1Characteristics of pulsed plasma synthetic jet and its control effect on supersonic flow显示文摘The plasma synthetic jet is a novel flow control approach which is currently being studied. In this paper its characteristic and control effect on supersonic flow is investigated both experimentally and numerically. In the experiment, the formation of plasma synthetic jet and its propagation velocity in quiescent air are recorded and calculated with time resolved schlieren method. The jet velocity is up to 100 m/s and no remarkable difference has been found after changing discharge parameters. When applied in Mach 2 supersonic flow, an obvious shockwave can be observed. In the modeling of electrical heating, the arc domain is not defined as an initial condition with fixed temperature or pressure, but a source term with time-varying input power density, which is expected to better describe the influence of heating process. Velocity variation with different heating efficiencies is presented and discussed and a peak velocity of 850 m/s is achieved in still air with heating power density of 5.0 · 1012W/m3. For more details on the interaction between plasma synthetic jet and supersonic flow, the plasma synthetic jet induced shockwave and the disturbances in the boundary layer are numerically researched. 3Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of Multilayer Ti(C,N) Films by Closed-field Unbalanced Magnetron Sputtering Ion Plating显示文摘Ti(C, N) multilayer films have been prepared by closed-field unbalanced magnetron sputtering technology and using graphite target as the C supplier. Microstructural observation results showed that the Ti(C, N) films exhibited multilayer structure with most of fine nano-columnar Ti(C, N) grains existing in the films. The current of graphite target had an effect remarkably on the multilayer structure of films: the periodical thickness gradually increased as the current went up, but the grain size of films gradually decreased and even amorphous phase appeared as the current further increased. The microstructure of Ti(C, N) films changed from columnar crystallite to nanocomposite in high current of graphite target where the fine Ti(C, N) grains were distributed uniformly in the amorphous Ti(C, N) matrix, and the volume fraction of the amorphous phase increased with increasing current. Measurement results showed that the Ti(C, N) multilayer films have high microhardness and low friction coefficient, and especially the film deposited in the current of 0.9 A exhibits superior properties with optimizing hardness and friction coefficient. Based on the relationship of the microstructure and the properties of films, the multilayer structure and fine grain size of Ti(C, N) films are responsible for their well mechanical and friction properties. 4Performing optical logic operations by a diffractive neural network显示文摘Optical logic operations lie at the heart of optical computing,and they enable many applications such as ultrahighspeed information processing.However,the reported optical logic gates rely heavily on the precise control of input light signals,including their phase difference,polarization,and intensity and the size of the incident beams.Due to the complexity and difficulty in these precise controls,the two output optical logic states may suffer from an inherent instability and a low contrast ratio of intensity.Moreover,the miniaturization of optical logic gates becomes difficult if the extra bulky apparatus for these controls is considered.As such,it is desirable to get rid of these complicated controls and to achieve full logic functionality in a compact photonic system.Such a goal remains challenging.Here,we introduce a simple yet universal design strategy,capable of using plane waves as the incident signal,to perform optical logic operations via a diffractive neural network.Physically,the incident plane wave is first spatially encoded by a specific logic operation at the input layer and further decoded through the hidden layers,namely,a compound Huygens’metasurface.That is,the judiciously designed metasurface scatters the encoded light into one of two small designated areas at the output layer,which provides the information of output logic states.Importantly,after training of the diffractive neural network,all seven basic types of optical logic operations can be realized by the same metasurface.As a conceptual illustration,three logic operations(NOT,OR,and AND)are experimentally demonstrated at microwave frequencies.Chao Qian Xiao Lin Xiaobin Lin Jian Xu Yang Sun Erping Li Baile Zhang Hongsheng Chen 2020Light(Science & Applications)2020,9,1:8
5Investigation of MHD power generation with supersonic non-equilibrium RF discharge显示文摘Magnetohydrodynamic(MHD) power generation with supersonic non-equilibrium plasma is demonstrated. Capacitively coupled radio frequency(RF) discharge(6 MHz, maximum continual power output of 200 W) was adopted to ionize the Mach number 3.5(650 m/s),0.023 kg/m3 airflow. In a MHD channel of 16 mm*10mm*20 mm, MHD open voltage of 10 V is realized in the magnetic field of 1.25 T, and power of 0.12 m W is extracted steadily and continuously in the magnetic field of 1 T. The reasons for limited power generation are proposed as:low conductivity of RF discharge; large touch resistance between MHD electrode and plasma;strong current eddies due to flow boundary layer. 6Structural insights into a high fidelity variant of SpCas9显示文摘The RNA-guided endonucleases of the CRISPR-Cas9 system, including the most w泊ely used Cas9 from Streptococcus pyogenes (SpCas9)z are becoming a robust genome editing tool in model organisms and hold immense promise for therapeutic applications. Many strategies have bee n employed to overcome the limitati ons caused by SpCas9zs off-target effects and its strin gent requirement for the protospacer adjacent motif (PAM) sequenee. However, the structural mechanisms underlying these strategies remain undefined. Here, we present crystal structure of a SpCas9 variant, xCas9 3.7 that has broad PAM compatibility and high DNA targeting specificity, in complex with a single-guide RNA and its double-stranded DNA targets. Structural comparison revealed that salt bridge-stabilized R1335 is critical for the stringent selection of PAM sequence by SpCas9. Unrestricted rotamerization of this residue by the E1219V mutation in xCas9 3.7 lessens the stringency for PAM recognition and allows SpCas9 to recognize multiple PAM sequences as further supported by biochemical data. Compared to those in wild-type (WT) SpCas9, REC2 and REC3 domains in xCas9 3.7 un dergo striki ng conformati onal changes, leadi ng to reduced con tact with DNA substrate. SpCas9 mutants en gineered to display less interaction with DNA and have conformationally more flexible REC2 and REC3 domains display enhanced specificity for DNA substrates in both biochemical and cellular assays. 7Broadband Negative Refraction of Highly Squeezed Hyperbolic Polaritons in 2D Materials显示文摘Negative refraction of highly squeezed polaritons is a fundamental building block for nanophotonics,since it can enable many unique applications,such as deep-subwavelength imaging.However,the phenomenon of all-angle negative refraction of highly squeezed polaritons,such as graphene plasmons with their wavelength squeezed by a factor over 100 compared to free-space photons,was reported to work only within a narrow bandwidth(<1 THz).Demonstrating this phenomenon within a broad frequency range remains a challenge that is highly sought afer due to its importance for the manipulation of light at the extreme nanoscale.Here we show the broadband all-angle negative refraction of highly squeezed hyperbolic polaritons in 2D materials in the infrared regime,by utilizing the naturally hyperbolic 2D materials or the hyperbolic metasurfaces based on nanostructured 2D materials(e.g.,graphene).Te working bandwidth can vary from several tens of THz to over a hundred of THz by tuning the chemical potential of 2D materials.Jing Jiang Xiao Lin Baile Zhang 2018Research2018,,1:5
8A distributed approach for lidar-based relative state estimation of multi-UAV in GPS-denied environments显示文摘In this paper,we present a distributed framework for the lidar-based relative state estimator which achieves highly accurate,real-time trajectory estimation of multiple Unmanned Aerial Vehicles(UAVs)in GPS-denied environments.The system builds atop a factor graph,and only on-board sensors and computing power are utilized.Benefiting from the keyframe strategy,each UAV performs relative state estimation individually and broadcasts very partial information without exchanging raw data.The complete system runs in real-time and is evaluated with three experiments in different environments.Experimental results show that the proposed distributed approach offers comparable performance with a centralized method in terms of accuracy and real-time performance.The flight test demonstrates that the proposed relative state estimation framework is able to be used for aggressive flights over 5 m/s.Hongming SHEN Qun ZONG Hanchen LU Xuewei ZHANG Bailing TIAN Lei HE 2022Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2022,35,1:3
9Adaptive immune responses to SARS-CoV-2 infection in severe versus mild individuals显示文摘The global Coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)pandemic caused by SARS-CoV-2 has affected more than eight million people.There is an urgent need to investigate how the adaptive immunity is established in COVID-19 patients.In this study,we proled adaptive immune cells of PBMCs from recovered COVID-19 patients with varying disease severity using single-cell RNA and TCR/BCR V(D)J sequencing.The sequencing data revealed SARS-CoV-2-specic shufing of adaptive immune repertories and COVID-19-induced remodeling of peripheral lymphocytes.Characterization of variations in the peripheral T and B cells from the COVID-19 patients revealed a positive correlation of humoral immune response and T-cell immune memory with disease severity.Sequencing and functional data revealed SARS-CoV-2-specic T-cell immune memory in the convalescent COVID-19 patients.Furthermore,we also identied novel antigens that are responsive in the convalescent patients.Altogether,our study reveals adaptive immune repertories underlying pathogenesis and recovery in severe versus mild COVID-19 patients,providing valuable information for potential vaccine and therapeutic development against SARS-CoV-2 infection.Fan Zhang Rui Gan Ziqi Zhen Xiaoli Hu Xiang Li Fengxia Zhou Ying Liu Chuangeng Chen Shuangyu Xie Bailing Zhang Xiaoke Wu Zhiwei Huang 2020Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2020,5,1:3
10Influence of annealing and spheroidizing treatment on microstructure and mechanical properties of AZ91 magnesium alloy显示文摘The low-strength and high-brittleness of AZ91 cast magnesium alloy mainly result from the coarse divorced eutectic phase.To solve these problems,the annealing treatment of AZ91 cast magnesium alloy was carried out at 415 ℃ and held for 24 h in this study and the alloy was then slowly cooled to room temperature in furnace.The microstructures of the alloy were observed using a metallographic microscope,a transmission electron microscopy and an emission scanning electron microscopy,respectively.The phase analysis was performed using the X-ray diffraction,and the tensile test of the specimen at ambient temperature was performed on a material test machine.The results indicate that the coarse divorced eutectic phase dissolves into the Mg matrix during the isothermal process,and the lamellar β-Mg17Al12 phase precipitates from the magnesium solid solution with a type of pearlite precipitation during furnace cooling.Consequently,the spheroidizing treatment was carried out at 320 ℃ for 20 h following the annealing process and the lamellar β-Mg17Al12 phase was spheroidized.Compared with the as-cast alloy,the strength and ductility of the AZ91 magnesium alloy are increased obviously after annealing treatment;the yield strength and tensile strength are increased to 137.8 MPa and 240.4 MPa from 102.9 MPa and 199.3 MPa,respectively;and the elongation is improved to 6.12% from 4.35%.After being spheroidized,the strength and hardness decrease a little,but the ductility is elevated to 7.23%.The nucleation,growth and spheroidizing mechanism of the lamellar β-Mg17Al12 phase were also discussed.Zhang Jumei Wang Zhihu Jiang Bailing Chen Zishan 2013China Foundry2013,10,1:3

12Loss of mdig expression enhances DNA and histone methylation and metastasis of aggressive breast cancer显示文摘We previously reported that expression of an environmentally induced gene,mineral dust-induced gene(mdig),predicts overall survival in breast cancer patients.In the present report,we further demonstrate the differential roles of mdig between earlier-and later-stage breast cancers.In noncancerous breast,mdig is a proliferation factor for cell growth and cell motility.In breast cancer,however,higher levels of mdig negatively regulate the migration and invasion of cancer cells.Assessment of global DNA methylation,chromatin accessibility and H3K9me3 heterochromatin signature suggests that silencing mdig enhances DNA and histone methylation.Through immunostaining and data mining,we found that mdig is significantly upregulated in noninvasive and/or earlier-stage breast cancers.In contrast,in triple-negative and other invasive breast cancers,diminished mdig expression was noted,indicating that the loss of mdig expression could be an important feature of aggressive breast cancers.Taken together,our data suggest that mdig is a new biomarker that likely promotes tumor growth in the early stages of breast cancer while acting as a tumor suppressor to inhibit invasion and metastasis in later-stage tumors.Chitra Thakur Bailing Chen Lingzhi Li Qian Zhang Zeng-Quan Yang Fei Chen 2018Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2018,3,1:2
