1Temporal variations and source apportionment of volatile organic compounds at an urban site in Shijiazhuang, China显示文摘Shijiazhuang,the city with the worst air quality in China,is suffering from severe ozone pollution in summer.As the key precursors of ozone generation,it is necessary to control the Volatile Organic Compounds(VOCs)pollution.To have a better understanding of the pollution status and source contribution,the concentrations of 117 ambient VOCs were analyzed from April to August 2018 in an urban site in Shijiazhuang.Results showed that the monthly average concentration of total VOCs was 66.27 ppbv,in which,the oxygenated VOCs(37.89%),alkanes(33.89%),and halogenated hydrocarbons(13.31%)were the main composite on.Eight major sources were identified using Positive Matrix Factorization modeling with an accurate VOCs emission inventory as inter-complementary methods revealed that the petrochemical industry(26.24%),other industrial sources(15.19%),and traffic source(12.24%)were the major sources for ambient VOCs in Shijiazhuang.The spatial distributions of major industrial activities emissions were identified by using geographic information statistics system,which illustrated the VOCs was mainly from the north and southeast of Shijiazhuang.The inverse trajectory analysis using Hybrid Single-Particle Lagrangian Integrated Trajectory(HYSPLIT)and Potential Source Contribution Function(PSCF)clearly demonstrated the features of pollutant transport to Shijiazhuang.These findings can provide references for local governments regarding control strategies to reduce VOCs emissions.Yanan Guan Lei Wang Shujuan Wang Yihao Zhang Jieying Xiao Xiaoli Wang Erhong Duan Li'an Hou 2020Journal of Environmental Sciences2020,32,11:19
2Building an IPv6 address generation and traceback system with NIDTGA in Address Driven Network显示文摘In the design and construction process of Next Generation Internet, it is important to identify the source of each IP packet forwarding accurately, especially for the support of precise fine-grained management,control, traceability and improving the trustworthiness of the Internet. This paper designed a scalable Network Identity(NID) scheme for the Internet users, proposed NIDTGA(Network Identity and Time Generated Address), an IPv6 address generation algorithm embedded NID and time information, then designed and implemented an IPv6 address generation and traceback system based on NIDTGA. The design of NIDTGA, which reflects the length, time and owner attributes of the IP address, can be a good support to ADN(Address Driven Network). 3The calcium-dependent protein kinase ZmCDPK7 functions in heat-stress tolerance in maize显示文摘Global warming poses a serious threat to crops.Calcium-dependent protein kinases(CDPKs)/CPKs play vital roles in plant stress responses,but their exact roles in plant thermotolerance remains elusive.Here,we explored the roles of heat-induced ZmCDPK7 in thermotolerance in maize.ZmCDPK7-overexpressing maize plants displayed higher thermotolerance,photosynthetic rates,and antioxidant enzyme activity but lower H2 O2 and malondialdehyde(MDA)contents than wild-type plants under heat stress.ZmCDPK7-knockdown plants displayed the opposite patterns.ZmCDPK7 is attached to the plasma membrane but can translocate to the cytosol under heat stress.ZmCDPK7 interacts with the small heat shock protein sHSP17.4,phosphorylates sHSP17.4 at Ser-44 and the respiratory burst oxidase homolog RBOHB at Ser-99,and up regulates their expression.Site-directed mutagenesis of sHSP17.4 to generate a Ser-44-Ala substitution reduced ZmCDPK7’s enhancement of catalase activity but enhanced ZmCDPK7’s suppression of MDA accumulation in heat-stressed maize protoplasts.sHSP17.4,ZmCDPK7,and RBOHB were less strongly upregulated in response to heat stress in the abscisic acid-deficient mutant vp5 versus the wild type.Pretreatment with an RBOH inhibitor suppressed sHSP17.4 and ZmCDPK7 expression.Therefore,abscisic acid-induced ZmCDPK7 functions both upstream and downstream of RBOH and participates in thermotolerance in maize by mediating the phosphorylation of sHSP17.4,which might be essential for its chaperone function.Yulong Zhao Hanwei Du Yankai Wang Huali Wang Shaoyu Yang Chaohai Li Ning Chen Hao Yang Yihao Zhang Yulin Zhu Luyao Yang Xiuli Hu 2021Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2021,63,3:6
4Recent progression and future perspectives in cotton genomic breeding显示文摘Upland cotton is an important global cash crop for its long seed fibers and high edible oil and protein content.Progress in cotton genomics promotes the advancement of cotton genetics,evolutionary studies,functional genetics,and breeding,and has ushered cotton research and breeding into a new era.Here,we summarize high-impact genomics studies for cotton from the last 10 years.The diploid Gossypium arboreum and allotetraploid Gossypium hirsutum are the main focus of most genetic and genomic studies.We next review recent progress in cotton molecular biology and genetics,which builds on cotton genome sequencing efforts,population studies,and functional genomics,to provide insights into the mechanisms shaping abiotic and biotic stress tolerance,plant architecture,seed oil content,and fiber development.We also suggest the application of novel technologies and strategies to facilitate genome-based crop breeding.Explosive growth in the amount of novel genomic data,identified genes,gene modules,and pathways is now enabling researchers to utilize multidisciplinary genomics-enabled breeding strategies to cultivate'super cotton',synergistically improving multiple traits.These strategies must rise to meet urgent demands for a sustainable cotton industry.Zhaoen Yang Chenxu Gao Yihao Zhang Qingdi Yan Wei Hu Lan Yang Zhi Wang Fuguang Li 2023Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2023,65,2:3
5Chronic fatigue syndrome treated by the traditional Chinese proce-dure abdominal tuina:a randomized controlled clinical trial显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the effect of the traditional Chinese procedure abdominal Tuina(AT) on chronic fatigue syndrome(CFS).METHODS: This randomized, single assessor-blinded clinical trial was carried out from May 2014 to April 2015. Eighty participants in the trial were divided randomly into two groups: experimental group and control. The experimental group(40 cases) was treated by AT and the control group(40 cases) by acupuncture. Each treatment was conducted once a day, 5 d for one course, at an interval of 2 d between each course. The whole treatment course lasted for 4 weeks. To ascertain the effect of AT and acupuncture, Fatigue Scale-14(FS-14), Self-rating Anxiety Scale(SAS) and Hamilton Rating Scale for Depression(HAMD) scores were used before and after treatment. Patients were followed up for3 months after treatment.RESULTS: After treatment for 4 weeks, 77 patients(39 cases in the experimental group and 38 cases in the control group) completed the trial. The FS-14,SAS and HAMD scores decreased(P < 0.05) significantly compared with those before treatment in both groups. The FS-14 and HAMD(P < 0.05) scores in the experimental group were much lower than those in the control group. The difference in SAS scores between the two groups was not significant.In the final follow-up, CFS in two cases in the experimental group and three in the control group recurred, but the difference was not significant. 6BYSL contributes to tumor growth by cooperating with the mTORC2 complex in gliomas显示文摘Objective:BYSL,which encodes the Bystin protein in humans,is upregulated in reactive astrocytes following brain damage and/or inflammation.We aimed to determine the role and mechanism of BYSL in glioma cell growth and survival.Methods:BYSL expression in glioma tissues was measured by quantitative real-time PCR,Western blot,and immunohistochemistry.In vitro assays were performed to assess the role of BYSL in cell proliferation and apoptosis.Protein interactions and co-localization were determined by co-immunoprecipitation and double immunofluorescence.The expression and activity of the AKT/m TOR signaling molecules were determined by Western blot analysis,and the role of BYSL in glioma growth was confirmed in an orthotopic xenograft model.Results:The BYSL m RNA and protein levels were elevated in glioma tissues.Silencing BYSL inhibited glioma cell proliferation,impeded cell cycle progression,and induced apoptosis,whereas overexpressing BYSL protein led to the opposite effects.We identified a complex consisting of BYSL,RIOK2,and m TOR,and observed co-localization and positive correlations between BYSL and RIOK2 in glioma cells and tissues.Overexpressing BYSL or RIOK2 increased the expression and activity of AKT/m TOR signaling molecules,whereas downregulation of BYSL or RIOK2 decreased the activity of AKT/m TOR signaling molecules.Silencing BYSL or RIOK2 decreased the growth of the tumors and prolonged the lifespan of the animals in an orthotopic xenograft model.Conclusions:High expression of BYSL in gliomas promoted tumor cell growth and survival both in vitro and in vivo.These effects could be attributed to the association of BYSL with RIOK2 and m TOR,and the subsequent activation of AKT signaling.Shangfeng Gao Zhuang Sha Junbo Zhou Yihao Wu Yunnong Song Cheng Li Xuejiao Liu Tong Zhang Rutong Yu 2021Cancer Biology & Medicine2021,18,1:3

8Interfacing photonics with artificial intelligence:an innovative design strategy for photonic structures and devices based on artificial neural networks显示文摘Over the past decades,photonics has transformed many areas in both fundamental research and practical applications.In particular,we can manipulate light in a desired and prescribed manner by rationally designed subwavelength structures.However,constructing complex photonic structures and devices is still a time-consuming process,even for experienced researchers.As a subset of artificial intelligence,artificial neural networks serve as one potential solution to bypass the complicated design process,enabling us to directly predict the optical responses of photonic structures or perform the inverse design with high efficiency and accuracy.In this review,we will introduce several commonly used neural networks and highlight their applications in the design process of various optical structures and devices,particularly those in recent experimental works.We will also comment on the future directions to inspire researchers from different disciplines to collectively advance this emerging research field.Yihao Xu Xianzhe Zhang Yun Fu Yongmin Liu 2021Photonics Research2021,9,4:1

11Brassinosteroid and gibberellin coordinate rice seed germination and embryo growth by regulating glutelin mobilization显示文摘Seed germination is the beginning of a new lifecycle,and involves many complex physiological and biochemical reactions including seed reserve mobilization in the endosperm and nutrient transport and reuse in the embryo.Although glutelin is a dominant storage protein in rice,its contribution to seed germination and its regulatory mechanisms are mostly unknown.Gibberellin (GA) and brassinosteroid (BR),two major growth-promoting phytohormones,also play positive roles in controlling seed germination.However,how GA and BR interact and coordinate seed germination and facilitate glutelin mobilization remains unclear.In the present study,biochemical and physiological analyses of seed germination indicated that both GA and BR promote seed germination and post-germination growth.Exogenous application of GA restored germination defects caused by BR deficiency or insensitivity.Proteomic and q RT-PCR results showed that the expression of several glutelin proteins and their encoding genes was induced by BR and GA in the embryo.Expression assays suggested that the increased accumulation of glutelin protein in the embryo was due to the accelerated degradation of glutelin by a cysteine proteinase (REP-1) in the endosperm.The breakdown of glutelin in the endosperm showed a strict positive correspondence with the length of the shoot.The GluA2 mutation led to reduced degradation rate of glutelin and defects in seed germination,and the promotion effect of GA on seed germination was weakened in the glua2mutant.In vitro culture assay of rice embryos showed that glutelin mobilization functioned downstream of the GA and BR pathways to promote shoot elongation.These findings suggest a mechanism that mediates crosstalk between BR and GA in co-regulating rice seed germination and embryo growth.Min Xiong Lingyi Chu Qianfeng Li Jiawen Yu Yihao Yang Peng Zhou Yong Zhou Changquan Zhang Xiaolei Fan Dongsheng Zhao Changjie Yan Qiaoquan Liu 2021The Crop Journal2021,9,5:1

13Performance of rolling piston type rotary compressor using fullerenes(C70)and NiFe204 nanocomposites as lubricants additives显示文摘A novel way for a compressor to improve its coefficient of performance was proposed in this paper.Fullerenes(C70)and NiFe2O4 nanocomposites were modified by span 80 and dispersed in refrigeration oil by solid grinding(SG).Besides,the tribological properties of the nanocomposites were investigated using a four ball friction tester.The results show that when the mass concentration of fullerenes nanocomposite is higher than 60 ppm and the concentration of nano-oil is 2 g/L,the friction coefficient decreases from 0.13 to 0.06 which means the wear is reduced.The coefficient of performance of the compressor under the air conditioning test condition can be raised by 1.23%.Ruixiang WANG Yihao ZHANG Yi LIAO 2020Frontiers in Energy2020,14,3:1

15VprBP mitigates TGF-β and Activin signaling by promoting Smurf1-mediated type Ⅰ receptor degradation显示文摘The transforming growth factor-β(TGF-β)family controls embryogenesis,stem cell differentiation,and tissue homeostasis.However,how post-translation modifications contribute to fine-tuning of TGF-βfamily signaling responses is not well understood.Inhibitory(I)-Smads can antagonize TGF-β/Smad signaling by recruiting Smurf E3 ubiquitin ligases to target the active TGF-βreceptor for proteasomal degradation.A proteomic interaction screen identified Vpr binding protein(VprBP)as novel binding partner of Smad7.Mis-expression studies revealed that VprBP negatively controls Smad2 phosphorylation,Smad2–Smad4 interaction,as well as TGF-βtarget gene expression.VprBP was found to promote Smad7–Smurf1–TβRI complex formation and induce proteasomal degradation of TGF-βtype I receptor(TβRI).Moreover,VprBP appears to stabilize Smurf1 by suppressing Smurf1 poly-ubiquitination.In multiple adult and mouse embryonic stem cells,depletion of VprBP promotes TGF-βor Activin-induced responses.In the mouse embryo VprBP expression negatively correlates with mesoderm marker expression,and VprBP attenuated mesoderm induction during zebrafish embryogenesis.Our findings thereby uncover a novel regulatory mechanism by which Smurf1 controls the TGF-βand Activin cascade and identify VprBP as a critical determinant of embryonic mesoderm induction.Yihao Li Chao Cui Feng Xie Szymon Kietbasa Hailiang Mei Maarten van Dinther Hans van Dam Andreas Bauer Long Zhang Peterten Dijke 2020Journal of Molecular Cell Biology2020,12,2:1

17Bio-inspired, bio-degradable adenosine 5′ -diphosphate-modified hyaluronic acid coordinated hydrophobic undecanal-modified chitosan for hemostasis and wound healing显示文摘Uncontrolled hemorrhage and wound infection are crucial causes of trauma-associated death in both the military and the clinic. Therefore, developing an efficient and rapid hemostatic method with biocompatibility, easy degradation, and wound healing is of great importance and desirability. Inspired by spontaneous blood cell plug formation in the hemostasis process, an adenosine 5′-diphosphate modified pro-coagulation hyaluronic acid (HA-ADP) coordinated with enhanced antibacterial activity of undecanal-modified chitosan (UCS) was fabricated through physical electrostatic cross-linking and freeze-drying. The as-prepared hydrogel sponges showed a porous structure suitable for blood cell adhesion. In particular, the hydrogel exhibited excellent antibacterial ability and promoted the adhesion of platelets and red blood cells, thus inducing a prominent pro-coagulation ability via platelet activation, which exhibits a shorter hemostasis time (58.94% of control) in vitro. Compared with commercially available CELOX and gelatin sponge (GS), HA-ADP/UCS accelerates hemostasis and reduces blood loss in both rat tail amputation and rat artery injury models. Furthermore, all the samples exhibited su-perior cytocompatibility and biodegradability. Due to these performances, HA-ADP/UCS promoted full-thickness skin defect healing significantly in vivo. 18Tribological properties of onion like fullerenes and NiFe2O4 nanocomposites in reciprocating motion显示文摘A novel way for a compressor to improve its coefficient of performance and enhance its reliability by employing nano-refrigeration lubricant oil was proposed. Onion like fullerenes (OLFs) and NiFe2O4 nano-composites, modified by Span 80, were dispersed in refrigeration oil KFR22 by solid grinding (SG). Morphologies of NiFe2O4 nano-composites were characterized by using transmission electron microscope (TEM). The tribological properties as a refrigeration lubricants additive were investigated using SRV (II), a multi-functional reciprocating friction and wear tester.
