1Antigenic variation of the human influenza A(H3N2) virus during the 2014–2015 winter season显示文摘The human influenza A(H3N2) virus dominated the 2014–2015 winter season in many countries and caused massive morbidity and mortality because of its antigenic variation. So far, very little is known about the antigenic patterns of the recent H3N2 virus. By systematically mapping the antigenic relationships of H3N2 strains isolat ed since 2010, we discov ered that two groups with obvious antigenic divergence, named SW13(A/Switzerland/9715293/2013-like strains) and HK14(A/Hong Kong/5738/2014-like strains), co-circulated during the 2014–2015 winter season. HK14 group co-circulated with SW13 in Europe and the United States during this season, while there were few strains of HK14 in China's Mainland, where SW13 has dominated since 2012. Furthermore, we found that substitutions near the receptor-binding site on hemagglutinin played an important role in the antigenic variation of both the groups. 2Design of sandwich-structured ZnO/ZnS/Au photoanode for enhanced efficiency of photoelectrochemical wate splitting显示文摘We developed and demonstrated a ZnO/ZnS/Au composite photoanode with significantly enhanced photoelectrochemical water-splitting performance, con- taining a ZnS interlayer and Au nanoparticles. The solar-to-hydrogen conversion efficiency of this ZnO/ZnS/Au heterostructure reached 0.21%, 3.5 times that of pristine ZnO. The comparison of the incident photon-to-current efficiency (IPCE) and the photoresponse in the white and visible light regions further verified that the enhancement resulted from contributions of both UV and visible light. The modification of the Au NPs was shown to improve the photoelectrochemical (PEC) performance to both UV and visible light, as modification encouraged effective surface passivation and surface-plasmon- resonance effects. The ZnS interlayer favored the movement of photogenerated electrons under UV light and hot electrons under visible light, causing their injection into ZnO; this simultaneously suppressed the electron-hole recombination at the photoanode-electrolyte interface. 3Rapid removal of bisphenol A on highly ordered mesoporous carbon显示文摘Bisphenol A (BPA) is of global concern due to its disruption of endocrine systems and ubiquity in the aquatic environment.It is important,therefore,that efforts are made to remove it from the aqueous phase.A novel adsorbent,mesoporous carbon CMK-3,prepared from hexagonal SBA-15 mesoporous silica was studied for BPA removal from aqueous phase,and compared with conventional powdered activated carbon (PAC).Characterization of CMK-3 by transmission electron microscopy (TEM),X-ray diffraction,and nitrogen adsorption indicated that prepared CMK-3 had an ordered mesoporous structure with a high specific surface area of 920 m 2 /g and a pore-size of about 4.9 nm.The adsorption of BPA on CMK-3 followed a pseudo second-order kinetic model.The kinetic constant was 0.00049 g/(mg·min),much higher than the adsorption of BPA on PAC.The adsorption isotherm fitted slightly better with the Freundlich model than the Langmuir model,and adsorption capacity decreased as temperature increased from 10 to 40°C.No significant influence of pH on adsorption was observed at pH 3 to 9;however,adsorption capacity decreased dramatically from pH 9 to 13.Qian Sui Jun Huang Yousong Liu Xiaofeng Chang Guangbin Ji Shubo Deng Tao Xie Gang Yu 2011Journal of Environmental Sciences2011,23,2:8

5Nematode-Encoded RALF Peptide Mimics Facilitate Parasitism of Plants through the FERONIA Receptor Kinase显示文摘The molecular mechanism by which plants defend against plant root-knot nematodes(RKNs)is largely unknown.The plant receptor kinase FERONIA and its peptide ligands,rapid alkalinization factors(RALFs),regulate plant immune responses and cell expansion,which are two important factors for successful RKN parasitism.In this study,we found that mutation of FERONIA in Arabidopsis thaliana resulted in plants showing low susceptibility to the RKN Meloidogyne incognita.To identify the underlying mechanisms associated with this phenomenon,we identified 18 novel RALF-likes from multiple species of RKNs and showed that two RALF-likes(i.e.,MiRALF1 and MiRALF3)from M.incognita were expressed in the esophageal gland with high expression during the parasitic stages of nematode development.These nematode RALF-likes also possess the typical activities of plant RALFs and can directly bind to the extracellular domain of FERONIA to modulate specific steps of nematode parasitism-related immune responses and cell expansion.Genetically,both MiRALF1/3 and FERONIA are required for RKN parasitism in Arabidopsis and rice.Collectively,our study suggests that nematode-encoded RALFs facilitate parasitism via plant-encoded FERONIA and provides a novel paradigm for studying host-pathogen interactions.Xin Zhang Huan Peng Sirui Zhu Junjie Xing Xin Li Zhaozhong Zhu Jingyuan Zheng Long Wang Bingqian Wang Jia Chen Zhenhua Ming Ke Yao Jinzhuo Jian Sheng Luan Devin Coleman-Derr Hongdong Liao Yousong Peng Deliang Peng Feng Yu 2020Molecular Plant2020,13,10:3
6Molecular phylogeography and population genetic structure of the planktonic copepod Calanus sinicus Brodsky in the coastal waters of China显示文摘Planktonic copepod Calanus sinicus is the dominant meso-zooplankton in the Northwest Pacific Ocean. To better understand its population dynamics and phylogeographic patterns, 243 C. sinicus individuals were collected from seven locations across the shelf waters of China and its population genetics was studied by mitochondrial DNA cytochrome oxidase I(mtCOI) sequences analyses. Thirty-nine different sequences, or haplotypes, were detected with moderate haplotype diversity(h=0.749) and low nucleotide diversity(π=0.003) for all populations. The evolutionary divergence between geographic populations varied from 0.24% to 0.37%, indicative of very limited genetic differentiation. Visualized minimum spanning network(MSN) and phylogenetic analysis of all the detected haplotypes did not reveal any clear phylogeographic pattern. Furthermore, AMOVA data showed no significant spatial population differentiation existed among the individuals collected across China shelf waters. Pairwise FST values showed that population collected from northwest of the East China Sea(ECS) displayed a low difference to other populations. Mismatch distribution analyses and neutrality tests indicated that C. sinicus might undergo a demographic/population expansion. No significant population genetic structuring was detected, indicating an extensive gene flow among the C. sinicus populations. 7ABNORMAL MAGNETIC BEHAVIOR IN DMS ZN_(1-X)MN_XO NANOWIRES显示文摘Zn1xMnxO nanowires were synthesized through chemical vapor deposition of pure Zn and MnCl2 power mixtures on silicon substrates. The morphology, structure and composition were meas-ured by SEM, TEM, EDX and XRD. Magnetic proper-ties were measured by SQUID. The results show that the nanowires exhibit clear ferromagnetic behavior at low temperature. 10Increased plasma leptin as a novel predictor for psychopathological depressive symptoms in chronic schizophrenia显示文摘Background Depressive symptoms are often seen in schizophrenia. The overlap in presentation makes it difficult to distinguish depressive symptoms from the negative symptoms of schizophrenia. The adipokine leptin was found to be altered in both depression and schizophrenia. There are few studies focusing on the prediction of leptin in diagnosis and evaluation of depressive symptoms in schizophrenia.ObjectiveAims To assess the plasma leptin level in patients with schizophrenia and its relationships with depressive symptoms.Methods Cross-sectional studies were applied to(1) compare the levels of plasma leptin between schizophrenia(n=74) and healthy controls(n=50); and(2)investigate the relationship between plasma leptin levels and depressive subscores.Results(1) Plasma leptin levels were significantly higher in patients with schizophrenia than in healthy controls.(2) Correlation analysis revealed a significant negative association between leptin levels and the depressed factor scores on the Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale(PANSS).(3) Stepwise multiple regression analyses identified leptin as an influencing factor for depressed factor score on PANSS.Conclusion Leptin may serve as a predictor for the depressive symptoms of chronic schizophrenia.Jinjie Xu Yumei Jiao Mengjuan Xing Yezhe Lin Yousong Su Wenhua Ding Cuizhen Zhu Yanmin Peng Dake Qi Donghong Cui 2018General Psychiatry2018,31,6:1

15Reduction of Coercivity of Fe-N Soft Magnetic Film by Heat Treatment显示文摘200 nm thick Fe-N magnetic thin films were deposited on glass substrates by RF sputtering. The as-deposited films havehigh saturation magnetization but their coercivity is also higher than what is needed Therefore it is very important to reducecoercivity. The samples were vacuum annealed at 250℃ under 12000 A/m magnetic field. When the N content was in therange of 5~7 at. pct, the thin films consisted of α′ + α″ after heat treatment and had excellent soft magnetic properties of4rMs=2.4 T, HC <80 A/m. However, the thickness of a recording head was 2μm, andHc increased as thickness increased.In order to reduce the Hc, the sputtering power was raised from 200 W to 1000 W to reduce the grain size. 2μm Fe-N thinfilms were vacuum annealed under the same condition, when the N content was in the range of 5.9~8.5 at. pct, the thin filmskept its excellent magnetic properties of 4πMs=2.2 T, HC <80 A/m. 17Stereo mapping of Ming Great Wall with remote sensing显示文摘Listed by UNESCO in 1987 as a World Heritage site,the world-famous Ming Great Wall stretches several thousands of kilometers across northern China,and served as a massive military defensive system which in recent times has a unique historical,artistic and scientific value.Due to historical reasons and lack of advanced technologies,construction resources and conservation status of Ming Great Wall have not been investigated in any systematic manner;indeed,the extent of the Great Wall has not even been measured.This has resulted in a shortage of reliable first-hand scientific information on actual size,spatially resource distribution and preservation status of this World Heritage site.Driven by the urgent need to establish protection,research,renovation and management of Ming Great Wall,a comprehensive investigation and spatial mapping was jointly organized and completed by the State Bureau of Survey and Mapping and State Administration of Culture Heritage.High resolution digital stereo models at 1:10000 map scale covering the whole length of the Ming Great Wall have been created by photogrammetric reconstruction using nearly ten thousand aerial images.Spatial distribution and attributes of the wall sections,trenches and various subsidiary facilities in the surroundings of the Great Wall were measured with the help of digital photogrammetry workstations and results from field studies.Reliable and precise information about the Ming Great Wall has now been obtained and documented,including surface lengths,resource distribution,and preservation status.For example,the total length of Ming Great Wall is 8851.8 km,of which 6259.6 km is of actual wall,2232.5 km of natural terrain,and 359.7 km of trenches.In category lengths,1828.8 km is constructed of stone,3411.3 km of earth,249.6 km in brick,197.5 km of cliff wall and the rest 572.4 km of other means.Such information provides the scientific basis and strong platform in helping to delineate areas needing protection,in planning conservation and renovation programs,as well as digital archiving for posterity and web-based applications for modern promotions of one of the world's great attractions,the Ming Great Wall.CHEN Jun JIN ShuPing LIAO AnPing ZHAO YouSong ZHANG HongWei RONG DaWei YANG ZhaoJun 2010Chinese Science Bulletin2010,55,21:1
