| 1 | Prognostic implications of epidermal growth factor receptor variant Ⅲ expression and nuclear translocation in Chinese human gliomas显示文摘Objective: To determine the prognostic implications and clinical significance of epidermal growth factor receptor variant Ⅲ(EGFRvⅢ) expression and EGFRvⅢ nuclear translocation in Chinese human gliomas.Methods: We retrospectively examined EGFRvⅢ expression and EGFRvⅢ nuclear translocation using immunohistochemistry in specimens of 240 Chinese patients with glioma, including 84 World Health Organization(WHO) II gliomas, 84 WHO Ⅲ gliomas and 72 glioblastomas(WHO IV). Factors that correlated with EGFRvⅢ and EGFRvⅢ nuclear translocation expression were analyzed by the Chi-square test. Kaplan-Meier methodology and Cox regression were used for the survival analysis.Results: Log-rank tests showed that patient age, Karnofsky performance scale(KPS) score, tumor grade,EGFRvⅢ expression, EGFRvⅢ nuclear translocation, 1 p/19 q codeletion, isocitrate dehydrogenase(IDH)mutation, Ki-67 labeling index and O6-methylguanine-DNA methyltransferase(MGMT) status(P<0.05) were significantly correlated with overall survival(OS) time. Multivariate Cox regression analysis revealed that patient age, tumor grade, EGFRvⅢ nuclear translocation, 1 p/19 q codeletion, and IDH mutation(P<0.05) were significantly correlated with OS. Patients with a high level of EGFRvⅢ nuclear translocation(≥7%) had both significantly shorter OS [hazard ratio(HR): 1.920, 95% confidence interval(95% CI): 1.228-3.003, P=0.004] and progression-free survival(PFS) times(HR: 1.661, 95% CI: 1.116-2.471, P=0.012) than those with a low level of EGFRvⅢ nuclear translocation(<7%).Conclusions: A high level of EGFRvⅢ nuclear translocation in glioma is an independent factor indicating a poor prognosis, but EGFRvⅢ expression is not an independent clinical prognostic factor. | 5 | Photoinduced large polaron transport and dynamics in organic-inorganic hybrid lead halide perovskite with terahertz probes显示文摘Organic-inorganic hybrid metal halide perovskites(MHPs)have attracted tremendous attention for optoelectronic applications.The long photocarrier lifetime and moderate carrier mobility have been proposed as results of the large polaron formation in MHPs.However,it is challenging to measure the effective mass and carrier scattering parameters of the photogenerated large polarons in the ultrafast carrier recombination dynamics.Here,we show,in a one-step spectroscopic method,that the optical-pump and terahertz-electromagnetic probe(OPTP)technique allows us to access the nature of interplay of photoexcited unbound charge carriers and optical phonons in polycrystalline CH_(3)NH_(3)PbI_(3)(MAPbI_(3))of about 10μm grain size.Firstly,we demonstrate a direct spectral evidence of the large polarons in polycrystalline MAPbI_(3).Using the Drude-Smith-Lorentz model along with the Frӧhlich-type electron-phonon(e-ph)coupling,we determine the effective mass and scattering parameters of photogenerated polaronic carriers.We discover that the resulting moderate polaronic carrier mobility is mainly influenced by the enhanced carrier scattering,rather than the polaron mass enhancement.While,the formation of large polarons in MAPbI_(3)polycrystalline grains results in a long charge carrier lifetime at room temperature.Our results provide crucial information about the photo-physics of MAPbI3 and are indispensable for optoelectronic device development with better performance. | Zuanming Jin Yan Peng Yuqing Fang Zhijiang Ye Zhiyuan Fan Zhilin Liu Xichang Bao Heng Gao Wei Ren Jing Wu Guohong Ma Qianli Chen Chao Zhang Alexey VBalakin Alexander PShkurinov Yiming Zhu Songlin Zhuang | 2022 | Light(Science & Applications)2022,11,8: | 4 |

| 7 | The efficacy and safety of pramipexole ER versus IR in Chinese patients with Parkinson’s disease: a randomized, double-blind, double-dummy, parallel-group study显示文摘Objective:To evaluate the non-inferiority of pramipexole extended-release(ER)versus immediate-release(IR)in Chinese patients with Parkinson’s disease(PD)in a double-blind,randomized,parallel-group study.Methods:Subjects were Chinese patients with idiopathic PD with diagnosis≥2 years prior to trial,age≥30 years old at diagnosis,and Modified Hoehn and Yahr score 2-4 during‘on’-time.Subjects received treatment with pramipexole ER(n=234)or IR(n=239).Non-inferiority was based on the primary endpoint,the change from baseline to end of maintenance(week 18)in the UPDRS(Parts II+III)total score.Results:For the primary endpoint,the adjusted mean changes(standard error)of UPDRS Parts II+III at week 18 were−13.81(0.655)and−13.05(0.643)for ER and IR formulations,respectively,using ANCOVA adjusted for treatment and centre(fixed effect)and baseline(covariate).The adjusted mean between group difference was 0.8 for the 2-sided 95%CI(−1.047,2.566).Since the lower limit of the 2-sided 95%CI(−1.047)for treatment difference was higher than the non-inferiority margin of−4,non-inferiority between pramipexole ER and IR was demonstrated.The incidence of adverse events(AEs)was 68.8%in the ER arm and 73.6%in the IR arm with few severe AEs(ER:2.1%;IR:3.8%).Conclusion:Based on the UPDRS II+III score,pramipexole ER was non-inferior to pramipexole IR.The safety profiles of pramipexole ER and IR were similar.These results were based on comparable mean daily doses and durations of treatment for both formulations. | Ying Wang Shenggang Sun Suiqiang Zhu Chunfeng Liu Yiming Liu Qing Di Huifang Shang Yan Ren Changhong Lu Mark Forrest Gordon Nolwenn Juhel Shengdi Chen for the Pramipexole ER Study Team | 2014 | Translational Neurodegeneration2014,3,1: | 3 |
| 8 | 1.3 μm InAs/GaAs quantum dot lasers on silicon with GaInP upper cladding layers显示文摘We report on the first electrically pumped continuous-wave(CW) In As/Ga As quantum dot(QD) laser grown on Si with a GaInP upper cladding layer. A QD laser structure with a Ga_(0.51)In_(0.49)P upper cladding layer and an Al_(0.53)Ga_(0.47)As lower cladding layer was directly grown on Si by metal–organic chemical vapor deposition. It demonstrates the postgrowth annealing effect on the QDs was relieved enough with the GaInP upper cladding layer grown at a low temperature of 550°C. Broad-stripe edge-emitting lasers with 2-mm cavity length and 15-μm stripe width were fabricated and characterized. | 9 | Laser cladding of Al+Ir powders on ZM5 magnesium base alloy显示文摘Laser cladding of preplaced Al + Ir powders on a ZM5 magnesium alloy was performed to enhance the corrosion resistance of the ZM5 magnesium alloy. A metallurgical bond was obtained at the coating/substrate interface. The corrosion potential (Ecorr) of the laser cladded sample was 169 mV positive to that of the untreated ZM5 substrate,while the corrosion current (Icorr) was some one order of magnitude lower. The laser cladded sample,unlike the untreated ZM5 substrate,showed a passive region in the polarization plot. Immersion tests confirmed that the corrosion resistance of the laser cladded ZM5 sample was significantly enhanced in 3.5 wt.% NaCl solution. | 10 | Effect of Steam Explosion Technology Main Parameters on Moso Bamboo and Poplar Fiber显示文摘One of the large-scale industrial applications of Moso bamboo and poplar in China is the production of standardized fiberboard.When making fiberboard,a steam blasting pretreatment without the addition of traditional adhesives has become increasingly popular because of its environmental friendliness and wide applicability.In this study,the steam explosion pretreatment of Moso bamboo and poplar was conducted.The steam explosion pressure and holding time were varied to determine the influence of these factors on fiber quality by investigating the morphology of the fiber,the mass ratio of the unexploded specimen at the end face,the chemical composition,and the tensile strength.The following conclusions were drawn:As the steam burst pressure and holding time increased,more cellulose and hemicellulose degradation occurred(the degradation of hemicellulose was greater than that of cellulose),the lignin content rose,and the fiber bundle strength decreased.The degradation of bamboo cellulose was slightly higher than that of poplar,and the degradation of poplar hemicellulose was significantly faster than that of bamboo.Furthermore,increasing the steam explosion pressure and pressure holding time could not effectively increase the lignin content.It is recommended to use a steam blasting pressure of 2.5 MPa or 3.0 MPa and a holding time of 180 s to perform steam blasting on bamboo and poplar specimens. | Biqing Shu Qin Ren Lu Hong Zhongping Xiao Xiaoning Lu Wenya Wang Junbao Yu Naiqiang Fu Yiming Gu Jinjun Zheng | 2021 | Journal of Renewable Materials2021,9,3: | 1 |
| 11 | The contribution of photoinduced charge-transfer enhancement to the SERS of uranyl(Ⅵ) in a uranyl-Ag_2O complex显示文摘Charge-transfer(CT) is an important enhancement mechanism in the field of surface-enhanced Raman scattering(SERS) that typically increases the Raman intensity of molecules by as much as 10–100 times.Herein, a low-cost Ag_2O aggregates substrate was prepared via a facile chemical precipitation method,and the calculated CT-based enhancement factor of the uranyl ions adsorbed on it reached as high as 10~5, a metal-comparable value. The efficient photoinduced CT process from the valence band of Ag_2O to the LUMO of uranyl ions under appropriate excitation sources resulted in the repulsion of the axial oxygen atoms of the O=U=O bond, which enhanced its polarizability, creating a more intense Raman mode. To the best of our knowledge, this study firstly reports such a strong photoinduced CT enhancement of uranyl ions, with concentrations of 10^(-8) mol L^(-1) or lower being detected using this Ag_2O substrate. Most importantly, this research has shown that the photoinduced CT enhancement also contributes to the SERS of uranyl ions on pure Ag substrates which have often been ascribed to the electromagnetic enhancement in previous studies. | 17 | Research on the discrimination methods of algae based on the fluorescence excitation spectra显示文摘The excitation spectra of chlorophyll (Chl) fluorescence can be used to differentiate phytoplankton populations at phylum level in vivo and in situ within a few minutes.The investigated phytoplankton divisions (Dinophyta,Bacillariophyta,Chrysophyta,Cyanophyta,Cryptophyta,Chlorophyta) are each characterized by a specific composition of photosynthetic antenna pigments and,consequently,by a specific excitation spectrum of the Chl fluorescence.Norm excitation spectra (emission of 680 nm and excitation of 400–600 nm) of every division were obtained from several species per division by a F4500 fluorescence spectrophotometer.Fisher’s linear discriminant analysis of the norm spectra shows that the divisions could be discriminated.The discrimination method,established by multivariate linear regression and weighted least squares,was used to differentiate the phytoplankton samples cultured in the laboratory and samples collected from the Jiaozhao Bay at division level.The correctly discriminated samples were more than 94% for single algal species ones,more than 84% for simulatively mixed ones,more than 83% for real mixed ones and 100% for samples collected from the Jiaozhou Bay for the dominant species.The method for phytoplankton differentiation described here can be applied to routine checking by fluorescence spectrophotometer,and benefit the monitoring and supervision tasks related to phytoplankton populations in the marine environments. | HU Xupeng SU Rongguo ZOU Weiming REN Shijun WANG Hongtao CHAI Xiaoping WANG Yiming | 2010 | Acta Oceanologica Sinica2010,29,4: | 1 |

| 19 | Three-dimensional electrical structure model of the Yangbajain geothermal field in Tibet:Evidence obtained from magnetotelluric data显示文摘The Yangbajain Geothermal Field in Tibet is located in the fault subsidence basin of the central Yadong-Gulu Rift Valley.The spatial distribution of the field is controlled by mountain-front fault zones on the northwestern and southeastern sides of the basin.Geothermal power has been generated in Yangbajain for more than 40 years.However,owing to the lack of threedimensional(3D) geophysical exploration data,key geological issues related to the partial melt body of the Yangbajain Geothermal Field,such as its location,burial depth,and geometric form,as well as the ascending channel of the geothermal fluid,have for a long time been controversial.In this study,3D inversion was performed using measured geo-electromagnetic total impedance tensor data from 47 survey points.The extracted horizontal sections at different depths and profiles,and at different lines,reflect the 3D electrical structure model of the geothermal field in the study area.Subsequently,three findings were obtained.First,the partial melt body,located below the China-Nepal Highway extending along the northeast direction,is the heat source of the Yangbajain Geothermal Field.The burial depth range of the molten body was determined to range between approximately 6.2 and 14 km.Moreover,the geothermal fluid ascended a horn-shaped circulation channel with an up-facing opening,located in the northern section of the sulfur ditch area.The study results revealed that deep rock fissures(>2 km) were not well developed and had poor permeability.In addition,no layered heat reservoirs with high water richness were observed in the northern part of the study area.However,the application of enhanced geothermal system(EGS) technology in the northern region would be essential to improving the power generation capacity of the Yangbajain Geothermal Field.In addition,the study found no deep high-temperature heat storage areas in the southern region of the study area. | Guoqiang XUE Weiying CHEN Ping ZHAO Wangqi REN Yiming HE Pengfei LV Kangxin LEI Yang ZHAO | 2023 | Science China Earth Sciences2023,66,8: | 0 |
| 20 | Damage characterization of shale under uniaxial compression by acoustic emission monitoring显示文摘Understanding the damage behavior and cracking mechanism of brittle shale is crucial for hydraulic fracturing design.In this research,uniaxial compression tests are conducted on shale samples with different bedding plane orientations,and acoustic emission monitoring is implemented synchronously.The results indicate that the apparent elastic modulus increases with increasing bedding orientation.For the bedding orienta-tions of 45°and 90°,the lateral deformation is anisotropic due to the bedding structure,revealing the anisotropic Poisson effect.A shear failure surface and tensile failure surfaces form parallel to the bedding plane for bedding orientations of 45°and 90°,respectively.For the bedding orientation of 0°,shear failure mainly occurs through the bedding planes.Additionally,the damage mechanism of shale is investigated by crack classification based on AE parameters.It is found that crack initiation is induced by the generation of shear cracks for the bedding orientation of 45°,whereas by the generation of tensile cracks for other bedding orientations.According to damage attributable to different type cracks,shear cracks dominate the damage behavior for bedding orientations of 0°and 45°,whereas tensile cracks dominate the damage behavior for bedding orientation of 90°.Finally,the information entropy is calculated by AE energy.A low value of information entropy,approximately 0.36,predicts failure with a low degree of instability for the bedding orientation of 0°,whereas a high value of information entropy,more than 1.5,predicts failure with a high degree of instability for other bedding orientations.This finding indicates that the failure behavior is gradual progressive damage for bedding orientation of 0°,whereas sudden damage dominates failure behavior for other bedding orientations. | Huijun LU Ru ZHANG Li REN Anlin ZHANG Yiming YANG Xiaopeng LI | 2021 | Frontiers of Earth Science2021,15,4: | 0 |
