| 1 | Isolation of marine benzo[a]pyrene-degrading Ochrobactrum sp. BAP5 and proteins characterization显示文摘A bacterial strain BAP5 with a relatively high degradation ability of benzo[a]pyrene (BaP) was isolated from marine sediments of Xiamen Western Sea, China and identified as Ochrobactrum sp. according to 16S rRNA gene sequence as well as Biolog microbial identification system. Strain BAP5 could grow in mineral salt medium with 50 mg/L of BaP and degrade about 20% BaP after 30 d of incubation. Ochrobactrum sp. BAP5 was able to utilize other polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) (such as phenanthrene, pyrene and fluoranthene) as the sole carbon source and energy source, suggesting its potential application in PAHs bioremediation. The profile of total soluble protein from Ochrobactrum sp. BAP5 was also investigated. | 2 | Impact of environmental factors on water quality at multiple spatial scales and its spatial variation in Huai River Basin, China显示文摘Quantitative assessment of water quality and its spatial variation identification, as well as the discernment of primary factors affecting water quality are in its urgent in water environment management. In this study, four key water quality indicators,namely, ammonia nitrogen(NH_4^+-N), permanganate index(COD_(Mn)), total phosphorus(TP) and total nitrogen(TN) at 71 sampling sites were selected to evaluate water quality and its spatial variation identification. More concerns were emphasized on the anthropogenic factors(land use pattern) and natural factors(river density, elevation and precipitation) to quantify the overall water quality variations at different spatial scales. Results showed that the Yi-Shu-Si River sub-basin had a better water quality status than the Huai River sub-basin. The moderate polluted area nearly distributed in the upper and middle reaches of the Shaying River and Guo River. The high cluster centers which were surrounded with COD_(Mn), NH_4^+-N, TN and TP mainly also distributed in the upper and middle reaches of the Shaying River and Guo River. Redundancy analysis showed that the 200 m buffer area acted as the most sensitive area, which was easily subjected to pollution. The precipitation was identified as the most important variables among all the studied hydrological units, followed by farmland, urban land or elevation. The point source pollution was still existed although the non-point source pollution was also identified. The urban surface runoff pollution was severer than farmland fertilizer loss at the sub-basin scale in flood season, while the farmland showed 'small-scale' effects for explaining overall water quality variations. | 3 | Single track and single layer formation in selective laser melting of niobium solid solution alloy显示文摘Selective laser melting(SLM) was employed to fabricate Nb-37 Ti-13 Cr-2 Al-1 Si(at%)alloy, using pre-alloyed powders prepared by plasma rotating electrode processing(PREP). A series of single tracks and single layers under different processing parameters was manufactured to evaluate the processing feasibility by SLM, including laser power, scanning speed, and hatch distance.Results showed that continuous single tracks could be fabricated using proper laser powers and scanning velocities. Both the width of a single track and its penetration depth into a substrate increased with an increase of the linear laser beam energy density(LED), i.e., an increase of the laser power and a decrease of the scanning speed. Nb, Ti, Si, Cr, and Al elements distributed heterogeneously over the melt pool in the form of swirl-like patterns. An excess of the hatch distance was not able to interconnect neighboring tracks. Under improper processing parameters, a balling phenomenon occurred, but could be eliminated with an increased LED. | 4 | Damming effects on dissolved inorganic carbon in different kinds of reservoirs in Jialing River,Southwest China显示文摘To assess the effects of river damming on dissolved inorganic carbon in the Jialing River, a total of 40 water samples, including inflow, outflow, and stratified water in four cascade reservoirs(Tingzikou, Xinzheng,Dongxiguan, Caojie) were collected in January and July,2016. The major cations, anions, and δ^(13)C_(DIC) values were analyzed. It was found that the dissolved compositions are dominated by carbonate weathering, while sulfuric acids may play a relatively important role during carbonate weathering and increasing DIC concentration. Different reservoirs had variable characteristics of water physiochemical stratification. The DIC concentrations of reservoir water were lower in summer than those in winter due to the dilute effects and intensive aquatic photosynthesis, as well as imported tributaries. The δ^(13)C_(DIC) values in Tingzikou Reservoir were higher during summer than those in winter,which indicated that intensive photosynthesis increased the δ^(13)C_(DIC) values in residual water, but a similar trend was not obvious in other reservoirs. Except for in Xinzheng Reservoir, the δ^(13)C_(DIC) values in inflow and outflow reservoir water were lower than those in the surface water of stratified sampling in summer. For stratified sampling, it could be found that, in summer, the Tingzikou Reservoir δ^(13)C_(DIC) values significantly decreased with water depthdue to the anaerobic breakdown of organic matter. The significant correlation(p<0.01 or 0.05) between the DIC concentrations, the δ^(13)C_(DIC) values and anthropogenic species(Na^++K^+, Cl~–, SO_4^(2-) and NO_3^-) showed that the isotope composition of DIC can be a useful tracer of contaminants. In total, Tingzikou Reservoir showed lacustrine features, Xinzheng Reservoir and Dongxiguan Reservoir had 'transitional'' features, and Caojie Reservoir had a total of 'fluvial'' features. Generally, cascade reservoirs in the Jialing River exhibited natural river features rather than typical lake features due to characteristics of reservoir water in physiochemical stratification, spatiotemporal variations of DIC concentrations and isotopic compositions. | 5 | Cholecystokinin octapeptide antagonizes apoptosis in human retinal pigment epithelial cells显示文摘Although cholecystokinin octapeptide-8 is important for neurological function, its neuroprotective properties remain unclear. We speculated that cholecystokinin octapeptide-8 can protect human retinal pigment epithelial cells against oxidative injury. In this study, retinal pigment epithelial cells were treated with peroxynitrite to induce oxidative stress. Peroxynitrite triggered apoptosis in these cells, and increased the expression of Fas-associated death domain, Bax, caspase-8 and Bcl-2. These changes were suppressed by treatment with cholecystokinin octapeptide-8. | 9 | Environmental,social,and economic assessment of energy utilization of crop residue in China显示文摘This paper aims to discuss an environmental, social, and economic analysis of energy utilization of crop residues from life cycle perspectives in China. The methodologies employed to achieve this objective are environmental life cycle assessment (E-LCA), life cycle cost (LCC), and social life cycle assessment (S-LCA). Five scenarios are developed based on the conversion technologies and final bioenergy products. The system boundaries include crop residue collection, transportation, pre-treatment, and conversion process. The replaced amounts of energy are also taken into account in the E-LCA analysis. The functional unit is defined as 1 MJ of energy produced. Eight impact categories are considered besides climate change in E-LCA. The investment capital cost and salary cost are collected and compared in the life cycle of the scenarios. Three stakeholders and several subcategories are considered in the S-LCA analysis defined by UNEP/SETAS guidelines. The results show that the energy utilization of crop residue has carbon emission factors of 0.09–0.18 kg (CO2 eq per 1 MJ), and presents a net carbon emissions reduction of 0.03–0.15 kg (CO2 eq per 1 MJ) compared with the convectional electricity or petrol, but the other impacts should be paid attention to in the biomass energy scenarios. | 10 | Identifying the roles of Ce^(3+)-OH and Ce-H in the reverse water-gas shift reaction over highly active Ni-doped CeO_(2) catalyst显示文摘Nickel-CeO_(2)-based materials are commonly used for the thermal catalytic hydrogenation of CO_(2).However,high Ni loadings and low CO selectivity restrict their use in the reverse water–gas shift(RWGS)reaction.Herein,we demonstrate a highly active,robust,and low-Ni-doped(1.1 wt.%)CeO_(2) catalyst(1.0-Ni-CeO_(2)).The Ni-based-mass-specific CO formation rate reaches up to 1,542 mmol·gNi^(−1)·h^(−1) with 100%CO selectivity at 300°C for 100 h,among the best values reported in the literature.Density functional theory(DFT)and diffuse reflectance infrared Fourier transform spectroscopy(DRIFTS)results reveal that the enhanced catalytic activity is attributed to the abundant Ce–H species,while the high selectivity results from low CO affinity.More importantly,a new reaction mechanism is proposed,which involves the reduction of bicarbonate to generate formate intermediate and CO by the H−released from Ce–H species.The new findings in this work will benefit the design of economic,efficient,and robust catalysts for low-temperature RWGS reactions. | Haidong Shen Yujuan Dong Shaowei Yang Yuan He Qimeng Wang Yueling Cao Wenbin Wang Tianshuai Wang Qiuyu Zhang Hepeng Zhang | 2022 | Nano Research2022,15,7: | 1 |

| 13 | Morphological Heredity of Intermetallic Nb_(5)Si_(3)Dendrites in Hypereutectic Nb-Si Based Alloys via Non-Equilibrium Solidification显示文摘For hypereutectic Nb-Si based alloys,primary Nb_(5)Si_(3)phases typically grow in a faceted mode during equilibrium or near-equilibrium solidification,which damages the ductility and toughness.To address this issue,here we artificially manipulate the growth morphology of Nb_(5)Si_(3)using electron beam surface melting(EBSM)and subsequent annealing treatments.Results show that such a non-equilibrium solidification pathway enables the transition from faceted growth to non-faceted dendritic growth of Nb_(5)Si_(3),along with evident microstructure refinement,generation of metastableβ-Nb_(5)Si_(3)phases and elimination of chemical segregation.The transformation fromβ-Nb_(5)Si_(3)toα-Nb_(5)Si_(3)and Nb solid solution(Nbss)particles is triggered by the annealing treatment at 1450°C for 5 h.Also,we find the annealing-mediated formation of inherited Nb_(5)Si_(3)dendrites that maintain the dendritic morphology of the original as-solidifiedβ-Nb_(5)Si_(3)dendrites.This work thus provides a feasible routine to obtain thermally stable and refinedα-Nb_(5)Si_(3)dendrites in hypereutectic Nb-Si based alloys. | Yueling Guo Lina Jia Wenjun Lu Hu Zhang | 2022 | Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering2022,35,5: | 0 |
| 14 | Myo-inositol accelerates the metamorphosis from megalopa to crablet of Scylla paramamosain by modulating cuticle decomposition and reconstruction显示文摘The mud crab Scylla paramamosain is a key species in China due to its high nutritional value and great economic worth and has grown in popularity.Myo-inositol can modulate versatile physiological functions in aquatic animals.In the present study,S.paramamosain megalopa were given graded concentrations of myo-inositol(0,1,2,4,and 8 ppm)by water immersion to explore how their metamorphosis would be affected.The results showed that supplementing with myo-inositol remarkably increased transformation and survival rate from megalopa to crablet by at least 1.16 and 1.26 times,respectively.To decipher the molecular mechanism of how myo-inositol increases metamorphosis and survival rate,we further performed transcriptome-based gene expression profiling of both megalopa and crablet treated with myo-inositol.The integrative transcriptome analyses predicted that the differentially expressed genes(DEGs)were significantly enriched in chitinase activity,structural constituent of cuticle,and chitin binding,which are associated with the decomposition and reconstruction of cuticle.qPCR results confirmed that myo-inositol mediated gene expression levels of the above cuticle-related pathways.Considering the importance of the cuticle in exoskeleton formation and molting,it can be concluded that myo-inositol-induced changes in the cuticle decomposition and reconstruction might have accelerated the transformation from megalopa to crablet of S.paramamosain.Besides,numerous DEGs were significantly enriched in protein digestion and absorption,amino sugar and nucleotide sugar metabolism.It implies that myo-inositol may improve survival by regulating energy or nutrient absorption.Additionally,the accelerated metamorphosis by myo-inositol may improve survival from megalopa to crablet of S.paramamosain.Overall,this study will provide the first insights into the underlying molecular mechanisms by which myo-inositol increases metamorphosis and survival. | Wenxiao Cui Hafiz Sohaib Ahmed Saqib Weifeng Gao Ruibo Wang Yang He Yang Yu Zhen Lin Qingyu Zhang Yin Zhang Shengkang Li Huaiping Zheng Yueling Zhang Mhd Ikhwanuddin Hongyu Ma | 2023 | Aquaculture and Fisheries2023,8,6: | 0 |
| 15 | Geological Structure and Quaternary Activity of the Zhangjiakou Fault, Northern China显示文摘Based on detailed field investigations,this paper describes the geometrical characteristics and tectonic activities of the Zhangjiakou fault at the northwest of Beijing. This fault strikes mainly northwest to west,short parts of which strike near east to west,dipping north,and extends over a length of 70km. It is a major geological and geomorphological margin,controlling the neotectonic movement in this region. On the south side of the Zhangjiakou fault are the Late Quaternary unconsolidated deposits,forming basins; while on the other side are Mesozoic volcano debris and Pre-Mesozoic metamorphic rocks, forming lower mountains and hills. The Zhangjiakou fault consists mainly of high-angle inverse strike-slip fault and partially of normal strike-slip fault. Among these,the north-dipping NW-NWW-trending secondary faults,constituting the main fracture of the fault,have inverse characteristics; those near the EW-trending secondary faults are links of the former faults,with a smaller length and normal faulting characteristics. Thus,the Zhangjiakou fault is a north-dipping inverse and partially south-dipping normal strike-slip fault. The Zhangjiakou fault has been continuously active since the Quaternary. With the exception of the western end extension,which has been active since the late Pleistocene, the main part of the fault has been active since the Holocene. The central main segment of the Zhangjiakou fault is more active. Since the mid-late period of the late Pleistocene,the average vertical slip rate of a single fault has been over 0. 07mm /a ~ 0. 30mm /a. | 16 | Identification and Characterization of Gene SpDMRT99B and Its Sex-Biased Expression Profile in the Mud Crab,Scylla paramamosain显示文摘The doublesex and mab-3 related transcription factor(DMRT)gene family is conserved from invertebrates to humans.The functions of DMRT are mainly involved in sex development and the formation of many tissues and organs.In this study,a DM(Doublesex/Mab-3-domain gene was identified in the mud crab Scylla paramamosain,and was named SpDMRT99B because of its many similarities to arthropod DMRT99B and phylogenetically close relationship with arthropod DMRT99B.The cDNA of SpDMRT99B gene is 1249 bp in length,encoding 224 amino acids.From 254 bp to 928 bp there is a conserved DM domain.No transmembrane domain was identified.Through multiple amino acid alignment and phylogenetic tree analysis,the closest gene to SpDMRT99B is Eriocheir sinensis DMRT99B,followed by Macrobrachium rosenbergii and Drosophila melanogaster DMRT99B.The expressions of the gene were characterized in different tissues of female and male crabs during early development period of crab individuals,as well as in different development periods of gonads.The results showed that SpDMRT99B gene is significantly highly expressed in testis than in ovary and other tissues.The expression level of SpDMRT99B in testis at different stages is significantly higher than that in ovary,and it is particularly highly expressed in immature testis.In early developmental stages of larvae,the expressions of SpDMRT99B remain at a low level and reach a peak at zoea stage I when the body segments shape up.It is speculated that SpDMRT99B gene might be involved in the gonadal development process and somitogenesis of S.paramamosain. | ZHANG Yin FANG Shaobin LIN Fei LI Shengkang ZHENG Huaiping ZHANG Yueling IKHWANUDDIN Mhd MA Hongyu | 2021 | Journal of Ocean University of China2021,20,6: | 0 |
