| 2 | Geochemistry of rare earth elements in the mid-late Quaternary sediments of the western Philippine Sea and their paleoenvironmental significance显示文摘Based on a δ18O chronology,rare earth elements(REE) and other typical elements in sediments from core MD06-3047 in the western Philippine Sea were analyzed to constrain the provenances of the sediments and investigate quantitative changes in the Asian eolian input to the study area over the last 700 ka.Among the competing processes that might affect REE compositions,sediment provenance is the most important one.Provenance analysis suggests that the study sediments have two provenance end-members;local volcanic sources are dominant,and eolian dust from the Asian continent has a smaller contribution.During glacial periods,eolian input to the western Philippine Sea was enhanced.In contrast,material supply from local volcanics increased during interglacial periods.Changes in eolian input to the study area were probably related to the strength of the East Asian winter monsoon(EAWM) as well as aridity in the Asian continent on an orbital time scale,and were partly influenced by local control factors on shorter time scales.Therefore,we propose that the present study expands the application of the REE-based method for quantitatively estimating the eolian component from the mid-latitude northern Pacific to the low-latitude western Pacific.Additionally,the study preliminarily confirms the influence of EAWM-transported eolian material on sedimentation in the western Philippine Sea since 700 ka. | XU ZhaoKai LI TieGang WAN ShiMing YIN XueBo JIANG FuQing SUN HanJie JinYong CHOI DhongIl LIM | 2014 | Science China Earth Sciences2014,57,4: | 10 |

Firstly,an attraction-segment leader-follower formation graph is presented for formation representations. The model of swarm robot systems is described. According to the results and two kinds of artificial moments defined as leader-attraction moment and follower-attraction moment,a novel artificial moment method is proposed for swarm robot formation control. The principle of the method is introduced and the motion controller of robots is designed. Finally,the stability of the formation control system is proved. | 4 | Macrophage-mediated tumor-targeted delivery of engineered Salmonella typhimurium VNP20009 in anti-PD1 therapy against melanoma显示文摘Bacterial antitumor therapy has great application potential given its unique characteristics,including genetic manipulation, tumor targeting specificity and immune system modulation. However,the nonnegligible side effects and limited efficacy of clinical treatment limit their biomedical applications. Engineered bacteria for therapeutic applications ideally need to avoid their accumulation in normal organs and possess potent antitumor activity. Here, we show that macrophage-mediated tumor-targeted delivery of Salmonella typhimurium VNP20009 can effectively reduce the toxicity caused by administrating VNP20009 alone in a melanoma mouse model. This benefits from tumor-induced chemotaxis for macrophages combined with their slow release of loaded strains. Inspired by changes in the tumor microenvironment, including a decrease in intratumoral dysfunctional CD8+T cells and an increase in PDL1 on the tumor cell surface, macrophages were loaded with the engineered strain VNP-PD1nb, which can express and secrete anti-PD1 nanoantibodies after they are released from macrophages. This novel triple-combined immunotherapy significantly inhibited melanoma tumors by reactivating the tumor microenvironment by increasing immune cell infiltration, inhibiting tumor cell proliferation, remodeling TAMs to an M1-like phenotype and prominently activating CD8+T cells. | 11 | Enhance the performance of polymer solar cells via extension of the flanking end groups of fused ring acceptors显示文摘Two new fused ring electron acceptors(FREAs)IDT-IC-T and IDT-IC-B with thienyl or phenyl substituents at the terminal INCN unit are synthesized.Theoretical calculations indicate that the two acceptors dominantly favor an intermolecularπ-πstacking between the flanking terminal groups.The twist angle between the aryl substituent and INCN unit has a significant influence on theπ-πstacking distance of terminal unit.IDT-IC-T with a smaller twist angle has a shorterπ-πstacking distance than that of IDT-IC-B with a larger twist angle.In addition,extending the conjugation also affects the blend film morphology.IDT-IC-T and IDT-IC-B based photoactive films show appropriate nanoscale phase separations;whereas,blend films based on the parent compound IDT-IC show large-size acceptor domains.As expected,PBDB-T:IDT-IC-T blend films show higher and more balanced electron and hole mobilities.Moreover,these two acceptors present a good charge-transport connectivity arising from the extended conjugation and the increased intermolecular overlapping.Ultimately,IDT-IC-T demonstrates the highest electron mobility(1.47×10^(-4)cm^2V^(-1)s^(-1))and the best power conversion efficiency(PCE)of 9.43%.As for IDT-IC,which only shows an electron mobility of 7.33×10^(-5)cm^2V^(-1)s^(-1)and a PCE of 5.82%.These findings provide a facile and effective way to improve the photovoltaic performance. | Shiyu Feng Danyang Ma Liangliang Wu Yahui Liu Cai'e Zhang Xinjun Xu Xuebo Chen Shouke Yan Zhishan Bo | 2018 | Science China Chemistry2018,61,10: | 0 |

| 14 | Protective mechanism of quercetin compounds against acrylamide-induced hepatotoxicity显示文摘Quercetin compounds have antioxidant,anti-inflammatory and anticancer pharmacological functions.Longterm exposure to acrylamide(AA)can cause liver injury and endanger human health.However,whether quercetin compounds can attenuate AA-induced liver injury and the specific mechanism are not clear.Here,we studied the mechanism and structure-activity relationship of quercetin compounds in reducing AA-induced hepatotoxicity in vivo and in vitro.In vivo studies found that quercetin-like compounds protect against AAinduced liver injury by reducing oxidative stress levels,activating the Akt/m TOR signaling pathway to attenuate autophagy,and improving mitochondrial apoptosis and endoplasmic reticulum stress-mediated apoptosis.In vitro studies found that quercetin compounds protected Hep G2 cells from AA by attenuating the activation of AA-induced autophagy,lowering reactive oxygen species(ROS)levels by exerting antioxidant effects and thus attenuating oxidative stress,increasing mitochondrial membrane potential(MMP),and improving apoptosis-related proteins,thus attenuating AA-induced apoptosis.Furthermore,the conformational differences between quercetin compounds correlated with their protective capacity against AA-induced hepatotoxicity,with quercetin showing the best protective capacity due to its strongest antioxidant activity.In conclusion,quercetin compounds can protect against AA-induced liver injury through multiple pathways of oxidative stress,autophagy and apoptosis,and their protective capacity correlates with antioxidant activity. | Linzi Li Xueying Lei Lin Chen Ya Ma Jun Luo Xuebo Liu Xinglian Xu Guanghong Zhou Xianchao Feng | 2024 | Food Science and Human Wellness2024,13,1: | 0 |
