| 1 | Transplantation of UC-MSCs on collagen scaffold activates follicles in dormant ovaries of POF patients with long history of infertility显示文摘Premature ovarian failure(POF) is a refractory disease for clinical treatment with the goal of restoring fertility. In this study,umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells on a collagen scaffold(collagen/UC-MSCs) can activate primordial follicles in vitro via phosphorylation of FOXO3 a and FOXO1. Transplantation of collagen/UC-MSCs to the ovaries of POF patients rescued overall ovarian function, evidenced by elevated estradiol concentrations, improved follicular development, and increased number of antral follicles. Successful clinical pregnancy was achieved in women with POF after transplantation of collagen/UC-MSCs or UC-MSCs. Zircon SHRIMP age of 372±19 Ma for the plagioganite from Kuerti ophiolite indicates that thisophiolite formed in the Devonian period and it alsorepresented the time of extension of the Kuerti backarc basin that is relevant to the northwards subduction of thePaleo-Asian oceanic crust. | 3 | Bio-reduction of nitrate from groundwater using a hydrogen-based membrane biofilm reactor显示文摘A hydrogen-based membrane biofilm reactor(MBfR) using H2 as electron donor was investigated to remove nitrate from groundwater.When nitrate was first introduced to the MBfR,denitrification took place on the shell side of the membranes immediately,and the effluent concentration of nitrate continuously decreased with 100% removal rate on day 45 under the influent nitrate concentration of 5 mg NO3--N/L,which described the acclimating and enriching process of autohydrogenotrophic denitrification bacteria.A series of short-term experiments were applied to investigate the effects of hydrogen pressures and nitrate loadings on denitrification.The results showed that nitrate reduction rate improved as H2 pressure increasing,and over 97% of total nitrogen removal rate was achieved when the nitrate loading increased from 0.17 to 0.34 g NO3--N/(m2 ·day) without nitrite accumulation.The maximum denitrification rate was 384 g N/(m3 ·day).Partial sulfate reduction,which occurred in parallel to nitrate reduction,was inhibited by denitrififcation due to the competition for H2 .This research showed that MBfR is effective for removing nitrate from the contaminated groundwater. | Siqing Xia Fohua Zhong Yanhao Zhang Haixiang Li Xin Yang | 2010 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2010,22,2: | 23 |
| 4 | Discovery of super-silicic and super-titanic garnets in garnet-pyroxenite in Zhaheba and its geological significance显示文摘Super-silicic garnet which exists stably at more than 5 GPa is a typical ultra-high pressure mineral. The super-silicic garnet and super-titanic garnet were discovered for the first time in garnet-pyroxenite of early Paleozoic Zhaheba-Aermantai orogenic belt in north Xinjiang. Our study indicates that these su- per-silicic garnets as well as super-titanic garnets were formed at a depth of at least 300 km. Their host rock―― garnet-pyroxenite is one kind of ultra-pressure metamorphic rocks which is related to the ul- tra-deep subduction of the oceanic crust. | 6 | Removing Endotoxin from Protein Solution by Chitosan Modified Affinity Membrane显示文摘Affinity membrane was prepared with chitosan immobilized on the hydrophile- modified poly(vinylidene fluoride) (PVDF) membrane. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR.) analysis indicated that the contents of —NH2 and —OH groups increased and fluoride decreased on the membrane surface after modification. Using this kind of affinity membrane, the effects of operation parameters such as pH, ionic strength and flow rate, on the amount of endotoxin removed were investigated. The results showed that the equilibrium adsorption capacity and the dissociation constant of the affinity membrane to endotoxin were 21.4 EU·mg-1 membrane and 0.50EU·ml-1, respectively, at pH 7.0 and ionic strength 0.2 mol·L-1. Adsorption appeared to follow a typical Langmuir adsorption isotherm. We studied the effects of material-mixture ratio, glue content, hotpressing temperature, and hot-pressing time on the appearance, physical, and mechanical properties of the composite by the orthogonal experiment method. Our findings yielded highly significant results in all three cases: the effects of the material-mixture ratio on 2 h of thickness swelling(2h TS)and the modulus of rupture(MOR); the effects of glue content on 2h TS, internal bond strength, and modulus of elasticity(MOE); and the effects of hot-pressing temperature on MOR and MOE. | 15 | Construction of cytopathic PK-15 cell model of classical swine fever virus显示文摘No cytopathic effect (CPE) can be observed on classical swine fever virus (CSFV) infected cell culture in vitro. This brings an obstacle to the researches on reciprocity between CSFV and host cells. Based on the construction of full-length genomic infectious Cdna clone of Chinese CSFV standard virulent Shimen strain, partial deletion is intro- duced into genomic Cdna to obtain a 7.5 kb subgenomic Cdna. A new subgenomic CSFV is derived from transfection with the subgenomic Cdna on PK-15 cells pre-infected by CSFV Shimen virus. Typical CPE induced by this subgenomic virus is observed on PK-15 cells. Coexistence of wild- type and subgenomic virus in cytopathic cell culture is dem- onstrated by RT-PCR detection in cytopathic cells.
