temporal Evolution on Geographic Boundaries of HFRS Endemic Areas in Shandong Province, China显示文摘Objective To take effective strategies and measures for the prevention and control of hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome(HFRS) endemic areas by investigating its dynamic geographical boundaries in Shandong Province, China. Methods The incidence of HFRS from 1982 to 2008 in Shandong Prvince, China, was detected with inverse distance weighting(IDW) interpolation based on geographical information system(GIS). Dynamic geographical boundaries of HFRS endemic areas in Shandong Province, China, were analyzed by geographical boundary analysis. Results The HTN-type endemic areas of HFRS were located in Linyi City in phase 1(1982-1986), the SEO-type endemic areas of HFRS were located in Jining City in phase 2(1987-2003), and the endemic areas of HFRS in Jining City gradually disappeared and the endemic areas of HFRS with mixed-types of reservoir rodents were located in Linyi City in phase 3(2004-2008). Meanwhile, new endemic areas emerged in the northwestern Shandong province, China. | 19 | Design of the microlens arrays coupling with imagingfiber bundle显示文摘To ameliorate the disadvantages of imaging system coupled with imaging fiber bundle, a method by adding square aperture microlens arrays at both entrance and exit ends of the imaging fiber bundle is proposed to increase the system's coupling efficiency. The expressions for solving the parameters of both ends' microlens units are deducted particularly. The microlens arrays used for an infrared imaging fiber bundle with the single fiber diameter of 100 μm and core diameter of 70 μm are designed by this method. The simulation results show that compared with the system without microlens arrays, the fill factor of the imaging fiber bundle coupled microlens arrays system is increased from 44.4% to more than 90%, and the coupling efficiency is doubled too.
