1Design of sandwich-structured ZnO/ZnS/Au photoanode for enhanced efficiency of photoelectrochemical wate splitting显示文摘We developed and demonstrated a ZnO/ZnS/Au composite photoanode with significantly enhanced photoelectrochemical water-splitting performance, con- taining a ZnS interlayer and Au nanoparticles. The solar-to-hydrogen conversion efficiency of this ZnO/ZnS/Au heterostructure reached 0.21%, 3.5 times that of pristine ZnO. The comparison of the incident photon-to-current efficiency (IPCE) and the photoresponse in the white and visible light regions further verified that the enhancement resulted from contributions of both UV and visible light. The modification of the Au NPs was shown to improve the photoelectrochemical (PEC) performance to both UV and visible light, as modification encouraged effective surface passivation and surface-plasmon- resonance effects. The ZnS interlayer favored the movement of photogenerated electrons under UV light and hot electrons under visible light, causing their injection into ZnO; this simultaneously suppressed the electron-hole recombination at the photoanode-electrolyte interface. 2Abundance of antibiotic resistance genes and their association with bacterial communities in activated sludge of wastewater treatment plants: Geographical distribution and network analysis显示文摘Wastewater treatment plants(WWTPs) are deemed reservoirs of antibiotic resistance genes(ARGs). Bacterial phylogeny can shape the resistome in activated sludge. However, the co-occurrence and interaction of ARGs abundance and bacterial communities in different WWTPs located at continental scales are still not comprehensively understood. Here, we applied quantitative PCR and Miseq sequence approaches to unveil the changing profiles of ARGs(sul1, sul2, tet W, tet Q, tet X), int I1 gene, and bacterial communities in 18 geographically distributed WWTPs. The results showed that the average relative abundance of sul1 and sul2 genes were 2.08 × 10^(-1) and 1.32 × 10^(-1) copies/16 S rRNA copies, respectively. The abundance of tet W gene was positively correlated with the Shannon diversity index(H′), while both studied sul genes had significant positive relationship with the int I1 gene. The highest average relative abundances of sul1, sul2, tet X, and int I1 genes were found in south region and oxidation ditch system. Network analysis found that 16 bacterial genera co-occurred with tet W gene. Co-occurrence patterns were revealed distinct community interactions between aerobic/anoxic/aerobic and oxidation ditch systems. The redundancy analysis model plot of the bacterial community composition clearly demonstrated that the sludge samples were significant differences among those from the different geographical areas,and the shifts in bacterial community composition were correlated with ARGs. 3A fundamental theorem for eco-environmental surface modelling and its applications显示文摘We propose a fundamental theorem for eco-environmental surface modelling(FTEEM) in order to apply it into the fields of ecology and environmental science more easily after the fundamental theorem for Earth’s surface system modeling(FTESM). The Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei(BTH) region is taken as a case area to conduct empirical studies of algorithms for spatial upscaling, spatial downscaling, spatial interpolation, data fusion and model-data assimilation, which are based on high accuracy surface modelling(HASM), corresponding with corollaries of FTEEM. The case studies demonstrate how eco-environmental surface modelling is substantially improved when both extrinsic and intrinsic information are used along with an appropriate method of HASM. Compared with classic algorithms, the HASM-based algorithm for spatial upscaling reduced the root-meansquare error of the BTH elevation surface by 9 m. The HASM-based algorithm for spatial downscaling reduced the relative error of future scenarios of annual mean temperature by 16%. The HASM-based algorithm for spatial interpolation reduced the relative error of change trend of annual mean precipitation by 0.2%. The HASM-based algorithm for data fusion reduced the relative error of change trend of annual mean temperature by 70%. The HASM-based algorithm for model-data assimilation reduced the relative error of carbon stocks by 40%. 5Constructing Rough Set Based Unbalanced Binary Tree for Feature Selection显示文摘Feature selection is one of the challenging problems facing data analysis in areas such as pattern recognition, data mining, and decision support. Many rough set algorithms for feature selection have been developed, most of which are essentially dependent on the definite information contained within the lower approximation. This paper proposes a novel approach, called Unbalanced binary tree based feature selection(UBT-FS), which utilizes the indefinite information contained within rough set boundary region for reduction. UBT-FS designs the underlying mechanism for obtaining the boundary region from the unbalanced binary tree and adopts the boundary region based significance for determining the optimal search path as well as the boundary region based evaluation criterion for identifying feature subsets. 7Facile Approach to Synthesize Gold Nanorod@Polyacrylic Acid/Calcium Phosphate Yolk–Shell Nanoparticles for Dual-Mode Imaging and pH/NIR-Responsive Drug Delivery显示文摘A facile strategy to fabricate gold nanorod@polyacrylic acid/calcium phosphate(Au NR@-PAA/Ca P) yolk–shell nanoparticles(NPs) composed with a PAA/Ca P shell and an Au NR yolk is reported. The asobtained Au NR@PAA/Ca P yolk–shell NPs possess ultrahigh doxorubicin(DOX) loading capability(1 mg DOX/mg NPs), superior photothermal conversion property(26%)and p H/near-infrared(NIR) dual-responsive drug delivery performance. The released DOX continuously increased due to the damage of the Ca P shell at low p H values. When the DOX-loaded Au NR@PAA/Ca P yolk–shell NPs wereexposed to NIR irradiation, a burst-like drug release occurs owing to the heat produced by the Au NRs. Furthermore,Au NR@PAA/Ca P yolk–shell NPs are successfully employed for synergic dual-mode X-ray computed tomography/photoacoustic imaging and chemo-photothermal cancer therapy. 8Electron-phonon coupling-assisted universal red luminescence of o-phenylenediamine-based carbon dots显示文摘Due to the complex core-shell structure and variety of surface functional groups,the photoluminescence(PL)mechanism of carbon dots(CDs)remain unclear.o-Phenylenediamine(oPD),as one of the most common precursors for preparing red emissive CDs,has been extensively studied.Interestingly,most of the red emission CDs based on oPD have similar PL emission characteristics.Herein,we prepared six different oPD-based CDs and found that they had almost the same PL emission and absorption spectra after purifiication.Structural and spectral characterization indicated that they had similar carbon core structures but diffferent surface polymer shells.Furthermore,single-molecule PL spectroscopy confirmed that the multi-modal emission of those CDs originated from the transitions of different vibrational energy levels of the same PL center in the carbon core.In addition,the phenomenon of'spectral splitting'of single-particle CDs was observed at low temperature,which confirmed these oPD-based CDs were unique materials with properties of both organic molecules and quantum dots.Finally,theoretical calculations revealed their potential polymerization mode and carbon core structure.Moreover,we proposed the PL mechanism of red-emitting CDs based on oPD precursors;that is,the carbon core regulates the PL emission,and the polymer shell regulates the PL intensity.Our work resolves the controversy on the PL mechanism of oPD-based red CDs.These findings provide a general guide for the mechanism exploration and structural analysis of other types of CDs.Boyang Wang Zhihong Wei Laizhi Sui Jingkun Yu Baowei Zhang Xiaoyong Wang Shengnan Feng Haoqiang Song Xue Yong Yuxi Tian Bai Yang Siyu Lu 2022Light(Science & Applications)2022,11,7:2

10Copper nanowire with enriched high‐index facets for highly selective CO_(2) reduction显示文摘Electroreduction of carbon dioxide into fuels and feedstocks with renewable energy is an attractive route to mitigate carbon emission and solve energy crisis.However,how to improve the selectivity of high‐value multicarbon products is still challenging.Here,we demonstrate that the high‐index crystalline surface of copper could be designed and obtained through a simple square‐wave potential treatment on copper nanowires,which is beneficial to improve the selectivity of multi‐carbon products,especially the reaction route towards ethylene.The Faradaic efficiency of C_(2+)products can reach nearly 60%,and hydrogen can be suppressed to below 20%.Density functional theory(DFT)calculations reveal that(311)high‐index facet can activate CO_(2) effectively and promote adsorption of the*COCOH intermediate on copper for ethylene formation,therefore improves the selectivity of ethylene and inhibits the competing hydrogen evolution reaction.This method can be extended to the design of other catalytic systems and has inspirations for other electrochemical catalytic reactions.Lu Han Benqiang Tian Xiangxiang Gao Yang Zhong Shengnan Wang Shuchang Song Zhili Wang Ying Zhang Yun Kuang Xiaoming Sun 2022SmartMat2022,3,1:2

12Salt-tolerant mechanism of marine Aspergillus niger cellulase cocktail and improvement of its activity显示文摘The cellulase cocktail produced by marine Aspergillus niger exhibits a property of salt-tolerance,which is of great potential in cellulose degradation in high salt environment.In order to explain the mechanism on the salttolerance of the cellulase cocktail produced by marine A.niger,six cellulase components(AnCel6,AnCel7A,AnCel7B,AnEGL,AnBGL1 and AnBGL2)were obtained by directed expression.Studies on their enzymatic properties revealed that oneβ-glucosidase(AnBGL2)and one endoglucanase(AnEGL)exhibited an outstanding salttolerant property,and one cellobiohydrolase(AnCel7B)exhibited a certain salt-tolerant property.Subsequent study revealed that the salt-tolerant An EGL and AnCel7B endowed the cellulase cocktail with stronger salttolerant property,while the salt-tolerant An BGL2 had no positive effect.Moreover,after overexpression of AnCel6,AnCel7A,AnCel7B and AnEGL,the activity of cellulase cocktail increased by 80%,70%,63%and 68%,respectively.However,the activity of cellulase cocktail was not improved after overexpression of AnBGL1 and AnBGL2.After mixed-strain fermentation with cellobiohydrolase recombinants(cel6 a,cel7a and cel7b recombinants)and endoglucanase recombinant(egl recombinant),the the activity of cellulase cocktail increased by 114%,102%and91%,respectively.Linian Cai Shengnan Xu Tao Lu Dongqiang Lin Shanjing Yao 2020Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2020,28,4:2
13SARS-CoV-2 impairs the disassembly of stress granules and promotes ALS-associated amyloid aggregation显示文摘The nucleocapsid(N)protein of SARS-CoV-2 has been reported to have a high ability of liquid-liquid phase separation,which enables its incorporation into stress granules(SGs)of host cells.However,whether SG invasion by N protein occurs in the scenario of SARS-CoV-2 infection is unknow,neither do we know its con-sequence.Here,we used SARS-CoV-2 to infect mam-malian cells and observed the incorporation of N protein into SGs,which resulted in markedly impaired self-dis-assembly but stimulated cell cellular clearance of SGs.NMR experiments further showed that N protein binds to the SG-related amyloid proteins via non-specific tran-sient interactions,which not only expedites the phase transition of these proteins to aberrant amyloid aggre-gation in vitro,but also promotes the aggregation of FUS with ALS-associated P525L mutation in cells.In addition,we found that ACE2 is not necessary for the infection of SARS-CoV-2 to mammalian cells.Our work indicates that SARS-CoV-2 infection can impair the dis-assembly of host SGs and promote the aggregation of SG-related amyloid proteins,which may lead to an increased risk of neurodegeneration.Yichen Li Shuaiyao Lu Jinge Gu Wencheng Xia Shengnan Zhang Shenqing Zhang Yan Wang Chong Zhang Yunpeng Sun Jian Lei Cong Liu Zhaoming Su Juntao Yang Xiaozhong Peng Dan Li 2022Protein & Cell2022,13,8:1
14miR-199-5p regulates spermiogenesis at the posttranscriptional level via targeting Tekt1 in allotriploid crucian carp显示文摘Background:Sperm abnormalities are one of the primary factors leading to male sterility,but their pathogenesis is still unclear.Although miRNAs are suggested to exert important roles in the regulation of spermatogenesis at both transcriptional and posttranscriptional levels,little is currently known regarding the regulation of sperm flagella assembly by microRNAs(miRNAs).The role of miRNAs in the development of sperm abnormalities in sterile triploid fish has not been studied.Results:In this study,we found that miR-199-5p was widely expressed in all detected tissues of different-ploidy crucian carp.As one of the testis-specific candidate markers,Tekt1 was predominantly expressed in the testis.Quantitative real-time PCR(qRT-PCR)analyses showed that the expression trend of miR-199-5p was exactly opposite to that of Tekt1.Through bioinformatics analysis,we identified a putative miR-199-5p binding site in the Tekt1 mRNA.We further identified Tekt1 as a target of miR-199-5p using luciferase reporter assay.Finally,we confirmed that miR-199-5p was necessary for sperm flagellar assembly and spermatogenesis in vivo via intraperitoneal injection of miR-199-5p antagomir or agomir in diploid red crucian carp.Moreover,miR-199-5p gainof-function could lead to spermatids apoptosis and abnormal spermatozoa structure,which is similar to that of allotriploid crucian carp.Conclusions:Our studies suggested that abnormally elevated miR-199-5p inhibited the sperm flagella formation in spermiogenesis by negatively regulating the expression of Tekt1,thereby causing sperm abnormalities of male allotriploid crucian carp.Shengnan Li Qiubei Wang Lu Huang Siyu Fan Ting Li Yuqing Shu Chun Zhang Yi Zhou Qingfeng Liu Kaikun Luo Min Tao Shaojun Liu 2022Journal of Animal Science and Biotechnology2022,13,5:1

19The collaboration between infectious disease modeling and public health decision-making based on the COVID-19显示文摘Public health decision-making may have great uncertainty especially in dealing with emerging infectious diseases,so it is necessary to establish a collaborative mechanism among modelers,epidemiologists,and public health decision-makers to reduce the uncertainty as much as possible.We searched the relevant studies on transmission dynamics modeling of infectious diseases,SARS,MERS,and COVID-19 as of March 1,2021 based on PubMed.We compared the key health decision-making time points of SARS,MERS,and COVID-19 prevention and control,and the publication time points of modeling research,to reveal the collaboration between infectious disease modeling and public health decision-making in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic.Searching with infectious disease and mathematical model as keywords,there were 166,81 and 1289 studies on the modeling of infectious disease transmission dynamics of SARS,MERS,and COVID-19 were retrieved respectively.Based on the modeling application framework of public health practice proposed in the current study,the collaboration among modelers,epidemiologists and public health decision-makers should be strengthened in the future.Yan Niu Zhuoyang Li Ling Meng Shengnan Wang Zeyu Zhao Tie Song Jianhua Lu Tianmu Chen Qun Li Xuan Zou 2021Journal of Safety Science and Resilience2021,2,2:1
