| 1 | Comparative evaluation of immune response after laparoscopical and open total mesorectal excisions with anal sphincter preservation in patients with rectal cancer显示文摘AIM: The study of immune response of open versus laparoscopical total mesorectal excision with anal sphincter preservation in patients with rectal cancer has not been reported yet. The dissected retroperitoneal area that contacts directly with carbon dioxide is extensive in laparoscopic total mesorectal excision with anal sphincter preservation surgery. Tt is important to clarify whether the immune response of laparoscopic total mesorectal excision with anal sphincter preservation (LTME with ASP) in patients with rectal cancer is suppressed more severely than that of open surgery (OTME with ASP). This study was designed to compare the immune functions after laparoscopic and open total mesorectal excision with anal sphincter preservation for rectal cancer.METHODS: This study involved 45 patients undergoing laparoscopic (n=20) and open (n=25) total mesorectal excisions with anal sphincter preservation for rectal cancer.Serum interleukin-2 (IL-2), interleukin-6 (IL-6), tumor necrosis factor α (TNFα) were assayed preoperatively and on days 1 and 5 postoperatively. CD3+ and CD56+ T lymphocyte count, CD3- and CD56+ natural killer cell (NK)count and immunoglobulin (IgG/IgM/IgA) were assayed preoperatively and on day 5 postoperatively. The numbers of CD3+ and CD56+ T lymphocytes and CD3- and CD56+ NK cells were counted using flow cytometry. An enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) was used for IL-2, TL-6 and TNFα determination. And IgG, IgM, and IgA were assayed using immunonephelometry.RESULTS: The demographic data of the two groups had no difference. The preoperative levels of CD3+ and CD56+ T lymphocyte count, CD3- and CD56+ NK count, serum IgG,IgM, IgA, IL-2, IL-6 and TNFα also had no significant difference in the two groups (P>0.05). The CD3+ and CD56+ T lymphocyte counts had no obvious changes after surgery in laparoscopic (d=-0.79±3.83 %) and open (d=0.42±2.09 %)groups. The CD3- and CD56+ NK counts were decreased postoperatively in both laparoscopic (d=-7.23±11.33 %) and open (d=-9.21±13.93 %) groups. The differences of the determined values of serum IgG, IgM and IgA on the fifth day after operation subtracted those before operation were -2.56±2.14 g/L, -252.35±392.94 mg/L, -506.15±912.24 mg/L in laparoscopic group, and -1.81±2.10 g/L, -282.72±356.75mg/L, -252.20±396.28 mg/L in open group, respectively. The levels of IL-2 were decreased after operation in both groups.However, the levels of IL-6 were decreased after laparoscopic surgery (d1=-23.14±263.97 ng/L and d5=-40.08±272.03 ng/L),and increased after open surgery (d1=27.38±129.14 ng/L and d5=21.67±234.31 ng/L). The TNFα levels were not elevated after surgery in both groups. | 2 | Pitting corrosion behavior of Cu-P-RE weathering steels显示文摘The weathering steels are prone to pitting corrosion in an environment containing chloride ions.The pitting behavior of Cu-P-RE weathering steels and its effect on the corrosion resistance of steels were investigated by multifarious analytical techniques,such as field emission-scanning electron microscopy(FE-SEM),electron probe microanalysis(EPMA),scanning Kelvin probe force microscopy(SKPFM),electrochemical workstation and a series of immersion tests.The results show that the original stripshaped MnS inclusions and Al_(2)O_(3)inclusions with sharp angles are modified into the fine spherical rare earth(RE)inclusions with small average size,which are mainly RE oxysulfides after adding appropriate amount of mischmetal(48.9 wt%Ce-42 wt%La-5 wt%Nd-Fe)into the Cu-P weathering steel.In the environment containing Cl^(-),the pitting corrosion in RE weathering steel is induced by the preferential dissolution of RE inclusions in that the RE inclusions have a more negative potential than steel matrix at the initial corrosion stage.With the increase of corrosion time,the driving force of pitting expansion is weakened as a re sult of the continuous dissolution of RE inclusions,which makes the pitting tend to propagate horizontally around the RE inclusions.Once the RE inclusions completely dissolve,the open corrosion pits with shallow depth are formed in steel.The dispersed pitting pits with small size and shallow depth induced by RE inclusions are conducive to the formation of uniform and dense corrosion products layer on the steel surface,which reveals that the addition of RE can improve the corrosion resistance of weathering steels. | Lijie Yue Yeshu Meng Jinsheng Han Kun Xie Yipin Sun Yunliang Tan | 2023 | Journal of Rare Earths2023,41,2: | 1 |

| 6 | Invisible vapor catalysis in graphene growth by chemical vapor deposition显示文摘Vapor catalysis was recently found to play a crucial role in superclean graphene growth via chemical vapor decomposition(CVD).However,knowledge of vapor-phase catalysis is scarce,and several fundamental issues,including vapor compositions and their impact on graphene growth,are ambiguous.Here,by combining density functional theory(DFT)calculations,an ideal gas model,and a designed experiment,we found that the vapor was mainly composed of Cui clusters with tens of atoms.The vapor pressure was estimated to be~10^(-12)-10^(-1)1 bar under normal low-pressure CVD system(LPCVD)conditions for graphene growth,and the exposed surface area of Cui clusters in the vapor was 22-269 times that of the Cu substrate surface,highlighting the importance of vapor catalysis.DFT calculations show Cu clusters,represented by Cu17,have strong capabilities for adsorption,dehydrogenation,and decomposition of hydrocarbons.They exhibit an adsorption lifetime and reaction flux six orders of magnitude higher than those on the Cu surface,thus providing a sufficient supply of active C atoms for rapid graphene growth and improving the surface cleanliness of the synthesized graphene.Further experimental validation showed that increasing the amount of Cu vapor improved the as-synthesized graphene growth rate and surface cleanliness.This study provides a comprehensive understanding of vapor catalysis and the fundamental basis of vapor control for superclean graphene rapid growth. | Xiucai Sun Xiaoting Liu Zhongti Sun Xintong Zhang Yuzhu Wu Yeshu Zhu Yuqing Song Kaicheng Jia Jincan Zhang Luzhao Sun Wan-Jian Yin Zhongfan Liu | 2024 | Nano Research2024,17,5: | 0 |
